  I have a bunch of links in a document which has to be replaced by a javascript call. All the links looks the same: <a href="http://domain/ViewDocument.aspx?id=3D1&doc=form" target="_blank">Document naam 1</a> <a href="http://domain/ViewDocument.aspx?id=3D2&doc=form" target="_blank">Document naam 2</a> <a href="http://domain/ViewDocument.aspx?id=3D3&doc=form" target="_blank">Document naam 3</a> Now I want all this links to be replaced to: <a href="javascript:loadDocument('1','form')">Document naam 1</a> <a href="javascript:loadDocument('2','form')">Document naam 2</a> <a href="javascript:loadDocument('3','form')">Document naam 3</a> So the Id=3D in the url is the first parameter in the function and the doc parameter is the second parameter in the function call. I want to do this using Regex because I think this is the quickest way. But the problem is my regex knowledge is too limited

• Render SVG font in Adobe Illistrator or Corel Draw

  Hello! I'm developing a project that produces SVG files with custom embed fonts. SVG font definition I compose as SVG font tag with help of http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fontface/generator or Batik SVG Toolkit. The resulted SVG file I try to open in following applications: Adobe Illustrator CS4 - text has default font and message noticed about font not found in system CorelDRAW X5 - text has default font and any messages don't noticed Batik SVG Browser (Squiggle) - renders text correctly The problem is all modern typographies use CorelDRAW and Abode Illustrator for print vector graphic and them render not correctly SVG. Solution As for me, I see follow solutions: Save the text with custom font as SVG path. This will work but, I can't find any solution that can convert text + TTF to SVG path data; Use other vector format, f.e. AI, EPS or CDR. This solution is difficult for me, because I use SVG paths as part of input data; Recommend our users to use Batik SVG Browser (Squiggle) or any other application which are based on Batik SVG Toolkit library. Batik SVG Toolkit requires Java runtime :( If anyone know some knowledge to open SVG embed fonts in Adobe Illustrator or CorelDRAW please share them. I would be grateful for any help. Levering on other more simple computer languages I am trying to set a dynamic name for a list of buttons generated by a simple loop (as the following code suggest). Simply putting it, I would like to have several UIButtons generated dynamically (within a loop) naming them dynamically, as well as other related functions. button1,button2,button3 etc.. • Why does division yield a vastly different result than multiplication by a fraction in floating points.

  I understand why floating point numbers can't be compared, and know about the mantissa and exponent binary representation, but I'm no expert and today I came across something I don't get: Namely lets say you have something like: float denominator, numerator, resultone, resulttwo; resultone = numerator / denominator; float buff = 1 / denominator; resulttwo = numerator * buff; To my knowledge different flops can yield different results and this is not unusual. But in some edge cases these two results seem to be vastly different. To be more specific in my GLSL code calculating the Beckmann facet slope distribution for the Cook-Torrance lighitng model: float a = 1 / (facetSlopeRMS * facetSlopeRMS * pow(clampedCosHalfNormal, 4)); float b = clampedCosHalfNormal * clampedCosHalfNormal - 1.0; float c = facetSlopeRMS * facetSlopeRMS * clampedCosHalfNormal * clampedCosHalfNormal; facetSlopeDistribution = a * exp(b/c); yields very very different results to float a = (facetSlopeRMS * facetSlopeRMS * pow(clampedCosHalfNormal, 4)); facetDlopeDistribution = exp(b/c) / a; Why does it? The second form of the expression is problematic. If I say try to add the second form of the expression to a color I get blacks, even though the expression should always evaluate to a positive number. Am I getting an infinity? A NaN? if so why?

  I have a buddy that is going to be giving some presentations to high-schoolers. Specifically he asked: What would you be looking for if they approached you about work? Perhaps you are in that age group right now. What do you want to know? Perhaps you are just a few years into the workforce. What do you wish someone had told you but never did? Perhaps you have children, relatives or friends in or soon to be in that age group. What are you worried they don't know about? I'm sure there are other perspectives and questions I'm not even thinking about. I'd like to hear what you have to say about it. Here was my list: Don't be afraid to try! Don't let the perception that something is too difficult stop you from experimenting. Curiosity may have killed the cat, but an un-inquisitive person is mostly useless. Stolen from Einstein: You don't really understand something until you can explain it to your grandmother. It's never enough to be smart, you also have to work well with others. Before you can be really smart, you must learn how to learn. There will always be someone smarter than you are -- Become their buddy! Get to know great minds and learn all you can. Some knowledge can only be expressed this way. Communication, Communication, Communication! Projects rarely fail because of technical reasons and the difference between good programmers and outstanding programmers is how well they communicate. A good work ethic never goes unnoticed. Know when to ask for help and when to figure something out for yourself.

