Asp.net MVC Route class that supports catch-all parameter anywhere in the URL

the more I think about it the more I believe it's possible to write a custom route that would consume these URL definitions: {var1}/{var2}/{var3} Const/{var1}/{var2} Const1/{var1}/Const2/{var2} {var1}/{var2}/Const as well as having at most one greedy parameter on any position within any of the upper URLs like {*var1}/{var2}/{var3} {var1}/{*var2}/{var3} {var1}/{var2}/{*var3} There is one important constraint. Routes with greedy segment can't have any optional parts. All of them are mandatory. Example This is an exemplary request http://localhost/Show/Topic/SubTopic/SubSubTopic/123/This-is-an-example This is URL route definition {action}/{*topicTree}/{id}/{title} Algorithm Parsing request route inside GetRouteData() should work like this: Split request into segments: Show Topic SubTopic SubSubTopic 123 This-is-an-example Process route URL definition starting from the left and assigning single segment values to parameters (or matching request segment values to static route constant segments). When route segment is defined as greedy, reverse parsing and go to the last segment. Parse route segments one by one backwards (assigning them request values) until you get to the greedy catch-all one again. When you reach the greedy one again, join all remaining request segments (in original order) and assign them to the greedy catch-all route parameter. Questions As far as I can think of this, it could work. But I would like to know: Has anyone already written this so I don't have to (because there are other aspects to parsing as well that I didn't mention (constraints, defaults etc.) Do you see any flaws in this algorithm, because I'm going to have to write it myself if noone has done it so far. I haven't thought about GetVirtuaPath() method at all.

Wix - How do I specify a directory to run a batch file in?

I want to run a batch file, which I do via the following: <CustomAction Id='InstallFilter' FileKey='install' ExeCommand='' Execute='deferred' /> <InstallExecuteSequence> <Custom Action='InstallFilter' Before='InstallFinalize' /> </InstallExecuteSequence> This will execute the batch file, but it runs in C:\Windows\System32 (or something like that). I want it to run in the directory that the file is found in. It won'et let me specify a Directory attribute with a FileKey attribute. How can I tell the installer to run out of a specific directory, preferably by the directory ID. Also, when I try to uninstall my app with script, I get an error message saying "There is a problem with the Windows Installer package. A program required for the install to complete could not be run." This makes sense, as by the time the script gets run, the files have been removed. The question is: How do I specify that my action should only be run on install, not uninstall? How do I uninstall this current copy?

I'm using the RoundRect GDI function to draw a rounded rectangle following this example: .NET CF Custom Control: RoundedGroupBox Because all controls are square, it also draw the corners outside of the rounded rectangle. How can I make this space left outside the rectangle transparent? Model Binding, a simple, simple question

Using the default customer model binder the property will always yield null. I can fix this by adding ".Value" to the end of every form input name, but I just want it to bind to the new type directly using some sort of custom model binder, but all the solutions I've tried seemed needlessly complex. I feel like I should be able to extend the default binder and with a few lines of code redirect the property binding to the entire model using implicit conversion. I don't quite get the binding paradigm of the default binder, but it seems really stuck on this distinction between the model and model properties. What is the simplest method to do this? Thanks!

User Control SiteMap Provider Rendering Error

I have created a Custom Server Control that renders the SiteMap as a pure UL for CSS styling. At run-time it renders properly but in VS2008 Design View VS shows this error: Error Rendering Control - menuMainAn unhandled exception has occurred. The provider 'AspNetXmlSiteMapProvider' specified for the defaultProvider does not exist in the providers collection. I have 'AspNetXmlSiteMapProvider' specified in web.config as per here : link text While I am happy that the code runs properly, the Designer error is bothersome if the underlying issue might cause the code to break in some circumstances so I need to understand what is going on... The code explicitly references the sitemap in the Render Method with : int level = 1; string ul = string.Format("<div class='{0}' id='{1}'>{2}</div>", CssClassName, this.ID.ToString(), EnumerateNodesRecursive(SiteMap.RootNode, level)); output.Write(ul); and the recursive method called referrences SiteMap.CurrentNode. Otherwise there are no explicit sitemap references in the code. Does anyone have any ideas why Deisgner is complaining?

