    I'm currently implementing a client application that POST's a file over HTTP and have implemented base64 encoding on the file's data parameter. However, it appears that when inspecting the traffic between a simple HTML page with a file upload form and the server that no Content-Transfer-Encoding header is sent in the body when describing the file's parameter. Is this the preferred way of POST'ing a file over HTTP?

  • Why are emails sent from my applications being marked as spam?

    Hi. I have 2 web apps running on the same server. The first is www.nimikri.com and the other is www.hourjar.com. Both apps share the same IP address (75.127.100.175). My server is through a shared hosting company. I've been testing my apps, and at first all my emails were being delivered to me just fine. Then a few days ago every email from both apps got dumped into my spam box (in gmail and google apps). So far the apps have just been sending emails to me and nobody else, so I know people aren't manually flagging them as spam. I did a reverse DNS lookup for my IP and the results I got were these: 100.127.75.in-addr.arpa NS DNS2.GNAX.NET. 100.127.75.in-addr.arpa NS DNS1.GNAX.NET. Should the reverse DNS lookup point to nimikri.com and hourjar.com, or are they set up fine the way they are? I noticed in the email header these 2 lines: Received: from nimikri.nimikri.com From: Hour Jar <[email protected]> Would the different domain names be causing gmail to think this is spam?     I'm using Ion Auth and trying to implement the forgotten password feature which relies upon an email being sent from CI. My LAMP server is on a shared cPanel account and uses sendmail. However, I have the ability to over-ride any PHP settings with my own php.ini file in the public_html directory. You are required to use the date.timezone setting or the date_default_timezone_set() function. When I remove my config/email.php file AND set Ion Auth's use_ci_email to FALSE, the Error Warnings go away. Where did I go wrong? Just before I hit the submit button, I solved this problem. I'm still going to post this question as a learning experience for others. If nobody solves this after a reasonable amount of time, I'll post the solution.

    I've got an android app that plays mp3s over HTTP. I give the Mediaplayer a URL using setDataSource, then call start in onPrepared, and all is well. Now, I'm trying to implement seeking. When i call seekTo, I don't see the Mediaplayer make a second request using the Range header to my webserver. From reading around, it seems like Android supports this. Do I need to do anything extra to get it to work? Thanks

    I have a layout that contains some text fields and has a background image that's displayed at the top of my activity. I'd like the background image to scale to wrap the content (don't care about aspect ratio). However, the image is larger than content, so the layout instead wraps the background image. Scale a Drawable or background image? Based on this, I created a FrameLayout w/ an ImageView showing the background. Unfortunately, I still can't get it to work. I want the height of the background image to shrink/expand w/ the size of the text views, but with the FrameLayout, the ImageView fits to the size of it's parent, and I can't find a way to make the parent fit to the size the text view layout.     If I run an audit on my sites with Google Chrome, I get this message in the Leverage browser caching section: The following resources are missing a cache expiration. Resources that do not specify an expiration may not be cached by browsers: A list of all the pictures follows. I get a similar notice in Leverage proxy caching: Consider adding a "Cache-Control: public" header to the following resources: Apart from pictures, I also get a notice about HTML, CSS and JavaScript files: The following resources are explicitly non-cacheable. Consider making them cacheable if possible: Its funny because I've worked hard to cache all static contents (except for pictures, where I just left Apache's default settings). Firefox does indeed store all these items in cache. Is there anything I should improve in my HTTP headers? Here's the complete header set of some items as loaded after removing the browser caché. Pictures use default settings I didn't really check before, the rest should be cachéd for three hours. I can set headers with both .htaccess and PHP.     Ok, I have a hardcoded string I declare like this name = u"Par Catégorie" I have a # -- coding: utf-8 -- magic header, so I am guessing it's converted to utf-8 Down the road it's outputted to xml through xml_output.toprettyxml(indent='....', encoding='utf-8') And I get a UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xc3 in position 3: ordinal not in range(128) Most of my data is in French and is ouputted correctly in CDATA nodes, but that one harcoded string keep ... I don't see why an ascii codec is called. what's wrong ?
