  • How can you make an emacs macro wait for cscope query results?

    - by Sudhanshu
    I am trying to write a macro which calls cscope-find-functions-calling-this-function on each and every tag in a file displayed in the *Tags List* buffer (created by list-tags command). This should create a buffer which contains list of all functions calling a set of functions defined in a certain file. This is the sequence of keystrokes: 1. <f11> ;; cscope-find-functions-calling-this-function 2. RET ;; newline [shows results of cscope in a split window] 3. C-x C-p ;; mark-page 4. C-x C-x ;; icicle-exchange-point-and-mark 5. <up> ;; previous-line 6. <end> ;; end-of-line [region to copy has been marked] 7. <f7> ;; append-results-to-buffer 8. C-x ESC O ;; [move back to split window on the right] 9. C-x b ;; icicle-buffer [Switch back to *Tags List* buffer] 10. *Tags ;; self-insert-command * 5 11. SPC ;; self-insert-command 12. List* ;; self-insert-command * 5 13. RET ;; newline 14 . <down> ;; next-line [Position point on next tag in the list] Problem: I get no results in the buffer, and I found out that's because Step 3-7 execute even before cscope prints the results of query made on Steps 1-2. I can insert a pause in the macro by using C-x q, but I'd rather like the macro to wait after Step 2, until cscope has returned with the results and only then continue further. I suspect this is not possible through a macro, maybe a LISP function... I'm not a lisp expert myself. Can someone please help? Thanks! Details: I have Icicles installed so by default I get word at point in current buffer as input in minibuffer. F11 is bound to cscope-find-functions-calling-this-function windmove is installed and C-x (C-x ESC o - as shown below) takes you to the right window. F7 is bound to append-results-to-buffer which is defined as: (defun append-results-to-buffer () (interactive) (append-to-buffer (get-buffer-create "c1") (point) (mark))) This function just appends the currently marked region to a buffer named "c1".

  • Applications: How to create a custom dialog box for Windows Mobile 6 (native)

