• using Moniker.com's nameservers

  I have a VPS with A2Hosting for which i need to upgrade the OS. However, they've changed their VPS packages and forced me to order a new one. I went with an "unmanaged" package and have only just realised that they do not provide any DNS service at all, not even nameservers. Support tells me that "since your domain is not hosted with us, but with Moniker, you would not be able to use these nameservers. Your domain registrar should have a set of default nameservers that you can use, then create a A record to point to" my IP address. Moniker does provide for using their nameservers but i'm confused about which "pre-defined zone configuration" to use. They are: Domain Parking Domain Parking with Email Forwarding URL and Email Forwarding URL Forwarding URL Forwarding & CoolHandle Email I just want to use their nameserver and then create A & MX records pointing to the VPS. What do they mean by forwarding? I get the feeling it's a service that i don't want. Or, is it that i need to have a pre-defined zone only temporarily, and THEN set the A & MX? Which of these should i choose.

• Exclude category from Wordpress home page unless it belongs to another category

  I have multiple users adding content to restricted categories (using RoleScoper) in my Wordpress setup that don't show up on the homepage (custom template with query_posts()). I'm looking for a way to "promote" the submitted content to the homepage by adding it to another category. My loop code looks like this: <?php query_posts($query_string . '&cat=-37'); if (have_posts()): while (have_posts()): the_post(); ?> This will exclude all posts in category 37. However, even if I add the post to a different category it still gets excluded. Is there a way to exclude a post if it belongs to just that one category?

• How to resolve "Google can't find your site's robots.txt" error?

  I've recently found that "Google can't find your site's robots.txt" in crawl errors. When I tried Fetching as Google, I got result "SUCCESS", then I tried looking at crawl errors and it still shows "Google can't find your site's robots.txt". What can I do to resolve this issue? Before this issue arose, my site was indexed within a few mintues, but now I find that it took time to be indexed in Google's search. When I access http://mydomain.com/robots.txt, it shows the data below: User-agent: *Disallow: /wp-admin/ Disallow: /wp-includes/ I found Blocked URLs = 0, also no any other errors. Is there any other thing I need to change? Or what could be the solution for this? Any help would be appreciated.

• The layout page "~/Views/Shared/_Layout.cshtml" could not be found

  I got this error and I can't figure out what is going on. I am positive the _layout.cshtml resides in the shared folder and for the sake of trying things out, I moved to the Home folder and it then told that the Views/Home/_Layout.cshtml couldn't be found there either. So now I'm thinking the problem is in the call for this file for some reason. I'm not going to pretend I know ASP.NET MVC4, so please when you answer, explain it as you would to someone who is not familiar with the system at all. Believe it or not, this error came from tutorial #1 ha ha Here's the code to show that I did code it right: @{ ViewBag.Title = "Home Page"; Layout = "~/Views/Shared/_Layout.cshtml"; } And here is a picture of the location p.s. • Small, fast shopping cart setup

  I'm looking for an open source shopping cart solution that's simple and easy to setup. The requirements are: Quick setup for someone familiar with *nix webservers. Checkout via PayPal (other payment methods not needed). Customers should not have to create an account to make a purchase. At least a minimal level of inventory control. Ability to print/export a list of orders in compact form. Any recommendations for something I should try? Ability to get it up and working quickly is really my priority right now; if it's not ideal, it can be replaced (or, as I'm looking for open source, I can adapt it to fit the requirements better) at a later time. Edit: Really what I'm looking for is simplicity. This will be for a small local business, and the orders will consist of 1-10 items that are being delivered by a driver who needs a simple list of what each customer received when making delivery. Looking like a giant online computer/electronics/etc. store is definitely not a desirable quality. The simpler the interface presented to customers (who are used to purchasing through dumb web forms and paying COD), the better.

• 302 Redirect causes garbage at end of Wordpress link in Facebook

  When I try to link my Wordpress blog to Facebook, the url doesn't resolve properly. There's garbage appended at the end and Facebook is not able to retrieve information from the site. Happens in every page, post or main entry. Here's what happens: http://clarissarezende.com.br/ shows up in Facebook as http://clarissarezende.com.br/UPLcS/ (when copy/paste the link) and no information about the site shows up in FB. I'm using Wordpress 3.3.1 with ProPhoto 4. Recently I moved the DNS entry on my ISP. The blog is hosted at clarissarezende.com.br/public_html/blog2 and before the DNS would point to public_html and then I changed it to public_html/blog2. Note that I did not move any Wordpress files. Made the (I think) necessary changes all over Facebook, but still no dice... Any ideas on what can be happening?

  all. I use blogger as a platform for electronic music blog. Because of the thematics of the blog I embed many iframes (Youtube & Soundcloud). Of course this makes the articles to load slow. Almost each article on this blog consists of some text and many iframes below. What should I do in this particular case in order to make the articles (pages) load faster. Is there any available solution or I should use some jquery like lazy load to load iframes once the scroller reaches them? Any help is greatly appreciated.

