• Overlaying Firefox's new Addon Manager

  I'm trying to create a conditional overlay for firefox's new addon manager in minefield 3.7 (aka firefox 3.7) I'm trying the following: overlay chrome://mozapps/content/extensions/extensions.xul chrome://greasemonkey/content/addons.xul application={ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384} appversion<3.7 overlay chrome://mozapps/content/extensions/extensions.xul chrome://greasemonkey/content/addonstab.xul application={ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384} appversion>=3.7 And this works for firefox 3.6, but it does not work minefield.. y?   Take a simple table like below: Column Headings: || Agent's Name || Time Logged In || Center || Row 1: Andrew || 12:30 PM || Home Base Row 2: Jeff || 7:00 AM || Virtual Base Row 3: Ryan || 6:30 PM || Test Base Now lets say that a single cell is deleted so the table now looks like this: Column Headings: || Agent's Name || Time Logged In || Center || Row 1: Andrew || 12:30 PM || Row 2: Jeff || 7:00 AM || Virtual Base Row 3: Ryan || 6:30 PM || Test Base Notice that "Home Base" is missing. Now in excel you can delete the cell and shift the rest so the finished product looks like below: Column Headings: || Agent's Name || Time Logged In || Center || Row 1: Andrew || 12:30 PM || Virtual Base Row 2: Jeff || 7:00 AM || Test Base Row 3: Ryan || 6:30 PM || And you can see we are left with a blank cell last row. • ApplicationSettingsBase.Upgrade() Not Upgrading User Settings after Recompiling with .NET 4.0

  I have a C# program that is using the standard ApplicationSettingsBase to save its user settings. This was working fine under .NET 3.5. And the provided Upgrade() method would properly "reload" those settings whenever a new version of my program was created. Recently, I recompiled the program with .NET 4.0. My program's version number also increased. But, when I run this version, Upgrade() doesn't seem to to detect any previous version settings, and does not "reload" them. It starts blank. As a test, I recompiled yet again, going back to .NET 3.5. And this time, the Upgrade() method started working again. Is there a way to allow Upgrade() to work when switching frameworks? Is there something else I am missing? Thanks.

  I have a textbox that I am defining as <%= Html.TextBox("Username", Model.Form.Username, new { @class = "textbox", @disabled = "disabled" })%> In my action [AcceptVerbs(HttpVerbs.Post)] [ValidateAntiForgeryToken] public ActionResult EditLogin(LoginForm post) { ... return View(model); } post.Username will be blank, all other properties bind correctly, but if I change @disabled="disabled to @readonly="readonly" the username binds properly and everything works. It looks like model binding ignores values in disabled fields. Is their a way around this? I still need the field's value to bind to the model. I can use readonly but would prefer to use disabled so it is visually apparent to the user that they cannot edit the value of the field.

But I don't want a list that shows: SG MV I want a list that shows: Song Movie I can do this on an individual object basis if I was in the template object.get_type_display But how do I get a list of all of the unique "type" entries in the database as their full names for output into a template? I hope this question was clearly described. . .

• Using facebook oauth 2.0 - How do I fetch the access token

  Hi all! I am new to oauth and I'm trying to use facebook connect with my web-application. I have succeded in getting a verification token but my problem is "fetching" the access token. How do I fetch it? Facebook documentation tells me to fetch the access token with this URL: https://graph.facebook.com/oauth/access_token?' + 'client_id=XXXXXXXXXXXX& redirect_uri=http://www.mysite.com/fbconn/index.html&display=touch&' + 'client_secret=axxxxxcxxxxxxxxxxx&code=' + code; When I use this I see the access token on a blank page, but I want to fetch it with javascript (AJAX) /PHP or something. Is this possible? I thought the access token would be appended to my redirect uri like the verfication code but I never get redirected to my page. What am I doing wrong?   Hi All, I tried to create linq-to-sqlite dbml using DbLinq but in vain. Each time I get different type of errors. May be I'm somewhere wrong. Can anyone tell me the step by step procedure to create the dbml file from the Dblinq source code. Edit: Steps I Followed: I downloaded the source file from this link. Edited the "run_sqliteMetal.bat" file in \\DbLinq-0.19\src\DbMetal folder as 'DbMetal.exe -database:myDb.db3 -namespace:myNS -code:myCode.cs' -dbml:myDbml.dbml Tried to run the DbMetal project file to produce the executable but there was a runtime error since Options object in Parameters.cs was null. Hence downloaded the readymade exe file from this location Copied it into the \DbLinq-0.19\src\DbMetal folder Executed the "run_sqliteMetal.bat" file I got a blank screen and Windows Error Msg "DbLinq has stopped Working" Any help? • "No Source Available" when managed exception occurs - WPF Visual Studio 2010

  for some reason, my visual studio 2010 is not loading debug symbols on my own code. i am using a default WPF application solution. with a sample WPF app i am working on, and running in Debug mode. when i go into debug, i can step through my code. BUT when exception happens in my code (i.e. throw new Exception("test")), visual studio gives me the blue blank screen with "No Source Available. No symbols are loaded blah blah.." AND i can actually "view" exception details, where it will tell me the line of code my exception occured on. so it does know what happened.. it seems. it seems to think that PDB files are not loaded. my setup: options Deubg "Enable just my code (managed only)" is checked. application properties : 1 project running in Debug x86