  Hello, First I read this question, but this knowledge did not help to solve my problems. In initial I've created edmx file by Visual Studio. Generated files with names: uqsModel.Designer.cs uqsModel.edmx This files are located on App_Code folder. And my web app work normally. In Web Config generated connectionstring automatically. <add name="uqsEntities" connectionString="metadata=res://*/App_Code.uqsModel.csdl|res://*/App_Code.uqsModel.ssdl|res://*/App_Code.uqsModel.msl;provider=System.Data.SqlClient;provider connection string=&quot;Data Source=aemloviji\sqlexpress;Initial Catalog=uqs;Integrated Security=True;MultipleActiveResultSets=True&quot;" providerName="System.Data.EntityClient" /></connectionStrings> Then I had to generate classes by the instrument edmgen tool(full generation mode). Generated new files with names: uqsModel.cs uqsModel.csdl uqsModel.msl uqsModel.ssdl uqsViews.cs it save new classed to the folder where edmx files located before, and remove existing edmx files. And when page redirrects to any web page server side code fails. And problem: Unable to load the specified metadata resource. Some idea, please.

• Is an LSA MSV1_0 subauthentication package needed for some impersonation use cases?

  Greetings, I'm working with a vendor who has implemented some code that uses a Windows LSA MSV1_0 subauthentication package (MSDN info if you're interested: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa374786(VS.85).aspx ) and I'm trying to figure out if it's necessary. As far as I can tell, the subauthentication routine and filter allow for hooking or customizing the standard LSA MSV1_0 logon event processing. The issue is that I don't understand why the vendor's product would need these capabilities. I've asked them and they said they use it to perform impersonation. The product definitely does need to do impersonation, but based on my limited win32 knowledge, they could get the functionality they need using the normal auth APIs (LsaLogonUser, ImpersonateLoggedOnUser, etc) without the subauthentication package. Furthermore, I've worked with a number of similar products that all do impersonation, and this is the only one that's used a subauthentication package. If you're wondering why I would care, a previous version of the product had a bug in the subauthentication package dll that would cause lockups or bluescreens. That makes me rather nervous and has me questioning the use of such a low-level, kernel sensitive interface. I'd like to go back to the vendor and say "There's no way you could need an LSA subauth package for impersonation - take it out", but I'm not sure I understand the use cases and possible limitations of the standard win32 authentication/impersonation APIs well enough to make that claim definitively. So, to the win32 security gurus out there, is there any reason you would need an LSA MSV1_0 subauthentication package if all you were doing is impersonation? Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

  Just today I've started using Drupal for a site I'm designing/developing. For my own site http://jwm-art.net I wrote a user-unfriendly CMS in PHP. My brief experience with Drupal is making me want to convert from the CMS I wrote. • Why would a SQL query JOIN on the same table twice with the same condition?

One of the views has a query that does a LEFT OUTER JOIN twice on the same table with the same condition. Is there any reason for doing this? The query is below. • Looking for an elegant appwidget skin solution

  I have an appwidget application and would like to enable users to create skins which can be applied at runtime. My preferred solution is to use apk files with nine patch png images that stretch to fit the ImageView's of widget, however its starting to look like I might have to use another packaging technique (e.g. zip files). What I've tried: Importing nine patch resources as Drawable with context.getResourcesForApplication(my.app).getResources..., converting them to bitmaps using a canvas and setting the bitmap to the RemoteView using setImageViewBitap. This didn't work because I needed to specify the size of the resulting view (myBitmap.setBounds(..,..)) during conversion and some of the widths/heights in my appwidget aren't fixed. Perhaps there is a way to get the heights etc that I missed. Importing resources directly to the RemoteView using setImageViewUri() This doesn't work because the function doesn't seem to read android.resource:// Uri's anymore (I poked around in the ImageView source and it only seems to read files paths and content:// Uri's) Importing resources directly to the RemoteView using setImageViewResource() which didn't work because the id retrieved from the external package obviously doesn't include a package reference. What I'm trying to avoid is hard coding all my appwidget width's and height's, or using a separate packaging scheme. Has anyone implemented appwidget skins nicely and want to share the knowledge? Alternately there might be a hole in my logic somewhere that can be pointed out. I can provide code if required though I don't have any here right now.