Hi all, I have a problem regarding Java custom serialization. I have a graph of objects and want to configure where to stop when I serialize a root object from client to server. Let's make it a bit concrete, clear by giving a sample scenario. I have Classes of type Company Employee (abstract) Manager extends Employee Secretary extends Employee Analyst extends Employee Project Here are the relations: Company(1)---(n)Employee Manager(1)---(n)Project Analyst(1)---(n)Project Imagine, I'm on the client side and I want to create a new company, assign it 10 employees (new or some existing) and send this new company to the server. What I expect in this scenario is to serialize the company and all bounding employees to the server side, because I'll save the relations on the database. So far no problem, since the default Java serialization mechanism serializes the whole object graph, excluding the field which are static or transient. My goal is about the following scenario. Imagine, I loaded a company and its 1000 employees from the server to the client side. Now I only want to rename the company's name (or some other field, that directly belongs to the company) and update this record. This time, I want to send only the company object to the server side and not the whole list of employees (I just update the name, the employees are in this use case irrelevant). My aim also includes the configurability of saying, transfer the company AND the employees but not the Project-Relations, you must stop there. Do you know any possibility of achieving this in a generic way, without implementing the writeObject, readObject for every single Entity-Object? What would be your suggestions? I would really appreciate your answers. I'm open to any ideas and am ready to answer your questions in case something is not clear.

Running an executable on network share with CustomAction with wix?

Hello, i have created a msi-package which compresses some xml-files to a zip-file during installation. I have created a CustomAction for this purposes: <CustomAction Id="CompressMy" BinaryKey="zipEXE" ExeCommand="a -tzip "[TEMPLATE_DIR]my.zip" "[TempSourceFolder]data.xml"" Return="check" HideTarget="no" Impersonate="no" Execute="deferred" /> The installation works fine, if i try to install to a local drive, but recently a customer wanted to install [TEMPLATE_DIR] to a network drive on Windows Vista. The CustomAction fails, because of the elevated install-user hasn't mapped the network drive, even if the installer-calling user has mapped the drive. This happens also, if I try to install to an unc-path. I use 7zip for compressing. I have added it to my msi-package. I have tried to set Impersonate="yes", but then the Installations fails, if my TEMPLATE_DIR is f.e. the ProgramData-dir. Do you have any idea what i can do? I thinked about checking if TEMPLATE_DIR is a network path, but I didn't know how i can check this. Or do you have any other Ideas how I can provide a local and a network installation while using this custom action. Would be great if there are any advices, greetings, Martin

Which CMS do I need? Needs to be easy to post a certain kind of post

Hi, I'm creating a site for a video store and it needs to be CMS. I'm doing this for free so I need to use a free CMS like Wordpress, Drupal or Joomla. Do I need a new CMS, a plugin or some PHP of my own? What I need: User accounts Categories Custom post Here's the site as it stands with WP: http://sundancevideo.ca. Right now an experimental site to try to work this out. What I've done now, is created a "Draft" that includes a template table with images and text and so on. The user would then have to copy everything, past into a new post and replace necessary. This really isn't working well. As you may notice by the condition of the posts. What I would prefer is if it was integrated into the WP UI. Like a field for "Description" and field for "Image" where they can upload the images as necessary. This would then generate post, with a table including all the information and images, for as many movies that were added in the UI. Please ask if I'm not being clear. Rails can't find my route but it exists!

Ok I have events that I want to publish/unpublish with an extra action (nonRESTful) I watched Ryan Bates' railscast on this: http://railscasts.com/episodes/35-custom-rest-actions and it got me most of the way. I think the problem is that my route is nested in an /admin section so even though when I run rake routes and get: publish_admin_event PUT /admin/events/:id/publish(.:format) {:controller=>"event_services", :action=>"publish"} This won't work in my /views/admin/index.html.erb file: <%= link_to 'Publish', publish_admin_event(event), :method => :put %> because it claims that path doesn't exist! And neither will this: <%= link_to 'Publish', {:controller => :event_services, :action => :publish}, {:method => :put, :id => event} %> and says that "No route matches {:controller=>"event_services", :action=>"publish"}" so what gives? (And I've tried restarting my server so that isn't it.) EDIT: This DOES work: <%= link_to 'Publish', "/admin/events/" + event.id.to_s + "/publish", :method => :put %> But I'd rather NOT do this.

Best way to store data in database when you don't know the type

I have a table in my database that represents datafields in a custom form. The DataField gives some representation of what kind of control it should be represented with, and what value type it should take. Simplified you can say that I have 2 entities in this table - Textbox taking any string and Textbox only taking numbers. Now I have the different values stored in a separate table, referencing the datafield definition. What is the best way to store the data value here, when the type differs? One possible solution is to have the FieldValue table hold one field per possible value type. Now this would certainly be redundant, but at least I would get the value stored in its correct form - simplifying queries later. FieldValue ---------- Id DataFieldId IntValue DoubleValue BoolValue DataValue .. Another possibility is just storing everything as String, and casting this in the queries. I am using .Net with NHibernate, and I see that at least here there is a Projections.Cast that can be used to cast e.g. string to int in the query. Either way in these two solutions I need to know which type to use when doing the query, but I will know that from the DataField, so that won't be a problem. Anyway; I don't think any of these solutions sounds good. Are they? Or is there a better way?

