  I am trying to do an accumulator in IBasic for a college assignment and I have the general stuff down but I cannot get it to accumulate. The code is below. My question is how do I get it to accumulate and pass to the different module. I'm trying to calculate how many right answers the user gets. Also, i need to calculate the percentage of right answers. so if the user gets 9 out of 10 right theyed answer 90% right.   My project is structured as follows: DAL public IQueryable<Post> GetPosts() { var posts = from p in context.Post select p; return posts; } Service public IList<Post> GetPosts() { var posts = repository.GetPosts().ToList(); return posts; } //Returns a list of the latest feeds, restricted by the count. public IList<PostFeed> GetPostFeeds(int latestCount) { List<Post> post - GetPosts(); //CODE TO CREATE FEEDS HERE return feeds; } Lets say the GetPostFeeds(5) is supposed to return the 5 latest feeds. By going up the list, doesn't it pull down every single post from the database from GetPosts(), just to extract 5 from it? If each post is say 5kb from the database, and there is 1 million records. Wont that be 5GB of ram being used per call to GetPostFeeds()? Is this the way it happens? Should I go back to my DAL and write queries that return only what I need?

• Panning Image Using Javascript in ASP.Net Page Overflows Div

  I have an ASP.Net page that contains a <div> with an <img> tag within. The image is large so the <div> is set with a size of 500x500 pixels with overflow set to scroll. I'm attempting to add image panning using a click and drag on the image. However, every time I begin dragging the image escapes the boundary of the element and consumes the entire page. • Tail-recursive pow() algorithm with memoization?

  I'm looking for an algorithm to compute pow() that's tail-recursive and uses memoization to speed up repeated calculations. Performance isn't an issue; this is mostly an intellectual exercise - I spent a train ride coming up with all the different pow() implementations I could, but was unable to come up with one that I was happy with that had these two properties. My best shot was the following: def calc_tailrec_mem(base, exp, cache_line={}, acc=1, ctr=0): if exp == 0: return 1 elif exp == 1: return acc * base elif exp in cache_line: val = acc * cache_line[exp] cache_line[exp + ctr] = val return val else: cache_line[ctr] = acc return calc_tailrec_mem(base, exp-1, cache_line, acc * base, ctr + 1) It works, but it doesn't memorize the results of all calculations - only those with exponents 1..exp/2 and exp.

• UnicodeEncodeError when uploading files in Django admin

  Note: I asked this question on StackOverflow, but I realize this might be a more proper place to ask this kind of question. I'm trying to upload a file called 'Testaråäö.txt' via the Django admin app. I'm running Django 1.3.1 with Gunicorn 0.13.4 and Nginx 0.7.6.7 on a Debian 6 server. Database is PostgreSQL 8.4.9. Other Unicode data is saved to the database with no problem, so I guess the problem must be with the filesystem somehow. I've set http { charset utf-8; } in my nginx.conf. LC_ALL and LANG is set to 'sv_SE.UTF-8'. Running 'locale' verifies this. I even tried setting LC_ALL and LANG in my nginx init script just to make sure locale is set properly.   I think I might be overtired but I cannot for the life of me make sense of this, and I think it's due to a lack of knowledge of javascript var itv=function(){ return setInterval(function(){ sys.puts('interval'); }, 1000); } var tout=function(itv){ return setTimeout(function(){ sys.puts('timeout'); clearInterval(itv); }, 5500); } With these two functions I can call a=tout(itv()); and get a looping timer to run for 5.5 seconds and then exit, essentially.   I am trying to subclass the currently focused window on a Windows system using a global CBT hook. This is related to what happens in this question, but the bug is different. What happens when this subclassing is in effect, is that Opera's (version 10.50) main window is prevented from displaying. Opera has a "splash screen" where you are required to click "Start" for the main window to show that appears after Opera has not shut down properly. Whenever this window pops up, Opera's main window won't show. If Opera was shut down properly, and this splash screen does not show, the main window displays as it should. I imagine the following is happening: The window is created with it's own basic WndProc, and is given focus My application subclasses the window, storing the original WndProc Opera subclasses its own window When the window loses focus, I restore the original WndProc, thus ignoring the second WndProc Can this really be the case? Are there any other explanations?

  Hi I need to have a wrapper class that exposes some properties of my entity class called ProfileEntity. I tried doing it by deriving from this entity and then creating properties that return specific entity properties, but it says I cannot cast from ProfileEntity to ProfileEntityWrapper. When I try to put the return values of a method that returns a 'ProfileEntity' into the wrapper I get the above error. How do I create such a wrapper class that is castable?   I have a Django app that gets it's data completely from an external source (queried via HTTP). That is, I don't have the option for a local database. Session data is stored in the cache (on my development server I use a SQLite database, so that is no error source). I'm using bleeding edge Django 1.1svn. Enter the problem: I want to use Django's own authentication system for the users. It seems quite simple to write my own Authentication Backend, but always just under the condition that you have a local database where to save the users. Without database my main problem is persistence.   Greetings. I am doing Problem 7 from Project Euler. What I am supposed to do is calculate the 10001st prime number. (A prime number being a number that is only divisible by itself and one.) Let's say if user choose file, image should be null, and vice verso. Right now I can only upload both of them, without error.
