I'm interested in quering a Pervasive DB server running on a Windows platform from Linux.
Would anyone happen to know if this is possible, what's required and what resources there are for me to read up on it?
Thanks!
Is it possible to detect all the hotkeys registered by the OS as well as software applications currently running? Any native or managed approach on the Windows platform? I know that the RegisterHotKey function returns false if the hotkey is already registered, but what I am looking for is an approach, method, etc. that will give me a list of registered hotkeys. Looping all possible combinations with RegisterHotKey does not sound like a good idea. Anything more efficient?
Right now we are using Fastpath ODBC DSN connection method to access our "ARUNA" db.
Our development platform is .NET C#.
But we are in need of connecting the DB without using DSN. Till now my search in google is turning futile. In the meantime I think i will get my answer here quickly.
Is it possible to connect Aruna using DSN less method?
Thanks in advance guys.
Has anyone managed to develop Android Applications using Eclipse on the Windows platform. I understand the ADB needs to recognise specific models of phone and wondered if the Tattoo is supported.

Say I hahve created a GUI that operates with some data(text+image). How I can export that data in one of listed formates:
1).rtf
2).doc
3).docx
4)or at least .txt.
I guess it is better to export info .rtf as it is free cross-platform formt(??), isn't it?
This may be a dumb question...but I was just looking into the Mono project and they have a section about installing Mono on Windows. But, since Windows obviously already has the .NET runtime can anyone tell me what exactly is the point of having Mono for Windows? Does it help with cross platform development or something?
I've finished my poker game but now I want to make it look a bit better with displaying Spades, Hearts, Diamonds and Clubs. I tried this answer: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2094366/c-printing-ascii-heart-and-diamonds-with-platform-independent
But I couldn't make it work. I'm running on Windows.
Hi,
I have a Terabyte of data, maybe more, which I'd like to index and search with Lucene. I'd like to be able to split the index out to different machines, similar to what Solr does (if I understand Solr correctly).
Are there any existing tools to do this on the Windows platform?
Thanks!

Are there any C++ libraries similar to Ncurses, but for Windows? It seems there are no ports of Ncurses and I need a really good display system like it.
Any suggestions? Cross-platform is a plus.
Hello, I'm trying to port some old MSVC C++ code to MinGW/GCC.
One problem is that the project relies heavily on the /DELAYLOAD option for functions that aren't always used, and where the proper dll is located at runtime.
Is there such a similar option on MinGW/GCC?
This code is targeting the windows platform.
Looking for a large European developer/software conference, open-source-friendly, programming-language-neutral, platform-neutral, vendor-neutral. Any recommendations?
apparently there briefly used to be a Euro OSCON (2004-2006? what happened?)
some good language/app-specific ones like EuroPython, EuroSciPy, DjangoCon
European BarCamps seem kind of fragmented, esp. for an English-speaking audience
anything bigger or better? If there isn't anything, I wonder if O'Reilly would resurrect Euro OSCON.
I have been trying to make a Cross-platform 2D Online Game, and my maps are made of tiles.
My tileset, which I render the tiles from, is quite huge.
I wanted to know how can I disable hardware rendering, or at least making it more capable.
Hence, I wanted to know what are the basic limits of the video ram, as far as I know, Direct3D has a texture size limits (by that I don't mean the power-of-two texture sizes).
Hello All,

Can anybody help me out?
How do I write a std::codecvt facet? I'd like to write ones that go from UTF-16 to UTF-8, which go from UTF-16 to the systems current code page (windows, so CP_ACP), and to the system's OEM codepage (windows, so CP_OEM).
Cross-platform is preferred, but MSVC on Windows is fine too. Are there any kinds of tutorials or anything of that nature on how to correctly use this class?
Is it possible to convert floats from big to little endian? I have a value from a PowerPC(big endian)platform that I am send via TCP to a Windows process (little endian). This value is a float, but when I "memcpy" the value into a win32 float type and then call _byteswap_ulongon that value, I always get 0.0000?
What am I doing wrong?
Hello, can we create our own platform/objects and interact it with CSLA.NET, is this possible or not? Can somebody out there who has more experience in CSLA.NET can help or advice. Thank you

Thanks!
edit: I'm planning to implement this with .NET, but info about any platform would be incredibly useful.
