  Hello, I am using Classic asp and SQL Server 2005. This is code that works (Provided by another member of Stack Overflow): sqlStr = "USE "&databaseNameRecordSet.Fields.Item("name")&";SELECT permission_name FROM fn_my_permissions(null, 'database')" This code checks what permissions I have on a given database - the problem being - if I dont have permission it throws an error and doesn't continue to draw the rest of my page. • No mic activity with setLoopBack set to false - AS3

  Trying to figure out why setloopback needs to be set to true for microphone activity to be detected. The problem is the echo feedback when using a macbook with a built in mic. If anyone has some ideas about this let me know. Right now I'm experimenting with toggling gain, depending on activity to simulate echo reduction. Not optimal though. @lessfame

• Can you force PayPal Payments Standard API to show credit card fields first?

  I'm using PayPal Website Payments Standard. Whenever the user lands on PayPal with the variables I sent, it shows a PayPal Login form and at the bottom it shows "Don't have a PayPal account? Use your credit card or bank account (where available)." I want it to default to always ask for credit card and maybe say "Have PayPal? Use that!". Any ideas?

It's easy to schedule automated check-in's into svn from a folder, but scheduling the export from SQL in SQL Management Studio is Right click target database, choose Tasks Generate Scripts. Follow the wizard and presto you've got scripts in a folder. Is it possible to extract a single script that the wizard generates, and stuff that into a stored proc which I can run nightly? Ideas?

  In Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7 there are new Events categorized under "Applications and Services Logs". There is also a subfolder called Microsoft which has tons of subfolders as well. Is there any way to collect these events through WMI? For the regular "Windows Logs" such as Application and Security, it is possible to use the Win32_NTLogEvent WMI class in the cimv2 namespace. However, this class does not provide access to the new Microsoft event logs. Any ideas?

  Hi all Is it possible, using spring security plugin 0.5.3 with Grails 1.2.1, to authenticate a user using only one field? I mean, for example, making j_username and j_password fields in the authentication form equal previous to the authentication. I read it was possible to define j_username field in Config.groovy with acegi plugin, in older versions of the plugin. Now it uses SecurityConfig.groovy but the possibility of defining the field exists no more. Any ideas?? Thanks a lot, Miguel

However, when I set the property for JMX Agent like -Dcom.sun.management.jmxremote.port=8010, the system produced an error "the file management.properties does not exist". It seems that the Java installed on this embedded linux system does not include the JMX service yet. Anyone has some ideas that how can I install JMX service on such system, please? Thanks

• Render public html for dynamic banners in Rails ?

  Hi, I would like to render specific HTML snippets for displaying banners, because each banner has a different nature (some images, some flash, etc). Every banner file is under app/public/banners/. I tried many ways, like: render :file => "/banners/somebanner.html" But it can't locate the file, because Rails looks under app/views. Any ideas ? Thanks!
