• Mac Book Pro and Photosohp working canvas lost off screen somewhere

  I seem to have a unique issue. I have a mac book pro which I often have connected to one or 2 additional monitors, and I think this is in part my issue. Cause when Im at home working with only the built in monitor and I go to open something new or existing in photoshop my canvas if you will call it that is no where to be found. I checked my display settings, its treating it as a one monitor solution. I've tried to in photoshop to bring all my windows to front, Ive tried to cascade and tile my windows, ive tried to reset my work area, and to no avail I can't for the life of me get the canvas to come to my screen so I can work with what ever I intend to work on. Anyone else have this problem or run into similar? How did you fix it?

However once the deletion has taken place I want to be able to refresh the list to show that it has taken place, currently nothing happens, until I manually refresh.

  In an ASP.NET Web Site project, I've always been able to make changes to the underlying C# code and simply refresh the page in the browser and my changes would be there instantly. I can do the same thing when working with Java and Eclipse - edit my Java source and refresh the page and my changes are there. I cannot do this in ASP.NET MVC though and it is a real downer - I have to stop the running process and make my changes, and then restart debugging. This is a huge waste of time. Am I doing it wrong? What is the best approach to ASP.NET MVC development?

• Terminal Server Logging Software

  I have recently been trying to find software to monitor users' activities on our terminal server. After a quick search, I found http://www.softactivity.com/tsm.aspx. Has anyone ever heard of or used this program? I just want to make sure this company is legit and the software runs efficiently. The server I would be installing it on has about 40-50 users on it. I am hoping the software has some type of setting to only monitor certain users, because i would hate to waste resources. If this is not good software, does anyone have any recommendations?

• JQuery Passing Variable From href to load()

  I am trying to pass an href id to load() in JQuery, I can see from the alert the returned id# 960, so I know the id value is getting past I just don't know how to append the load url, well the $("#refreshme_"+add_id) is the important part, I use that to refresh the unique div id in the page assigned by the database pull, so it would be looking for id="refreshme_960". My simple example that is obviously not working. I want to refresh the db select part of the page showing the new list of cars. • Computer wont POST after power outage

  I had just turned my computer on and windows was loading when the power in my neighborhood went out. Normally, when I turn my computer on, the video card fan spins up, then slows down, POST and windows boots. Now, after the blackout, the video card fan spins fast and wont stop. Nothing is displayed on the monitor. The monitor does not detect that the video card is sending it signals, it just stays on standby. No POST or beep codes. This is what I have tried so far: My motherboard has 2 PCI express slots and I tried plugging the video card into both of them but that didn't fix anything. I have replaced the power supply, that didn't fix anything. I cleared the CMOS, that didn't fix anything. Does anyone have any idea of what could be wrong? Thanks!

• dell u2410 3dMark Benchmark distortion problems

  Ive been doing burn in testing for a new system I have put together and I am running into some video distortion problems with running the 3DMark benchmark tools (Both 06 and Vantage). The graphics will be fine, then sometimes during a test switch the screen will light up with thin horizontal ranibow lines (Something that looks very "glitchy") If i turn the monitor off and back on it clears up. All the tests "pass" and my system gets good marks but it concerns me if I might have problems with games (The screen returns to normal if I dont resest monitor and just let tests pass). I want to return a problem component now before its too late if it is something with the new hardware. Also, I am monitoring temp with thermal laser gun and the card itself is not going above 65c. Any ideas? System: Asrock x58 Xtreme - Last BIOS (1.80) EVGA Geforce GTX 285 w/ latest nvidia drivers (Connect via DVI1) Dell U2410(Set to 59hz refresh 1900x1202 -although I believe benchmarks run 1200x1024) Windows 7 Ultimate 64 12Gb DDR3 1600 RAM

• Creating a dynamic (video) Overlay on Google Maps on Android 2.1

  I'm trying to create a map overlay for displaying a video stream (MJPEG) on top of a Mapview. Currently I've a standalone activity that creates a data thread for fetching MJPEG video frames. I'm using a handler to send a frame (as a Bitmap) from the data thread to the main activity which then updates the UI. I'm not sure how I can implement "refresh" for updating my "overlayed" video stream. EDIT: What I mean by "refresh" is - how can I update the video portion (not the mapview) of my UI whenever I get a new video frame. I plan to paint the video frame (bitmap) in the "draw method" of my implementation of the Overlay subclass. But the "draw" method is not invoked by me directly. Thanks.