    - by TechTwaddle
    Ashraf, on the MSDN forum, asks, “Is there a way to make a default choice for the messagebox that happens after a period of time if the user doesn't choose (Clicked ) Yes or No buttons.” To elaborate, the requirement is to show a message box to the user with certain options to select, and if the user does not respond within a predefined time limit (say 8 seconds) then the message box must dismiss itself and select a default option. Now such a functionality is not available with the MessageBox() api, you will have to write your own custom dialog box. Surely, creating a dialog box is quite a simple task using the DialogBox() api, and we have been creating full screen dialog boxes all the while. So how will this custom message box be any different? It’s not much different from a regular dialog box except for a few changes in its properties. First, it has a title bar but no buttons on the title bar (no ‘x’ or ‘ok’ button on the title bar), it doesn’t occupy full screen and it contains the controls that you put into it, thus justifying the title ‘custom’. So in this post we create a custom dialog box with two buttons, ‘Black’ and ‘White’. The user is given 8 seconds to select one of those colours, if the user doesn’t make a selection in 8 seconds, the default option ‘Black’ is selected. Before going into the implementation here is a video of how the dialog box works; Custom dialog box To start off, add a new dialog resource into your application, size it appropriately and add whatever controls you need to the dialog. In my case, I added two static text labels and two buttons, as below; Now we need to write up the window procedure for this dialog, here is the complete function; BOOL CALLBACK CustomDialogProc(HWND hDlg, UINT uMessage, WPARAM wParam, LPARAM lParam) {     int wmID, wmEvent;     PAINTSTRUCT ps;     HDC hdc;     static int timeCount = 0;     switch(uMessage)     {         case WM_INITDIALOG:             {                 SHINITDLGINFO shidi;                 memset(&shidi, 0, sizeof(shidi));                 shidi.dwMask = SHIDIM_FLAGS;                 //shidi.dwFlags = SHIDIF_DONEBUTTON | SHIDIF_SIPDOWN | SHIDIF_SIZEDLGFULLSCREEN | SHIDIF_EMPTYMENU;                 shidi.dwFlags = SHIDIF_SIPDOWN | SHIDIF_EMPTYMENU;                 shidi.hDlg = hDlg;                 SHInitDialog(&shidi);                 SHDoneButton(hDlg, SHDB_HIDE);                 timeCount = 0;                 SetWindowText(GetDlgItem(hDlg, IDC_STATIC_TIME_REMAINING), L"Time remaining: 8 second(s)");                 SetTimer(hDlg, MY_TIMER, 1000, NULL);             }             return TRUE;         case WM_COMMAND:             {                 wmID = LOWORD(wParam);                 wmEvent = HIWORD(wParam);                 switch(wmID)                 {                     case IDC_BUTTON_BLACK:                         KillTimer(hDlg, MY_TIMER);                         EndDialog(hDlg, IDC_BUTTON_BLACK);                         break;                     case IDC_BUTTON_WHITE:                         KillTimer(hDlg, MY_TIMER);                         EndDialog(hDlg, IDC_BUTTON_WHITE);                         break;                 }             }             break;         case WM_TIMER:             {                 if (wParam == MY_TIMER)                 {                     WCHAR wszText[128];                     memset(&wszText, 0, sizeof(wszText));                     timeCount++;                     //8 seconds are over, dismiss the dialog, select def value                     if (timeCount >= 8)                     {                         KillTimer(hDlg, MY_TIMER);                         EndDialog(hDlg, IDC_BUTTON_BLACK_DEF);                     }                     wsprintf(wszText, L"Time remaining: %d second(s)", 8-timeCount);                     SetWindowText(GetDlgItem(hDlg, IDC_STATIC_TIME_REMAINING), wszText);                     UpdateWindow(GetDlgItem(hDlg, IDC_STATIC_TIME_REMAINING));                 }             }             break;         case WM_PAINT:             {                 hdc = BeginPaint(hDlg, &ps);                 EndPaint(hDlg, &ps);             }             break;     }     return FALSE; } The MSDN documentation mentions that you need to specify the flag WS_NONAVDONEBUTTON, but I got an error saying that the value could not be found, so we can ignore this for now. Next up, while calling SHInitDialog() for your custom dialog, make sure that you don’t specify SHDIF_DONEBUTTON in the dwFlags member of the SHINITDIALOG structure, this member makes the ‘ok’ button appear on the dialog title bar. Finally, we need to call SHDoneButton() with SHDB_HIDE flag to, well, hide the Done button. The ‘Done’ button is the same as the ‘ok’ button, so this step might seem redundant, and the dialog works fine without calling SHDoneButton() too, but it’s better to stick with the documentation (; So you can see that we have followed all these steps above, under WM_INITDIALOG. We also setup a few things like a variable to keep track of the time, and setting off a one second timer. Every time the timer fires, we receive a WM_TIMER message. We then update the static label displaying the amount of time left to the user. If 8 seconds go by without the user selecting any option, we kill the timer and end the dialog with IDC_BUTTON_BLACK_DEF. This is just a #define’d integer value, make sure it’s unique. You’ll see why this is important. If the user makes a selection, either Black or White, we kill the timer and end the dialog with corresponding selection the user made, that is, either IDC_BUTTON_BLACK or IDC_BUTTON_WHITE. Ok, so now our custom dialog is ready to be used. I invoke the custom dialog from a menu entry in the main windows as below, case IDM_MENU_CUSTOMDLG:     {         int ret = DialogBox(g_hInst, MAKEINTRESOURCE(IDD_CUSTOM_DIALOG), hWnd, CustomDialogProc);         switch(ret)         {             case IDC_BUTTON_BLACK_DEF:                 SetWindowText(g_hStaticSelection, L"You Selected: Black (default)");                 break;             case IDC_BUTTON_BLACK:                 SetWindowText(g_hStaticSelection, L"You Selected: Black");                 break;             case IDC_BUTTON_WHITE:                 SetWindowText(g_hStaticSelection, L"You Selected: White");                 break;         }         UpdateWindow(g_hStaticSelection);     }     break; So you see why ending the dialog with the corresponding value was important, that’s what the DialogBox() api returns with. And in the main window I update a static text label to show which option was selected. I cranked this out in about an hour, and unfortunately don’t have time for a managed C# version. That will have to be another post, if I manage to get it working that is (;

