• How to debug Fluent nHibernate

  Hi, I'm having some trouble with Fluent nHibernate. I added a column to a table and I thought I'd correctly changed the mappings and the connected data objects to correctly reflect this. However when I tried to run my application again I kept getting this error: System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Invalid column name 'Workflow_id'. I really couldn't see what the problem was with the changes I'd made so I reverted back to the original versions of the mapping and data object files from source control and removed the offending column from the database. But I'm still getting the same error. I'd like some advice on how to debug this. The SQL that gets reported on the error is semi-nonsensical: SELECT regions0_.Page_id as Page5_1_, regions0_.Id as Id1_, regions0_.Id as Id27_0_, regions0_.RegionId as RegionId27_0_, regions0_.RegionTemplate_id as RegionTe3_27_0_, regions0_.Workflow_id as Workflow4_27_0_ FROM [Region] regions0_ WHERE regions0_.Page_id=? And it won't execute as valid SQL anyway. Any ideas as to where to go from here?

  Hi All, I have 2 years of experience in Ruby on Rails. I have basic knowledge (Very Basic) of mysql such as data insertion, join, select from more than one table. But now i want to know more about it cause my friends are having trouble in interview when ask questions like 1] What is the trigger. 2] which trigger call when 3] what's views in mysql? etc....... are this questions for developers?is it basic database? Also what other things developer should know having experience of 2 years or more. I am in double mind as i have over two years of exp. in ruby and i am learning new thing everyday in ruby only. if someone ask me to rate yourself i can't give more than 5 out of 10 in ROR only.   Hey guys, I'm in need of some help. I have a list of delimited integer values that I need to sort. An example: Typical (alpha?) sort: 1.1.32.22 11.2.4 2.1.3.4 2.11.23.1.2 2.3.7 3.12.3.5 Correct (numerical) sort: 1.1.32.22 2.1.3.4 2.3.7 2.11.23.1.2 3.12.3.5 11.2.4 I'm having trouble figuring out how to setup the algorithm to do such a sort with n number of decimal delimiters and m number of integer fields.   On IE I'm having a bit of trouble with my CSS: body.transparent { background-color: transparent; color:#ffffff; text-shadow: 0 -1px #000, 1px 0 #000, 0 1px #000, -1px 0 #000; Filter:Glow(Color=#000000, Strength=1); } body.transparent a { text-shadow: none; filter: -;) } The glow filter needs to be excluded on body.transparent a, like the shadow is. But I just can't disable the filter for the the links. How do I do this??

I think this is strange since calling ggplot directly produces the right plot: i <- 2 ggplot(diamonds, aes(x=diamonds[,i]))+geom_bar()+xlab(names(diamonds)[i]) I don't really know how to describe this as a fitting title - suggestions as to a more descriptive question-title is most welcome. • reloadData not working - suspect cell's reuseIdentifier

  I have a view controller that gets presented modally and changes some data that effects the data in a uitableview in the modal's parent view controller (a table view). I call the tableview's reloadData method when the parent view reappears. I have confirmed that this code gets hit with a break point. My trouble is, reloadData isn't working. Here's the kicker - if I don't use reuseIdentifiers in the - (UITableViewCell *)cellForRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath method, the data reloads correctly. It looks like the reuseIdentifier is to blame. I really want to continue to use the reuseIdentifier for my cells - how do I make this work?

• uitextfield delegate must be file's owner?

  I've seen a few references (eg here) in response to folks having trouble getting the keyboard to dismiss in iPhone that say "double check that the delegate is attached to file's owner. Is this necessarily true? Or just standard practice? Can't I have other objects in my nib, such as a subclass of UIViewController, and make connections to those as I like? I'd hate to have to route everything into the object that happens to be file owner. That said, I'm having a difficult time getting the keyboard to disappear. I know it's connected to the delegate, because I can set break points and step through the code. I can see the [theTextField resignFirstResponder] get called (and return true), but the keyboard still won't go away. Any other suggestions?

• Understand ACTV mode and the PORT command

  Hello, I'm the part time FTP server administrator (with no real full-time admin). We currently only allow ACTV mode connections. Some of our clients have had issues with this but for the most part they've been ok using ACTV. For the few who aren't, we've been able to push the data over to their servers from ours. there is one client in particular however who is currently having trouble. He is using file-zilla and issuing a PORT command. First, does using the PORT command imply that you are in ACTV mode? Second is there a way in FileZilla to explicitly change to ACTV mode? • Inline Conditional Statement in Stored Procedure

  Here is the pseudo-code for my inline query in my code: select columnOne from myTable where columnOne = '#variableOne#' if len(variableTwo) gt 0 and columnTwo = '#variableTwo#' end I would like to move this into a stored procedure but am having trouble building the query correctly. I assume it would be something like select columnOne from myTable where columnOne = @variableOne CASE WHEN len(@variableTwo) <> 0 THEN and columnTwo = @variableTwo END This is giving me a syntax error. Could someone tell me what I've got wrong. Also, I would like to keep it to only one query and not just have one if statement. Also, I do not want to build the sql in the stored procedure and run Exec() on it.

