Anyone got Twitter xAuth working with the Compact Framework yet?

This question is related to a number of other questions on oAuth on the Compact Framework (one, two) but seems slightly more specific to me, as it specifically involves getting Twitters xAuth API call (meant for non web applications to be able to do oAuth) working on the Compact Framework. Are SSL HTTP connections and the encryption methods needed for xAuth needed part of Compact Framework 3.5? Did anyone get the Twitter xAuth working on Windows Mobile already? If so, what libraries did you use for this? Any tips are welcome.

How do I authenticate a Twitter user and access the API without leaving my iPhone app?

I'd like to allow users to send out Tweets from my iPhone app. That's all the functionality I need at the moment. From what I know of the Twitter API, there's a standard authentication mechanism, which allows the developer to include the user's name and password in the request string that the application sends to Twitter. This method will no longer be supported come June 30, 2010. Given the timeframe, the better other choice is oAuth. One of the caveats of oAuth is that it requires a UIWebView to pop up within the app to allow the user to enter his or her credentials or a PIN number. None of the Twitter apps on my phone do this, however: Tweetie, TweetDeck and Twitterific. I assume they're using the first authentication method, but it seems like Twitter wouldn't deprecate an API that would hurt the user experience across the board. There must be an alternative method--what am I missing?

Google OAuthGetRequestToken returns "signature_invalid"

Trying for hours to get a request token using Google OAuthGetRequestToken but it always returns "signature_invalid". For a test I use the oAuth Playground to successfully request the token. How to build an easy Rails authentication with OpenID and OAuth1.0a-2.0?

Hi, I'am looking for an easy authentication for my users mostly via facebook, but keeping OpenID and other OAuth alternatives as well. For the case if something will go very bad, I will ask my users to optionally provide their email address, which should be obtained via OpenID or OAuth if possible. The same thing is about their name. I am a newbie in Rails, so I started with Railscasts.com #160 (authlogic) and #170 (authlogic and OpenID), however, I had some problems trying to sign in with my Google Account. As I understand, it will take some effort to adjust #170 for my objectives. On the other hand, there is gem authlogic_rpx which will possibly provide me the needed functionality (see http://rails-authlogic-rpx-sample.heroku.com/signin). What would you do? Is it reasonable to put one more step (RPX) in the authentication logic?

Twitter Authentication through Android's AccountManager classes.

I am working on a twitter based app and am trying to incorporate Android's built-in Account support for Twitter. The following code works to popup the confirmation dialog for my app to access twitter but I am unsure of what to pass in as the authenticationType. Any help would be appreciated. I've googled all over the place and can't seem to find the correct answer. It goes in place of "oauth" below. PHP code cannot see query string param on return in Facebook oAuth flow

I am doing some integration with Facebook Open Graph using their oAuth flow and having issues with parsing query string parameters they return. On my callback URL, they pass back an "access_token" parameter with a hash (#). so the callback would be: http://mydomain.com/callback.php#access_token=foobar123 where foobar123 is my access token I'm trying to parse out. However, no matter what I do, my PHP code cannot see if and I've done every debug trick I know (even using phpinfo() to go through everything). The URL is stated only as http://mydomain.com/callback.php. It's as if the rest of the URL isn't really there! This code returns nothing: $token = $_REQUEST['access_token']; Any help would be greatly appreciated... I'm obviously missing something simple.

How to get DIVs into this code via JQuery

Heya everyone I been struggling along with this piece of code for the longest time, its driving me insane. I am trying many different things and looking at past posts here but nothing seems to be helping. Basicly i have a jquery pagination code in place and i want to add animated transitions between pages. With some assistance i got that working correctly however this causes the page to jump around as the new items fade in and out. To fix this i need a DIV wrapped around each selection of results. I have been trying to use .wrap .html .wrapinner .append and i cant get any of it to work properly. The 2 areas where i beleive the code needs to be place are as follows: $('#content').children().slice(0, show_per_page).css('display', 'block'); and $('#content').children().fadeOut('slow').slice(start_from, end_on).fadeIn('slow'); Full original code: http://tutsvalley.com/tutorials/making-a-jquery-pagination-system/ Only the second line of code posted here has been altered. UILabel text doesn't word wrap

Hi, I have a long text string (including \n newline charactersthat I feed into a UILabel for display. The UILabel is dynamically setup to provide sufficient space foor the text. HTML5 text wrap

I am trying to add text on an image using the html5 canvas. First the image is drawn and on the image the text is drawn. So far so good. But where i am facing prob is that if the text is too long it gets cut off in the start and end by the canvas. I dont hav eplan to resize the canvas but I was wondering how to wrap the long text into multiple lines so that all of it gets displayed. Can anyone point me at the right direction?

I have a document with dynamic image and dynamic text and would like the text around the image. The image is right aligned on the landscape page. how to word wrap a QTreeWidgetItem

hello all, i have to populate a QTreeWidget with items (or children of items) that may happen to be too long to fit in a single line, so i'm looking for a way to word wrap them. i thought myQTreeWidget.setWordWrap(True) (done via QtDesigner4) would have done the job, but that doesn't seem to be the case. i don't konw if it is relevant, but the tree is enveloped in a splitter frame, so the wrapping should be somehow dynamic to allow resizing of the splitter. Any ideas? I use PyQt4, but hints in any language/binding would be much appreciated. have a good day all.