When i Click on Button, It will open new view in landscape mode. This View is for my Image Gallery.. It Shows 5 Images 1) - Centered Large Image With its description on Bottom. 2) - Next Coming image on left side, This image is slightly tilled at some angle, Without any description at bottom. 3)next to next coming image on left to 2nd image. 4) - previous image on right side, This image is slightly tilled at some angle, Without any description at bottom. 5)Previous to Previous image on right of 4th image And All images are scrollable.. like When i scroll 2nd image, it Will move to Center and show its description and image Which is already centered move to previous image. • Android - need UI help/advice

  I have been working on Android for the past couple of months getting to know how various components work. One area I am completely lacking in knowledge is any sort of User Interface or graphical interface creation. As an excercise I have been asked to break down the HTC call screen into what components it contains and rebuild as close as possible. Here is a picture of the HTC call screen: From my understanding the above UI has a custom title bar where "Meteor" and the call time appears. Then the main image in the middle block along with a text view showing the called party, in this case "Voice Mail" and the number. The bottom is then a custom view maybe with three custom buttons used within it. Would I be correct in my above assumptions? So the parts I should look into start programming are a custom title bar and a custom view with three custom buttons to place at the bottom? What layout would be reccomended? I hope this question is seen as relative to Stack Overflow, if it is not then I will delete it. Thanks in advance

  Sooner or later, coders will feel the need to have access to "open data" in one of their projects, from knowing a city's zip to a more obscure information such as the axial tilt of Pluto. I know data.un.org which offers access to the UN's extensive array of databases that deal with human development and other socio-economic issues. The other usual suspects are NASA and the USGS for planetary data. There's an article at readwriteweb with more links. infochimps.org seems to stand out. Personally, I need to find historic commodity prices, stock values and other financial data. All these data sets seem to cost money however. Clarification To clarify, I'm interested in all kinds of open data, because sooner or later, I know I will be in a situation where I could need it. I will try to edit this answer and include the suggestions in a structured manners. A link for financial data was hidden in that readwriteweb article, doh! It's called opentick.com. Looks good so far! Update I stumbled over semantic data in another question of mine on here. There is opencyc ('the world's largest and most complete general knowledge base and commonsense reasoning engine'). A project called UMBEL provides a light-weight, distilled version of opencyc. Umbel has semantic data in rdf/owl/skos n3 syntax. The Worldbank also released a very nice API. It offers data from the last 50 years for about 200 countries

• Automatically support new changes with Python.

  I was working on a program,that I need to support new additions. Hmmm. Let me give you some background on the program. It is an educational software program that has quizzes for the user to take, just to gain odd knowledge. Now, It currently supports 6 subjects, all organized with directores on the HDD ( i.e. the Science directory is called science. ) and the way you launch the subject to see what quizzes you have to take is by pushing a button on the home screen. This sort of thing prevents easy subject additions. I want to be able to add a subject later on without having to recode the home screen and re organize all the buttons. I would use a Listbox and os.listdir(...), but I was kind of wanting something prettier than a Listbox. I am using Tkinter on Windows. The Python version I am using is 2.6 Is there a "fancy" listbox sort of thing that can be styled to work with the background?

• JSF in jetty-equinox, Cannot find Bean classes in other bundles!

