    Hi! I'm doing my VERY first project using python/django/eclipse/pydev following this guide http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/intro/tutorial01/ My only addition is the use of Eclipse/pydev. I'm getting many errors related to "Unresolved imports". I can remove the errors using "remove error markers" and my site runs perfect (I can browse it) but I want to get rid definitively of this problem since errors appear again after I removed them. Any ideas?

  • Can standard Sun javac do incremental compiling?

    Recently I started to use Eclipse's java compiler, because it is significantly faster than standard javac. I was told that it's faster because it performs incremental compiling. But I'm still a bit unsure about this since I can't find any authoritative documentation about both - eclispse's and sun's - compilers "incremental feature". Is it true that Sun's compiler always compiles every source file and Eclipse's compiler compile only changed files and those that are affected by such a change?

  • What does "Computing additional info" mean?

    Eclipse Helios periodically starts running a job which displays "Computing additional info". During this time, Eclipse is very sluggish, bordering on unusable. What does this job do? Can I shut it off? I just hope that someone in the JDT team comes to sense and gets rid of it, make it go faster, or at the very least change it to something meaningful.

    Whenever I switch to DDMS view and start method profiling, I get the following error message when I stop profiling: Method Profiling Error: Unable to download trace file: Remote object doesn't exist! This only happens with 1.6 and 2.1 AVDs, 2.2 and 2.3 work fine. I've been having this problem ever since the latest update to the Eclipse Android plugin. I'm using Eclipse 3.5.2 on Ubuntu 10.04 with Android Development Toolkit version 8.0.0.v201011171904-77661. Let me know if you need any more information.

    Is there a difference between a package and a folder in eclipse? for example, if I have this hierarchy requirement: java –classpath C:\ChatCompany\BackendChatServer\ -Djava.security.policy=c:\HW2\permissions.policy hw2.chat.backend.main.ChatBackendServer when the package's name is: "hw2.chat.backend.main" and "ChatCompany\BackendChatServer\" is the folder name, then how can I make this separation between a package and a folder in eclipse, so that I can write "package hw2.chat.backend.main" and not "package ChatCompany.BackendChatServer.hw2.chat.backend.main"? thanks

There is an stop button on the progress view and I want to create some kind of listener to handle the events of the chancel button, but I don't know how I can do it. Now, when i press "Finish" on the final step of the wizard it remain open and an empty project with white-marked packages is added to the work branch, I tried to reinstall eclipse and it's sdk+plug, still nothing. I would like to move a CheckBox, so it displays in a different location than the top-left corner under Absolute Layout inside main.xml, for 'Android'. I'm using Eclipse to edit my views. First as part of running eclipse:eclipse plugin I create a linked folder like below: <linkedResources> <linkedResource> <name>properties</name> <type>2</type> <location>${PARENT-2-PROJECT_LOC}/some_other_project/properties</location> </linkedResource> <linkedResource> <name>properties/messages.properties</name> <type>1</type> <location>${PARENT-2-PROJECT_LOC}/some_other_project/properties/messages.properties</location> </linkedResource> And then I am adding that folder as a source folder like below: <plugin> <groupId>org.codehaus.mojo</groupId> <artifactId>build-helper-maven-plugin</artifactId> <version>1.7</version> <executions> <execution> <id>add-source</id> <phase>generate-sources</phase> <goals> <goal>add-source</goal> </goals> <configuration> <sources> <source>properties</source> <source>some_real_folder</source> </sources> </configuration> </execution> </executions> </plugin> However when I am looking at the generated .classpath in eclipse the “some_real_folder” is there but the “properties” is not. It looks like by default the build-helper-maven-plugin will check if the folder is there and if it is not it won’t add it. I am using maven 3.0.4 outside eclipse to run the build and I can see in the maven logs something like this: [INFO] Source directory: <some path>\properties added. This is my project structure: project1 \-- properties (this is the real folder) project2 \-- some_real_folder \-- properties (this is the link resource pointing to the project1/properties folder) All I need is to have both "some_real_folder" and the linked resource "properties" added to the .classpath of the project2
