  • Microsoft Business Intelligence. Is what I am trying to do possible?

    Hi guys, I have been charged with the task of analysing the log table of my company's website. This table contains a user's click path throughout the website for a given session. My company is looking to understand/spot trends based on the 'click paths' of our users. In doing so, identify groups of users that take on a certain 'click path' based on age/geography and so on. As you can tell from the title, I am completely new to BI and its capabilities so I was wondering: Are our objectives attainable? How should I go about doing this? I am currently reading books online as well as other e-books I have found. All signs seem to suggest this is possible via sequence clustering. Although the exact implementation and tweaks involved are currently lost on me. Therefore, if anyone has first hand experience in such an undertaking, I would be awesome if you could share it here.     Is it possible to automatically backup my database to dropbox? If so how can I do it? The key criteria I need it to do is: Be automatic. Be Mac compliant. Be weekly. Sync with dropbox (http://www.dropbox.com) automatically. Be able to backup several databases from several websites. Be free... or relatively cheap! Have a guide on how to setup the solution.   • Is it possible to get code coverage data for a GWT web app running tests from the web browser?

    I am not sure if this is possible but I would like some way to get code coverage information for tests that are written in Quick Test for our GWT based web app. It does not seem like there is any solution because the Quick Test Pro tests are testing against the GWT compiled app and not the original java code in which the app was written. I suppose I could get coverage data on the javascript that the GWT compiler creates, but there would be no way for me (that I know of) to map this information back to the original java code. Is there some way to do this?

  • Excel - convert groupped data into PivotTable - is it possible?

    I have report in Excel format (Excel 2007) from Accountant department - and it has Groupping by Rows. + Client 1 300$ (group Bills by Client) |-- BIll 1 100$ |-- Bill 2 200$ So in Excel It looks like this in plain rows format (If I ungroup those rows): 1 Client1 300$ 2 Bill1 100$ 3 Bill2 200$ 1,2,3 - row numbers. So I cant Pivot these data to get Client-by-Bill-SUm report, because rows with Client Name are not Connected (that is necessary for Pivoting info by Client, Bills) with Bills rows after UnGroupping.

  • Is it possible to mount a TrueCrypt volume to a NTFS mount point?

    The question is simple really. Under Linux etc.. you can mount TrueCrypt volumes, files or partitions, to any mount point of your choosing whereas in Windows the interface only shows drive letters. I'm wondering if I can mount the volume, a partition in this case, un-encrypted to a NTFS mount point, or folder, instead of using drive letters. The reason I ask is I am running out of letters :(. I'm using Server 2008 with the latest TrueCrypt install. Note: I know how to mount a volume directly to an NTFS folder mount point but doing so, and navigating to the mount point, prompts a notice saying the volume is not formatted - to be expected as the volume is not un-encrypted at this stage.

  • Is it possible to add files to the "Wordpress Media Library" using the command line?

    Wordpress has it's own "Media Library" which is used when you upload images and other media for use in blog posts and pages. The advantage of the media library is that it automatically produces thumbnails of the images and the web interface gives you extra info such as who uploaded the image, which articles use the image, etc. My question is, does anyone have any tips on interacting with the media library via the command line instead of using the Wordpress web interface? For example, any ideas on how to add a image to the media library from the command line? If I copy files to the media library directory (usually .../wp-content/uploads/YYYY/MM/) from the command line they do not show up in the Wordpress dashboard - I guess because there needs to be an associated database entry for the media to be registered with Wordpress.

I've saw already a lot of videos and read e-books but would like to use it for a while, specially the integration with Sharepoint Designer 2007.   • Is it possible to retrieve lost Windows XP profile information?

    I'm running Windows XP Professional on a PC which is less than a year old. About 3 months ago I got an error on boot saying windows could not find my profile. At this point it created a temp one. On this occasion I copied the temp data back into my existing profile and carried on using it. After another month it died again and, once again set me up a temp user. Each time this happens I lose everything related to my profile (desktop, start menu, etc). I ran checks on the hard disk and these suggested nothing was wrong so this seems a software issue not a disk problem. On the advice of my computer manufacturer I am now considering reinstalling Windows but just wanted to check if there's any other ideas for things I might be able to try. Any suggestions for what could be causing the problem would also be gladly appreciated.

    Hello all. I want to extract "special" data from an Excel 2002 (client requirement, cannot change) workbook and worksheets contained therein. I have classified ranges in this "special" data category. I would like to acquire a list of all ranges in, ideally, all worksheets in a workbook. The attributes I'm interested in are the range name, and the range address. I have been googling for a while now, and have not found anything relevant. I was assuming the Excel 2002 API would expose something like this: ApplicationClass app = new ApplicationClass(); Workbook workbook = app.Workbooks.Open(@"c:\file.xls", ...); Worksheet worksheet = workbook.Worksheets["sheet1"] as Worksheet; Range[] ranges = worksheet.GetAllRanges(); or something similar. However, I am sadly mistaken. Is this possible with Excel 2002?

