  • MSWord automation:Get file contents after it was saved

    - by BlackTigerX
I have an application that uses MSWord automation to edit some documents, after they save and close word I need to grab the modified file and put it back on the repository, there is only one scenario where I can't get it to work and that is when the user makes changes to the file, selects to close word and selects yes to save the file there are 2 events that I'm using: DocumentBeforeSave Quit on the Quit event I'm trying to load the .docx file from disk but on this particular scenario I get an IOException because the file is still in use, somehow I need to wait until after the Quit event has been processed, which is when Word is actually closed and the file is no longer being used right now I have it working using this word.Visible = true; while (!wordDone) { //gets changed to true on the Quit event System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(100); } bool error = false; do { try { //need to load the contents of the modified file ls.Content = System.IO.File.ReadAllBytes(provider.GetFileName()); error = false; } catch (System.IO.IOException) { error = true; System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(200); } } while (error); while this works it is very ugly, I need a way to fire an event after the Quit event has been handled, or block the current thread while word is still running, or get an event after the document has been saved, the bottom line is I need a clean way to load the file after it has been saved and word is closed. DocumentAfterSave would be awesome, but doesn't seem to exist. I Also tried unhooking the Quit handler and calling word.Quit on the Quit handler, that made no difference

  • Getting "<kml:..." everywhere, updating a Kml file

    - by Rafe Lavelle
I'm reading in a Kml file, changing the placemarks' names, and saving it again. var KmlFile = XDocument.Load("C:\\Inetpub\\wwwroot\\GeotagService\\Kml\\Photographs.kml"); XNamespace KmlNamespace = "http://www.opengis.net/kml/2.2"; // find the Placemarks in the Photos folder IEnumerable<XElement> Placemarks = KmlFile.Element(KmlNamespace + "kml").Element(KmlNamespace + "Document").Element(KmlNamespace + "Folder").Elements(KmlNamespace + "Placemark"); foreach (XElement p in Placemarks){ p.Element(KmlNamespace + "name").Value = "testing"; } KmlFile.Save("C:\\Inetpub\\wwwroot\\GeotagService\\Kml\\Photographs.kml"); When I save it however, every element is prefixed with <kml:, like this: <kml:Folder> <kml:name>Photos</kml:name> <kml:open>1</kml:open> <kml:Placemark> <kml:name>testing</kml:name> <kml:LookAt> <kml:longitude>-10.02717694938161</kml:longitude> <kml:latitude>53.48672543547379</kml:latitude> <kml:altitude>0</kml:altitude> </kml:LookAt> <kml:styleUrl>#msn_ylw-pushpin1</kml:styleUrl> <kml:Point> <kml:coordinates>-10.02867619360582,53.48651240326751,0</kml:coordinates> </kml:Point> </kml:Placemark>... Tomalak's comment on this question about blank xmlns gives me a clue that it might be inconsistencies between the namespaces of the document and the elements, but I can't see how I'm doing that. Anyone know?

  • django-mptt: how to successfully move nodes around

    - by Parand
django-mptt seems determined to drive me out of my mind. I'm trying to do something relatively simple: I'm going to delete a node, and need to do something reasonable with the node's children. Namely, I'd like to move them up one level so they're children of their current parent's parent. That is, if the tree looks like: Root | Grandpa | Father | | C1 C2 I'm going to delete Father, and would like C1 and C2 to be children of Grandpa. Here's the code I'm using: class Node(models.Model): first_name = models.CharField(max_length=80, blank=True) parent = models.ForeignKey('self', null=True, blank=True, related_name='children') def reparent_children(self, parent): print "Reparenting" for child in self.get_children(): print "Working on", child.first_name, "to parent", parent.email parent = Node.objects.get(id=parent.id) child.move_to(parent, 'last-child') child.save() So I'd call: father.reparent_children(grandpa) father.parent = None father.save() This works - almost. The children report their parents as Grandpa: c1.parent == grandpa # True Grandpa counts C1 and C2 among its children c1 in grandpa.children.all() # True However, Root disowns these kids. c1.get_root() == father # c1's root is father, instead of Root c1 in root.get_descendants() # False How do I get the children to move and their root not get corrupted?

