• Sinatra 1.0 fastcgi deployment

  I'm currently setting up WSS 3.0 at my work, and I'm in the finance section of it. My question is, is there a possibility to encrypt and decrypt lists? And I mean entire lists, because the document libraries will have different types of files in it, from Word to Invoices in InfoPath. I know there is a solution in CodePlex called CryptoCollaboration, but whenever I deploy the solution in SharePoint I get a server error. Any alternatives? Or maybe you could fix the codeplex solution, that would be great! Thanks in advance!

• Netbeans not Deploying/Debugging

  Hello all, I have this problem, it's the second time it happens to me, I'm using the NB IDE 6.9.1 and after a while I was working fine, but then It stopped deploying my webapp when debugging or running the application, I don't recall messing with the ant build scripts or any strange configurations, it successfully builds the dist folder and *.war file and I am able to deploy it manually, but when I run it through the IDE it deletes the webapp folder webapps/myapp,so I cannot debug it or run it, all I get is ClassNotFoundException for my servlets. I am unsure of what extra information would help to solve this issue Its pretty annoying, I don't know how it got solved the last time, it just "went away" any help is truly appreciated.

  What is the effective way to deploy an asp.net website in subfolder/subdomain? Actually I need to keep web.config in root directory and modify following things for this. Web.config Location tags Web.config authentication forms tag Web.sitemap Style.css Response.redirect/Server.transfer Image path Is there any way to avoid these changes? So my development work is not more different from production. Means I am expecting one place where applied changes are effective on whole site. No need to modify path on each page.

• Struts 1 - struts-taglib.jar is not being found by my web application

  I am using Struts-1. I have developed a struts-based web application. I am using struts tags in my JSP pages supplied in struts-taglib.jar by inserting the following lines in the JSP file: <%@ taglib prefix="html" uri="http://struts.apache.org/tags-html" %> <%@ taglib prefix="logic" uri="http://struts.apache.org/tags-logic" %> <%@ taglib prefix="bean" uri="http://struts.apache.org/tags-bean" %> Now the application is working fine when I run it on my localsystem but when I deploy it on a server, it shows the following exception: org.apache.jasper.JasperException: The absolute uri: http://struts.apache.org/tags-html cannot be resolved in either web.xml or the jar files deployed with this application From the above exception, it seems that the application hasn't found the struts-taglib.jar file. But I have put the struts-taglib.jar in /WEB-INF/lib directory. Then where is the problem? • Java Web Service - Faulty Services - ClassNotFound Exception

  My Project has 2 java files (A.java and B.java in same package). A.java uses methods in B.java. And, an external jar has been added in the project build path. In order to create a web service (bottom up) from the class, I created a new Dynamic Web Project in Eclipse with axis2 as the runtime platform, and imported A.java and B.java source files. Next, since all my methods that need to be exposed are contained in A.java, I right click on it and created web service using the standard settings. When I deploy the web service on my apache, I get "Fault Service" and a few ClassNotFound Exceptions for some of the classes in my external jar file (I have already imported it as an external jar). Does the external jar needs to be imported in another way?

  We are currently in the process of solidifying a database change management process. We run MySql 5 running on RedHat 5. I have selected LiquiBase as the tool because it's open source and allows us to expand its functionality later if needed. It also seems to be one of the few free projects that are still active. Has anyone here had any experience using LiquiBase or other Db versioning tools? Company Background: We are an SaaS company providing a 7/24 hosted application. There are dozens of instances running different versions of the same database and we need a way to manage the deploy process as it's starting to get out of control. The databases have hundreds of tables and we typically do releases once every 3 months.

• How to use Maven2 with Apache Sling?

  Google doesn't help, neither does a stackoverflow.com search, and browsing through Apache Sling documentation doesn't show any solution so here goes: How can I best use Maven2 with Apache Sling? Basically as far as I see the entire application code will need to be placed in the JCR repository, but I need it versioned. There is some documentation about OSGi bundles that could contain resources, but isn't it kind of overkill to create a bundle with a bunch of Java code to talk to Sling when all I want to do is load some files to corresponding URLs? What I was hoping for is something like jetty:run that will automatically deploy a WAR into a new Jetty instance. Ideally the goal for Sling would run Sling and then load the specified content -- is there some Maven2 plugin for this right now? Or is the bundle-based solution the "canonical" way of doing this?

  I have written a small rails app to serve up content to another site via xmlhttprequests that will be operating from another domain (it will not be possible to get them running on the same server). I understand I will need to set access-control-allow-origin on my rails server to allow the requesting web page to access this material. It seems fairly well documented how to do this with Apache and this is probably the server I will use once I deploy the site. While I am developing though I hope to just use webrick as I am used to doing with rails. Is there a way of configuring webrick to provide the appropriate http header within rails?