Facilmente encontramos hoje máquinas clientes com 2, 4 e até 8 núcleos, sem considerar os “super-servidores” com até 36 processadores :) Da wikipedia: A Unidade central de processamento (CPU, de acordo com as iniciais em inglês) ou o processador é a parte de um sistema de computador que executa as instruções de um programa de computador, e é o elemento primordial na execução das funções de um computador. Este termo tem sido usado na indústria de computadores pelo menos desde o início dos anos 1960[1]. A forma, desenho e implementação de CPUs têm mudado dramaticamente desde os primeiros exemplos, mas o seu funcionamento fundamental permanece o mesmo. Fazendo uma analogia, seria muito interessante delegarmos tarefas no mundo real que podem ser executadas independentemente a pessoas diferentes, atingindo desta forma uma maior performance / produtividade na sua execução. A computação paralela se baseia na idéia que um problema maior pode ser dividido em problemas menores, sendo resolvidos de forma paralela. Este pensamento é utilizado há algum tempo por HPC (High-performance computing), e através das facilidades dos últimos anos, assim como a preocupação com consumo de energia, tornaram esta idéia mais atrativa e de fácil acesso a qualquer ambiente. Data Parallelism Ainda parte da TPL, o Data Parallelism se refere a cenários onde a mesma operação deva ser executada paralelamente em elementos de uma coleção ou array, através de instruções paralelas For e ForEach. A idéia básica é pegar cada elemento da coleção (ou array) e trabalhar com diversas threads concomitantemente. Magento - edit form in custom module grid

I have a custom module and I have a working grid to menage the module items in the admin. My module file structore is : app\code\local\G4R\GroupSales\Block\Adminhtml\Groupsale\ I want to add an edit form so I can view and edit each item in the grid. Does Apache ever give incorrect "out of threads" errors?

Lately our Apache web server has been giving us this error multiple times per day: [Tue Apr 06 01:07:10 2010] [error] Server ran out of threads to serve requests. Consider raising the ThreadsPerChild setting We raised our ThreadsPerChild setting from 50 to 100, but we still get the error. Our access logs indicate that these errors never even happen at periods of high load. For example, here's an excerpt from our access log (ip addresses and some urls are edited for privacy). Since the Apache server runs as a separate process and the database doesn't record any problems when this error occurs, I'm doubtful that Oracle is the problem. Unfortunately, the errors are freaking out our sysadmins, who are inclined to blame any and all problems which occur with the server on this error. Is this a known bug in Apache that I simply haven't been able to find any reference to through Google?

In the end my problem is adding the "tempProduct" object to the mutable array dataArray so that I can customize the table cells. Using the json framework im parsing out some json which returns an array of NSDictionary objects. Stepping through that my dictionary objects look good, I populate my custom object with properties for all my fields which goes through fine, and the values look right. However I cant add this to the array, I've tried several different implementations doesn't work. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. In some instances doing a po tempProduct prints the description and sometimes it does not. same with right clicking on the variable and choosing print description. Applying WCAG 2.0 to Non-Web ICT: second draft published from WCAG2ICT Task Force - for public review

Last Thursday the W3C published an updated Working Draft of Guidance on Applying WCAG 2.0 to Non-Web Information and Communications Technologies. As I noted last July when the first draft was published, the motivation for this guidance comes from the Section 508 refresh draft, and also the European Mandate 376 draft, both of which seek to apply the WCAG 2.0 level A and AA Success Criteria to non-web ICT documents and software. This second Working Draft represents a major step forward in harmonization with the December 5th, 2012 Mandate 376 draft documents, including specifically Draft EN 301549 "European accessibility requirements for public procurement of ICT products and services". This work greatly increases the likelihood of harmonization between the European and American technical standards for accessibility, for web sites and web applications, non-web documents, and non-web software. As I noted last October at the European Policy Centre event: "The Accessibility Act – Ensuring access to goods and services across the EU", and again last month at the follow-up EPC event: "Accessibility - From European challenge to global opportunity", "There isn't a 'German Macular Degernation', a 'French Cerebral Palsy', an 'American Autism Spectrum Disorder'. Disabilities are part of the human condition. They’re not unique to any one country or geography – just like ICT. Even the built environment – phones, trains and cars – is the same worldwide. The definition of ‘accessible’ should be global – and the solutions should be too. Harmonization should be global, and not just EU-wide. It doesn’t make sense for the EU to have a different definition to the US or Japan." With these latest drafts from the W3C and Mandate 376 team, we've moved a major step forward toward that goal of a global "definition of 'accessible' ICT." I strongly encourage all interested parties to read the Call for Review, and to submit comments during the current review period, which runs through 15 February 2013. Comments should be sent to public-wcag2ict-comments-AT-w3.org. Window out of the screen when maximized using WPF shell integration library

