• ssis package from SQL agent failed

  I have simple package which reads data from csv file and loads into SQL table. File is located on another server and it is shared. I use UNC path in package. package is scheduled using sql agent job. Job worked fine for 1 week and suddenly started giving error "The file name "\\124.0.48.173\basel2\Commercial\Input\ACBS_GSU.csv" specified in the connection was not valid. End Error Error: 2010-04-20 16:15:07.19 Code: 0xC0202070 Source: ACBS_GSU Connection manager "CSV file conection" Description: Connection "CSV file conection" failed validation." Any help will be appreciated.

• installing Delphi5 pro in windows 64b

  Please dont laugh . Over the past 15 years or so I've written all the software that runs my medical practice in D5. Last week when I went to DelphiArea to update a component I got attacked and my disk became unbootable/unrecoverable. I have my original D5p disk and all the components backed up but I want to migrate to W7. I don't care if my delphi apps look like vista/7, I just want to be able to install it and code on the machine again for maintenance purposes. 1) are there any tricks to install D5 so it works in W7? 2) is using a vm program really the only/best way? if so, which is suggested.   I went through the dev portal provisioning process twice now trying to get it to work, but to no avail. I don't think it's the second half (signature is invalid), I think it actually may have to with my binary. I have a warning in xcode that isn't helping me because I don't know what to do about it. And honestly I don't know how relevant this information even is. But it says: "Check Dependencies: Warning: The copy bundle resources build phase contains target's info.plist" The app runs perfectly in the simulator, and I haven't made any changes to the info.plist since I submitted the app to Apple last week. (this is an update) any suggestions?

• Looking for a file database

  A few years ago there was a PHP script around called paFileDB. Essentially it created a database of files that end users could download and rate. It would keep track of the number of downloads as well. I am looking for a replacement of this coded in ASP.net C#. For the last week I have been searching around for "asp.net C# file database" and have just gotten how to upload files to a database. I have also search with some other terms. I do not need a full blown CMS like DotNetNuke or SharePoint. All I have been looking for is a system I could easily add to my existing .net C# site. I have thought about coding one myself, but with me being rather busy at work and this being a personal project, I simply do not have the time to code this myself. I hope that you guys can help.   In various places I've seen the claim that by designing a system up-front, you can significantly reduce development time. I.e. by spending an hour designing you can save a week coding. My problem is that I have never seen a situation where I found this to be true. So I want to know of any examples out there that people have where this would be true: So: What sort of problem arose during coding? (or was avoided?) How could you have avoided (or did avoid) the problem by spending more time doing design? Why was it (or would it have been) hard to fix the problem in the code?

• Can I create a new project based on an abandoned one licenced under GNU GPL v2?

  I've found a SourceForge project with a solid core that I would like to improve. The project hasn't been updated since 2007 so I assume it is "dead". I sent an e-mail asking to become a contributor to the listed project manager last week but still haven't received a response. The project is licensed under the GNU GPL v2. I would like to contribute to the current project but that doesn't appear to be possible. Can I modify the current source version of the project and release this modified project? I would keep the same license on the modified project.

• Building FFmpeg for Android

  I've spent almost a week on this now, trying to get FFmpeg "Angel" to build for Android. I've tried build scripts from all over the internet to no avail. I got closest was using this. A sthe author himself says the script doesn't work for newer versions of FFmpeg due to this bug, which has been dismissed on that ticket saying "I found a Makefile that does it." This was dis-heartening, being the only post on all of the cast Google world that was anywhere close to my problem. So, question time: Is there a way to get around the above bug? I'm trying to use the newest ffmpeg API, and "Love" is just giving me "undefined reference" errors while trying to use av_encode_video2(), and av_free_frame(). The code I was working on the lines of is at the ffmpeg git repo, under /doc/examples/decoding_encoding.c (the function starting on line 338)

• Why does Net::Twitter complain "HTTP::Message content not bytes"?

