  • git pull not working

    I am not using github. We have git setup on our machine. I created a branch from master called experiment. However when I am trying to do git pull I am getting following message. > git pull You asked me to pull without telling me which branch you want to merge with, and 'branch.experiment.merge' in your configuration file does not tell me either. Please specify which branch you want to merge on the command line and try again (e.g. 'git pull <repository> <refspec>'). See git-pull(1) for details. Here is result of git remote show origin > git remote show origin * remote origin Fetch URL: ssh://git.domain.com/var/git/app.git Push URL: ssh://git.domain.com/var/git/app.git HEAD branch: master Remote branches: experiment tracked master tracked Local branches configured for 'git pull': master merges with remote master Local refs configured for 'git push': experiment pushes to experiment (local out of date) master pushes to master (up to date) As I read the message above experiment is mapped to origin/experiment. And my local repository knows that it is out of date. Then why I am not able to do git pull?

    I am having a bit of trouble with a select into insert across a dblink in oracle 10. I am using the following statement: INSERT INTO LOCAL.TABLE_1 ( COL1, COL2) SELECT COL1, COL2 FROM REMOTE.TABLE1@dblink s WHERE COL1 IN ( SELECT COL1 FROM WORKING_TABLE) When I run the statement the following is what gets run against the remote server on the DB Link: SELECT /*+ OPAQUE_TRANSFORM */ "COL1", "COL2" FROM "REMOTE"."TABLE1" "S" If I run the select only and do not do the insert into the following is run: SELECT /*+ */ "A1"."COL1" , "A1"."COL2" FROM "REMOTE"."TABLE1" "A1" WHERE "A1"."COL1" = ANY ( SELECT "A2"."COL1" FROM "LOCAL"."TABLE1"@! "A2") The issue is in the insert case the enitre table is being pulled across the dblink and then limited localy which takes a fair bit of time given the table size. Is there any reason adding the insert would change the behavior in this manner?

  • Importing already existing git repo with multiple branches and tags into gerrit

    I'm trying to import an already existing git repository with multiple branches and tags into gerrit. I'm following the official guide at https://gerrit-review.googlesource.com/Documentation/install-quick.html#_already_existing_project. However, when issuing the push command all the branches and tags, except "master" which I'm currently in, are "prohibited by Gerrit". The output is something like this: user@host:~/my-project$ git push ssh://user@localhost:29418/demo-project *:* [....] * [new branch] master -> master ! [remote rejected] origin/Branch1 -> origin/Branch1 (prohibited by Gerrit) ! [remote rejected] origin/Branch2 -> origin/Branch2 (prohibited by Gerrit) [....] ! [remote rejected] Tag1 -> Tag1 (prohibited by Gerrit) ! [remote rejected] Tag2 -> Tag2 (prohibited by Gerrit) [....] I'm administrator so it shouldn't be an access rights issue.

  • Installing Ruby Gems behind a Proxy

    It appears this topic has been covered a few times before, but those solutions have only gotten me so far. I now have my sources properly updated and I am able to query for gems without an error but I keep getting empty results for my searches. I installed rubysspi and copied over the spa.rb file as mentioned in the readme. The readme also suggested using this line which did not work for me based on my install path: ruby -rspa 'C:\Program Files\ruby\gem' list --remote sspi So I switched it to my install directory off the root: ruby -rspa 'C:\ruby\gem' list --remote sspi But that also didn't work so a search for the gem file located it in the bin directory so this command finally worked for me: ruby -rspa 'C:\ruby\bin\gem' list --remote sspi But I got empty results back: *** REMOTE GEMS *** SO I tried other gems and had the same results. Then I listed my gem sources and rubygems is listed as expected. Am I missing something else? c:\ruby>gem sources *** CURRENT SOURCES *** http://rubygems.org

    Hello! I am learning Qooxdoo framework and I am trying to make it work with a small Django web service. Django webservice just returns JSON data like this: { "name": "Football", "description": "The most popular sport." } Then I use the following code to query that url: var req = new qx.io.remote.Request(url, "GET", "application/json"); req.toggleCrossDomain(); req.addListener("completed", function(e) { alert(e.getContent()); }); req.send(); Unfortunately when I execute the code I get unexpected token error and then request timeouts.     I'd like that all the output that is shown in Tomcat's console will be saved into a file including the output on startup and shutdown of Tomcat. How can I do this? I looked at apache documentation about logging, Do I need to change something in the logging.properties can I trust log4j to write message from the first message on startup to the last message on shutdown?

  • IE won't start session from an iframe?..

    The task was to bypass login form on remote server with a session_id acquired through a call to server's web API. So that user wouldn't have to login twice. Since there's no way to set cookies for different domain. What we came up to was - put a little file on remote server, to which we pass encrypted session_id from hidden iframe and which is supposed to start a proper session for a remote app, which is then loaded in another iframe. This approach works fine in FF/Chrome, but not IE... However if I copy url to self-made remote authorization script from iframe's src attribute to to IE's address bar and load it from there, session get's created as expected. But for some reason it just doesn't want to do the same from an iframe. Does anyone have any clue, why this is happening?