My goal is set as a regular expression for a particular page (/success?.*), and I have a funnel set up which tracks the page before the goal (/action). The actual urls hit would be /sub1/action then /sub1/success?1234 and /sub2/action then /sub2/success?1234. Why is my table in my dashboard giving me wildly wrong numbers? Have I done something wrong?

  Hi, I want to achieve the following: Image a white sheet of paper on a black desk. Then rotate the paper a little bit to the left (like, 25 degrees). Now you still have the black desk, and a rotated white box on it. In this rotated white box I want to place non-rotated normal html content like text, tables, div's etc. I already have a problem at the very first step: rotating a rectangle.   In short I am working with a company that does trade shows... one of their new domain names has the word 'sex' in but completely innocently. EXAMPLE: www. someproductsexpo .com (Being 'some' 'products' 'expo'). The content is completely inoffensive and I do not see there being any other things that would flag either the web or any emails sent from [email protected] as inappropriate. My first impression is, is all this information really usable/used on a majority of all websites? Let's say of these headers/js functionality on day would be gone. Which ones would; never be noticed they were gone? impact user experience? impact server performance? immediately reimplemented because the Internet cannot work without it? Extra credit for differentiating between what can be done, what should be done and what is done in most situations.

• Keep Google Analytics in a backup site or not?

  I backed up my website and uploaded it to another server for testing and backup purposes. Should I remove the Google Analytics snippet from the index.php (which is for the real site), or does it not matter as it's not the same server and url address as the one declared at Google Analytics account? The reason I don't want to remove it is in case someone forgets about it if they upload the backup to the real site in case the real one breaks. Also I know that if I turn off the website there is no GA snippet, but I need it open so I can easily access and test it so I don't have to write pass all the time.

• Subdomain still times out after being set up a month ago

  I would like to use the subdomain www.high-res.domain.com to be accessed by external customers with specific permissions to access the site (like FTP). We use Network Solutions to house domain.com. We recently added a new IP address to point to www.high-res.domain.com. I gave the IP address to the company that hosts our website. I pinged www.high-res.domain.com and it points to the correct IP address but still times out. It’s been a few weeks now and when you ping it, it still times out. C:\>ping XXX.XXX.X.XXX Pinging XXX.XXX.X.XXX with 32 bytes of data: Request timed out. Request timed out. Request timed out. Request timed out. Ping statistics for XXX.XXX.X.XXX: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss). tracert times out as well. I even went to DNS tools and a few other sites for checking this and it shows the same thing. I recently went into the DNSmgmt on our server (wink2k3sp1) and created an A record under the DomainDnsZones which translated to a CNAME when you look at it. Under the domain it has two entries, one to the subdomain and the other to the website host. Each has separate IP addresses. Is this correct?

  I am building an website. It has an .nl domain. Now only my domain is showing up on google.nl I hope I can change this somehow that it could be findable in all google's (like google.com / co.uk) and so on. If I look on google forums. They say go to webmaster tools and change your geographic position over there. But I have added this site and I am not able to change it there because there is no select box. I dont have any idea were to search (yes I searched on google offcourse) or where to ask for this special problem. So maybe here can someone redirect me or explain me what is possible and what not.   I’m in a slightly weird situation right now, and I don’t have sufficient knowledge to sort this myself without truly understand what I’m doing. Yesterday, I’ve registered a domain (.com) and ordered a VPS, attached to that domain. Chances are I may receive mail on my .com address to confirm the domain. Unfortunately, that domain is nothing, but an empty domain. Currently, there’s no mailserver that fetches my mail. Because I don’t have a mailserver available, I (temporarily) want to use Gmail. I prefer to add it to my existing, personal address, but I’m okay with creating a new account as well. I just want to read possible incoming mails. I’ve tried to set MX records to What do I need to do to get mail to a Gmail address? PS. I’m aware of Google, NSA, etc. PPS. I just want to receive mail. I don’t care if I can’t send via my domain. PPS. Detailed steps would be greatly appreciated, I’m a noob.

Is there like a then command ? so it does 1. then 2. then 3. ?   This is a search relating to us: https://twitter.com/#!/search/realtime/scirra We're getting a of of new accounts tweeting: The Layers Bar - Scirra.com Firstly this is not us doing it as we're quite proud of doing everything completely whitehat. Also this tweet doesn't make any sense, "The Layers Bar" seems to be referring to a manual entry of ours. They all seem to be new accounts with no followers and no prior tweets coming in like clockwork every hour. Does anyone know why this could be happening? Could this harm us? It it possible to find out the source of this? I should mention I'm hesitant to report them all as spam because it could look like we are the culprits.
