Hello, I've a system, that have two types of users (Companies and individuals).all types have a shared set of properties but they differ in another. What is the best design merge all in one table that allows null for unmatched properties, or separate them in two tables related to a basic table with a one to one relationship. Thanks.

  • PHP: Collect all variables passed to a function as array?

    - by Industrial
    Hi everybody, I was thinking about the possibility of accessing all the variables that are passed into an function, and merge them into an array. (Without passing variables into an array from the beginning) Pseudo-code: // Call function newFunction('one', 'two', 'three' ) ;// All values are interpreted as a one rray in some way // Function layout newFunction( ) { // $functionvariables = array( All passed variables) foreach ($functionvariable as $k => $v) { // Do stuff } }

  • Reordering of commits

    - by Peter
Hi, I'm currently working on a branch and want some commits to merge into other branches: /--a--b--c--d--e--f--g----- branchA (letters are commits) --o--------------------------- master -------------------------- branchB However I noticed that it would be a good idea to pool some commits. I want to "concatenate" commit a, d, e and g into one patch and commit it to master. Commits b and f should go as one commit to branchB. Is there a good 'git'-ish way to achieve it?

  • merging indexed array in Python

    - by leon
    Suppose that I have two numpy arrays of the form x = [[1,2] [2,4] [3,6] [4,NaN] [5,10]] y = [[0,-5] [1,0] [2,5] [5,20] [6,25]] is there an efficient way to merge them such that I have xmy = [[0, NaN, -5 ] [1, 2, 0 ] [2, 4, 5 ] [3, 6, NaN] [4, NaN, NaN] [5, 10, 20 ] [6, NaN, 25 ] I can implement a simple function using search to find the index but this is not elegant and potentially inefficient for a lot of arrays and large dimensions. Any pointer is appreciated.

  • git partial pull

    - by KennyTM
I am maintaining a repository A. Another contributor has cloned A to another repository B. Later, the other contributor added files F, which is irrelevant to me, into B. Now I want to merge changes in B back to A, but without committing F. How to do so?

  • Updating a sql server table with data from another table

    - by David G
I have two basic SQL Server tables: Customer (ID [pk], AddressLine1, AddressLine2, AddressCity, AddressDistrict, AddressPostalCode) CustomerAddress(ID [pk], CustomerID [fk], Line1, Line2, City, District, PostalCode) CustomerAddress contains multiple addresses for the Customer record. For each Customer record I want to merge the most recent CustomerAddress record where most recent is determined by the highest CustomerAddress ID value. I've currently got the following: UPDATE Customer SET AddressLine1 = CustomerAddress.Line1, AddressPostalCode = CustomerAddress.PostalCode FROM Customer, CustomerAddress WHERE Customer.ID = CustomerAddress.CustomerID which works but how can I ensure that the most recent (highest ID) CustomerAddress record is selected to update the Customer table?

  • Concatenating an array of arrays in Coffeescript

    - by user380572
Hi everyone, I'm trying to find an elegant way in Coffeescript to merge an array of arrays, so that [[1,2,3],[4,5,6],[7,8,9]] == [1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9]. As you might imagine, I need this because I'm generating arrays from a function in a "for in" construct and need to concatenate the resulting nested array: result = (generate_array(x) for x in arr) Is there an elegant way to handle this? Thanks for any pointers!

  • merging in python

    - by Abruzzo Forte e Gentile
    Hi all I have the following 4 arrays ( grouped in 2 groups ) that I would like to merge in ascending order by the keys array. I can use also dictionaries as structure if it is easier. Has python any command or something to make this quickly possible? Regards MN # group 1 [7, 2, 3, 5] #keys [10,11,12,26] #values [0, 4] #keys [20, 33] #values # I would like to have [ 0, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 ] # ordered keys [20, 11,12,33,26,33] # associated values

    - by Tsf
I found in http://svn.python.org/projects/doctools/trunk/sphinx/locale support for several languages that can be used in Sphinx but I did not find the instructions on how to install it: which files should be downloaded and installed in which directories? Any hint would be appreciated.

  • Alternatives to persisting objects than using __destruct() in PHP

    - by Michael
I usually use a classes destructor method __destruct() to persist objects to session or what have you. It is just very convinient, but I'm curious to if there are any other methods that are equally appealing. Do you know of such? The curiousity arose as I was to merge/utilize two frameworks that both made use of __destruct() for persistance resulting in a race-problem.