  Hi I have problems running JSF in an OSGi environment. I am using jetty web container and equinox to provide the OSGi functionality. The structure of my application is as follows: The first bundle has all the JSF libs, web.xml and a config.xml. It looks as the following: bundle1 ----src/main/java -------de/package ----------Activator.java ----------JSFResolver.java ----src/main/resource ------ WebContent ----------META-INF -------------face-config.xml --------------web.xhtml ----------start.xhtml -----------include.xhtml ----libs (containing all JSF required Jars) The structure of the second bundle is as follows: bundle2 ---src/main/java ------de/package ----------Bean.java ---src/main/resource ------META-INF ---------face-config.xml ------WebContent ---------index.xhtml When running the application of equinox, the bundle1 is the main bundle where all the browser requests are sent to. In the second bundle, the 'index.xhtml' file can be retrieved the by first bundle upon request. The 'index.xhtml' in bundle 2 gets its values and properties from the 'Bean.java' in bundle 2. The problem comes when i request the 'index.xhtml', the Bean.java class is not found. I think this is because the class loader of bundle1 cannot find it, it has no knowledge of it. So i would like to ask if anyone knows how to solve this problem. If so please do assist me, i have tried all the possibilities i had.. Is it infact possible to have JSF run on multiple bundles using the same FaceletsContex? Can i be able to have seperate faces-config.xml files in each bundle, which can all be connected other faces-config.xml in other bundles? Can anyone please provide me a solution. • ACL actions tag cause 'roles resource tree' draw incorrectly in admin/system/permissions/roles

  Hi, We created new action similar to 'hold', 'ship' and others in the 'sales_order/view' admin section that can be triggered by clicking at the button. Afterward, we added our new action to the ACL with the following code in config.xml: <acl> <resources> <admin> <children> <sales> <children> <order> <children> <actions translate="title"> <title>Actions</title> <children> <shipNew translate="title"><title>Ship Ups</title></shipNew> </children> </actions> </children> <sort_order>10</sort_order> </order> </children> </sales> </children> </admin> </resources> </acl> ACL functionality works, however, in the 'Resources Tree'(System/Permissions/Roles/Role Resources) our new action does never show up as selected(checked) even thou it is allowed for particular Role. I can see that from table 'admin_rule' with resource id for our new action that it is allowed, so it needs to be selected, but it is not. When trying to solve this issue i looked into the template(permissions/rolesedit.phtml) and I found that the 'resource tree' is draw with Javascript...thats where i got stock due to my limited knowledge in Javascript. Why the resource tree does not display our new ACL entry correctly, that is the check box is never checked? Thank You for helping margots

• Obtaining information about executable code from exe/pdb

  Hello, I need to extract code (but not data!) from classic win32 exe/dll files. It's clear I can't do this only with extraction of code segment content (because code segment contains also the data -- jump tables for example) and that I need some help from compiler. *.map files are nice but they only contain addresses of functions, i.e. the safest thing I can do is to start at that address and to process until the first return / jump instruction (because part of the function could be mentioned data) *.pdb files are better but I'm not sure what tools to use to extract information like this -- I took a look at DbgHelp and DIA SDK, the latter one seems to be the right tool but it doesn't look very simple. So my question/questions: To your knowledge, it is possible to extract information about code/data position (address + length) only via DbgHelp? If the DIA SDK is the only way, any idea what should I call for getting information like that? (that COM stuff is pretty heavy) Is there any other way? • Retrieve 2 last posts for each category.

  Hello, Lets say I have 2 tables: blog_posts and categories. Each blog post belongs to only ONE category, so there is basically a foreign key between the 2 tables here. I would like to retrieve the 2 lasts posts from each category, is it possible to achieve this in a single request? GROUP BY would group everything and leave me with only one row in each category. But I want 2 of them. It would be easy to perform 1 + N query (N = number of category). First retrieve the categories. And then retrieve 2 posts from each category. I believe it would also be quite easy to perform M queries (M = number of posts I want from each category). First query selects the first post for each category (with a group by). Second query retrieves the second post for each category. etc. I'm just wondering if someone has a better solution for this. I don't really mind doing 1+N queries for that, but for curiosity and general SQL knowledge, it would be appreciated! Thanks in advance to whom can help me with this.

  Hi everyone, I've been struggling on this thing for a week without being able to find what I'm looking for. Here is what I'd like to do: I'm setting up a wiki where I can post all my knowledge to (yes, I know a couple things :p) but I can't render it the way I'd like to. The bodies of my posts are text fields. In order to render them the right way I run the following command: @post.body.gsub("\n", "<br />") I also have some tags with some code inside that looks like this < code my code < /code. Here come's the issue. Every line between the < code and < /code tags are changed to but it doesn'r render properly since I'm using a code render template. Therefore, I'd like to know if there is a way to change all \n to < br / except for those between < code and < /code Thank you everyone for reading this and helping me out. PS: Please do not consider the spaces after the < in each tag. I had to do this to "espace" them. Julien