  We have been using Perl's Net:Twitter CPAN module (version 3.12) and basic authentication (not OAuth) for almost a year now to syndicate updates from our site to our Twitter account. We just migrated to a new server last week and since the move our updates to Twitter have stopped and the following error is being reported whenever we try to post an update: HTTP::Message content not bytes at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/HTTP/Request/Common.pm line 90 Here is the code we're using the update our Twitter account: use Net::Twitter; my $twitter = Net::Twitter->new( traits => [qw/API::REST/], username => $username, password => $password, source => 'twitterfeed' ); my $result = $twitter->update($status); I have no idea what the issue is and was hoping that someone else has run into this issue and can provide a quick solution. • Giving Users an Option Between UDP & TCP?

  After studying TCP/UDP difference all week, I just can't decide which to use. I have to send a large amount of constant sensor data, while at the same time sending important data that can't be lost. This made a perfect split for me to use both, then I read a paper (http://www.isoc.org/INET97/proceedings/F3/F3_1.HTM) that says using both causes packet/performance loss in the other. Is there any issue presented if I allow the user to choose which protocol to use (if I program both server side) instead of choosing myself? Are there any disadvantages to this? The only other solution I came up with is to use UDP, and if there seems to be too great of loss of packets, switch to TCP (client-side).

• How to play audio podcast file from libsyn rss feed? (drupal)

  Got an established libsyn rss feed, got a new drupal website for the podcast. Libsyn provides a player but not correct aesthetic. I can upload and play mp3 files with audio module and mp3player module, and like the mp3 player's output, a simple flash player, but I don't want to be manually moving the podcast audio files (mp3) over every week. Looked at importing automatically with Feeds, but it's not working and besides that's creating extra files unnecessarily on the drupal site. Just want to use the mp3player modulee's flash player in a drupal page, which feeds the latest mp3 file from a libsyn rss feed. Don't really need to store or play multiple episodes, just the latest episode. How would you do it?

• Memcachedb Versus MongoDB Versus CouchDB in terms of file based caching solution?

  We need a caching solution that essentially caches data (text files) anywhere from 3 days up to a week based on user preferences and criteria. In this case memory based caching does not make sense to us. We were referred to MemcacheDB however I also thought of some NO SQL solutions. Our current application uses RDMS (MYSQL) and I guess it makes sense to use MemcacheDB however NOSQL does appeal as it is something more on the horizon. However we have not deployed a production level application under NOSQL and the beta stuff does not settle well with management/investors. Any how what are your thoughts and how would you address it? • JBoss envers and huge audit tables

  All, I am auditing my JEE application with JBoss Evers and the nature of my application causes the audit table to grow very fast. The historic data is queried infrequently and access time is not really an issue, apart from the data from the last week. This data IS queried frequently and access needs to be fast. Ideally, I would split the data and distribute it over two tables, with the older data in compressed format. Unfortunately, Envers does not allow spreading data over multiple tables as far as I can tell from the docs. Does somebody have any idea what would be the best way to achieve this (if possible while still using Envers)? Cheers, LeChe

• jQuery UI Slider Problem

  I have been using jQuery sliders for about a week now without issues in my project, but I just hit an issue. I am adding 3 sliders to my page All 3 are added exact same way (like this): $('#slider_id').slider({value:100,'slide':function(e, ui){// some code}}); 2 work properly One does not work (it gives me a fiebug error 'f is undefined') when I drag the slider handle The only glaring difference I can see is that the one giving the error is inside of a jQuery UI dialog(). Interestingly, when I place it outside of the dialog, it works! So, wondering if there are known issues with sliders inside dialogs, and/or if there are any workarounds. Thanks

• Possible Google Analytics Bug - Traffic Sources Total Visits not matching Total Visits in other repo

  Hello, Has anyone else seen this issue? As of roughly 2 weeks ago, I get conflicting figures for the Total Visits metric between the Traffic Sources report and the other reports (e.g. Visitors, Dashboard). For example, for the week of 5/9/2010 through 5/15/2010, the Dashboard and Visitors reports both say 386 Visits. The Traffic Sources report says 157 Visits, and the 4 main source types (Search, Direct, Referral, Other) sum to 157 Visits, not 386. Any ideas? Is this a known bug, or could there be a configuration issue? Thanks.