  • Internationalize WebCenter Portal - Content Presenter

    - by Stefan Krantz
    Lately we have been involved in engagements where internationalization has been holding the project back from success. In this post we are going to explain how to get Content Presenter and its editorials to comply with the current selected locale for the WebCenter Portal session. As you probably know by now WebCenter Portal leverages the Localization support from Java Server Faces (JSF), in this post we will assume that the localization is controlled and enforced by switching the current browsers locale between English and Spanish. There is two main scenarios in internationalization of a content enabled pages, since Content Presenter offers both presentation of information as well as contribution of information, in this post we will look at how to enable seamless integration of correct localized version of the back end content file and how to enable the editor/author to edit the correct localized version of the file based on the current browser locale. Solution Scenario 1 - Localization aware content presentation Due to the amount of steps required to implement the enclosed solution proposal I have decided to share the solution with you in group components for each facet of the solution. If you want to get more details on each step, you can review the enclosed components. This post will guide you through the steps of enabling each component and what it enables/changes in each section of the system. Enable Content Presenter Customization By leveraging a predictable naming convention of the data files used to hold the content for the Content Presenter instance we can easily develop a component that will dynamically switch the name out before presenting the information. The naming convention we have leverage is the industry best practice by having a shared identifier as prefix (ContentABC) and a language enabled suffix (_EN) (_ES). So the assumption is that each file pair in above example should look like following:- English version - (ContentABC_EN)- Spanish version - (ContentABC_ES) Based on above theory we can now easily regardless of the primary version assigned to the content presenter instance switch the language out by using the localization support from JSF. Below java bean (oracle.webcenter.doclib.internal.view.presenter.NLSHelperBean) is enclosed in the customization project available for download at the bottom of the post: 1: public static final String CP_D_DOCNAME_FORMAT = "%s_%s"; 2: public static final int CP_UNIQUE_ID_INDEX = 0; 3: private ContentPresenter presenter = null; 4:   5:   6: public NLSHelperBean() { 7: super(); 8: } 9:   10: /** 11: * This method updates the configuration for the pageFlowScope to have the correct datafile 12: * for the current Locale 13: */ 14: public void initLocaleForDataFile() { 15: String dataFile = null; 16: // Checking that state of presenter is present, also make sure the item is eligible for localization by locating the "_" in the name 17: if(presenter.getConfiguration().getDatasource() != null && 18: presenter.getConfiguration().getDatasource().isNodeDatasource() && 19: presenter.getConfiguration().getDatasource().getNodeIdDatasource() != null && 20: !presenter.getConfiguration().getDatasource().getNodeIdDatasource().equals("") && 21: presenter.getConfiguration().getDatasource().getNodeIdDatasource().indexOf("_") > 0) { 22: dataFile = presenter.getConfiguration().getDatasource().getNodeIdDatasource(); 23: FacesContext fc = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance(); 24: //Leveraging the current faces contenxt to get current localization language 25: String currentLocale = fc.getViewRoot().getLocale().getLanguage().toUpperCase(); 26: String newDataFile = dataFile; 27: String [] uniqueIdArr = dataFile.split("_"); 28: if(uniqueIdArr.length > 0) { 29: newDataFile = String.format(CP_D_DOCNAME_FORMAT, uniqueIdArr[CP_UNIQUE_ID_INDEX], currentLocale); 30: } 31: //Replacing the current Node datasource with localized datafile. 32: presenter.getConfiguration().getDatasource().setNodeIdDatasource(newDataFile); 33: } 34: } With this bean code available to our WebCenter Portal implementation we can start the next step, by overriding the standard behavior in content presenter by applying a MDS Taskflow customization to the content presenter taskflow, following taskflow customization has been applied to the customization project attached to this post:- Library: WebCenter Document Library Service View- Path: oracle.webcenter.doclib.view.jsf.taskflows.presenter- File: contentPresenter.xml Changes made in above customization view:1. A new method invocation activity has been added (initLocaleForDataFile)2. The method invocation invokes the new NLSHelperBean3. The default activity is moved to the new Method invocation (initLocaleForDataFile)4. The outcome from the method invocation goes to determine-navigation (original default activity) The above changes concludes the presentation modification to support a compatible localization scenario for a content