  Hi there, I have a simple application to store address details and edit them. I have been away from VB for a few years now and need to refreash my knowledge while working to a tight deadline. I have a general Sub responsible for displaying a form where user can add contact details (by pressing button add) and edit them (by pressing button edit). This sub is stored in a class Contact. The way it is supposed to work is that there is a list with all the contacts and when new contact is added a new entry is displayed. If user wants to edit given entry he or she selects it and presses edit button Public Sub Display() Dim C As New Contact C.Cont = InputBox("Enter a title for this contact.") C.Fname = frmAddCont.txtFName.Text C.Surname = frmAddCont.txtSName.Text C.Address = frmAddCont.txtAddress.Text frmStart.lstContact.Items.Add(C.Cont.ToString) End Sub I call it from the form responsible for adding new contacts by Dim C As New Contact C.Display() and it works just fine. However when I try to do something similar using the edit button I get errors - "Unable to cast object of type 'System.String' to type 'AddressBook.Contact'." Dim C As Contact If lstContact.SelectedItem IsNot Nothing Then C = lstContact.SelectedItem() C.Display() End If I think it may be something simple however I wasn't able to fix it and given short time I have I decided to ask for help here. • Specifying ASP.NET MVC attributes for auto-generated data models

  Hello to everyone. I'm very new to ASP.NET MVC (as well as ASP.NET in general), and going to gain some knowledge for this technology, so I'm sorry I can ask some trivial questions. I have installed ASP.NET MVC 3 RC1 and I'm trying to do the following. Let's consider that I have a model that's completely auto-generated from a table using the "LINQ to SQL Classes" template in VS2010. The template generates 3 files (two .cs files and one .layout file respectively), and the generated partial class is expected to be used as an MVC model. Let's also consider, a single DB column, that's mapped into the model, may look like this: [global::System.Data.Linq.Mapping.ColumnAttribute(Storage = "_Name", DbType = "VarChar(128)")] public string Name { get { return this._Name; } set { if ( (this._Name != value) ) { // ... generated stuff goes here } } } The ASP.NET MVC engine also provides a beautiful declarative way to specify some additional stuff, like RequiredAttribute, DisplayNameAttribute and other nice attributes. But since the mapped model is a purely auto-genereated model, I've realized that I should not change the model manually, and specify the fields like: [Required] [DisplayName("Project name")] [StringLength(128)] [global::System.Data.Linq.Mapping.ColumnAttribute(Storage = "_Name", DbType = "VarChar(128)")] public string Name { ... though this approach works perfectly... until I change the model in the DBML-designer removing the ASP.NET MVC attributes automatically. • advanced xml? multi level .. php parsing

  hi my knowledge of xml and php is somewhat basic but have been able to parse a simple xml document (one level) ~ <numbers> <number>1</number> <number>2</number> </numbers> i'm attempting to parse an xml document from a website providing the latest market prices for gold bullion. I think i'm going to need a paid professional but want to give it a shot the xml file looks like this: <envelope> <message type="MARKET_DEPTH_A" version="0.1"> <market> <pitches> <pitch securityClassNarrative="GOLD" securityId="AUXLN" considerationCurrency="GBP" > <buyPrices> <price actionIndicator="B" quantity="0.153" limit="23477" /> </buyPrices> <sellPrices> <price actionIndicator="S" quantity="0.058" limit="23589" /> </sellPrices> </pitch> </pitches> </market> </message> </envelope> and simply i have no idea how to access the values within the "headings". (whatever the term is) sounds like i'm asking for someone to do it for me, which I don't want, but I don't know what to search for ~ it doesn't look like a regular xml structure to me. thanks!

  Ok, what i'm trying to do here is to make the exact code found here here ordered list and make it so that it doesn't just not work when i try to add additional elements into the list. Also i'm planning on using the more effecient one linked to at the end but i cannot put it here so you'll have to find that link on your own sadly. Since i'm trying to use this for a knowledge base page i want to allow people to be able to search through the items on the page and go to the proper part(ie loading it into the viewing area) but it's not letting me even include a simple anchor in there. if there is anyway to do something similar or to edit it so that it'll include everything within the <li> that'd be great. I don't know if anyone out there has done something like this before, but if they have and wouldn't mind sharing the code with me i'd be extremely happy. If no one has but does know how to make it include everything within the <li> including text also a great thing to have. I imagine that i won't be the only person out there in this world with my exact query.
