  • Now with GWT2, what are the advantages over wicket and likewise?

    - by Antony Stubbs
Apart from the argument of wicket's simplicity (that is, wicket is a simpler system IMHO) and GWT's responsiveness in the client (GWT's client side state and javascript - potentially complex client side code) and GWT's greater potential for scaling, what is the argument for using GWT over wicket? Personally I've done a lot of wicket development, but have only had a quick look at GWT a long time ago.

  • custom compare method in objective c

    - by Jonathan
I'm trying to use a custom compare method (for use with sortedArrayusingSelector) and on another website I got that the format is: -(NSComparisonResult) orderByName:(id)otherobject { That's all bery well and good except how do I compare the otherObject to anything as there's only one thing passed to the method? Like how does the NSString method of compare: compare 2 strings when only one string is passed?

  • Draw Lines Over a Circle

    - by VOX
There's a line A-B and C at the center between A and B. It forms a circle as in the figure. If we assume A-B line as a diameter of the circle and then C is it's center. My problem is I have no idea how to draw another three lines (in blue) each 45 degree away from AC or AB. No, this is not a homework, it's part of my complex geometry in a rendering. http://www.freeimagehosting.net/image.php?befcd84d8c.png

  • Problem with upper-case and lower-case xpath functions in selenium IDE

    - by Aristotelis
Hi, I am trying to get a xpath query using the xpath function lower-case or uppper-case, but they seem to not work in selenium (where I test my xpath before I apply it). Example that does NOT work: //*[.=upper-case('some text')] I have no problem locating the nodes I need in complex path and even using aggregated functions, as long as I don't use the upper and lower case. Has anyone encountered this before? Does it make sense? Thanks.

  • How do I replace outbound link URLs in a PDF document, using PHP

    - by Alex Poole
I have a PDF document with some external links. I'd like to parse the document, replace the destination of the links then close (and serve) the PDF document, all using PHP I know I can do this with PDFLib but I don't want to incur this cost. I could re-write the document with FPDF or DomPDF, but some of these PDFs are quite complex so this would be a major time investment. Surely there must be a way to do this directly to PDF docs, using native PHP? TIA

  • Will GTK's pango and cairo work well in Coca and MFC applications.

    - by Lothar
I'm writing a GUI program and decided to go native on all platforms. But for all the stuff i need to draw myself i would like to use the same drawing routines because font and unicode handling is so difficult and complex. Do you see any negative points in useing Pango/Cairo. Well on MacOSX i havent succeded installing Pango/Cairo yet. Looks like a bad Omen.

  • Python: Cannot concatenate str and NoneType objects

    - by Chase Higgins
    sql = """ INSERT INTO [SCHOOLINFO] VALUES( '""" + self.accountNo + """', '""" + self.altName + """', '""" + self.address1 + """', '""" + self.address2 + """', '""" + self.city + """', '""" + self.state + """', '""" + self.zipCode + """', '""" + self.phone1 + """', '""" + self.phone2 + """', '""" + self.fax + """', '""" + self.contactName + """', '""" + self.contactEmail + """', '""" + self.prize_id + """', '""" + self.shipping + """', '""" + self.chairTempPass + """', '""" + self.studentCount + """' ) """; I have the following code and Python keeps throwing the error that it cannon concatenate strings and nonetype objects. The thing is I have verified every variable here is in fact a string and is not null. I have been stuck on this for quite some time today, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Best free flowchart software?

    - by Click Upvote
I need to map out a complex algorithm with lots of conditional options. Need an easy to use flowchart software, preferably free since I need it for just a one time use. Would prefer something lightweight which doesn't eat up all the CPU memory. Any ideas?

  • Kohana 3 ORM - grouping where conditions with parentheses

    - by Greelmo
I'm trying to run a query through the ORM like this: SELECT * from table where (fname like 'string%' or lname like 'string%') AND (fname like 'string2%' or lname like 'string2%'); Here's what i have so far: $results = ORM::factory('profiles'); foreach ($strings as $string) { $result->where('fname', 'like', "$string%"); $result->or_where('lname', 'like', "$string%"); } But this doesn't account for the parentheses. Any ideas?

