  hello fellow java developers, Im trying toget the System.getProperty("os.name") of my own machine. I am running a java application directly from the machine from within eclipse. My machine is "windows 7" the returned value is "windows vista" ! Seems wrong, very wrong. and yes I am sure that I am running the app on a windows 7 machine... I tried downloading the version 1.6.0 of VSS plugin from http://sourceforge.net/projects/vssplugin/ , but that did not help as it seems this version of the plugin does not support WSAD 5.1 as it uses eclipse 2.1 Any help would be appreciated.

  I've just made a program with Eclipse that takes a really long time to execute. It's taking even longer because it's loading my CPU to 25% only (I'm assuming that is because I'm using a quad-core and the program is only using one core). Is there any way to make the program use all 4 cores to max it out? Java is supposed to be natively multi-threaded, so I don't understand why it would only use 25%.

• Possible to change where Android Virtual Devices are saved?

  I've set up the Android SDK and Eclipse on my machine running Windows XP and AVDs (Android Virtual Devices) are saved to "Documents and Settings\user\.android" by default. Is there any way to change this behavior? I have all of the other components saved in a directory on a separate partition and would like everything to be consolidated. Obviously not a huge deal but does anyone here know a workaround for this?

  In every modern day IDE and text editor, there is an action to open a file without putting your hand on the mouse. For example: Eclipse: Cmd|Ctrl+Shift+R - Open Resource IntellIJ: Cmd|Ctrl+Shift+N - Open File TextMate: Cmd+T - Go to File In Xcode, I have found no such options. Please, please tell me I just overlooked it in my growing frustration. Is there a "Go to file" or "Open File" shortcut in Xcode?

BTW. Eclipse is reporting an error on the second line with message Invalid lvalue in increment so i'm trying to figure out how to solve this.
