    hi all, I am trying to install ruby on rails in my own intranet, I don't have an internet connection. There are several tutorials out there that try to explain how to do so, but they don't seem to work. Does anyone know of a full installation (including ruby, rails, IDE) that doesn't demand downloading files from the internet? Thanks alot!

  • How do I find out the expiry date of a SQL Server 2008 trial-install instance?

    So I installed a trial of SQL Server 2008 enterprise edition while waiting for MSDN licenses to come through - I now want to uninstall the trial and replace it with a developer edition installation. However, I'd like to first know how long I have left on the trial. Is there a way to do this programmatically with SQL? I looked at create_date in sys.databases, but these give dates that are in 2003 (which is, I guess, when master and model were originally created).

  • Windows repair console, imposible?

    Hi guys, I found an old Windows XP SP2 in my -trash- cd can and tryed it on a 30 gb FAT32 partition. Installation went fine till the copying operation was completed and XP asked for reboot. After that either it starts over again or throws invalid disk. Starting over is an infinite loop the only way I see is to choose the "Repair console" but i'm not used to a dos box. Can anyone help me through this harmful instalation? Cheers, Daniel

    I installed Cocoa Browser Air at home from the same installation file (for 2.4.1) that works fine at work. Its info for Mac OS X 10.6 looks OK, but there's nothing under either iPhone 3.1 or 3.2. I've installed the appropriate Documentation Sets in Xcode Preferences-Documentation, and I have an iPhone SDK, which is required to refer to iPhone DocSets. I'm using the Xcode version 3.2.2.   • drag drop no longer working once application gets installed.

    I have an application that has drag and drop functionality to import images and video's. While developing, and testing through Visual Studio this has never given any problems. After installing through a set up project, everything in the application works fine, except the drag and drop, which seems to be doing nothing. Are there any security settings that need to be set through an installer, or something of that nature that could be preventing drag and drop after installation ?

    I've got an old Cisco 3500 XL, and it seems to have hardware issues. I've loaded the latest IOS and cleared all config. Does anyone have any experience fixing the switch core? I'm a reasonably competent SMD solderer, can I replace/reflow some chips? I've checked the power supply voltages and it's all within tolerance, and no visible signs of any component damage. Some chips are hot to the touch. I understand that these were EOL as of 2007, but should have a lifetime warranty for the electronics. I don't have a Cisco support contract, so I can't file a ticket. What should I do?   • Problem installing PyQt4 on Windows 7

    I have a problem installing PyQt4. I have Windows 7 with Python 3.1.2 installed. When I execute the PyQt-Py3.1-gpl-4.7.3-2.exe it shows the warning: This copy of PyQt has been built against Python v3.1 which doesn't seem to be installed. Do you wish to continue with the installation? Why the installer can't see my python installtion???, I set the PYTHONHOME env variable and added python to the PATH variable but is always the same warn. I don't know if the last .2 in my python's version is the problem. If I ignore the warning and install the PyQt, when I try to run the Examples and Demos from the All Programs menu it doesn't show anything. Im new to python and Qt, I don't know how to debug or something to solve this problem =S

    I have a Copy Hook Handler shell extension that I'm trying to install on Windows 7 64-bit. The shell extension DLL is compiled in two separate versions for 32-bit and 64-bit Windows. The DLL implements DLLRegisterServer which adds the necessary registry entries. After adding the registry entries, it calls the following line of code to nofity the Windows shell: SHChangeNotify(SHCNE_ASSOCCHANGED, SHCNF_IDLIST, NULL, NULL); Everything works great on Windows7 32-bit. The shell recognizes the extension immediately. On 64-bit, the shell extension is only recognized after the shell is restarted. Is there anything I can do to cause the extension to be recognized without restarting the 64-bit shell?

    Hello folks, I am trying to install Flex 3 on my Windows 7 Virtual machine (parallels desktop) on my Mac Pro. The problem seems to be some sort of conflict between the copy of Flex 3 Builder installed on Mac OS X. The installer tries to install Flex in x:/Program Files/Adobe/Flex Builder 3/ but since Parallels Desktop connects all directories, there resides the Flex Builder 3 installation of MAC.   • HttpClient automatically retires before the response is received from server

    Hi all, I'm come upon a wierd problem with java HttpClient library. Specifically the library automatically retries my request (POST requests) even before the response is received from the server. Moreover the weirder problem is that this only happens on specific hosts (machines). So the end result is if a post request succeeds, then there may be an exact same post request coming to the server which the server can't handle. Now, I do want the retry behavior, but it should behave intuitively. Anyone faced this kind of problem before, or is there a way to configure http client to wait for a specific time before retrying. I'm not sure what going wrong here.

I tried folowing the installation guide from guides.rails.info, I installed sudo gem install rake rack-test rack-mount erubis mail sudo gem install tzinfo builder i18n memcache-client sudo gem install text-format thor And rails 3 via sudo gem install rails --pre Now I create a new app rails abc And try rake db:create Which fails with Could not find gem 'sqlite3-ruby (>= 0, runtime)' in any of the sources. So I try installing sqlite3-ruby sudo gem install sqlite3-ruby Which fails with Could not create Makefile due to some reason, probably lack of necessary libraries and/or headers. Check the mkmf.log file for more details. You may need configuration options. So I install it via apt-get sudo aptitude install libsqlite3-ruby1.8. And still get same error on rake db:create.
