• Find workspace location using ANT

  I'm working on a build script in the Flash Builder version of Eclipse. This build script needs to import launch configuration .launch files into the user's workspace. However there doesn't seem to be an available ANT var for determining the workspace location. While stepping through the available vars with intellisense I noticed that ${osgi.instance.area} does point to my current workspace but when I tried to echo it back in a running ant script it just spat out "${osgi.instance.area}" and not the path. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

• Cannot find maven dependency, mysterious jar files

  Hi, I am trying to build a simple war file which has a few jsps. However I am coming across an odd issue, for some reason during the packaging maven is pulling 4 jar files into the WEB-INF/lib. I have trimmed down all the fat from the pom file, and have grepped for any references to these jars without any success. I cannot figure out where maven is pulling them from. I tried 'mvn dependency:build-classpath' and the classpath is empty. Please help, these jars are corrupt and I cannot deploy this war file because of them. Thanks, natasha

  Hello! Recently I wrote the algorithm to quantize an RGB image. Every pixel is represented by an (R,G,B) vector, and quantization codebook is a couple of 3-dimensional vectors. Every pixel of the image needs to be mapped to (say, "replaced by") the codebook pixel closest in terms of euclidean distance (more exactly, squared euclidean).   I have a problem that seems similar to this fellow - I just want to display the data slightly differently. I'm pretty terrible with SQL so can't modify it to suit, but perhaps someone else can. My table looks similar to this (date format is dd/mm/yyyy): ID User Date_start Role 1 Andy 01/04/2010 A 2 Andy 10/04/2010 B 3 Andy 20/04/2010 A 4 John 02/05/2010 A I want to show the total number of days that anyone was in a certain role. Users stay in the role until there is another entry into the table. Users can only be in one role at a time. If I use FULL JOIN I'll get no differences as substr(account.ACC,1,4) = substr(flex.ACC,1,4) are equal and others are equal and MINUS doesn't work because ID's different. Thanks.

  I have a project that is build up from several OSGi bundles. One of them is a generic Database bundle that defines a DataSource that can be used throughout the project. The spring bean definition of this service is: <osgi:service interface="javax.sql.DataSource"> <bean class="org.postgresql.ds.PGPoolingDataSource"> <property name="databaseName" value="xxx" /> <property name="serverName" value="xxx" /> <property name="user" value="xxx" /> <property name="password" value="xxx" /> </bean> </osgi:service> Now, when using this DataSource is a different bundle, we get an error: No suitable driver found for jdbc:postgresql://localhost/xxx I have tried the following to add the org.postgresql.Driver to the DriverManager: Instantiated an empty bean for that Driver in the spring context, like this: <bean class="org.postgresql.Driver" /> Instantiated the Driver statically in one of the classes, like this: Class.forName("org.postgresql.Driver"); Added a file META-INF\services\java.sql.Driver with the content org.postgresql.Driver None of these solutions seems to help.

• Simple jQuery code contains a syntax error that I can't find

  I've got this (remarkably) simple JavaScript function that is called when a user clicks a "Cancel" link: function hideNewUserPanel(){ $('#create_user_panel').slideUp('slow'); $('.right_interior_panel').slideDown('slow'); } And the code to add the handler: $(function(){ $('#cancel_create_user_btn').live('click', function(){ hideNewUserPanel(); } }); Functionally, everything works as expected. Trouble is, when I click the "Cancel" link, Firebug shows an error in the console: uncaught exception: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: # I've stepped through the code several times and the error appears at some point before the call to hideNewUserPanel(). At the risk of sounding like one of "those programmers" (the kind that claim to have found a bug in GCC and assume their own code is perfect), the exception is being thrown from somewhere within jQuery proper, so I assume the issue is in there. I'm using jQuery 1.3.2 (this is a legacy project using many jQuery plugins that will break if we update to 1.4.x). Is there anything obviously wrong with my code that I'm simply not seeing? This code is, frankly, very simple and I don't really see what the issue could be. Thanks!

  I'm looking for a good algorithm to get all the elements in one array that are not elements in another array. So given these arrays: var x = ["a","b","c","t"]; var ?????????y = [???????"d","a","t","e","g"]; I want to end up with this array: var z = ["d","e","g"]; I'm using jquery, so I can take advantage of $.each() and $.inArray(). The "go" function is directly coupled to a datagrid in an aspx page. The only way to inspect the returned datatable, is to use a temporary variable... However, that's a bit inconvenient. Isn't there another way?

• g++ linker can't find const member function

  I have a Point class (with integer members x and y) that has a member function withinBounds that is declared like so: bool withinBounds(const Point&, const Point&) const; and defined like this: bool Point::withinBounds(const Point& TL, const Point& BR) const { if(x < TL.getX()) return false; if(x > BR.getX()) return false; if(y < TL.getY()) return false; if(y > BR.getY()) return false; // Success return true; } and then in another file, I call withinBounds like this: Point pos = currentPlayer->getPosition(); if(pos.withinBounds(topleft, bottomright)) { // code block } This compiles fine, but it fails to link. g++ gives me this error: /home/max/Desktop/Development/YARL/yarl/src/GameData.cpp:61: undefined reference to 'yarl::utility::Point::withinBounds(yarl::utility::Point const&, yarl::utility::Point const&)' When I make the function not const, it links fine. Anyone know the reason why? The linker error looks like it's looking for a non-const version of the function, but I don't know why it would.

• Regular expression does not find the first occurrence

  I have the following input to a perl script and I wish to get the first occurrence of NAME="..." strings in each of the ... structures. The entire file is read into a single string and the reg exp acts on that input. However, the regex always returns the LAST occurrence of NAME="..." strings.   I am trying to clean the holes out of my Mac address book. As a first step I want to ask all my friends for their birth day, to be able to congratulate them with cheesy Hallmark cards. I need a "group" in my address book, to mailmerge personalized messages from.   I've got a list of names which some code checks against to see if the person exists, and if so do some stuff.. My issue is that I want to handle the case of the name being entered incorrectly.. I.e. I have a list of names Bob Frank Tom Tim John If I type in Joohn, I want it to ask me if I meant John. If I type Tm, I get asked if I meant Tim, if I say no, it asks if i meant Tom.. Etc.. Has anyone done something like this before?