Asp.NET custom templated datalist throws argument out of range (index) on button press

I have a class BaseTemplate public abstract class BaseTemplate : ITemplate This adds the controls, and provides abstract methods to implement in the inheriting class. The inheriting class then adds its html according to its data source and manages the data binding. This all works fine - I get the control appearing with properly parsed html. The problem is that the base class adds controls into the template that have their own CommandName arguments; the idea is that the class that implements the custom templated dataList will provide the logic of setting the Selected and Edit Indexes. This class also manages the data binding, etc. It sets all of the templates on the datalist in the Init method (which was another cause of this exception). The exception gets thrown when I hit one of these buttons - I have tried hooking up both their click and command events everywhere in case this was the problem. I have also ensured that their command names do not match any of the system ones. The stack trace does not include any references to my methods or objects which is why I am so stuck. It is the most unhelpful message I can imagine. The really frustrating thing is that I cannot get a breakpoint to fire - i.e. the problem is happening after I click the button, but before and of my code can execute. The last time this exception happened was when I had this code in a user control and was assigning the templates to the datalist in the PageLoad. I moved these into init to fix that problem; however, this is a problem that was there then and I have no idea what is causing it let alone how to solve it (and index out of range doesn't really help without knowing what index.) Dashcode: How to create a custom/new Project Template?

I'm trying to customize the javascript that Dashcode uses. So that I won't step on Apple's Project Templates, I want to make a custom project template that would appear as a choice after you click "New Project." I have been able to modify one of the existing templates (like, Custom, Browser, Utility, RSS, and Podcast). I can not, however, seem to add a new template to the list, like adding "JJ's Awesome New Cross Platform Template" as a choice. I have tried copying the directory Plugins/TemplateWebCustom.wdgtTemplate and changing in Custom's Info.plist file the com.apple.Dashcode.template.web.custom to, say com.apple.Dashcode.template.web.custom2 and in Resouces/project.plist updating the key value pair: TemplateIdentifier ==>com.apple.Dashcode.template.web.custom Is it possible to add a new Project Template? What is the "proper" way to get the value stored in a particular field within a custom Drupal node? I've created a custom module, with a custom node, with a custom URL field. Extending struts 2 "property" data tag

Hi, We are currently developing a project with Struts2. We have a module on which we display a large amount of data on read-only fields from a group of beans via the "property" Struts 2 data tag (i.e. <s:property value="aBeanProperty" /) on a jsp file. In some cases most of the fields might come empty, so a blank is being displayed on screen. Our customer is now requesting us to display default string (i.e. "N/A") whenever a property comes empty, so that it is displayed in place of the blank spaces currently shown. We are looking for a way to achieve this in a clean and maintainable way. The 'property' tag comes with a 'default' attribute on which one can define a default value in cases when the accessed property comes as null. However, most of our properties are empty strings, therefore it does not work in our case. Another solution we are thinking of is to define a base class for all of our beans, and define a util method which will validate if a string is null or empty and then return the default value. Then we would call this method from each bean getter. And yes this would be tiresome and kind of ugly :), therefore we are holding out on this one in case of a better solution. Now, we have in mind a solution which we think would be the best but have not had luck on how implement it. We are planning on extending the 'property' tag some way, defining a new 'default' attribute so that besides working on null properties, it also do so on empty strings ("", " ", etc). Therefore we would only need to replace the original s:property tag with our new custom tag, and the desired result would be achieved without touching java code. Do you have an idea on how to do this? Also, any other clever solution (maybe some sort of design pattern?) on how to default the values of a large amount of property beans are welcome too! (Or maybe, even there might be some tag that does this already in Struts2??) Thanks in advance.

error at build time, and a day of google searching has turned up other instances of this error caused by different triggers, and solutions for those propblems didn't work for me. I also found a single report on the Oracle forums that seemed to be a carbon copy of this issue, but there were no replies. The application is written in Weblogic Workshop 10, runs on Weblogic Server 10.3, and uses Beehive / NetUI. Not sure if that would make a difference or not though. The build scripts were automatically generated by Weblogic Workshop, with some tweaks and fixes made to other aspects of the files by myself to fix other compatability issues. I am using Java 1.6.0_23 from Sun, and Ant 1.8.1 Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

IOs7 app crashing when in background