[iphone,twitter] Accessing the Twitter API through a proxy using NSURLConnectionsm, OAuth problem

I'm having no problems with sending an update directly via hxxps://api.twitter.com/, but the app (for the Iphone, I'm using NSURLConnections) I'm working is supposed to allow the user to select a preferred proxy (e.g. hxxps://twitter-proxy.appspot.com/api/ or hxxps://nest.onedd.net/api/), and I keep getting a 401 error (Failed to validate oauth signature and token) whenever I try to get an access token via these proxies. Even though I send my POST request to the proxy, I am still using the direct url for the api (https:// api.twitter.com/[rest api path]) in the base string. Despite the 401 error message above, the status code I'm actually getting from connection:didReceiveResponse: is 200, probably because it was able to successfully contact the proxy... Is there anything else that I need to consider when using a proxy to access the API? Should anything in the authorization header change, for example? Or the base string? I can manage to connect via Basic Auth without issue, but support for that will be dropped in a month. On a somewhat unrelated note... What are the possible causes of Twitter's error 403, and how do you distinguish between them? Is the only way to differentiate an error due to exceeding the status update limit for an hour (150 per hour) vs for a day (1000 per day) by checking the string reply returned in the response? Is there any way for me to simulate a status update limit error without going through the motions of actually sending 150/1000 tweets?

Hello I'm trying to display the latest tweet using the code below. This preg_replace works great for wrapping a link round twitter @usernames but doesn't work for web addresses in tweets. Hi, Is it possible to make a small box (which will be a row element in a list for me) with an icon in the upper right corner, and text wrapped around it? Forcing images to not wrap

I can't touch the html theme but I have access to the css files. <div class="photos"> <img src="a.jpg" alt="" align="left" /> <img src="b.jpg" alt="" align="left" /> <img src="c.jpg" alt="" align="left" /> //align makes the images wrap </div> Unfortunately I can't remove align="left" from the images otherwise this CSS snippet would have done the job .photos{ white-space: nowrap; } .photos img{ display: inline; vertical-align: top; } Any ideas? Is it even possible to make these images line-up horizontally without using the force of a table and only with CSS? Many Thank in advance!

What simple methods are there to wrap a c++ based object model with a COM interface

I have a pre-existing c++ object model which represents the business layer tier of an application. I want to be able to expose the object model to applications written in other languages i.e vbscript, VB, javascript etc. I believe the best way of doing this is to wrap the business objects with a COM layer. What fast and effective methods are there for doing this. Any advice, links to practical "How to" documentation would be very much appreciated. Because I'm starting a bounty on this , here's a few extra guidelines for potential bounty hunters :- 1)I've decided on an ATL approach 2)I'm now specifically looking for links to really good "how to and quickly" documentation on wrapping a pre-existing c++ object model to make it useable by a scripting language like javascript 3) Something with small working examples showing me what code needs to be added to what files, e.g what goes into the cpp , idl and hpp/h etc. It' must include an example I can compile test and change to get a better understanding.

Haskell: variant of `show` that doesn't wrap String and Char in quotes

I'd like a variant of show (let's call it label) that acts just like show, except that it doesn't wrap Strings in " " or Chars in ' '. Examples: > label 5 "5" > label "hello" "hello" > label 'c' "c" I tried implementing this manually, but I ran into some walls. Good way to "wrap" jars for OSGi with Maven

I was looking at the PAX tools on OPS4J for example: this one and I thought I'd found a nice way to: Specify an artifact Create an assembled jar (jar that contains all dependencies) from that jar and it's transitive dependencies Wrap it with BND to create an OSGi bundle It turns out, that I was wrong - it doesn't appear that the PAX stuff does this. (RTFM, right? :) ) But this got me wondering: is there something out there that does what I'm asking? I've thought maybe I could do this by creating a simple POM and using the maven-bundle-plugin but this seems like it might be a bit cumbersome for what I'm asking. NOTE: I get that embedding and assembling jar's is not really "the OSGi way" - so I wouldn't do this unless I really felt it useful. For example - Spring. Thanks in advance.

Wrap MemoryStream in a using block REST WCF

I'm learning REST to implement some Services with WCF. I implemented an example with a MemoryStream. Because MemoryStream is Disposable I wrapped it in a using. When I do this I sometimes can see the xml response in the browser (IE8) and sometimes it will just show me the following Errormessage: The download of the specified resource has failed. Error processing resource 'http://localhost:8889/SimpleGetService/'. Why does this occur? When I don't wrap it in a using, I never seem to get the error.

I have a problem with VB and Moq. I need to call a verify on a Sub. Like so: logger.Verify(Function(x) x.Log, Times.AtLeastOnce) And my logger looks like this: Public Interface ILogger Sub Log() End Interface But with VB this is not possible, because the Log method is a Sub, and thereby does not produce a value. I don't want to change the method to be a function. Whats the cleanest way of working around this limitation and is there any way to wrap the Sub as a Function like the below? logger.Verify(Function(x) ToFunc(AddressOf x.Log)) I have tried this, but i get: Lambda Parameter not in scope

Single C++/CLI method to wrap many type specific C functions

I am wrapping a C library using C++/CLI so that the C library can be used easily from C# in a C#'ish way. Some of the functions in this library are for putting a value into a container. There are no generics in C so there exists a function per type CLIB_SetBool(BOOL value), CLIB_SetInt(int value), CLIB_SetString(char* string) and so on. To make it easier to use from C#, I have created a single Set function which takes a System::Object. I have two related questions: With my method how would you use a switch statement on the type of System::Object to call the correct CLIB_Setxxxx function. [typeid is only for unmanaged code and I can't seem to use GetType.] Is there a better way to wrap these functions like using a Generic? [I started using template specialisation but then realised that C# doesn't see templates.] Thanks.