• Antialiased fonts in emacs 23.2 on Windows

  I'm having trouble getting antialiased fonts to work correct in emacs 23.2, to the extent that it appears that it doesn't actually support antialised fonts. If I do the following in emacs 23.1: (set-face-font 'default "DejaVu Sans Mono-9.0:antialias=subpixel") (describe-font nil) Then this reports the full name as "DejaVu Sans Mono-9.0:antialias=subpixel", and the font looks nice and smooth. However, doing the same thing in emacs 23.2 gives the full name as "DejaVu Sans Mono-9.0" and the font looks nasty and chunky. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

  Hello, I'm the lead developer/architect wanna-be on a J2EE based system/platform at work that serves both real estate and automotive markets. The systems consists of a set of database back ends, web services and two web clients. The platform ends up serving 3 different products: an internal vehicle inventory system for use by company analysts, an external dealer management system (commercialized product), and a real estate inventory system (commercialized). In other words, it follows a software product lines approach....My question is, I'm having trouble communicating to other technical and some business people how this platform architecture is one system that serves multiple markets (by leveraging some existing assets combined with minor modifications)....Is there a formal modeling language that can simplify communicating this intent? I should note that I haven't read much about software product lines, so I'm not sure if there is actually a standard modeling approach to SPL that i'm not aware of....I'm also interested in knowing if there are special configuration management practices for such systems. thanks,

• NSInvocation: object does not implement methodSignatureForSelector

  I have this weird crash that only happens when running the app on the device (doesn't happen in the Simulator). It seems like the problem surfaces out of nowhere, as I haven't changed anything on that particular class. I had the very same issue a few days ago, and I ended up fixing it by duplicating the class, renaming it, and changing the referenced class — I haven't changed a single bit of code. So I'm trying to understand why it's doing this. I've read somewhere that usually you get this console error when the object isn't a subclass of NSObject (but it is!). Here's the exact console error message: *** NSInvocation: warning: object 0x679e0 of class 'FFProximityPickerView' does not implement methodSignatureForSelector: -- trouble ahead *** NSInvocation: warning: object 0x679e0 of class 'FFProximityPickerView' does not implement doesNotRecognizeSelector: -- abort And then it crashes. I'd be very thankful for anyone who can help me on this.

• PHP is_file returns false (incorrectly) for Windows share on Ubuntu

  Ubuntu server, PHP 5.3, connected via Samba to Windows server share. I am using file_exists() to check for availability of file on Windows machine. It returns false, although the filepath does exist. Meanwhile, file_get_contents() on the exact same filepath works fine. I'm wondering if it's a permission issue, since I'm having trouble configuring permissions of the files on the Windows share (it says I don't have permission to change permissions on them). When I look at the permissions through Nautilus, it says the user and group are both root, with 755 rights. I'd like to change the group to www-data, but can't seem to do it.

• How do I build a specialized JQuery Timer

  I have an asp.net page where two grid views are available showing current stock market price updates. I need to update these two grid views every 20 seconds. So I was thinking of using JQuery to do this job. What I need is a timer which will fire every 20 seconds, send an ajax request to the servers, bring the order lists from the server using json and then update those two grid views. If a request to the server is still being served 20 seconds after it is fired, then I want the old one to be aborted without causing any trouble. I already know how to bring objects using json. I just need to figure out how to send a request every 20 seconds and cancel a request if it is still being server for 20 seconds.

• What are the possible causes of JasperException

  I have a JSP that takes an Arraylist from the session object and removes the items from it. It seemed to be working fine and then out of nowhere when I navigate to that page, the page is blank. I checked the Tomcat log files and in catalina.out I am receiving a JasperException an it is showing it as being on a line with the following for(int i; i < agentItems.size(); i++) agentItems is the name of the ArrayList I am using. I have been debugging it and can't seem to figure out what the problem might be. I have read that a JasperException is sometiems thrown as a JSP's NullPointerException. Is this true or am I just completely overlooking the problem? I have the web application running on a local machine and a intermediate server for development in which both of them have had no trouble. Why could it be that only on this server it is giving me problems?