  • Git repository gets corrupted when I do a large commit: "Possible repository corruption on the remot

    Hi All, A friend of mine and I have been trying to use git for a project. It is hosted on his server, and I git clone it as: git clone [email protected]:/path/to/git/repos.git Pretty standard stuff, and it works great for a while. But every time one of us has added a large commit (which git supposedly handles very well), of the order of 100MB or so, the git repository gets kind of broken. Basically, at this point I will be able to push new changes and pull other changes (I think), but when I try to clone the repository in a fresh location using that command above, I get an error message that says: $git clone [email protected]:/path/to/git/repos.git Initialized empty Git repository in /local/path/to/repos/.git/ remote: Counting objects: 1455, done. remote: Compressing objects: 100% (1235/1235), done. error: git upload-pack: git-pack-objects died with error.s fatal: git upload-pack: aborting due to possible repository corruption on the remote side. remote: aborting due to possible repository corruption on the remote side. fatal: early EOF fatal: index-pack failed This has happened 3 or 4 times now, and it's always when I add a large commit. Any idea why this is happening? How can we fix it? We're both using Mac OSX Snow Leopard. Thanks! -M

  • jQuery bind efficiency

    I'm having issue with load speed using multiple jQuery binds on a couple thousands elements and inputs, is there a more efficient way of doing this? The site has the ability to switch between product lists via ajax calls, the page cannot refresh. Some lists have 10 items, some 100, some over 2000. The issue of speed arises when I start flipping between the lists; each time the 2000+ item list is loaded the system drags for about 10 seconds. Before I rebuild the list I am setting the target element's html to '', and unbinding the two bindings below. I'm sure it has something to do with all the parent, next, and child calls I am doing in the callbacks.     Hi, I have a stateless session bean and a standalone-java-program acting as a client. The bean method executes just fine when the interface is marked @Remote. However,when I mark that interface with @Local instead of @Remote, I get the following Exception. [java] javax.naming.NamingException: Could not dereference object [Root exception is java.lang.RuntimeException: Could not find InvokerLocator URL at JNDIaddress "chapter1/HelloUserBean/local"; looking up local Proxy from Remote JVM?] But I expected even the latter to work, since it is the same computer that the code executes in. Seeing this behavior, I am assuming that, the Application-Server and the Standalone-Java-Program use different JVM instances and not a single JVM instance and so this client can access only through a remote interface. Is that assumption correct ? Thanks !

  • Session variables not getting set but only in Internet Explorer and not on all machines

    Logging into a site I'm working on functions as expected on my local machine but fails on the remote server but ONLY in Internet Explorer. The kicker is that it works in IE locally, just not on the remote machine. What in the world could cause this? I have stepped through the code on the remote machine and can see the entered login values being checked in the database, they are found and then a login function is called. This sets two $_SESSION variables and redirects to the main admin page. However, in IE only (and not when run on local machine... this is key) the $_SESSION variables are not present by the time you get to the main admin page. var_dump($_SESSION) gives me what I expect on every browser when I am running this in my local environment and in every browser except IE 6, 7 and 8 when run on the remote server (where I get a null value as if nothing has been set for $_SESSION). This really has me stumped so any advice is appreciated. For an example... in IE, run locally, var_dump gives me: array 'Username' => string 'theusername' length=11 'UserID' => string 'somevalue' length=9 Run on the remote server (IE only... works fine in other browsers) var_dump gives me: array(0){} Code: $User = GetUser($Username, $Password); if ($User->UserID <> "") { // this works so we call Login()... However, random and _method (both needed for IE issues) do not get set. Logging settings inside ajaxSend shows me that they are set to settings.data: "remote=1&authenticity_token=6GA9R_snip_253D&random=1270584905846&_method=get" but when it gets sent across the wire, I only have the following: authenticity_token 6GA9R_snip_253D remote 1 Why in the world is this not working?

    In an Android app, I am using one static instance of org.apache.http.impl.client.DefaultHttpClient and sharing that instance in all activities and services of the app, so that this client may be used to log in once to a remote server and all subsequent user requests to that remote server will remain authenticated. Every activity or Service that makes a GET or POST to this remote server calls the same method : MyUtilityClass.gettHttpClient() Do I need to worry about synchronization of this httpclient? If so, what is the best way to handle this?

So I open my project using GNU Emacs 23.2.1. When I want to comment my changes in emacs I get the following error: can't move /home/jbloggs/projects/mnt/ssd1/.svn/tmp/entries to /home/jbloggs/mnt/ssd1/.svn/entries: Operation not permitted Does anyone know of any way I can resolve this issue? many thanks for any advice,