  • How to debug Sharepoint solution/feature through Visual studio ?

    - by pointlesspolitics
Recently I tried to install a webpart through wspbuilder utility to the Sharepoint Site. I have created, built and deployed a project to the 12 hive. After that installed the solution through Cental Administration Site and activated in the site collection. I just wonder how can I debug the complex feature/solution ? Because both processes (build-deploy and activate) totally independent, how can I attach a process with the worker process ?

  • WinForms/Console application on Mono, how to know it runs as root

    - by Lex Li-MSFT
As we can execute such executables in two ways, such as "sudo mono test.exe", and "mono test.exe". Now I want to know how to detect whether this application is running as root inside the application itself. I tried to check user name like below and see whether they equal to "root", Thread.CurrentPrincipal.Identity.Name Process.GetCurrentProcess().StartInfo.UserName AppDomain.CurrentDomain.ApplicationIdentity.FullName The first two are empty strings always, while the third throws NullReferenceException. Please advise if this is doable on Mono 2.6.

  • How to test if a gawk string contain a number?

    - by Tim Menzies
In gawk I know two ways to test if a string contains a number. Which is best? Method one: using regular expressions: function method1(x) { return x ~ /^[+-]?([0-9]+[.]?[0-9]*|[.][0-9]+)([eE][+-]?[0-9]+)?$/ } Method two: the coercion trick (simpler): function method2(x) { return (x != "") && (x+0 == x) } Is there any reason to favor the more complex method1 over the simpler method2?

  • F# Tacit Programming. Please help)

    - by Bubba88
It's not a practically important issue, but could you please provide me with an example of tacit programming in F# where my `pointless' functions can have multiple arguments (not in form of list or tuple); And secondly, where those functions can manipulate a complex data structure. I'm trying to manage it in FSharp interactive, but have no success yet. Huh.. I've managed to construct something: (fun _ - (fun _ - (+))) 333 222 111 555 Is that right way?

  • Storing Requested URL in Global.asax without Session State in ASP.NET

    - by Mark Richman
I have a complex URL rewriting scheme which breaks the built in Forms Authentication ReturnUrl mechanism. I would like to grab the requested URL for later redirection away from my login.aspx. I can get this URL in Application_BeginRequest via HttpContext.Current.Request.AppRelativeCurrentExecutionFilePath. However, Session state is not available in Application_BeginRequest. How can I store this URL prior to ASP.NET redirecting me to login.aspx?

  • Regular expression for bounce email message

    - by Ryan
I am looking for a regular expression (or other method if there is such a thing) for detecting bounce email messages. So far I have been going through our unattended mail box and adding strings that I find into a regex. I figured someone would have something that is already complete rather than me re-inventing the wheel. Here is an example of what I have so far: /reason: 550|permanent fatal errors|Error 550|Action: Failed|Mailbox does not exist|Delivery to the following recipients failed/i

  • Can anyone explain me the source code of python "import this"?

    - by byterussian
If you open a Python interpreter, and type "import this", as you know, it prints: The Zen of Python, by Tim Peters Beautiful is better than ugly. Explicit is better than implicit. Simple is better than complex. Complex is better than complicated. Flat is better than nested. Sparse is better than dense. Readability counts. Special cases aren't special enough to break the rules. Although practicality beats purity. Errors should never pass silently. Unless explicitly silenced. In the face of ambiguity, refuse the temptation to guess. There should be one-- and preferably only one --obvious way to do it. Although that way may not be obvious at first unless you're Dutch. Now is better than never. Although never is often better than *right* now. If the implementation is hard to explain, it's a bad idea. If the implementation is easy to explain, it may be a good idea. Namespaces are one honking great idea -- let's do more of those! In the python source(Lib/this.py) this text is generated by a curios piece of code: s = """Gur Mra bs Clguba, ol Gvz Crgref Ornhgvshy vf orggre guna htyl. Rkcyvpvg vf orggre guna vzcyvpvg.