  • Robotium - Write to file in eclipse workspace or computer file system

    - by Flavio Capaccio
    I'm running some tests using Robotium on an Android application that interacts with a web-portal. I'd like to save some information to file; for example I need to save the id of the username I created from the app and I want to make it read from Selenium to run tests on web-portal to verify a webpage for that user has been created. Is it possible? Could someone suggest me a solution or a work-around? This is an example of code, but it doesn't work (I want to write to a file for example on c:\myworkspace\filename.txt a string): public void test_write_file(){ if(!solo.searchText("HOME")){ signIn("39777555333", VALID_PASSWORD); } try { String content = "This is the content to write into file"; File file = new File("filename.txt"); // if file doesnt exists, then create it if (!file.exists()) { file.createNewFile(); } FileWriter fw = new FileWriter(file.getAbsoluteFile()); BufferedWriter bw = new BufferedWriter(fw); bw.write(content); bw.close(); } catch (IOException e) { // TODO Auto-generated catch block e.printStackTrace(); } assertTrue(solo.searchText("HOME")); }

  • OleDb database to DataSet and back in c#?

    - by Troy
I'm writing a program that lets a user: Connect to an (arbitrary) View all of the tables in that database in separate DataGridViews Edit them in the program, generate random data, and see the results Choose to commit those changes or revert So I discovered the DataSet class, which looks like it's capable of holding everything that a database would, and I decided that the best thing to do here would be to load everything into one dataset, let the user edit it, and then save the dataset back to the database. The problem is that the only way I can find to load the database tables is this: set = new DataSet(); DataTable schema = connection.GetOleDbSchemaTable( OleDbSchemaGuid.Tables, new string[] { null, null, null, "TABLE" }); foreach (DataRow row in schema.Rows) { string tableName = row.Field<string>("TABLE_NAME"); DataTable dTable = new DataTable(); new OleDbDataAdapter("SELECT * FROM " + tableName, connection).Fill(dTable); dTable.TableName = tableName; set.Tables.Add(dTable); } while it seems like there should be a simpler way given that datasets appear to be designed for exactly this purpose. The real problem though is when I try saving these things. In order to use the OleDbDataAdapter.Update() method, I'm told that I have to provide valid INSERT queries. Doesn't that kind of negate the whole point of having a class to handle this stuff for me? Anyway, I'm hoping somebody can either explain how to load and save a database into a dataset or maybe give me a better idea of how to do what I'm trying to do. I could always parse the commands together myself, but that doesn't seem like the best solution.

  • nested attributes with polymorphic has_one model

    - by Millisami
I am using accepts_nested_attributes_for with the has_one polymorphic model in rails 2.3.5 Following are the models and its associations: class Address < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :city, :address1, :address2 belongs_to :addressable, :polymorphic => true validates_presence_of :address1, :address2, :city end class Vendor < ActiveRecord::Base attr_accessible :name, :address_attributes has_one :address, :as => :addressable, :dependent => :destroy accepts_nested_attributes_for :address end This is the view: - form_for @vendor do |f| = f.error_messages %p = f.label :name %br = f.text_field :name - f.fields_for :address_attributes do |address| = render "shared/address_fields", :f => address %p = f.submit "Create" This is the partial shared/address_fields.html.haml %p = f.label :city %br= f.text_field :city %span City/Town name like Dharan, Butwal, Kathmandu, .. %p = f.label :address1 %br= f.text_field :address1 %span City Street name like Lazimpat, New Road, .. %p = f.label :address2 %br= f.text_field :address2 %span Tole, Marg, Chowk name like Pokhrel Tole, Shanti Marg, Pako, .. And this is the controller: class VendorsController < ApplicationController def new @vendor = Vendor.new end def create @vendor = Vendor.new(params[:vendor]) if @vendor.save flash[:notice] = "Vendor created successfully!" redirect_to @vendor else render :action => 'new' end end end The problem is when I fill in all the fileds, the record gets save on both tables as expected. But when I just the name and city or address1 filed, the validation works, error message shown, but the value I put in the city or address1, is not persisted or not displayed inside the address form fields? This is the same case with edit action too. Though the record is saved, the address doesn't show up on the edit form. Only the name of the Client model is shown. Actually, when I look at the log, the address model SQL is not queried even at all.

