  Hi guys, I just finished participating in the 2009 ACM ICPC Programming Conest in the Latinamerican Finals. These questions were for Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, etc. My team and I could only finish two questions out of the eleven (not bad I think for the first try). Here's one we could finish. I'm curious to seeing any variations to the code. The question in full: ps: These questions can also be found on the official ICPC website available to everyone. In the land of ACM ruled a greeat king who became obsessed with order. The kingdom had a rectangular form, and the king divided the territory into a grid of small rectangular counties. Before dying the king distributed the counties among his sons. The king was unaware of the rivalries between his sons: The first heir hated the second but not the rest, the second hated the third but not the rest, and so on...Finally, the last heir hated the first heir, but not the other heirs. As soon as the king died, the strange rivaly among the King's sons sparked off a generalized war in the kingdom. Attacks only took place between pairs of adjacent counties (adjacent counties are those that share one vertical or horizontal border). A county X attacked an adjacent county Y whenever X hated Y. The attacked county was always conquered. All attacks where carried out simultanously and a set of simultanous attacks was called a battle. After a certain number of battles, the surviving sons made a truce and never battled again. For example if the king had three sons, named 0, 1 and 2, the figure below shows what happens in the first battle for a given initial land distribution: INPUT The input contains several test cases. The first line of a test case contains four integers, N, R, C and K. N - The number of heirs (2 <= N <= 100) R and C - The dimensions of the land. (2 <= R,C <= 100) K - Number of battles that are going to take place. (1 <= K <= 100) Heirs are identified by sequential integers starting from zero. Each of the next R lines contains C integers HeirIdentificationNumber (saying what heir owns this land) separated by single spaces. This is to layout the initial land. The last test case is a line separated by four zeroes separated by single spaces. (To exit the program so to speak) Output For each test case your program must print R lines with C integers each, separated by single spaces in the same format as the input, representing the land distribution after all battles. • How can i bundle other files when using cx_freeze?

  I'm using Python 2.6 and cx_Freeze 4.1.2 on a Windows system. I've created the setup.py to build my executable and everything works fine. When cx_Freeze runs it movies everything to the build directory. I have some other files that i would like included in my build directory. How can i do this? • Why does does my stack overflow error occur after 518669 specifically?

  I created a java program to count up toward infinity: class up { public static void up (int n) { System.out.println (n) ; up (n+1) ; } public static void main (String[] arg) { up (1) ; } } i didn't actually expect it to get there but the thing that i noticed that was a bit curious was that it stopped at the same number each time: 518669 what is the significance of this number? (or of this number +1 i suppose). (also as a bit of an aside question, I've been told that the way i format my code is bad [indentation and such] what am i doing that isn't desirable?)

  I got exception when I tried to delete one NSManageObject at the event of tableView:commitEditingStyle:forRowAtIndexPath:. Here is the part of my codes: - (void)tableView:(..)tableView commitEditingStyle:(..)editingStyle forRowAtIndexPath:(..)indexPath { if (editingStyle == UITableViewCellEditingStyleDelete) { [managedObjectContext deleteObject: [fetchedResultController objectAtIndexPath:indexPath]]; ... } } The exception was thrown at the line of deleteObject:(method of my local NSManagedObjectContext). This is the exception message: uncaught exception 'NSObjectInaccessibleException', reason: 'The NSManagedObject with ID:0x3d07a30 <x-coredata://0D2CC9CB-042B-496D-B3FE-5F1ED64EAB97/paymentType/p2> has been invalidated.' I tried to get entity object first and then to delete it. The entity looks OK but still the exception was at delete: NSManagedObject *entityToDelete = [fetchedResultsController objectAtIndexPath:indexPath]; [mangedObjectContext deleteObject:entityToDelete]; // Exception again. I am not sure if the entity object retrieved from the fetchedResultsController(NSFetchedResultsController type) cannot be deleted? If so, is there any other way to get the entity object for deleting? I found that in the Apple's Core Data Tutorial for iPhone with events example, there is on NSArray to hold event entity objects. I am not sure if that's necessory to use NSArray to hold my local entity objects and then use it for deleting?