driven page. In addition this customization do not limit or disables the out of the box capabilities of WebCenter Portal. Steps to enable above customization Start JDeveloper and open your WebCenter Portal Application Select "Open Project" and include the extracted project you downloaded (CPNLSCustomizations.zip) Make sure the build out put from CPNLSCustomizations project is a dependency to your Portal project Deploy your Portal Application to your WC_CustomPortal managed server Make sure your naming convention of the two data files follow above recommendation Example result of the solution: Solution Scenario 2 - Localization aware content creation and authoring As you could see from Solution Scenario 1 we require the naming convention to be strictly followed, this means in the hands of a user with limited technology knowledge this can be one of the failing links in this solutions. Therefore I strongly recommend that you also follow this part since this will eliminate this risk and also increase the editors/authors usability with a magnitude. The current WebCenter Portal Architecture leverages WebCenter Content today to maintain, publish and manage content, therefore we need to make few efforts in making sure this part of the architecture is on board with our new naming practice and also simplifies the creation of content for our end users. As you probably remember the naming convention required a prefix to be common so I propose we enable a new component that help you auto name the content items dDocName (this means that the readable title can still be in a human readable format). The new component (WCP-LocalizationSupport.zip) built for this scenario will enable a couple of things: 1. A new service where a sequential number can be generate on request - service name: GET_WCP_LOCALE_CONTENTID 2. The content presenter is leveraging a specific function when launching the content creation wizard from within Content Presenter. Assumption is that users will create the content by clicking "Create Web Content" button. When clicking the button the wizard opened is actually running in side of WebCenter Content server, file executed (contentwizard.hcsp). This file uses JSON commands that will generate operations in the content server, I have extend this file to create two identical data files instead of one.- First it creates the English version by leveraging the new Service and a Global Rule to set the dDocName on the original check in screen, this global rule is available in a configuration package attached to this blog (NLSContentProfileRule.zip)- Secondly we run a set of JSON javascripts to create the Spanish version with the same details except for the name where we replace the suffix with (_ES)- Then content creation wizard ends with its out of the box behavior and assigns the Content Presenter instance the English versionSee Javascript markup below - this can be changed in the (WCP-LocalizationSupport.zip/component/WCP-LocalizationSupport/publish/webcenter) 1: //---------------------------------------A-TEAM--------------------------------------- 2: WCM.ContentWizard.CheckinContentPage.OnCheckinComplete = function(returnParams) 3: { 4: var callback = WCM.ContentWizard.CheckinContentPage.checkinCompleteCallback; 5: WCM.ContentWizard.ChooseContentPage.OnSelectionComplete(returnParams, callback); 6: // Load latest DOC_INFO_SIMPLE 7: var cgiPath = DOCLIB.config.httpCgiPath; 8: var jsonBinder = new WCM.Idc.JSONBinder(); 9: jsonBinder.SetLocalDataValue('IdcService', 'DOC_INFO_SIMPLE'); 10: jsonBinder.SetLocalDataValue('dID', returnParams.dID); 11: jsonBinder.Send(cgiPath, $CB(this, function(http) { 12: var ret = http.GetResponseText(); 13: var binder = new WCM.Idc.JSONBinder(ret); 14: var dDocName = binder.GetResultSetValue('DOC_INFO', 'dDocName', 0); 15: if(dDocName.indexOf("_") > 0){ 16: var ssBinder = new WCM.Idc.JSONBinder(); 17: ssBinder.SetLocalDataValue('IdcService', 'SS_CHECKIN_NEW'); 18: //Additional Localization dDocName generated 19: ssBinder.SetLocalDataValue('dDocName', getLocalizedDocName(dDocName, "es")); 20: ssBinder.SetLocalDataValue('primaryFile', 'default.xml'); 21: ssBinder.SetLocalDataValue('ssDefaultDocumentToken', 'SSContributorDataFile'); 22:   23: for(var n = 0 ; n < binder.GetResultSetFields('DOC_INFO').length ; n++) { 24: var field = binder.GetResultSetFields('DOC_INFO')[n]; 25: if(field != 'dID' && 26: field != 'dDocName' && 27: field != 'dID' && 28: field != 'dReleaseState' && 29: field != 'dRevClassID' && 30: field != 'dRevisionID' && 31: field != 'dRevLabel') { 32: ssBinder.SetLocalDataValue(field, binder.GetResultSetValue('DOC_INFO', field, 0)); 33: } 34: } 35: ssBinder.Send(cgiPath, $CB(this, function(http) {})); 36: } 37: })); 38: } 39:   40: //Support function to create localized dDocNames 41: function getLocalizedDocName(dDocName, lang) { 42: var result = dDocName.replace("_EN", ("_" + lang)); 43: return result; 44: } 45: //---------------------------------------A-TEAM--------------------------------------- 3. • Imperative vs. LINQ Performance on WP7