  • IE7 issue - cannot download streamed file when Automatic prompting for file downloads is disabled

    - by Jai ganesh K
Hi, My application is J2EE (JSP/Servlet) based. I encounter an issue when i try to open a new window (pop-up) from JSP and call a Servlet action (e.g. Streamer.do) which streams a PDF file inside that pop-up. Problem: While IE 7 - Tools - Internet Options - Security - Custom Level - Downloads - Automatic prompting for file downloads is Disabled and while pop-up window get opened, I am unable to download the file (Save/Open prompt is not comming up). In contrast, when I enable this option, I am able to download. But this option sometimes would be disabled in some environments. While testing this in Mozilla Firefox 3.0/3/5/IE6 it is working fine without any settings change. When i check it to enable i then get the Save/Open prompt to work correctly. This should be problem with IE7. Can anybody help us with Javascript or any working settings which doesnt care whether the "Automatic prompting for downloads" option in IE7 is enabled. Any help in this would be much appreciated. Regards! Jai

  • Storing statistics of multple data types in SQL Server 2008

    - by Mike
I am creating a statistics module in SQL Server 2008 that allows users to save data in any number of formats (date, int, decimal, percent, etc...). Currently I am using a single table to store these values as type varchar, with an extra field to denote the datatype that it should be. When I display the value, I use that datatype field to format it. I use sprocs to calculate the data for reporting; and the datatype field to convert to the appropriate datatype for the appropriate calculations. This approach works, but I don't like storing all kinds of data in a varchar field. The only alternative that I can see is to have separate tables for each datatype I want to store, and save the record information to the appropriate table based on datatype. To retreive, I run a case statement to join the appropriate table and get the data. This seems to solve. This however, seems like a lot of work for ... what gain? Wondering if I'm missing something here. Is there a better way to do this? Thanks in advance!

  • Nested Forms not passing belongs_to :id

    - by Bill Christian
I have the following model class Project < ActiveRecord::Base has_many :assignments, :conditions => {:deleted_at => nil} has_many :members, :conditions => {:deleted_at => nil} accepts_nested_attributes_for :members, :allow_destroy => true end class Member < ActiveRecord::Base belongs_to :project belongs_to :person belongs_to :role has_many :assignments, :dependent => :destroy, :conditions => {:deleted_at => nil} accepts_nested_attributes_for :assignments, :allow_destroy => true validates_presence_of :role_id validates_presence_of :project_id end and I assume the controller will populate the member.project_id upon project.save for each nested member record. However, I get a validation error stating the project_id is blank. My controller method: def create # @project is created in before_filter if @project.save flash[:notice] = "Successfully created project." redirect_to @project else render :action => 'new' end end Do I need to manually set the project_id in each nested member record? Or what is necessary for the controller to populate when it creates the member records?

  • How to determine if DataGridView contains uncommitted changes when bound to a SqlDataAdapter

    - by JYelton
I have a form which contains a DataGridView, a BindingSource, a DataTable, and a SqlDataAdapter. I populate the grid and data bindings as follows: private BindingSource bindingSource = new BindingSource(); private DataTable table = new DataTable(); private SqlDataAdapter dataAdapter = new SqlDataAdapter("SELECT * FROM table ORDER BY id ASC;", ClassSql.SqlConn()); private void LoadData() { table.Clear(); dataGridView1.AutoGenerateColumns = false; dataGridView1.DataSource = bindingSource; SqlCommandBuilder commandBuilder = new SqlCommandBuilder(dataAdapter); table.Locale = System.Globalization.CultureInfo.InvariantCulture; dataAdapter.Fill(table); bindingSource.DataSource = table; } The user can then make changes to the data, and commit those changes or discard them by clicking either a save or cancel button, respectively. private void btnSave_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { // save everything to the displays table dataAdapter.Update(table); } private void btnCancel_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { // alert user if unsaved changes, otherwise close form } I would like to add a dialog if cancel is clicked that warns the user of unsaved changes, if unsaved changes exist. Question: How can I determine if the user has modified data in the DataGridView but not committed it to the database? Is there an easy way to compare the current DataGridView data to the last-retrieved query? (Note that there would not be any other threads or users altering data in SQL at the same time.)