• Silverlight 4 application failing to build in Blend 4 Beta..

  Hi, I'm creating a simple silverlight application using Silverlight 4 and Expression Blend 4 Beta, but when I run the Application I get the following Error: C:\Users\WebDevelop1\Documents\Expression\Blend 4 Beta\Projects\SilverlightApplication1\SilverlightApplication1.sln.metaproj : error MSB4126: The specified solution configuration "Debug|HPD" is invalid. Please specify a valid solution configuration using the Configuration and Platform properties (e.g. MSBuild.exe Solution.sln /p:Configuration=Debug /p:Platform="Any CPU") or leave those properties blank to use the default solution configuration. Done building project "SilverlightApplication1.sln" -- FAILED. Build failed. I'm relatively new to silverlight and not really sure where to start. This has happened with every project I have created in Blend, but when I run it in VS2010 it runs perfect. Is this a known issue with the Beta release or am I possibly missing something? • What is a robust method for capturing screen of child window in Windows 7?

  Pardon my frustration. I've asked about this in many places and I seriously don't think that there wouldn't be a way in Windows 7 SDK to accomplish this. All I want, is to capture part of a 'child window' ( setParent() ) created by a parent. I used to do this with bitblt() but the catch is that the child window can be any type of application, and in my case has OpenGL running in a section of it. If I bitblt() that, then the OGL part comes blank, doesn't get written to the BMP. DWM, particularly dwmRegisterThumbnail() doesn't allow thumbnail generation of child windows. So please give me a direction. Thanks.

• UIButton of type UIButtonTypeCustom will not display Title (iPhone)

  Hi I must have overlooked something completely obvious?? but my button displays its image and size correctly, but I simply can't get the Title to show up. I did a really simple test, the Title does not even show up when I do this: CGRect frameBtn = CGRectMake(160.0f, 150.0f, 144.0f, 42.0f); UIButton *button = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom]; [button setImage:[UIImage imageNamed:@"left_halfscreen_button.png"] forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button setTitle:@"Hello" forState:UIControlStateNormal]; [button setFrame:frameBtn]; NSLog(@"Title:%@", [button currentTitle]); //prints "Title:Hello [self addSubview:button]; I have a factory class that generates custom buttons for me and I thought I messed some detail up there, so I moved the above code directly into my UIView, the title is still blank.   I'm following the Getting Started with Rails guide but ran into an issue opening http://localhost:3000 Shell output: [2010-03-23 19:19:14] ERROR NameError: uninitialized constant ActiveResource::Base Error in the browser: Internal Server Error uninitialized constant ActiveResource::Base WEBrick/1.3.1 (Ruby/1.8.7/2009-06-12) at localhost:3000 I followed the directions exactly as they were specified in the guide: Ran rails generate controller home index I removed index.html Added root :to = "home#index" to config/routes.rb I checked app/views/home/index.html.erb and it is indeed there. I then used rails server to launch the server. At first attempt the browser loads a blank page, but afterwards starts showing the browser error above. Why is it that Rails can't locate the index.html.erb file? Or is the error something different? - Running Rails 3.0beta with Ruby 1.8.7

• How to handle Append Only text fields in a Sharepoint DataSheet view?

  We've created a Sharepoint site to track a process. Eventually we're going to make a workflow out of it, but in the meantime there's a list we all have to look at which lists the various dates each piece is supposed to be finished. So basically My group needs to see and update columns X, Y, Z and Comments while ignoring the other 30 billion or so columns. Which is great in datasheet view because we can easily view our columns, and update them right there without drilling into the item and browsing through all the other crap we don't need. The problem is the Comments field, in which we really need to see the last actual comment made. Unfortunately whenever anyone saves the record the field is updated with a blank value (unless they entered a comment) and the last actual comment is lost unless you drill into the item. Is there some way to get the Datasheet view to show all the entries? I should also note that I know very little about Sharepoint 2007... so detailed answers would be nice!