    - by Bil Simser
    Jesse Liberty had a nice post presenting the concepts around imperative, LINQ and fluent programming to populate a listbox. Check out the post as it’s a great example of some foundational things every .NET programmer should know. I was more interested in what the IL code that would be generated from imperative vs. LINQ was like and what the performance numbers are and how they differ. The code at the instruction level is interesting but not surprising. The imperative example with it’s creating lists and loops weighs in at about 60 instructions. .csharpcode, .csharpcode pre { font-size: small; color: black; font-family: consolas, "Courier New", courier, monospace; In fact if you have ReSharper installed you’ll see a squiggly (technical term) in the imperative code that says “Hey Dude, I can convert this to LINQ if you want to be c00L!” (or something like that, it’s the 2010 geek version of Clippy). What about the fluent version? As Jon correctly pointed out in the comments, when you compare the IL for the LINQ code and the IL for the fluent code it’s the same. LINQ and the fluent interface are just syntactical sugar so you decide what you’re most comfortable with. At the end of the day they’re both the same. Now onto the numbers. Again I expected the imperative version to be better performing than the LINQ version (before I saw the IL that was generated). Call it womanly instinct. A gut feel. Whatever. Some of the numbers are interesting though. For Jesse’s example of 50 items, the numbers were interesting. The imperative sample clocked in at 7ms while the LINQ version completed in 4. As the number of items went up, the elapsed time didn’t necessarily climb exponentially. At 500 items they were pretty much the same and the results were similar up to about 50,000 items. After that I tried 500,000 items where the gap widened but not by much (2.2 seconds for imperative, 2.3 for LINQ). It wasn’t until I tried 5,000,000 items where things were noticeable. Imperative filled the list in 20 seconds while LINQ took 8 seconds longer (although personally I wouldn’t suggest you put 5 million items in a list unless you want your users showing up at your door with torches and pitchforks). Here’s the table with the full results. Method/Items 50 500 5,000 50,000 500,000 5,000,000 Imperative 7ms 7ms 38ms 223ms 2230ms 20974ms LINQ/Fluent 4ms 6ms 41ms 240ms 2310ms 28731ms Like I said, at the end of the day it’s not a huge difference and you really don’t want your users waiting around for 30 seconds on a mobile device filling lists. In fact if Windows Phone 7 detects you’re taking more than 10 seconds to do any one thing, it considers the app hung and shuts it down. The results here are for Windows Phone 7 but frankly they're the same for desktop and web apps so feel free to apply it generally. From a programming perspective, choose what you like. Some LINQ statements can get pretty hairy so I usually fall back with my simple mind and write it imperatively. If you really want to impress your friends, write it old school then let ReSharper do the hard work for! Happy programming!