  • C# winforms: graphics.DrawImage problem

    - by Tony
Hi, I have a really strange problem with Graphics.DrawImage method. I have the PictureBox control in the Panel control with AllowScroll property = true. The program cuts the image on small parts basing on the area selected by the user. I load the image 300x547 and select the area (the red rectangle): program properly cuts the image: then, I load another image 427x640: and then, as the result I see that the image is not cut properly. Each img.jpg file has properly width & height but the drawn image is too small: here's the code snippet - it saves the bitmap area selected by the user: Bitmap bmp = new Bitmap(selectedAreaRECT.Width, selectedAreaRECT.Height); Graphics g = Graphics.FromImage(bmp); g.DrawImage(OriginalIMG, 0,0, selectedAreaRECT, GraphicsUnit.Pixel); g.Save(); g.Dispose(); bmp.Save(AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory + @"\Temp\" + "img1.jpg", System.Drawing.Imaging.ImageFormat.Jpeg); As You see, the code is the same for the img1.jpg from image A and from Image B. I'm trying to resolve that stupid problem for too long, I don't know what's the reason of that problem. I tried diffrent constructors of the DrawImage method, with no success

  • FasterCSV Parsing issue?

    - by Schroedinger
G'day guys, I'm currently using fastercsv to construct ActiveRecord elements and I can't for the life of me see this bug (tired), but for some reason when it creates, if in the rake file i output the column I want to save as the element value, it puts out correctly, as either a Trade or a Quote but when I try to save it into the activerecord, it won't work. FasterCSV.foreach("input.csv", :headers => true) do |row| d = DateTime.parse(row[1]+" "+row[2]) offset = Rational(row[3].to_i,24) o = d.new_offset(offset) t = Trade.create( :name => row[0], :type => row[4], :time => o, :price => row[6].to_f, :volume => row[7].to_i, :bidprice => row[10].to_f, :bidsize => row[11].to_i, :askprice => row[14].to_f, :asksize => row[15].to_i ) end Ideas? Name and Type are both strings, every other value works except for type. Have I missed something really simple?

  • How to avoid an HttpException due to timeout

    - by Dan
I'm working on a website powered by .NET asp/C# code. The clients require that sessions have a 25 minute timeout. However, sometimes the site is used, and a user stays connected for long periods of time (longer than 25 mins). Session_End is triggered: protected void Session_End(Object sender, EventArgs e) { Hashtable trackingInformaiton = (Hashtable)Application["trackingInformation"]; trackingInformaiton.Remove(Session["trackingID"]); } The user returns some time later, but when they interact with the website, they get an error, and we get this email notification: User: Unauthenticated User Error: System.Web.HttpException Description: Failed to load viewstate. The control tree into which viewstate is being loaded must match the control tree that was used to save viewstate during the previous request... The telling part of the stack trace is System.Web.UI.Control.AddedControl. Apparently, the server has thrown away the session data, and is sending new data, but the client is trying to deal with old data. Hence the error that "the control tree into which viewstate is being loaded [doesn't] match the control tree that was used to save the viewstate during the prevoius request." So here's the question. How can I force instruct the user's browser to redirect to a "you're logged out" screen when the connection times out? (Is it something I should add to the Session_End method?)

