    I have a Dell All-in-One 810 printer from years ago and only recently installed it (a few months ago). Later I had reason to uninstall and re-install the printer but whenever I connect the printer Windows installs the printer drivers from its cache without the CD. How can I remove all traces of the drivers from the cache so that it will install only from the CD and not from the Windows driver cache?

    Hello, A co-worker of mine is using an air-card; it prompted him to install software in the notification tray; he clicked on the wrong thing and the icon went away without him installing that software. How can I get that icon back? He can't install the software then... I know that you can download the software from the site, but we did that and were having issues from that too, was hoping to be able to install the sofware on the air card... Restarting and trying again doesn't pop up the notification too. Thanks.

    After installing IIS on my dev system, window xp professional, its asking for username and password while trying to access http://localhost. Can you please help me out. Tried googling and tried may things but could not resolve the issue.     I have been reinstalling Windows 7 over and over again on an ASUS P5lD2 2Gb Ram 3Ghz P4 because it ultimately loses the contents of "Turn Windows Features On or Off" after I install software like Autocad 2010 & Microsoft Office 2007. I get install errors like 1935 and 1704 on the way tried different fixes at different times (install software in different order to try and isolate problem too). Ultimately I force the software to install after much buggering and end up losing the contents of "TWFOOO" Should I be installing some older items like .net framework 1.1, 2.0 and Visual Studio items like vcredist_x86.exe? getting a bit lost because of compounded problems...

  • USB Virus, "Program too big to fit in memory"?

    I got an installer for a piece of software via usb from a friend.Now what was weird was that although my friend and I had the same OS, same brand of laptop and I had a newer version (though I don't think this quite matters), the installer was running properly for him but not for me. It just showed a command line window and exited. I ran it via a batch file in which I included "pause" after running it. Here's the screenshot: Later my friend called me and told me that it was the USB that was the problem. It had some kind of virus on it and it corrupted every executable or folder on it , and it renamed all the sub_files inside folders to some weird jargon. He had tried using another USB and the installer worked fine. Now the friend has (unfortunately) gone back to his city and I can't get the installer again from him. My question is: Is there any way to repair the installer executable and run it? and Do you think the virus has infected my PC? (I have run a system scan with my antivirus and it showed nothing but still I'm worried)

    I am trying to install a program on my Win7 machine and it says that I need to have .NET 2.0 or later installed. Since Win7 comes with .NET pre-installed, I called support and they told me to just re-install .NET since my .NET install is probably corrupted. The program I am trying to install is SNGWiz (http://www.sngwiz.com/). I do not think its installer is borked. However, when I install .NET 3.5 SP1 using the download from the Microsoft .NET web site, I get the following error: "You must use 'Turn Windows features on or off' in the Control Panel to install or configure Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1." I have gone to the Windows Features on/off panel and have turned 3.5 both on and off and have tried to re-install .NET 3.5 SP1 under both situations. But it has failed with the same error. What to do?

    I've got a Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit from MSDN Subscriber Downloads. The downloaded ISO boots fine from both a USB pen drive and a DVD on other computers. On the Acer it doesn't boot. The Acer iDea 500 can boot, and install, Windows XP Mediacenter from a DVD with slipstreamed SATA drives on it. Also, all kinds of Linux distros works perfectly fine on the iDea 500. I wouldn't mind using Mythbuntu instead of Windows 7 Ultimate, but it doesn't work very well.