• C#: BackgroundWorker cloning resources?

  The problem I've been struggling with this partiular problem for two days now and just run out of ideas. A little... background: we have a WinForms app that needs to access a database, construct a list of related in-memory objects from that data, and then display on a DataGridView. Important point is that we first populate an app-wide cache (List), and then create a mirror of the cache local to the form on which the DGV lives (using List constructor param). Because fetching the data takes a good few seconds (DB sits on a LAN server) to load, we decided to use a BackgroundWorker, and only refresh the DGV once the data is loaded. However, it seems that doing the loading via a BGW results in some memory leak... or an error on my part. When loaded using a blocking method call, the app consumes about 30MB of RAM; with a BGW this jumps to 80MB! While it may not seem as much anyway, our clients are not too happy about it. • Monitoring IIS with SNMP

  Hello, I'm trying to monitor IIS using the Windows integrated SNMP service (for versions 2000, 2003 ans 2008 of Windows Server, but i'm doing my experiments on a 2008 R2 box). So far I was able to install the SNMP service, and query mib-2 values without problems. Now, I'm having trouble to monitor IIS informations, as the SNMP service does not seem to know about the .iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.microsoft.software.internetServer OIDs. Walking the entire SNMP tree only gets the mib-2 stuff as well as the names of some services, but that's it. I did't find anything interesting in the service configuration panel. So how do I configure this service to get IIS information, or other WMI data for that matter (I installed the SNMP WMI Provider) ? I can't find any documentation about that !

• UILabel background color not updating in UITableView

  I'm having a perplexing problem with a simple UILabel I put on a cell in a UITableView. I enter a separate view after tapping on a row, like many UITableViews. In there, I update the cell so that when I return to the rows, it should be updated, with this: MyTableViewCell* cell = (MyTableViewCell*) [mTableView cellForRowAtIndexPath: [NSIndexPath indexPathForRow:mActiveRow inSection:0]]; cell.myLabel.text = @"New Value"; // updated text cell.myLabel.backgroundColor = [UIColor greenColor]; // updated color When I return, though, only the text is updated, not the color. When I scroll the row off the screen and return it refreshes properly via another path of code that has exactly the same code. Could there be some trigger to refresh specifically the background color of the UILabel? I'm not sure why the text will refresh but the color won't.

• Integrated video card not detected after installing new video card

  Hi, I got this emachines ET1331G-03W with a built in integrated video card (GeForce 6150SE). I added another video card (e-GeForece 6200 LE) in the hopes that I utilize both and have a dual monitor. But once the additional card was installed, windows 7 does not recognize the integrated video. Is it possible to use both video cards and have a dual monitor setup? Is there a switch on the motherboard that I have to turn on or off to enable the integrated video card along with the new card. Thanks!

  I need to quit firefox and restart it in order for the applet to be refreshed... its anoying since i'm still programming it an the class files changes... am i missing some codes which makes it unable to refresh the applet and still take the one from the cache??? So I have a .jar applet in my website, a simulation game that spawns army whenever user clicks on the screen... however whenever I refresh the page, the previous army are still there on the screen.. I want it to be refreshed (as if we're just starting to run the application the first time). I already tried pressing CTRL+f5 but the trick doesn't seem to work I'd basically like to do it automatically using scripts or something, so that it won't require user to manually press some button on the keyboard Any Suggestions? • Firewalling gateways and IDS's

  Hi, For IDS, I plan to have a Win 2008 server running on the gateway with the majority of roles disabled. I plan to firewall the Internet connection, but I'd also like to install Snort to work as an IDS. However, I am guessing that regardless of the Snort install of the promiscuous Winpcap driver, I won't be able to monitor ports that the firewall blocks. My thinking is that chain of flow is: Internet-Firewall on Win 2008-Winpcap-Snort-internal network Is there a way to still monitor services that the firewall will block (i.e. TCP 445 SMB) ? Perhaps run the data through Snort and then through the firewall ? Thanks

• development and music recording machine suggestions?