  • iPhone - User Defaults and UIImages

    - by Staros
Hello, I've been developing an iPhone app for the last few months. Recently I wanted to up performance and cache a few of the images that are used in the UI. The images are downloaded randomly from the web by the user so I can't add specific images to the project. I'm also already using NSUserDefaults to save other info within the app. So now I'm attempting to save a dictionary of UIImages to my NSUserDefaults object and get... -[UIImage encodeWithCoder:]: unrecognized selector sent to instance I then decided to subclass UIImage with a class named UISaveableImage and implement NSCoding. So now I'm at... @implementation UISaveableImage -(void)encodeWithCoder:(NSCoder *)encoder { [encoder encodeObject:super forKey:@"image"]; } -(id)initWithCoder:(NSCoder *)decoder { if (self=[super init]){ super = [decoder decodeObjectForKey:@"image"]; } return self; } @end which isn't any better than where I started. If I was able to convert an UIImage to NSData I would be good, but all I can find are function like UIImagePNGRepresentation which require me to know what type of image this was. Something that UIImage doesn't allow me to do. Thoughts? I feel like I might have wandered down the wrong path...

  • Spring - SessionAttribute problem

    - by Max
Hello, I want to implement something like this: @Controller @SessionAttributes("promotion") class PromotionController { @RequestMapping("showPromo") void showPromotionInfo( @RequestParam("promId") String promotionId, @ModelAttribute Promotion promotion, Errors errors ) { promotion = Promotions.get(promotionId); if (promotion == null || promotion.validates() == false) { errors.reject("promotion.invalid"); } return "prom"; } } The code is invalid, wont work and has some bad errors, but I don't know how to write it better. When user comes to an URL "showPromo?promId=15", controller should validate if the promotion is valid (outdated/non-existent/etc.). If it is valid - it should show it's information and save the promotion to model and session. If it's not - it should show some error about promotion being invalid. Problem is, I need to save the promotion in the session (for several requests) and don't want to use direct session management. Is it currently possible with Spring? Or am I doing something wrong? Could you please provide the optimal solution to my problem using Spring 3? Thanks in advance.

  • How would I write the following applescript in Obj-C AppScript? ASTranslate was of no help =(

    - by demonslayer319
The translation tool isn't able to translate this working code. I copied it out of a working script. set pathToTemp to (POSIX path of ((path to desktop) as string)) -- change jpg to pict tell application "Image Events" try launch set albumArt to open file (pathToTemp & "albumart.jpg") save albumArt as PICT in file (pathToTemp & "albumart.pict") --the first 512 bytes are the PICT header, so it reads from byte 513 --this is to allow the image to be added to an iTunes track later. set albumArt to (read file (pathToTemp & "albumart.pict") from 513 as picture) close end try end tell The code is taking a jpg image, converting it to a PICT file, and then reading the file minus the header (the first 512 bytes). Later in the script, albumArt will be added to an iTunes track. I tried translating the code (minus the comments), but ASTranslate froze for a good 2 minutes before giving me this: Untranslated event 'earsffdr' #import "IEGlue/IEGlue.h" IEApplication *imageEvents = [IEApplication applicationWithName: @"Image Events"]; IELaunchCommand *cmd = [[imageEvents launch] ignoreReply]; id result = [cmd send]; #import "IEGlue/IEGlue.h" IEApplication *imageEvents = [IEApplication applicationWithName: @"Image Events"]; IEReference *ref = [[imageEvents files] byName: @"/Users/Doom/Desktop/albumart.jpg"]; id result = [[ref open] send]; #import "IEGlue/IEGlue.h" IEApplication *imageEvents = [IEApplication applicationWithName: @"Image Events"]; IEReference *ref = [[imageEvents images] byName: @"albumart.jpg"]; IESaveCommand *cmd = [[[ref save] in: [[imageEvents files] byName: @"/Users/Doom/Desktop/albumart.pict"]] as: [IEConstant PICT]]; id result = [cmd send]; 'crdwrread' Traceback (most recent call last): File "objcrenderer.pyc", line 283, in renderCommand KeyError: 'crdwrread' 'cascrgdut' Traceback (most recent call last): File "objcrenderer.pyc", line 283, in renderCommand KeyError: 'cascrgdut' 'crdwrread' Traceback (most recent call last): File "objcrenderer.pyc", line 283, in renderCommand KeyError: 'crdwrread' Untranslated event 'rdwrread' OK I have no clue how to make sense of this. My requirement is to update the listbox only when the user hit the save button but not on every key press on dialog box. I first fill the generic list with the linq to sql classes then bind the listbox with it. Please let me know what i have to do. Thanks in advance

  • How to serialize a Bundle?