• What is Perl's secret of getting small code do so much?

  I've seen many (code-golf) Perl programs out there and even if I can't read them (Don't know Perl) I wonder how you can manage to get such a small bit of code to do what would take 20 lines in some other programming language. What is the secret of Perl? Is there a special syntax that allows you to do complex tasks in few keystrokes? Is it the mix of regular expressions? I'd like to learn how to write powerful and yet short programs like the ones you know from the code-golf challenges here. What would be the best place to start out? I don't want to learn "clean" Perl - I want to write scripts even I don't understand anymore after a week. If there are other programming languages out there with which I can write even shorter code, please tell me.

• Oracle: delete suddenly taking a long time

  Hi We have a feed process which runs every day of the year. As part of that we delete every row from a table (approx 1 million rows) every day, repopulate it using 5 different stored procedures and then commit the transaction. This is the only commit statement that we call. All of a sudden the delete has started takign about 2 hours to complete. The delete is also very simple (delete from T_PROFILE_WORK) This has worked perfectly well for the past year, but in the past week i have noticed this issue. • Find all html characters in drop-down option text and replace them via jQuery

  I have a dropdown menu that pulls in text from a database column. The database column can include HTML mark-up. In the drop-down I obviously don't need that in the text. I am working on some jquery and it partially accomplished what I'm looking for.   Hi, I've started using mvvm-light toolkit , and new to WPF. My question is: I want to create an pplication where the main window includes a grid with 2 columns 1 col command and col2 will display views when each command will be pressed. i want the views to be created on command and colsed from it's own view. I've tried to figure out how to do it but with no success. I don't know how to write this kind of funconality using the mvvm light.   Don't know if this is possible, but I'd like to select records based on the field value of recur_type, where the 'm' is the day of the week. • SQL Server Service Broker Service Disappearing (Automatically Deleted)?

  I've implemented a messaging system over SQL Server Service Broker. It is working great, with the sole exception that every once in a while (maybe once per week per server) my initiator service just vanishes without a trace. The corresponding queue is still there, but the service is missing. Obviously this causes problems in my system. It's a simple matter to recreate the service by hand, but I'm confused as to what might cause this behavior. I understand that automatic poison message handling causes queues to be disabled, but I don't see anything that indicates services can be disabled or deleted automatically. When this happens, I usually have a large backlog of messages in multiple application queues, but nothing extreme. Total message backlog is around 200,000. Does anyone know what might be happening here?

Suppose a table of weekly movie Earnings as below, MovieName MovieGross WeekofYear Year So how do I get the names of top grossers for each week of this year If I do select MovieName , Max(MovieGross) , WeekofYear from earnings where year = 2010 group by WeekofYear; Then obviously query wont run, select Max(MovieName) , Max(MovieGross) , WeekofYear from earnings where year = 2010 group by WeekofYear; would just give movies starting with lowest alphabet Is using group-concat and then substring-index the only option here? select substring_index(group_concat(MovieName order by MovieGross desc),',',1), Max(MovieGross) , WeekofYear from earnings where year = 2010 group by WeekofYear ; Seems clumsy.. Is there any better way of acieveing this?

• Two Instances of Sql Server (2005 and 2008)

  Hi All, I installed Visual Studio 2008 Professional in my machine and It had installed SQL Server Express 2005 database in machine, and I use it very fine! I installed SQL Managment Studio and works great. So, in this week I Installed Visual Studio 2010 Pro in machine and the setup installed the SQL Server express 2008 and it overwrite the instance of my SQL Server Express 2005. All right, Now, I'd like to know how can I have two instances of the SQL Server Express in my Machine, Express 2005 and Express 2008. I can not access the 2005 , only 2008 :( and my projects uses 2005.. Somebody Help me! thanks Bye