  I wasn't sure if this belongs on SuperUser so flag if so. I am looking to build, primarily, a windows development machine that is also good for recording using Cubase. I know I should use seperate machines but I'm on a budget this time of year. I also havn't kept up with hardware for quite a few years. Basically I know I want quad core, multiple monitor support (no gaming requirements). A lot of RAM, very quiet case and super fast HDD (SSD OR 10,000RPM)for compiling and latency. I will store libraries and other data on a USB drive. Sound card is not needed as I will be using an audio interface, all other music recording equipment is taken care of also. I could do with some decent monitor recomendations also. All suggestions welcome, thanks.

  hello, i have an ASP webform with a JQuery Thickbox, i have an image that opens the thickbox when user click. once open the thickbox it shows me a grid with several rows and a button to select one and after the user select the record it returns to the main page the recordselected and cause a __doPostBack() BUT! sometimes in IE6 it stay loading the postback and never ends i have to refresh the page and when it refresh it shows everything fine. but i dont want the postback stay loading AND it does not happend always. i have to call a __doPostBack because i need to find info related to the selected record. thanks.

• log in to v20z console using serial management

  I have a Netra T1 (SPARC) which has LOM that enable to log in to the OS console locally for troubleshooting without plug in a monitor and keyboard. I also have a SunFire V20z (x86) which has a SP. However I do not find any equivalent command to reach the console. It would not be ideal for me to bring along monitor and keyboard to the data center for troubleshooting locally. For example, I accidentally messup the OS network configuration and unable to log in the OS. I have to log to the console through serial management/LOM to troubleshoot it. However it seem doesn't work in x86 machine. Is there anyway I can able to do the same thing on x86 machine?

• Flash player, HD videos and games are choppy

  I have a problem with flash player. HD videos from Youtube or Vimeo and flash games do not play smoothly. I'm using Flash player 11, Windows 7 Sp1, and my graphic card is Intel GMA 4500. Device Manager shows me that all drivers are installed on my computer, so i don't have any problems with drivers. When I run Google chrome, Resource Monitor shows me 15% ~ 40 % of CPU Usage and 40% used Physical Memory, but when I watch a video on Youtube or play a Flash game, the Resource Monitor shows 70% - 90% CPU Usage. Also, when I run some HD Video (Frame width : 1920, Frame height : 1080) on my computer, Device Manager shows me 80% ~ 100% of CPU Usage. before I Reinstall Windows 7, HD Videos and flash games were play smoothly I hadn't any problem with them !! I hope all these informations are enough to answer my question.

• My Mac is slow but don't know what's slowing it down

  My Mac (Macbook Pro) is sometimes slow doing basic tasks, like browsing the web or something like that. If I open Activity Monitor, I have (maybe) one program that is about 10 % CPU, others are below 1 %. My CPU usage is not full. I still have more than 2 GB of free memory (out of 5 GB). There is no heavy I/O activity like copying files. My open programs are Google Chrome (6 tabs, none of which are in some way (flash, many DOM objects, Javascript) have IMO, except maybe Gmail), Activity Monitor, Finder, Sublime Text 2 (text editor) and iTerm (terminal). What is causing the slowdown? "Slow" being: taking time to write these characters (I press the keyboard keys but there is a delay before I see them on the screen), changing tabs or programs, etc.

• Black stripe appears to the right of the screen, impossible to get rid of

  After clicking the "Auto Config" button on my Acer AL2216w screen a stripe appeared on the right of the screen where the screen doesn't "exist" and I can't seem to take the screen viewport back even by using the OCD setting and moving it to the right. The left part of the screen is also hidden and I'm not able to see what's going on there. The PC is connected to the screen through a DVI adapter and a VGA cable. I also use multiple monitors and this is the second monitor. Anyway this seems not to be a related issue, as this used to happen even when I only had a single monitor. I managed to fix this issue once but it was more than two years ago and I can't remember what I did, and out of all of the things I've tried so far (connecting the screen to another PC and performing auto adjustment, switching the cables, etc.) none worked. • Why cant I get 3 monitors working with my ati 5770

  I have an ati 5770, card with vga, dvi and hdmi output. I can only get 2 out of the 3 monitors working at once, however i can change the configuation so that all monitors can be selected, but only 2 will work at once.. 2 of my monitors have dvi inputs and one has vga. in my catyalist control center it shows all 3 monitors are there but either 2 can be selected at a time, and so the same with my windows 7. I have and adapter which i use on the 3rd monitor, hdmi-dvi adaptor and it works. also when i boot up my pc i get 2 monitors booting up and when windows starts the 3rd monitor boots but the 1st one closes. I looked at my package box and it actualy does specify ati eyefinity technology is available with this card. why wont it work???
