  Hello all, I'm using Windows Vista, and I was wondering if I can put shortcuts for applications.Like for example, if I press a certain combination of keys I get notepad, or something like that. If those shortcuts were already there, how can I know them? Another thing, if I have an application that runs on media files for example, can I add it on the " Right Click" menu when I right click on media files. I hope you got that :) Thanks alot :)

• Always route a keypress to an application regardless of focus

  I have to transcribe some audio (not enough to download dedicated software but enough to put my hacker hat on) and flipping back and forth between vlc and my text editor every time I want to pause is really annoying. Is there a way to always route a key-press (for example F10) to vlc regardless of what window has focus. Bonus - I have a Makey Makey so if I can get this working I can create a pedal and it will be my first real use of it!

  In Photoshop you can select two objects, then press CTRL-G to group the layers, but in Photoshop Elements (8) it seems you can just merge layers which is a more permanent way to connect them without the same features as grouping. Is there another way to group layers in Photoshop elements or does this feature not exist?

That is, how not to jump only to the next CamelCase with TAB ... but instead have, say, CTRL + TAB choose the suggestion immediately/in full? • Pasting to Excel from Word - stop a Word new line being converted into a new cell

  So I have a table in MS Word which has two columns. In the second column the text is spread on multiple lines, ie I have pressed 'Enter' to achieve this. When I paste into Excel, it converts these separate lines into separate cells. What I want it to do is to keep the lines in the same cell, just on different lines, ie what would happen if I were to press Alt+Enter in a cell in excel. How would I go about this?

• Windows CHKDSK starts when 6 seconds have passed

  After reading this thread I might have sorted out why the CHKDSK-prompt starts. But the biggest problem is that when it prompts me with Press any key with in 10..0 seconds, nothing happens until the timer hits 6, then it starts the check even though I've pressed any button (and yet it's 4 seconds left). This question states the problem as it appears at me, though the answer is wrong. Why does the actual check start after 6 seconds, and is there any way to disable it from within Windows?

  I didn't notice what and when happend but from some moment replacing stopped work in Word. Just imagine that I have a text block: Some text block And I select the word text: Some text block After that I press some key, for example, 'A'. And I expect to see Some A block because selected area should be replaced (as usual). But instead of that I see: Some Atext block Inserted text is just appended as prefix.   I you copy/paste some files into a directory that already contains files with the same name you'll get a confirmation dialog "There is already a file with the same name in this location..." To replace all files you have to check "Do this for the next N conflicts" and then click on "Copy and Replace". Is there a keyboard shortcut for this (like there was in XP where you could simply press 'a')?