Most of them seem to be ablut creating a web service, not using it and none of them seem to explain how to use basic HTTP authentication. I have got as far as constructing the XML i want to send to the API but I could really do with seeing some example code which makes an http call using http authentication to a SOAP API. Maybe I'm just searching for the wrong thing but I've drawn a blank so far. Can anybody show me how? Jon

• C# - Screenshot of process under Windows Service

  We have to run a process from a windows service and get a screenshot from it. We tried the BitBlt and PrintWindow Win32 calls, but both give blank (black) bitmaps. If we run our code from a normal user process, it works just fine. Is this something that is even possible? Or could there be another method to try? Things we tried: Windows service running as Local System, runs process as Local System - screenshot fails Windows service running as Administrator, runs process as Administrator - screenshot fails. Windows application running as user XYZ, runs a process as XYZ - screenshot works with both BitBlt or PrintWindow. Tried checking "Allow service to interact with desktop" from Local System We also noticed that PrintWindow works better for our case, it works if the window is behind another window. For other requirements, both the parent and child processes must be under the same user. We can't really use impersonation from one process to another.

• How to programmatically disable onClick handler on Android AppWidget Button

  I have a Button on appwidget, that I need to 'enable'/'disable' programmatically from a Service. First idea was to call setBoolean(R.id.buttonid, "setClickable", false) to disable it, but apparently you can't call setClickable remotely. Another idea was was remove the text label from it with rv.setTextViewText(R.id.buttonid, "") and then remove the click handler by rv.setOnClickPendingIntent(R.id.buttonid, null). Unfortunately passing null to it causes NullPointerException in in android.app.ActivityThread.handleServiceArgs Is there some other way to programmatically disable/enable appwidget Button? I could just call rv.setViewVisibility(R.id.buttonid, View.GONE) to hide the button completely instead of disabling it. This would however completely break whole widget layout and I would like to avoid it. The solution I'm using now is hiding the button with setViewVisibility and showing other blank button instead to the keep appwidget layout as it was before.

• Django deployment: PIL and virtualenv problem

  Hey guys, I'm deploying a Django site on my Vserver (Debian Lenny) and I'm having problem with PIL. I'm using virtualenv as well. When I'm in the virtualenv and type pip install -U PIL everything installs fine and I get this: *** TKINTER support not available --- JPEG support available --- ZLIB (PNG/ZIP) support available *** FREETYPE2 support not available *** LITTLECMS support not available And when I go in to the shell (python manage.py shell) and type from PIL import Image I get no error. But when I use it in the Django project (uploading an image in the admin for example) I just get No module named PIL I don't think it's a problem with the model because it works fine on the development machine but here is part of the class: class Category(models.Model): name = models.CharField(max_length=255, verbose_name="Name") logo = models.ImageField(upload_to='images/category/', blank=True, null=True, verbose_name="Logo") I'm going out of my mind about this. I feel like this is a very common issue but I've been trying to google this all day with no luck. Thanks in advance, AndriJan

• SmartGWT - Appengine - 404 not found

  Im using smartGWT v2.1 with GWT 2 and Appengine SDK 1.3.0 On localhost, everything works fine! When I deploy everything goes fine too, without any error! The problem is, when i access the the app it returns an blank screen. Using the firebug i saw just nocache.js missing. ErrorLog: GET mika.nocache.js http://perfworker.appspot.com/Mika/mika.nocache.js 404 Not Found perfworker.appspot.com Just to know, the last version of smartGWT should work on AppEngine out of the box? • ASP.NET ReportViewer Google Chrome CPU usage

  Hello, We have found an interesting issue between ASP.NET 3.5 and ReportViewer with Google Chrome. Our set of pages work fine until a ReportViewer control displays a report. Google Chrome then eats up 50% of the CPU doing nothing it seems. I've extracted the ReportViewer control to a blank Web Forms project to confirm its that control and not a rogue bit of my code. I'm using ReportViewer in local mode (RDLC file) so I presume its the 2005 version? Anyone seen this before and have a solution? • Best way of implementing DropDownList in ASP.NET MVC 2?

  I am trying to understand the best way of implementing a DropDownList in ASP.NET MVC 2 using the DropDownListFor helper. This is a multi-part question. First, what is the best way to pass the list data to the view? Pass the list in your model with a SelectList property that contains the data Pass the list in via ViewData How do I get a blank value in the DropDownList? Should I build it into the SelectList when I am creating it or is there some other means to tell the helper to auto create an empty value? Lastly, if for some reason there is a server side error and I need to redisplay the screen with the DropDownList, do I need to fetch the list values again to pass into the view model? This data is not maintained between posts (at least not when I pass it via my view model) so I was going to just fetch it again (it's cached). Am I going about this correctly?
