• administrator permission are recommended for running visual studio sp1 on windows 7 rc

  I get this annoying message everytime I try to run visual studio 2005(even using "Run as Administrator" gives same message). I have VS 2005 Professional with all the latest service packs installed including vs2005 SP1 and vs 2005 update for Vista. I am part of the administrators group on my machine. Still I have this problem. Some read on the web suggests that Running program in Compatibility mode solves the problem. Others also recommend turning off the message forever. Well my question is how do I turn off this warning which seems to bother me even if I am part of administrators group. Does Visual Studio does not run in administrator mode even when I am an administrator or even I use "Run as adminsitrator". Also it would be greate if someone out there can highlight what features of Visual Studio wont be available if Visual Studio is launched as a normal user (User is not an administrator/part of the administrator group) on Windows 7.

My hosting provider assures me that ports are open for my server to connect to the DB. Looking at my php info, MSSQL Support is enabled, using FreeTDS. Any ideas why this would be failing, or how I can begin trouble shooting the problem?

• IPP linker errors on cygwin

  I've built a program that uses mkl and ipp that runs on mac and linux. I'm now building that program for Windows using cygwin and gcc, and can't get it to link. The errors I'm getting are: Warning: .drectve -defaultlib:"uuid.lib" ' unrecognized ../../../bin/libMath.a(VectorUtility.cxx.o):VectorUtility.cxx:(.text+0x95): undefined reference to _ippGetLibVersion' ../../../bin/libMath.a(VectorUtility.cxx.o):VectorUtility.cxx:(.text+0x157): undefined reference to `_ippsWinHann_32f_I' (and many more like that). I'm using link path: /opt/intel/IPP/6.1.2.041/ia32/lib and linking to the following: ippiemerged, ippimerged, ippmemerged, ippmmerged, ippsemerged, ippsmerged and ippcorel. Can someone point me to what I'm doing wrong?

  Hi, I would like to know what lines of C code to add to a program so that it tells me the total time that the program takes to run. I guess there should be counter initialization near the beginning of main and one after the main function ends. Is the right header clock.h? Thanks a lot... Update I have a Win Xp machine.   I wonder what is the safest way to subtract two System.Runtime.InteropServices.ComTypes.FILETIME objects? I used the following code but sometimes it gives me ArithmaticOverflow exception due to the negative number in Low 32-bit values. I am not sure enclosing the body with unchecked will serve the purpose or not. • PHP Serialization Will not work correctly.

  Hi, I am developing and doing all the testing on a local machine using PHP Version 5.3.3-1ubuntu9.1 version. The host machine is PHP Version 5.2.15. All the seriliaze arguments are identical. The problems is when i try to login the user on my test local machine i do the following : $user->getByUserId($results['id'],$db); $_SESSION['user'] = serialize($user); which retrieved me and serialize the user. and i just load it back when ever i detect that a session exists $user->LoadFromObject(unserialize($_SESSION['user'])); This works perfectly on my test machine. Just transfered the files on the host to see if i can get a beta version out but i keep on getting Warning: unserialize() expects parameter 1 to be string, object given in /home/gamerent/public_html/beta/includes/header.php on line 19 i have noticed that if i echo the $_SESSION['user'] in both system the test will indeed display me the serializated one but the main one will just show me the object and will not serialize the $user

• How can I load a sql "dump" file into sql alchemy

  I have a large sql dump file ... with multiple CREATE TABLE and INSERT INTO statements. Is there any way to load these all into a SQLAlchemy sqlite database at once. I plan to use the introspected ORM from sqlsoup after I've created the tables. However, when I use the engine.execute() method it complains: sqlite3.Warning: You can only execute one statement at a time. Is there a way to work around this issue. Perhaps splitting the file with a regexp or some kind of parser, but I don't know enough SQL to get all of the cases for the regexp. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Will EDIT: Since this seems important ... The dump file was created with a MySQL database and so it has quite a few commands/syntax that sqlite3 does not understand correctly.

• Posting to tumblr in PHP

  I am trying to make a test post to my tumblr blog with a php script (that will eventually be ran as a cron job) I have been browsing google and read many answers on here and the closest I found is explained in this post: Tumblr OAuth using PHP's OAuth class I am using the code in his tutorial here: http://vigrond.com/blog/2012/02/04/oauth-extension-php-and-the-tumblr-api/ Pretty much as is, replacing the blogurl with mine and of course the consumer and secret key. When I run the .php script via my browser however, nothing happens. Any ideas? • Tab widget example not running

How can this be prevented? I simply want to avoid showing the empty part of the plot- the ordinate from 0 to .2, but not drop the associated data from the stat_summary calculation.