  • Mac OS ? Assembly Language Esoteria

    - by veryfoolish
    I've been playing around with assembly and object files in general on Mac OS ? and was wondering if somebody could provide some edification. Specifically, I'm wondering what the extra code GCC generates when compiling the C file in the following example does. I have a toy C program so I can comprehend the assembly output. int main() { int a = 5; int b = 5; int c = a + b; } Running this through gcc -S creates the following assembly: .text .globl _main _main: LFB2: pushq %rbp LCFI0: movq %rsp, %rbp LCFI1: movl $5, -4(%rbp) movl $5, -8(%rbp) movl -8(%rbp), %eax addl -4(%rbp), %eax movl %eax, -12(%rbp) leave ret LFE2: .section __TEXT,__eh_frame,coalesced,no_toc+strip_static_syms+live_support EH_frame1: .set L$set$0,LECIE1-LSCIE1 .long L$set$0 LSCIE1: .long 0x0 .byte 0x1 .ascii "zR\0" .byte 0x1 .byte 0x78 .byte 0x10 .byte 0x1 .byte 0x10 .byte 0xc .byte 0x7 .byte 0x8 .byte 0x90 .byte 0x1 .align 3 LECIE1: .globl _main.eh _main.eh: LSFDE1: .set L$set$1,LEFDE1-LASFDE1 .long L$set$1 LASFDE1: .long LASFDE1-EH_frame1 .quad LFB2-. .set L$set$2,LFE2-LFB2 .quad L$set$2 .byte 0x0 .byte 0x4 .set L$set$3,LCFI0-LFB2 .long L$set$3 .byte 0xe .byte 0x10 .byte 0x86 .byte 0x2 .byte 0x4 .set L$set$4,LCFI1-LCFI0 .long L$set$4 .byte 0xd .byte 0x6 .align 3 LEFDE1: .subsections_via_symbols The LCFI1 section seems to contain the actual logic for the program, but I'm not sure what the misc. other stuff is for... also, is there any scheme these labels are following? I'm sorry this is such a vague question. I'd appreciate anything, including being pointed to a resource where I can find out more about this. Thanks!

  • Bash: create anonymous fifo

    - by Adrian Panasiuk
    We all know mkfifo and pipelines. The first one creates a named pipe, thus one has to select a name, most likely with mktemp and later remember to unlink. The other creates an anonymous pipe, no hassle with names and removal, but the ends of the pipe get tied to the commands in the pipeline, it isn't really convenient to somehow get a grip of the file descriptors and use them in the rest of the script. In a compiled program, I would just do ret=pipe(filedes); in Bash there is exec 5<>file so one would expect something like "exec 5<> -" or "pipe <5 >6" -is there something like that in Bash?

  • Parsing mathematical experssions with two values that have parenthesis and minus signs

    - by user45921
    I'm trying to parse equations like these which only has two values or the square root of a certain value from a text file: 100+100 -100-100 -(100)+(-100) sqrt(100) by the minues signs, parenthesis and the operator symbol in the middle and the square root, and I have no idea how to start off... I've got the file part done and the simple calculation parts except that I couldnt get my program to solve the equations in the above. #include <stdio.h> #include <string.h> #include <stdlib.h> #include <math.h> main(){ FILE *fp; char buff[255], sym,sym2,del1,del2,del3,del4; double num1, num2; int ret; fp = fopen("input.txt","r"); while(fgets(buff,sizeof(buff),fp)!=NULL){ char *tok = buff; sscanf(tok,"%lf%c%lf",&num1,&sym,&num2); switch(sym){ case '+': printf("%lf\n", num1+num2); break; case '-': printf("%lf\n", num1-num2); break; case '*': printf("%lf\n", num1*num2); break; case '/': printf("%lf\n", num1/num2); break; default: printf("The input value is not correct\n"); break; } } fclose(fp); } that is what have I written for the other basic operations without parenthesis and the minus sign for the second value and it works great for the simple ones. I'm using a switch method to calculate the add, sub, mul and divide but I'm not sure how to properly use the sscanf function (if I am not using it properly) or if there is another way using a function like strtok to properly parse the parenthesis and the minus signs. Any kind help?

