  When running a groovy script from Eclipse, the following line: def rootLoader = this.class.getClassLoader().getRootLoader() is null. When I run the script directly from command line, this is not null. How can I find out why this happens?

• Manually Increasing the Amount of CPU a Java Application Uses

  I've just made a program with Eclipse that takes a really long time to execute. It's taking even longer because it's loading my CPU to 25% only (I'm assuming that is because I'm using a quad-core and the program is only using one core). Is there any way to make the program use all 4 cores to max it out? Java is supposed to be natively multi-threaded, so I don't understand why it would only use 25%.

  in the navigator i can only see the current class' members. is there a way to include the parents' members. cause it is very useful when working with a framework, then you don't have to look for them in the documentation. i think this is available in eclipse but not netbeans.

  In every modern day IDE and text editor, there is an action to open a file without putting your hand on the mouse. For example: Eclipse: Cmd|Ctrl+Shift+R - Open Resource IntellIJ: Cmd|Ctrl+Shift+N - Open File TextMate: Cmd+T - Go to File In Xcode, I have found no such options. Please, please tell me I just overlooked it in my growing frustration. Is there a "Go to file" or "Open File" shortcut in Xcode?

• Possible to change where Android Virtual Devices are saved?

  I've set up the Android SDK and Eclipse on my machine running Windows XP and AVDs (Android Virtual Devices) are saved to "Documents and Settings\user\.android" by default. Is there any way to change this behavior? I have all of the other components saved in a directory on a separate partition and would like everything to be consolidated. Obviously not a huge deal but does anyone here know a workaround for this?

What I would like is something that is somewhere between a simple text editor and a full-blown IDE like Eclipse. I would like syntax highlighting, a way to see all classes/methods defined in a file, a way to find where a particular method is called from and where a variable is declared/defined. Any ideas? BTW. Eclipse is reporting an error on the second line with message Invalid lvalue in increment so i'm trying to figure out how to solve this.
