  • Rspec Selenium. Test to check certain Ajax functions passes when i expect it to fail.

    I am testing a Ajax action using Rspec and Selenium. My story is as follows: it "should create a new User with any input" do @browser.open "/people" @browser.wait_for_page_to_load "2000" @browser.type "user_name", "Alok Swain" @browser.click "user_submit" @browser.text?("Alok Swain").should be_true end The action i am testing is: def add_user @users = User.all User.create(params[:user]) render :update do |page| page.alert "Created User" page.replace_html "users", :partial => '/people/users_list', :locals => {:users => @users} end end The test fails and the error I get is: 'User should create a new User with any input' FAILED expected false to be true. This test should pass right ? I also kept an alert and tried @browser.is_alert_present.should be_true but i got the same error. I tried @browser.is_text_present("test") and this test succeeded. In the test database a record was created for Alok Swain but when I tried the above assertion it passed when i expected it to fail. Is there any thing else to be done here. What am I missing ?

  • Selenium: Can i test if a page loaded a flash app (ie a swf) properly?

    hi all. I'm writing some selenium tests (in rspec for a rails app). One of my pages loads a swf and while i don't want to test the functionality of this flash app i do want to test that it loaded up ok. Is this possible?   • An IE7 toolbar button, with 2 different *.rc files

    I have a IE 7 button toolbar project on Visual C++. My question is, can my button have 2 *.rc files. Means, by default it will use the 1st *.rc file, and when certain condition achieve inside my *.cpp, the button will be using the 2nd *.rc file. Is this allowed in visual studio or IE7? edit: Both rc files has different information for icon image.

  • Will an ASP.NET MVC 2 app build with the .NET 4.0 RC and VS2010 RC run on a prod server with the .NE

    I have an MVC2 app I developed with the VS2010 RC and the .NET 4.0 RC. My production server and my client's production server have .NET 4.0 RC. Can the RTM of .NET 4.0 on a server support an app developed with the RC technologies? What about the other way around? Can I use VS2010 RTM and deploy an app to production if the prod server is still no the .NET 4.0 RC? Obviously it would be ideal to synch everything up to RTM but I don't have that option right now because the client doesn't have access to VS2010 RTM yet, and they would like to be able to open and build the project.

  • rc.exe from windows sdk missing

    While doing some cleaning and reinstalling on my machine, I obviously cleaned one too many, and now I'm missing a rc.exe that's supposed to go either in my Visual Studio directory (not sure which one) or in my Microsoft SDKs directory. The problem is that I don't want to reinstall the whole OS again, and that rc.exe is part of some SDK freely downloadable from Microsoft (apparently 6.0a version). I can't find it nevertheless. Anyone knows what rc.exe is part of, and what I need to download (and from where) to get it back ?

  • Apache not running from rc.d on FreeBSD

    I'm using FreeBSD 8.3 and Apache 2.2. I didn't install Apache from ports, instead compiled it from source because I wanted to move the binary and configuration to a different path (I'm centering all of the major production daemons and their configurations in a single place). In any case, I based the /usr/local/etc/rc.d/apache22 file on one from a different server where it was installed from ports, I only modified the binary and config paths within. I can manually execute it with /usr/local/etc/rc.d/apache22 start, however even with apache22_enable="YES" in /etc/rc.conf it fails to start. All permissions and ownership are identical to the other server where it works. What am I missing and is there a way to debug this kind of thing?

    I'm having some problem with my centOS machine.I want to insert a line inside the rc.local to execute apache tomcat on startup. Below are the configuration for /etc/rc.local #!/bin/sh # # This script will be executed *after* all the other init scripts. # You can put your own initialization stuff in here if you don't # want to do the full Sys V style init stuff. touch /var/lock/subsys/local /opt/apache-jakarta/bin/startup.sh Unfortunately,the apache tomcat does not start on the boot time. I've already execute the script manually and it is working without any issues. Is there any specific syntax to put script inside the rc.local?Or did I forgetting something?Please Advice.Thanks.     My Selenium test structures goes as - Data Object class - public class RegistrationData { String firstName = "test first name"; String lastName = "test last name"; // Getter Setter Here } Page Object class which carries out operations on a Web Page - public class RegistrationPage { private RegistrationData regData; public void setRegistrationData(RegistrationData regData) { this.regData = regData(); public NewAccountPage fillRegForm() { enterFirstName("FirstNameTextBoxLocator", regData.getFirstName); enterLastName("LastNameTextBoxLocator", regData.getLastName); // Some more fields are filled here return NewAccountPage(); } } And test class uses them as - public class TestRegistration extends SelTestCase { @Test public void testRegNewUser() { RegistrationData regData = new RegistrationData(); RegistrationPage regPage = New RegistrationPage(); regPage.setRegistrationData(regData) regPage.fillRegForm(); // Some assertion here } } Now since fillRegForm method does not take any argument, Can I assume that it is an example of loose coupling despite I need to set RegistrationData in RegistrationPage before being able to use fillRegForm method.

    Earlier today Scott Guthrie announced the ASP.NET MVC 3 - Release Candidate 2. I installed the new version right after the announcement since I was eager to see the new features. Among other cool features included in this release candidate, there is a new ViewBag dynamic which can be used to pass data from Controllers to Views same as you use ViewData[] dictionary. What is great and nice about ViewBag (despite the name) is that its a dynamic type which means you can dynamically get/set values and add any number of additional fields without need of strongly-typed classes. In order to see the difference, please take a look at the following examples.     I found some time over the holidays to finalize the Azure edition of IdentityServer. http://identityserver.codeplex.com/releases/view/81206 The biggest difference to the on-premise version (and earlier Azure betas) is, that by default IdSrv now uses Azure Storage for all data storage (configuration & user data). This means that there is no need anymore for SQL Azure (which is still supported out of the box – just not the default anymore). The download includes a readme file with setup instructions.