  • Virtualization in Ubuntu 11.10

    - by Mascarpone
    Since Ubuntu 11.10 use a new kernel, it's very difficult to have a decent support for virtualization. VirtualBox doesn't support guest additions for ubuntu 11.10, so I can't copy to and from my ubuntu desktop and windows, which I absolutely require, plus FreeBSD seems not to be able to use DHCP without guest additions. Virt-manager instead gives an error on launch: Unable to open a connection to the libvirt management daemon. Libvirt URI is: qemu:///system Verify that: - The 'libvirt-bin' package is installed - The 'libvirtd' daemon has been started - You are member of the 'libvirtd' group unable to connect to '/var/run/libvirt/libvirt-sock', libvirtd may need to be started: Permission denied Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/virt-manager/virtManager/connection.py", line 1146, in _open_thread self.vmm = self._try_open() File "/usr/share/virt-manager/virtManager/connection.py", line 1130, in _try_open flags) File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/libvirt.py", line 102, in openAuth if ret is None:raise libvirtError('virConnectOpenAuth() failed') libvirtError: unable to connect to '/var/run/libvirt/libvirt-sock', libvirtd may need to be started: Permission denied The problem is solved by running virt-manager as root, but I don't like that. How do I change permissions to run Virt-Manager as user? Is there a way to install guest additions on Ubuntu 11.10?

    I am trying to add a DomU Operating system on Ubuntu 11.10. I have successfully installed Xen. Verified with xm info virsh-version which returns: Compiled against library: libvir 0.9.2 Using library: libvir 0.9.2 Using API: Xen 3.0.1 Running hypervisor: Xen 4.1. Now when I tried to install Dom0 it said: unable to connect to 'localhost:8000': , in VMM. So, I followed this bug link. I could now start adding DomU. When adding DomU, in last stage, it gives the following error: Unable to complete install: 'POST operation failed: xend_post: error from xen daemon: (xend.err "Error creating domain: device model '/usr/lib/xen/bin/qemu-dm' not found")' Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/share/virt-manager/virtManager/asyncjob.py", line 44, in cb_wrapper callback(asyncjob, *args, **kwargs) File "/usr/share/virt-manager/virtManager/create.py", line 1899, in do_install guest.start_install(False, meter=meter) File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.7/virtinst/Guest.py", line 1223, in start_install noboot) File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.7/virtinst/Guest.py", line 1291, in _create_guest dom = self.conn.createLinux(start_xml or final_xml, 0) File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/libvirt.py", line 1686, in createLinux if ret is None:raise libvirtError('virDomainCreateLinux() failed', conn=self) libvirtError: POST operation failed: xend_post: error from xen daemon: (xend.err "Error creating domain: device model '/usr/lib/xen/bin/qemu-dm' not found") I tried following this bug link that said, the bug is solved in the below package. When I run ./configure in this, I am getting an error: checking for LIBXML... no checking libxml2 xml2-config >= 2.6.0 ... configure: error: Could not find libxml2 anywhere (see config.log for details). What is the problem?

  • How to enter Devanagari half-R character in Emacs MULE?

    - by journeyer
    I am trying the Emacs MULE ITRANS input method to enter Devanagari unicode text. I am looking to enter a key sequence for Devanagari letter "Half-R" (??) i.e. U0931 U094d (which should be mapped to R according to the ITRANS Wikipedia page). While all other keys in the map work fine, this particular one does not! I know I can use M-x ucs-insert (or CTRL-x-8 RET) to enter this sequence, but it is getting tiresome. How do I fix this problem ?

