    Hi folks: some methods in our model pojos have been annotated like this: @Column(name="cli_clipping_id", updatable=false, columnDefinition = "varchar(" + ModelUtils.ID_LENGTH + ") COLLATE utf8_bin") columnDefinition attribute is database vendor dependant, so when trying to drop schema in HSQLDB using Hibernate it fails: [ERROR] 16 jun 12:58:42.480 PM main [org.hibernate.tool.hbm2ddl.SchemaExport] Unexpected token: COLLATE in statement [create table cms.edi_editorial_obj (edi_uuid varchar(23) COLLATE ] To fix this, i'm thinking on this solution (but don't want to spend time if it isn't possible) , at runtime, for each method column annotated: Get @Column annotation Create a copy of the column annotation, setting columnDefinition null using javaassist. set column method annotation to the copy column annotation object overriding the old one (i don't know it this is possible) Is it possible to "hack" these methods this way?     I'm attempting to use a Silverlight ComboBox with a static list of elements in a very simple binding scenario. The problem is the selected item is not returning me the Text of the TextBlock within the ComboBox and is instead returning "System.Windows.Controls.TextBlock". My XAML is: <ComboBox SelectedValue="{Binding Country, Mode=TwoWay, NotifyOnValidationError=True, ValidatesOnExceptions=True}"> <TextBlock FontSize="11" Text="Afghanistan" /> <TextBlock FontSize="11" Text="Albania" /> <TextBlock FontSize="11" Text="Algeria" /> </ComboBox> In my C# file I'm binding to the ComboBox using: Customer customer = new Customer() { Country = "Albania" }; DataContext = customer; The binding does not result in Albania as the selected country and updating the ComboBox choice results in the Country being set to "System.Windows.Controls.TextBlock". I've tried fiddling around with DisplayMemberPath and SelectedValuePath but haven't found the answer. I suspect it's something really simple I'm missing.

    I erroneously wrote this code in python: name = input("what is your name?") if name == "Kamran" or "Samaneh": print("That is a nice name") else: print("You have a boring name ;)") It always prints out "That is a nice name" even when the input is neither "Kamran" nor "Samaneh". Am I correct in saying that it considers "Samaneh" as a true? why? By the way, I already noticed my mistake. The correct form is: if name == "Kamran" or name == "Samaneh":

    I have a Location that can have Events. I want to have an upcoming_events method but want it to round down such that if someone looks at 10pm at night, it will show todays events. I have this: def upcoming_events d=Time.new d.strftime("%m-%d-%Y") l=Event.where('location_id=? and start_datetime>?',self.id, d) end I gets converted down correctly but in d.strftime but the query is: SELECT `events`.* FROM `events` WHERE (location_id=301 and start_datetime>'2012-06-20 02:49:23') Any idea how to just get it to do '2012-06-20'?

  • Reducing a normalized table to one value

    Hello, I'm sure this has been asked but I'm not quite sure how to properly search for this question, my apologies. I have two tables, Foo and Bar. For has one row per Food, bar has many rows per food matching descriptors. Foo name id Apple 1 Orange 2 Bar id description 1 Tasty 1 Ripe 2 Sweet etc (sorry for the somewhat contrived example). I'm trying to return a query where if, for each row in Foo, Bar contains a descriptor in ('Tasty', 'Juicy') return true ex: Output Apple True Orange False I had been solving this somewhat trivially with a case when I only had one item to match select Foo.name, case bar.description when 'Tasty' then True else 'False' end from Foo left join Bar on foo.id = bar.id where bar.description = 'Tasty' But with multiple items, I keep ending up with extra rows: Output Apple True Apple False etc etc Can someone point me in the right direction on how to think about this problem or what I should be doing?     If I have a multiValued field type of text, and I put values [cat,dog,green,blue] in it. Is there a way to tell when I execute a query against that field for dog, that it was in the 1st element position for that multiValued field? Assumption: client does not have any pre-knowledge of what the field type of the field being queried is. (i.e. Solr must provide the answer and the client can't post process the return doc to figure it out because it would not know how SOLR matched the query to the result). Disclosure: I posted to solr-user list and am getting no traction so I post here now.

    Hello, I'm trying to write a CSS parser to automatically dispatch URLs in background images to different subdomains in order to parallelize downloads. Basically, I want to replace things like url(/assets/some-background-image.png) with url(http://assets[increment].domain.com/assets/some-background-image.png) I'm using this inside a class that I eventually want to evolve into doing various CSS parsing tasks.     I have the following code: public bool ProcessData(String data) { try { result= CheckData(data); if (TextUtils.isEmpty(result)) { summary="Data is invalid"; return false; } ... finally { Period period = new Period(startTime, new LocalDateTime()); String duration = String.format("Duration: %s:%s", period.getMinutes(), period.getSeconds()); LogCat(duration); } return true; As I learned from this question, the finally block is executed after the return statement. So I modified my code according to that, and in the finally I inserted code that does not modify the output. Strangely, the code OUTSIDE the finally block does. My method always returns true. As suggested, it is not a good idea to have 2 return. What should I do?

    Line 3 of the code below fails if I omit the => $v portion. I get the following error: Warning: Illegal offset type in /home/site/page.php on line 404 When the [$k] in line 5 is changed to ['$k'], i receive the following error. Notice: Undefined index: $k in /home/site/page.php on line 404 When it is like below with the the full $k => $v everything works though. I don't even use $v.   • Jquery toggle event is messing with checkbox value

    Hi all, I'm using Jquery's toggle event to do some stuff when a user clicks a checkbox, like this: $('input#myId').toggle( function(){ //do stuff }, function(){ //do other stuff } ); The problem is that the checkbox isn't being ticked when I click on the checkbox. (All the stuff I've put into the toggle event is working properly.) I've tried the following: $('input#myId').attr('checked', 'checked'); and $(this).attr('checked', 'checked'); and even simply return true; But nothing is working. Can anyone tell me where I'm going wrong? Edit - thanks to all who replied. Dreas' answer very nearly worked for me, except for the part that checked the attribute.     I'm not too good with SQL and I know there's probably a much more efficient way to accomplish what I'm doing here, so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for your input! I'm writing a short program for the local school high school. At this school, juniors and seniors who have driver's licenses and cars can opt to drive to school rather than ride the bus. Each driver is assigned exactly one space, and their DLN is used as the primary key of the driver's table. Makes, models, and colors of cars are stored in a separate cars table, related to the drivers table by the License plate number field. My idea is to have a single search box on the main GUI of the program where the school secretary can type in who/what she's looking for and pull up a list of results. Thing is, she could be typing a license plate number, a car color, make, and model, someone driver's name, some student driver's DLN, or a space number. As the programmer, I don't know what exactly she's looking for, so a couple of options come to mind for me to build to be certain I check everywhere for a match: 1) preform a couple of SELECT * FROM [tablename] SQL statements, one per table and cram the results into arrays in my program, then search across the arrays one element at a time with regex, looking for a matched pattern similar to the search term, and if I find one, add the entire record that had a match in it to a results array to display on screen at the end of the search. 2) take whatever she's looking for into the program as a scaler and prepare multiple select statements around it, such as SELECT * FROM DRIVERS WHERE DLN = $Search_Variable SELECT * FROM DRIVERS WHERE First_Name = $Search_Variable SELECT * FROM CARS WHERE LICENSE = $Search_Variable and so on for each attribute of each table, sticking the results into a results array to show on screen when the search is done. Is there a cleaner way to go about this lookup without having to make her specify exactly what she's looking for? Possibly some kind of SQL statement I've never seen before?