The XML structure is as follows John Smith John Doe Johny Byrd I am using Ext.data.Store with proxyurl tot he xml, Ext.data.XML reader to rad the xml and a listener that bind the data to the Xtemplate. The xmlreader needs a root node to be specified and i have to give root name as "Student_Name" It need to bind it to one more store for "Faculty_Name" as the root node. SO i end up calling my service to get xml twice. Is there a way to call service once to get the xml and bind it to two stores with different root nodes.

• Can zlib.crc32 or zlib.adler32 be safely used to mask primary keys in URLs?

  In Django Design Patterns, the author recommends using zlib.crc32 to mask primary keys in URLs. After some quick testing, I noticed that crc32 produces negative integers about half the time, which seems undesirable for use in a URL. zlib.adler32 does not appear to produce negatives, but is described as "weaker" than CRC. Is this method (either CRC or Adler-32) safe for usage in a URL as an alternate to a primary key? (i.e. is it collision-safe?) Is the "weaker" Adler-32 a satisfactory alternative for this task? How the heck do you reverse this?! That is, how do you determine the original primary key from the checksum?

• IErrorHandler doesn't seem to be handling my errors in WCF .. any ideas?

  Have been readign around on IErrorHandler and want to go the config route. so, I have read the following in an attempt to implement it. MSDN Keyvan Nayyeri blog about the type defintion Rory Primrose Blog I have got it to compile and from the various errors i have fixed it seems like WCF is actually loading the error handler. My problem is that the exception that i am throwing to handle in the error handler doesn;t get the exception passed to it. My service implementation simply calls a method on another class that throws ArgumentOutOfRangeException - however this exception never gets handled by the handler. • How do I pass a callback function to sqlite3_exec on iOS 5.1?

  I am new to both xcode/iOS/Objective-C and sqlite. I am trying to teach myself the basics - and I would like to use the sqlite3 wrapper "sqlite3_exec" for a select query. For some reason, I can't find a simple example anywhere of someone doing this. Basically, the method has a parameter (the third one) for a callback function: int sqlite3_exec( sqlite3*, /* An open database */ const char *sql, /* SQL to be evaluated */ int (*callback)(void*,int,char**,char**), /* Callback function */ void *, /* 1st argument to callback */ char **errmsg /* Error msg written here */ ); That's fine. I'm no stranger to callbacks. However, I just can't seem to get the syntax down right. But, XCode doesn't like the "myCallback" usage at the bottom there. It says: Undeclared Use of Identifier 'myCallback.' That method is declared in the header file, and I've even tried making it static. Nothing seems to make this error go away. I know I must be doing something fundamentally wrong here, but for the life of me I can't figure out what - I can't even find other code samples in this area that could help me figure out what I'm missing.   I have a class that I need to provide the datatemplate for. Currently I have two datatemplates, one for when Enabled == true and one for when Enabled == false. However, now I want to also display an image overlay if the "Completed" property is true and a different image if it is incomplete. I could easily carry on using my approach to trigger on the Completed property as well but this would double the number of templates and feels wrong. Is there a way that I could have a trigger on my DataTemplate that will allow me to overlay the correct image over the existing template which is based on the Enabled property?

  In my application, I want to stream videos shot on an iPhone, *.movie files, from a server running on a Mac desktop to an iPhone or iPad client. What are some possible open source servers that do this that are small enough to be shipped or embedded with a downloadable Mac app? There is a product StreamToMe by Matt Gallagher that does this. I noticed a lot of open source alternatives like ffmpeg, VideoLan, and the like but I not sure which one would be good for the Mac.

  Win32 Virtual listviews (LVS_REPORT view) created with the LVS_OWNERDATA style are supposed not to scroll when LVSICF_NOSCROLL is used in the LVM_SETITEMCOUNT message or ListView_SetItemCountEx macro, according the MSDN documentation. However, this doesn't seem work, and the list-view scrolls regardless of the use of LVSICF_NOSCROLL. In these sorts of cases, 99% of the time it is something I have done incorrectly or overlooked. But, I've now run out of options. Have I missed something?