• For-Each and Pointers in Java

  Ok, so I'm tyring to iterate through an ArrayList and remove a specefic element. However, I am having some trouble using the For-Each like structure. When I run the following code: ArrayList<String> arr = new ArrayList<String>(); //... fill with some values (doesn't really matter) for(String t : arr) { t = " some other value "; //hoping this would change the actual array } for(String t : arr) { System.out.println(t); //however, I still get the same array here } My question in, how can I make 't' a pointer to 'arr' so that I am able to change the values in a for-each loop? I know I could loop through the ArrayList using a different structure, but this one looks so clean and readable, it would just be nice to be able to make 't' a pointer. All comments are appreciated! Even if you say I should just suck it up and use a different construct.

• xcodeproj merge fails when adding new group

  I'm currently using Xcode with Git, and I'm experiencing some troubles during the merge process of my xcodeproj. Developer1 create a new group in Xcode file arborescence the commit and push. Developer2 on an other computer do the same with an other group name, commit and pull(with merge). The xcodeproj of Developer 2 become unreadable with Xcode. But when I create a new file or just drag and drop files from finder to repository, the merge succeed. Did someone has experienced that kind of trouble? I have three model relationed in this way: Project(some_fields, item_id) ------belongsTo----- Item(some_fields, item_id) ------belongsTo----- User(some_fields campi, nickname) I need to do a find() and retrieve all fields from project, a field from Item and the nickname field from User. This is my code: $this->set('projects', $this->Project->find('all', array('recursive' => 2))); but my output doesn't contains the user object.   I'm a front end Flex developer peeking over the wall at html. One of the things I have a hard time with is weak typing in Javascript. I know many developers say they prefer it. How do I stop worrying and learn to love the weak typing? Are there best practices for variable naming that help make var types human readable? Another thing I have trouble with is getting by without my trusted compiler errors and warnings. I'm getting along with firebug. Is there anything else I should have in my toolkit?

• Looking for Google Reader javscript commands for controlling events

  I've played in the /reader/ui/ code for a few hours now, and couldn't figure this out. Also, I didn't see any exact help when searching StackOverflow. This is really a JavaScript un-obfuscator question. I'm looking for a way to call the obfuscated Google Reader javascript commands... and am having trouble determining what actual function is called when the "Next Items" button is pressed or the spacebar is hit. I've tried using Firebug as well as FireEvents to track it down, but it's just too well hidden. Any ideas? Something that I could type into the URL bar and make it run, something like 'javascript:SH("entries-down", "click");void(0);' Thanks in advance! And, please let me know if it's against Google's terms of service to de-obfuscate their code to view these JavaScript commands.

• Embed a database in the .apk of a distributed application [Android]

  Hi everybody, My question is I think quite simple but I don't think the answer will be... I have quite a lot of content to have in my application to make it run properly, and I'm thinking of putting all of it in a database, and distribute it in an embeded database with the application in the market. The only trouble is that I have no idea of how to do that. I know that I can extract a file .db from Eclipse DDMS with the content of my database, and I suppose I need to put it in the asset folder of my application, but then how to make the application use it to regenerate the application database? • VB.NET: Force user to use the topmost form

  I'm programming a Minesweeper clone in Visual Studio 2010, with VB.NET, as a Windows Form Application, and I'm having trouble with the Game Won and Game Lost forms. When I show those forms, I want the game form to still be visible, so that the player can see where the mines were, but I don't want the game form to be enabled until the Game Won or Game Lost form is closed. Exactly like Windows Minesweeper does when you win or lose. There aren't any obvious properties for this, as far as I can see, and I've had no luck Googling, I don't know what terms to search. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

• New wxpython controls not displaying until resize

  I have created a custom control (based on a panel) in wxPython that provides a list of custom controls on panel within it. The user needs to be able to add rows at will and have those rows displayed. I'm having trouble getting the new controls to actually appear after they are added. I know they are present, because they appear after a resize of the frame, or if I add them before Show() is called on the frame. I've convinced myself it's something basic, but I can't find the mistake. The add function looks like this: def addRow(self, id, reference, page, title, note): newRow = NoteListRow(self.listPanel, id, reference, page, title, note) self.listSizer.Add(newRow, flag=wx.EXPAND | wx.LEFT) self.rows.append(newRow) if len(self.rows) == 1: self.highliteRow(newRow) self.Refresh() self.Update() return newRow I assume I'm missing something about how refresh and update are supposed to behave, so even a good extended reference on those would likely be helpful.