  • Google maps api v3 refreshing away markers

    - by Paul Peelen
    Hi, I am having problems with the google maps API V3. It seems that every time I load my page the maps load (including the markers) and then it does a quick reload and removes all the markers. Am I missing somehting? What am I doing wrong? Here is an example: http://www.PaulPeelen.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/SafariScreenSnapz001.mov this is my code: <script type="text/javascript"> <!-- var hash = "{{$sHashLocal}}"; var webroot = "{{$webroot}}"; var map; function initialize() { var latlng = new google.maps.LatLng(59.32045, 18.066902); var myOptions = { zoom: 13, center: latlng, mapTypeId: google.maps.MapTypeId.ROADMAP }; map = new google.maps.Map(document.getElementById("map_canvas"), myOptions); return map; } function getMarkerInfo (infowindow, rack_id) { // Get all the racks $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: webroot+"ajax/getRack/"+hash+"/"+rack_id, cache: false, dataType: "html", success: function(html) { $("#rack_"+rack_id).html(); infowindow.setContent(html); } }); } $(document).ready(function () { map = initialize(); function attachSecretMessage(marker, rack_id) { var infowindow = new google.maps.InfoWindow({ size: new google.maps.Size(50,50) }); google.maps.event.addListener(marker, 'click', function(){ var ret = '<div id="rack_'+rack_id+'" class="rackDiv"><div class="rackDivLoading"><img src="theme/images/loader-small.gif" border="0"/><span>Hämtar data</span></div></div>'; infowindow.setContent(ret); infowindow.open(map,marker); getMarkerInfo(infowindow,rack_id); }); } function addPlacemark (lat,lng,title, rack_id) { var image = new google.maps.MarkerImage('http://www.google.com/intl/en_us/mapfiles/ms/micons/blue-dot.png', new google.maps.Size(32, 32), new google.maps.Point(0,0), new google.maps.Point(0, 32)); var shadow = new google.maps.MarkerImage('http://maps.google.com/mapfiles/shadow50.png', new google.maps.Size(37, 34), new google.maps.Point(0,0), new google.maps.Point(-4, 34)); var location = new google.maps.LatLng(lat,lng); var marker = new google.maps.Marker({ position: location, map: map, icon: image, shadow: shadow}); marker.setTitle(title); attachSecretMessage(marker, rack_id); } // Get all the racks $.ajax({ type: "GET", url: webroot+"ajax/getRacks/"+hash, cache: false, dataType: "xml", success: function(xml) { // Add the results $(xml).find("station").each(function () { rack_id = $(this).find("rack_id").text(); title = $(this).find("description").text(); longitute = parseFloat($(this).find("longitute").text()); latitude = parseFloat($(this).find("latitude").text()); addPlacemark(latitude, longitute, title, rack_id); }); } }); $("#addMark").click(function () { addPlacemark (59.32045, 18.066902); }); // Set size setPageSize(); }); //--> </script> I hope somebody can help me. Best regards, Paul Peelen

  • how to use WaitForSingleobject

    - by Tyzak
    hello in order to try out how to programm with the win32 api i wrote a programm that creates a process. then i want to check if my proccess waits for the new created process, close the handle and then check waitforsingle obj. again. (the seconde process is sleeping for 700 ms) first process: #include <iostream> #include <windows.h> #include <string> using namespace std; void main() { bool ret; bool retwait; STARTUPINFO startupinfo; GetStartupInfo (&startupinfo); PROCESS_INFORMATION pro2info; wchar_t wcsCommandLine[] = L"D:\\betriebssystemePRA1PRO2.exe"; ret = CreateProcess(NULL, wcsCommandLine, NULL, NULL, false, CREATE_NEW_CONSOLE, NULL, NULL, &startupinfo, &pro2info); cout<<"hProcess: "<<pro2info.hProcess<<endl; cout<<"dwProcessId: "<<pro2info.dwProcessId <<endl; if (retwait= WaitForSingleObject (pro2info.hProcess, INFINITE)==true) cout<<"waitprocess:true"<<endl; //prozess ist fertig else cout<<"waitprocess:false"<<endl; CloseHandle (pro2info.hProcess);//prozesshandle schließen, "verliert connection" if (retwait= WaitForSingleObject (pro2info.hProcess, INFINITE)==true)//wenn der prozess fertig ist cout<<"waitprocess:true"<<endl; else cout<<"waitprocess:false"<<endl; //cout<<GetLastError()<<endl; //gibt den letzten fehler aus ExitProcess(0); } seconde process: #include <iostream> #include <windows.h> #include <string> using namespace std; void main() { int b; b=GetCurrentProcessId(); cout<<b<<endl; cout<<"Druecken Sie Enter zum Beenden"<<endl; cin.get(); //warten bis Benutzer bestätigt Sleep (700); ExitProcess(0); cout<<"test"; } the first process prints false, false ; but it should print true, false. instead of the if-else statement is used this: //switch(WaitForSingleObject (pro2info.hProcess, INFINITE)){ // case WAIT_OBJECT_0: cout << "ja"; // break; // case WAIT_FAILED:cout << "nein"; // break; // case WAIT_TIMEOUT: // break; //} // cout<<"waitprocess:true"<<endl;//prozess ist fertig //else // cout<<"waitprocess:false"<<endl; and this seems to work. what did i wrong with my if-else statement? thanks in advance