  • ubuntu 9.10 installer doesn't recognize the hard drive

    I downloaded Ubuntu 9.10 x86_64 and am trying to install it on a fairly modern system with a Gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3 motherboard. Ubuntu 9.04 installed fine and still will when I stick that disc in, but 9.10 doesn't see my hard drive (western digital 250GB). If I boot from the disc, I can install gparted and it does recognize the drive, but when I try to start the install process from the live disc, Ubuntu again doesn't recognize the hard drive. I checked /var/log/messages and see this: Nov 12 17:28:08 ubuntu activate-dmraid: Serial ATA RAID disk(s) detected. If this was bad, boot with 'nodmraid'. Nov 12 17:28:08 ubuntu activate-dmraid: Enabling dmraid support Nov 12 17:28:08 ubuntu activate-dmraid: ERROR: either the required RAID set not found or more options required. I checked my BIOS, SATA is enabled and is set to IDE mode, so there shouldn't be software RAID, but nonetheless, I added nodmraid to the boot line and tried again. If this was boad, boot with 'nodmraid'.     I tried to install Visio on Windows 7, but I received the below error message. You cannot install the 64-bit version of Office 2010 because you have 32-bit Office products installed. These 32-bit products are not supported with 64-bit installations: Microsoft Office Single Image 2010 If you want to install 64-bit Office 2010, you must uninstall all 32-bit Office products first, and then run setup.exe in the x64 folder. If you want to install 32-bit Office 2010, close this Setup program, and then either go to the x86 folder at the root of your CD or DVD and run setup.exe, or get the 32-bit Office 2010 from the same place you purchased 64-bit Office 2010. I cannot find Microsoft Office Single Image 2010 in the programs list, so I tried to use Microsoft's Fix It to remove the software, but this doesn't resolve my issue.

Should I just ignore this error? I can't even find a plain English explanation of what libopensp is.

    I'm trying to update my ruby install on Leopard to at least 1.9.1. I found a tutorial that tells me how to do it with RVM and I get as far as downloading, configuring and compiling the version I want, but during the compile I get errors.     I downloaded latest php version from php.net i.e. PHP 5.4.8 I configured it with following command ./configure --with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs --with-mysql --enable-intl --with-libdir=lib64 --with-pear --with-mcrypt --with-mhash --enable-mbstring --with-iconv --with-icu-dir=/usr --with-gettext --with-curl --with-mysqli --with-freetype --with-gd --with-curlwrappers --with-jpeg-dir=/usr --with-png-dir=/usr After this I run 'make' which start building / compiling PHP. After some time It throws me error ext/intl/.libs/php_intl.o: In function `zm_startup_intl': php-5.4.8/ext/intl/php_intl.c:651: undefined reference to `spoofchecker_register_Spoofchecker_class' php-5.4.8/ext/intl/php_intl.c:654: undefined reference to `spoofchecker_register_constants' collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make: *** [sapi/cli/php] Error 1 Spent lots of hours finding solutions. I can't come out of any. Does anyone know what this error exactly means? How to get rid of this error?

  • Problem booting hard drive after installing Centos from USB Stick

    Here is the situation, I created a Centos Live 5.4 Bootable USB drive. I used this to install Centos on a HP Netbook. BTW: the Netbook doesn't have a CDRom so I used the usb key. When the system goes to write the Grub boot loader to disk, it wants to write the boot loader to the usb drive (/dev/sda), not the hard disk (/dev/hda). I do have the option of writing the boot loader to /dev/hda, (not to the mbr!) but when I reboot I get an load error and the Grub prompt. How can I get Centos booting from the hard disk instead of using the USB key. Thanks.

    I've bought a wireless router which I'm installing with a Telstra BigPond cable modem for a friend. As part of the setup I've got to a screen requesting username / password / authentication server for the cable modem They have contacted Telstra who supply the username / password and say that is all they need. They dont know anything about an authentication server. I guess if I dont get anything more here I'll try what it says on whirlpool and see what happens.

    I wanted to take a sneak peak at Windows 7 so I thought of installing it. I have Windows Vista on my laptop which came pre-installed with it. I didnt want to mess with it. So I created a partition (20 GB) in my USB external hard disk and tried to install Windows 7 on that partition. But when I booted from Windows 7 DVD and selected the target partition on USB hard disk, it said it cannot be installed. Is there any way to install windows on external USB hard disk?

  • Office 2010 always reconfiguring itself on startup

    I've just installed Office 2010 Professional Plus (upgrading from Office 2007). It works fine under my admin account, but when I login with my wifes non-admin account, every time I open a document or start an app (Word, Excel, Publisher ...) Office 2010 goes through its configuration process (starting the the standard install dialog and then running the bootstrap process) before it loads the app - which wastes 2-3 minutes. Once it's done this, the app runs fine and I can make setting changes that are remembered when it restarts, but I can't work out why it thinks it needs to configure the app each time. Any thoughts?