    - by hermo
I'd like to serialize a Bundle object, but can't seem to find a simple way of doing it. Using Parcel doesn't seem like an option, since I want to store the serialized data to file. Any ideas on ways to do this? The reason I want this is to save and restore the state of my activity, also when it's killed by the user. I already create a Bundle with the state I want to save in onSaveInstanceState. But android only keeps this Bundle when the activity is killed by the SYSTEM. When the user kills the activity, I need to store it myself. Hence i'd like to serialize and store it to file. Of course, if you have any other way of accomplishing the same thing, i'd be thankful for that too. Edit: I decided to encode my state as a JSONObject instead of a Bundle. The JSON object can then be put in a Bundle as a Serializable, or stored to file. Probably not the most efficient way, but it's simple, and it seems to work ok.

  • How do I get syncdb db_table and app_label to play nicely together

    - by Chris Heisel
I've got a model that looks something like this: class HeiselFoo(models.Model): title = models.CharField(max_length=250) class Meta: """ Meta """ app_label = "Foos" db_table = u"medley_heiselfoo_heiselfoo" And whenever I run my test suite, I get an error because Django isn't creating the tables for that model. It appears to be an interaction between app_label and db_table -- as the test suite runs normally if db_table is set, but app_label isn't. Here's a link to the full source code: http://github.com/cmheisel/heiselfoo Here's the traceback from the test suite: E ====================================================================== ERROR: test_truth (heiselfoo.tests.HeiselFooTests) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Traceback (most recent call last): File "/Users/chris/Code/heiselfoo/ve/lib/python2.6/site-packages/heiselfoo/tests.py", line 10, in test_truth f.save() File "/Users/chris/Code/heiselfoo/ve/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/db/models/base.py", line 434, in save self.save_base(using=using, force_insert=force_insert, force_update=force_update) File "/Users/chris/Code/heiselfoo/ve/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/db/models/base.py", line 527, in save_base result = manager._insert(values, return_id=update_pk, using=using) File "/Users/chris/Code/heiselfoo/ve/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/db/models/manager.py", line 195, in _insert return insert_query(self.model, values, **kwargs) File "/Users/chris/Code/heiselfoo/ve/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/db/models/query.py", line 1479, in insert_query return query.get_compiler(using=using).execute_sql(return_id) File "/Users/chris/Code/heiselfoo/ve/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/db/models/sql/compiler.py", line 783, in execute_sql cursor = super(SQLInsertCompiler, self).execute_sql(None) File "/Users/chris/Code/heiselfoo/ve/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/db/models/sql/compiler.py", line 727, in execute_sql cursor.execute(sql, params) File "/Users/chris/Code/heiselfoo/ve/lib/python2.6/site-packages/django/db/backends/sqlite3/base.py", line 200, in execute return Database.Cursor.execute(self, query, params) DatabaseError: no such table: medley_heiselfoo_heiselfoo ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Ran 1 test in 0.004s FAILED (errors=1) Creating test database 'default'... • Parsing SOAP XML in Oracle

    - by user258587
Hi I am new to Oracle and I am working on something that needs to parse a SOAP request and save the address to DB Tables. I am using the XML parser in Oracle (XMLType) with XPath but am struggling since I can't figure out the way to parse the SOAP request because it has multiple namespaces. Could anyone give me an example? Thanks in advance!!! edit It would be a typical SOAP request similar to the one below. <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:soap="http://soap.service.****.com"> <soapenv:Header /> <soapenv:Body> <soap:UpdateElem> <soap:request> <soap:att1>123456789</soap:att1> <soap:att2 xsi:nil="true" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" /> <soap:att3>L</soap:att3> ..... </soap:request> </soap:UpdateElem> </soapenv:Body> </soapenv:Envelope> I need to retrieve parameters att1, att2... and save them in to a DB table.

  • How do I set the default selection for NSTreeController at startup?