  • MSDeploy - possible to call setAcl on multiple destinations in one go?

    I'm building a nice little continuous integration environment for our development team, based on TeamCity. It's working rather nicely, as it can build a mix of .NET and PHP projects, and push them to our internal and external platforms. I'm primarily using MsDeploy to push everything to the internal platform, as that's all IIS based. However, there's a number of builds where I need to set directory permissions on the destination directory. I can use the setAcl operator just fine, but that only seems to take a single destination as an argument. Therefore, if I need to alter the permissions on 5 destination directories, I need to call MsDeploy 5 times, which seems a lot of overhead. Is there a sensible way around this? Reading the documentation, I don't think MsDeploy takes more than a single argument for the setAcl operator, but could be wrong. Is there a better way for a build server to set multiple directory permissions in one go?

    I have a form which contains a series of fields like: <input type="text" name="User[123]" value="Alice" /> <input type="text" name="User[456]" value="Bob" /> ... Where the index of the User array (123 and 456) are ID's associated with the value. I'm trying to update these values in the controller. My thinking is that a Dictionary that maps ID to name would work, but creating the action like: public void Save(Dictionary<string, string> user) { // ... } results in the user parameter being null. So, is passing a Dictionary possible? or, is there another method to achieve this?

I'm just thinking it would be nice to reformulate that query so it could be called like SELECT * FROM dbo.table1 WHERE column1 REGEXLIKE '[0-9][A-Z]' Is it possible to create new comparison operators using CLR Code. Some notable solutions as of 8th of May 2009, 10:44 GMT: 1) Daniel Lew was the first to post correctly working code. 2) Kris has provided the simplest solution for the given problem. 3) Tom Hawtin - tackline, came up arguably with the most elegant solution. 4) mmyers pointed out that printing is likely to become a bottleneck and can be improved through buffering. 5) Jay's brute force approach is notable since, besides defying the core point of programming, the resulting source code takes about 128 GB and will blow compiler limits. As a side note I believe that the answers do demonstrate that it could be a good interview question, as long as the emphasis is not on the ability to remember trivia about the data type overflow and its implications (that can be easily spotted during unit testing), or the way of obtaining MAX and MIN limits (can easily be looked up in the documentation) but rather on the analysis of various ways of dealing with the problem.

When trying to figure it out, I found that DelegatingMetaClass might help - is that the most Groovy way to do this?

  • Is possible to auto-import a module from a diferent subfolder in other subfolder?

    I have a kind of plugin system, with this layout: - Python -- SDK -- Plugins ---- Plugin1 ---- Plugin2 All 3 have a __init__.py file. I wonder if is possible to be able to do import SDK from any plugin (as if SDK was in the site-packages folder). I'm in a situation where need to deploy, update, delete, add or change SDK files or any of the plugins under non-admin accounts, and wonder if I can get SDK in a clean way (I could sys.path.append in all plugins but I wonder if exist a better option). I imagine that using this in the Plugins init coulkd work: import sys import os ROOT_DIR = os.path.abspath(os.path.join(os.path.dirname(__file__),'..')) print ROOT_DIR sys.path.append( ROOT_DIR ) But clearly is not executed this code (I imagine init was auto-magicalled executed in the load of the module :( )

    Hi all, I'm stuck on a clients host that has medium trust setup which blocks cross domain requests and need data from a 3rd party domain. I now have the option to use JSONP. I've used JSONP from the client with jQuery to get around the browsers cross domain security and I've used HttpWebRequest in ASP.Net 3.5. Is it possible to use JSON on the server and if so how? I don't think it is, but worth asking seeing as I already have this app written server side.... Thanks, Denis

  • What parts of a motherboard age, and how can I choose one with the longest possible life?

    I have a home-built computer that's probably about four years old. I realize this probably seems ancient to some folks, but computers have no moving parts (except the fans), so theoretically they should last a long time, if I still have software to run on them. A few weeks ago, it began blue-screening and freezing up, with various error messages. It almost always happened about five minutes after startup. I assumed that the video card was overheating, since the cheap little fan on the heatsink died, so I replaced it. Long story short, after upgrading the video drivers a couple of times and performing some other troubleshooting, I remembered that the last time this happened, I took out the memory SIMS and cleaned the contacts with a gum eraser, so I did that again (noting that the SATA cables were very close to the chips on the SIMS). I re-routed the cables and reinstalled the SIMS. So far, so good; the machine has been trouble-free since. But blue-screens are distressing; I never know what bits are being chewed up in my OS installation when something like this happens. So I'm wondering if I'm choosing my components properly. If it matters, it's an Intel D915GAG motherboard and Corsair memory, but what I'm wondering is, should I be looking for certain characteristics when I choose these parts for my next computer, so that I can avoid this problem in my next build?