  I have an existing C codebase that works on x86. I'm now compiling it for x64. What I'd like to do is cast a size_t to a DWORD, and throw an exception if there's a loss of data. Q: Is there an idiom for this? Here's why I'm doing this: A bunch of Windows APIs accept DWORDs as arguments, and the code currently assumes sizeof(DWORD)==sizeof(size_t). That assumption holds for x86, but not for x64. So when compiling for x64, passing size_t in place of a DWORD argument, generates a compile-time warning. In virtually all of these cases the actual size is not going to exceed 2^32. But I want to code it defensively and explicitly. This is my first x64 project, so... be gentle.

• Seam-gen isn't working properly.. log4j acuses an error

I did the ./seam generate to reverse my current postgres db, which contains 4 tables, first I though everything was okay, just a warning message, but when I imported the project into eclipse, I saw that none of my packages had any class. This is the error that seam generate, got me.   We've identified that full browser caches are the cause of a problem on our extranet. It only affects a small number of our users, but we'd like to alert them to the problem and give them some guidance on how to fix the problem for themselves. We'd like to use a similar system to the one which GMail uses. When it detects that your browser's cache is full, it shows a warning message telling users that their cache is full and that it may cause problems with GMail, along with a link to a Gmail Help page on clearing your browser's cache. Does anyone know if there any resources out there, or examples of how to use JavaScript to detect that the browser's cache is full? Thanks.

Ideally we want the launch to be seamless. Is there a way of setting the browsers trust settings so that it won't display a security warning dialog for this executable? We have full admin capabilities on each workstation, and each user only uses Internet Explorer. We also know the correct local path for the exe.

• Const parameter at constructor causes stackoverflow

  I've found this strange behavior with VS2005 C++ compiler. Here is the situation: I cannot publish the code, but situation is very simple. Here is initial code: it work perfectly class Foo { public: Foo(Bar &bar) { ... } } The constructor implementation stores a reference, setup some members... indeed nothing special. If I change the code in the following way: class Foo { public: Foo(const Bar &bar) { ... } } I've added a const qualifier to the only constructor routine parameter. It compiles correctly, but the compiler outputs a warning saying that the routine Foo::Foo will cause a stackoverflow (even if the execution path doesn't construct any object Foo); effectively this happens. So, why the code without the const parameter works perfectly, while the one with the const qualifier causes a stackoverflow? What can cause this strange behavior?

  I'm having trouble when sending emails thorough the mail() function. I have a script that works perfectly fine for an email address like [email protected] but when the first part of the email is something with a dot like [email protected] it doesn't work and returns this error : Warning: mail() [function.mail ]: SMTP server response: 554 : Recipient address rejected: Relay access denied in confirmed.php on line 119 I am using real email address but have changed it in the above example. Any thoughts - I'm not a php master but surely there is an easy way to send emails to address with a 2 part first section?? Thanks in advance Ali

• GPU Computing - # of GPUs supported

  I currently have a desktop with 6 GPUs ( 3x HD 5970s ) in non-crossfire mode. Unfortunately, it seems that Windows 7 64bit only supports up to 4 GPUs. I have not been able to find a reliable source to deny or confirm this. If windows 7 has this limitation, is there a Linux flavor that supports more than 4 GPUs? In-case you are wondering, this is not for gaming but high-speed single precision computing. With this current setup ( if I can find 6gpu support ) I am looking to reach 13.8 Teraflops. Also, my motherboard does support 3 16x pci-xpress gen2 slots... and I have a 1500w powersupply plugged into a 20amp outlet. Windows is able to detect all 6 cores.. although, 2 of which displays the warning "Drivers failed to load". To recap: - Can windows support 6 GPUs? - If not, does Linux? Thank you.

• Strange findFn malfunction

  I noticed a strange malfunction in using findFn function (library sos) and I can't find out the source. While it works fine on my Windows XP pc, it does not on my Vista one. library (sos) findFn("randomization test") # in both finds 72 results findFn("{randomization test}") # In XP finds 19 or about so, but in Vista whenever I use {} and more than one word inside, # I keep getting the following: found 0 matches x has zero rows; nothing to display.