    - by John Gallagher
The Background I've built a source list (similar to iTunes et al.) in my Cocoa app. I've got an NSOutlineView, with Value column bound to arrangedObjects.name key path of an NSTreeController. The NSTreeController accesses JGSourceListNode entities in a Core Data store. I have three subclasses of JGSourceListNode - JGProjectNode, JGGroupNode and JGFolderNode. I have selectedIndexPaths on NSTreeController bound to an NSArray called selectedIndexPaths in my App Delegate. On startup, I search for group nodes and if they're not found in the core data store I create them: if ([allGroupNodes count] == 0) { JGGroupNode *rootTrainingNode = [JGGroupNode insertInManagedObjectContext:context]; [rootTrainingNode setNodeName:@"TRAIN"]; JGProjectNode *childUntrainedNode = [JGProjectNode insertInManagedObjectContext:context]; [childUntrainedNode setParent:rootTrainingNode]; [childUntrainedNode setNodeName:@"Untrained"]; JGGroupNode *rootBrowsingNode = [JGGroupNode insertInManagedObjectContext:context]; [rootBrowsingNode setNodeName:@"BROWSE"]; JGFolderNode *childFolder = [JGFolderNode insertInManagedObjectContext:context]; [childFolder setNodeName:@"Folder"]; [childFolder setParent:rootBrowsingNode]; [context save:nil]; } What I Want When I start the app, I want both top level groups to be expanded and "Untrained" to be highlighted as shown: The Problem I put the following code in the applicationDidFinishLaunching: method of the app delegate: [sourceListOutlineView expandItem:[sourceListOutlineView itemAtRow:0]]; [sourceListOutlineView expandItem:[sourceListOutlineView itemAtRow:2]]; NSIndexPath *rootIndexPath = [NSIndexPath indexPathWithIndex:0]; NSIndexPath *childIndexPath = [rootIndexPath indexPathByAddingIndex:0]; [self setSelectedIndexPaths:[NSArray arrayWithObject:childIndexPath]]; but the outline view seems to not have been prepared yet, so this code does nothing. Ideally, eventually I want to save the last selection the user had made and restore this on a restart. The Question I'm sure it's possible using some crazy KVO to observe when the NSTreeController or NSOutlineView gets populated then expand the items and change the selection, but that feels clumsy and too much like a work around. How would I do this elegantly?

  • Isolated storage misunderstand

    - by Costa
    Hi this is a discussion between me and me to understand isolated storage issue. can you help me to convince me about isolated storage!! This is a code written in windows form app (reader) that read the isolated storage of another win form app (writer) which is signed. where is the security if the reader can read the writer's file, I thought only signed code can access the file! If all .Net applications born equal and have all permissions to access Isolated storage, where is the security then? If I can install and run Exe from isolated storage, why I don't install a virus and run it, I am trusted to access this area. but the virus or what ever will not be trusted to access the rest of file system, it only can access the memory, and this is dangerous enough. I cannot see any difference between using app data folder to save the state and using isolated storage except a long nasty path!! I want to try give low trust to Reader code and retest, but they said "Isolated storage is actually created for giving low trusted application the right to save its state". Reader code: private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { String path = @"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\IsolatedStorage\efv5cmbz.ewt\2ehuny0c.qvv\StrongName.5v3airc2lkv0onfrhsm2h3uiio35oarw\AssemFiles\toto12\ABC.txt"; StreamReader reader = new StreamReader(path); var test = reader.ReadLine(); reader.Close(); } Writer: private void button1_Click(object sender, EventArgs e) { IsolatedStorageFile isolatedFile = IsolatedStorageFile.GetMachineStoreForAssembly(); isolatedFile.CreateDirectory("toto12"); IsolatedStorageFileStream isolatedStorage = new IsolatedStorageFileStream(@"toto12\ABC.txt", System.IO.FileMode.Create, isolatedFile); StreamWriter writer = new StreamWriter(isolatedStorage); writer.WriteLine("Ana 2akol we ashrab kai a3eesh wa akbora"); writer.Close(); writer.Dispose(); }
