• asp.net mvc - limit access to web pages

  Greetings, in my asp.net mvc application what i would like to do is to enable access to some pages only after user was successfully authorized. I have already created custom membership provider and that works fine. How can I, in web config create such rule - for instance for all pages in ~Admin/ folder? I don't want to create on every controller's action the validation code. For now i have in my web.config the following statement: <location path="~/Admin"> <system.web> <authorization> <deny users="?"/> </authorization> </system.web> but it doesn't work.

• Editing PHP using PHP (admin center)

  Hello, Am developing an admin center where I can edit configuration files (written in PHP). I do NOT want to store these values in a mySQL table (for various reasons). So say my config.php has contents like: <?php $option1 = 1; $option2 = 2; $option4 = 5; $option7 = array('test','a','b',c'); ?> Now say in one of the admin pages I will only be changing a few values like option2 or option4 etc. Any ideas on what would be the best way to go about this. I know one option is to read the PHP file completely and write parts of it using REGEX. Any way to make this more efficent? I don't want the config.php file to break because of some error on the user's end. Any ideas on how to ensure that it works?

  Here's a simple question I've been stuck on for a while. When I set < identity impersonate=true > in my web.config so that asp.net impersonates the logged on user automatically (or the anonymous account if not using Windows Authentication), where does the identity that asp.net impersonates come from? This document: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff649264.aspx shows three places you can retrieve information about the logged on user: Httpcontext.Current.user System.Threading.Thread.Current System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent It seems that none of these locations consistently match the identity that gets impersonated when I set < identity impersonate=true > in web.config. I would like to know where the impersonated identity comes from.

• Problems deploying Sinatra app to staging environment

  I have a small Sinatra app with both a staging and production environment on a single server with running Nginx. To deploy I am using Capistrano and capistrano-ext to easily deploy to different locations. The problem that the staging environment always runs with the production configuration specified within the app.rb file. configure :staging do # staging settings set :foo, "bar" end configure :production do # prod settings set :foo, "rab" end I have come to the conclusion that the capistrano :environment variable within the deploy.rb file doesn't config Sinatra in any way. I have also tried setting the ENV["RACK_ENV"] to "staging" to no avail. config/deploy/staging.rb server "10.10.100.16", :app, :web, :db, :primary => true set :deploy_to, "/var/www/staging.my_app" set :environment, "staging" set :env, "staging" ENV["RACK_ENV"] = "staging" Any ideas?

  I use doubles for a uniform implementation of some arithmetic calculations. These calculations may be actually applied to integers too, but there are no C++-like templates in Java and I don't want to duplicate the implementation code, so I simply use "double" version for ints. Does JVM spec guarantees the correctness of integer operations such a <=,=, +, -, *, and / (in case of remainder==0) when the operations are emulated as corresponding floating point ops? (Any integer, of course, has reasonable size to be represented in double's mantissa)

• HTML5: Can an SQlite database be specified in a manifest's Cache section?

  I'd like to be able to specify an SQLite database as a resource in the CACHE section of a manifest file. This would allow the script on the page to use the database in offline mode. I cannot find anything in the HTML5 spec that says this cannot be done, but I haven't had any success in getting it working either. Is it possible?

In the config file I have the prefix defined as such: $config['subclass_prefix'] = 'DD_'; Any idea of what I'm missing? TIA

  I'm trying to mock a class method with rspec: lib/db.rb class Db def self.list(options) Db::Payload.list(options) end end lib/db/payload.rb class Db::Payload def self.list(options={}) end end In my spec, I'm trying to setup the expectation Db::Payload.list will be called when I call Db.list: describe Db do before(:each) do @options = {} Db::Payload.should_receive(:list).with(@options) end it 'should build the LIST payload' do Db.list(@options) end end The problem is that I am always receiving the following error: undefined method `should_receive' for Db::Payload:Class Any help understanding this error would be most appreciated :-)

• Best way to utilise an include file which just includes an array in PHP

  Kohana's config files look like this.. here is an example of a database config file (simplified) return array( 'dbhost' => 'localhost', 'user' => 'Tom_Jones' ); I've also got a CMS which wants the connection details. Whilst the CMS uses a different user (with more rights), I'd like to know the best way to include this file and get the data out of it (so as to not repeat myself for hostname and dbname). I haven't thought up of any elegant solutions yet and have not yet dug around Kohana to see how it does it. It's late Friday here so it's probably really obvious to everyone except me. UPDATE My apologies, I forgot to include that this is using Kohana 3!

• II7 integrated mode MVC deploy 404 not found on "non-Index" actions

  Hello. Once deployed parts of my web-application stop working. Index-es on each controller do work, other then that yields 404. I understand that nothing particular should be done in integrated mode. I don't know how to proceed with troubleshooting. Some info: App is using default app pool set to integrated mode. WebApp is done in net framework 3.5. I use default routing model. Along web.config in root there is web.config in /View folder referencing HttpNotFoundHandler. OS is Windows Server 2008.   I need to get the pageYOffset of the bottom of the viewable area, whether the user is zoomed in on the webpage or not, on Mobile Safari ( iPhone ). However pageYOffset returns the offset from the upper left corner of the window. Spec: "pageYOffset properties returns the pixels the current document has been scrolled from the upper left corner of the window" How do you get the page y offset from the bottom of the viewable area, (zoomed in or not) on the iPhone via Javascript?

I'm using cygwin and when this line is commented out the printf's ABOVE this print to console but when include this, nothing happens. I did the following to get cygserver going- CYGWIN=server ran /bin/cygserver-config ran /usr/sbin/cygserver for the config it said the cygserver is already running And for the sygserver it saids- initailaizing complete failed to created named pipe: is the daemon already running? fatal error on IPC transport: closing down Any ideas?

Weeks ago, Rspec used to migrate the database to the last version automatically when executing 'rake spec', but now it doesn't do it automatically, I have to implement everything for myself. • hide XML element from appearing in browser

  HI, I have a website which I am setting up. However, I want the first page (Home) not to have any sub menu. When I change the value of true to false all the other pages where I want the drop down to appear also disappear. I want other pages to have sub menu but not the home page. I have tried to change the xml path etc, but nothing seems to work. Can somebody please advise on this. I am new to xml and finding this very challenging. I have uploaded the config.xml and the layout xml's.   I want Nginx to deny access to a specific PHP file, let's call it donotexposeme.php, but it doesn't seem to work, the PHP script is run as usual.   i just installed MAMP on this iMac and the rubygems but when i run: sudo gem install mysql — –with-mysql-config=/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysql_config gives me Building native extensions.   Hi, I just started using GIT for my versioning and I want to program some tools that work on top of it. Here is my question: Which information in the .git/config is shared to a remote repo? Is any? Is there a special way to push information to that repo? The reason I am asking is that I would like to add a "unique stamp" to the config of a repo. Also the remote repo and everybody pulling that project should have the stamp. Is that possible? If not, is there any other way to identify a repository? Having a .git folder, I want to decide whether this git repo is the same as a previously specified remote repo (the same means created by pulling the remote repo, changes are okay, of course).

• Monitor multiple variable amounts of processes' start and exit

  I need some code to monitor the start and exit of processes. For example, assume I have a config file with 3 processe names, lets say, foo.exe, bar.exe and abc.exe. How I imagine this be done would be to create 3 threads and somehow listen to each process individually with a timer in each thread, and then do something afterwards. However, I would need to dynamically create threads and timers, as the config file is meant to be modifiable. I can work with VB.NET or C# Code. Thanks.