• Eclipse thinks there are problems with my Android project...

  I have an Android project and Eclipse is telling me my project has an error with its build path. Specifically, the problem view shows "The project cannot be built until build path errors are resolved". The entire project builds just fine, meaning there are no red X's on any of the files. I can build the project outside of Eclipse, deploy it to the device, and it runs just fine, so I know there isn't a problem with my source code or layouts. The strange thing is when I remove the 'src' folder from the build path in Eclipse, clean and build the project, then re-add the 'src' folder to the build path and build the project it works again. However, within a few changes it gives me the same problem. Has anyone else encountered this before? Does anyone know of a solution? It's driving me mad! Thanks, -Dan

• Pseudorandom crashes in Flash Debugger - My bad, or Abode's?

  I'm working on a large-size dual AS3/Flex project (some parts are pure AS3, other parts are Flex), and I'm experiencing a lot of Flash Debugger crashes. These crashes aren't completely random - it seems like I can get them to occur with greater consistency when I perform certain actions in my app. However, at the same time, they aren't consistently repeatable - sometimes a set of actions causes my app to crash, and other times, the same steps execute fine without a crash. I have two questions (carefully worded to remove my personal bias :) ) Are these crashes due to my coding practices, or Adobe's Flash Debugger? When I deploy my app on a web site and access it via Flash Player, should I expect the same crashes to occur, or is Flash Player considerably more resilient than Flash Debugger?   I'm trying to take advantage of HTML 5 web sockets in .NET and the easiest way appears to be something like what this guy does. I've already tested this myself and it works great, but there are a few problems if I try to deploy this to my hosting site (discountasp.net). Basically, I am not allowed to open up a port on 8080 and listen on it. I then tried to figure out a way to listen on port 80 with IIS as well, but using the HTTPListener, I run into sercurity issues as well. This doesn't seem like it will help since I can't mess with this stuff on the hosting site server either. So to make my life easier, I think I need to find a hosting site that simply allows me to open up a socket on port 8080 and listen on it. Anyone know of one? Or does anyone know of a workaround (besides sniffing all the traffic on port 80)?

• Which web containers install themselves well as a Windows service?

  We have had a web application product for several years, and used Tomcat to deploy it under Windows as it registers itself as a Windows service so it starts and stops automatically. We may now happen to need more JEE facilitites than is provided by Tomcat (we are very tempted by the JEE 6 things in the container) so the question is which Open Source JEE containers works well as Windows services. Since Glassfish is the only JEE 6 implementation right now, it would be nice if it works well, but I'd like to hear experiences and not just what I can read from brochures. If not, what else do people use? EDIT: This goes for web containers too, and not just JEE containers. We will probably keep the necessary stack included until we find the right container and it gets JEE6 support. EDIT: I want this to work as distributed. I'm not interested in manually hacking wrappers etc., but want the installation process to handle the creation and removal of the service.

• Stop IIS 7 Application Pool from build script

  How can I stop and then restart an IIS 7 application pool from an MSBuild script running inside TeamCity. I want to deploy our nightly builds to an IIS server for out testers to view. I have tried using appcmd like so: appcmd stop apppool /apppool.name:MYAPP-POOL ... but I have run into elevation issues in Windows 2008 that so far have stopped me from being able to run that command from my TeamCity build process because Windows 2008 requires elevation in order to run appcmd. If I do not stop the application pool before I copy my files to the web server my MSBuild script is unable to copy the files to the server. Has anybody else seen and solved this issue when deploying web sites to IIS from TeamCity?

  I've noticed that chinese mobile phones became very popular, perhaps because of their very reasonable price and many modern features (touch screens, advanced multimedia, double sim cards etc). I'm wondering if there's any way to develop custom solutions for this handsets as independent developer? How to obtain a toolkit and documentation? I've found some resources, but mainly inconsistent tech notes, often in chinese only. For now I know, that majority of chinese handsets are based on chips from MediaTek (MTK), with operating system based on Nucleus RTOS and MMI (plutoMMI?) framework. Unfortunately, there is no Java RE avaiable (ok, there are some handsets with Java, however, Java isn't something I'm looking for) Is there any SDK, documentation, emulators/simulators, how-tos, etc avaiable? How to develop, deploy and test custom application for MTK mobile?

• WebSharingAppDemo-CEProviderEndToEnd Queries peerProvider for NeedsScope before any files are batche

  I'm building an application based on the WebSharingAppDemo-CEProviderEndToEnd. When I deploy the server portion on a server, the code gives the error "The path is not valid. Check the directory for the database." during the call to NeedsScope() in the CeWebSyncService.cs file. Obviously the server can't access the client's sdf but what is supposed to happen to make this work? The app uses batching to send the data and the batches have to be marshalled across to the temp directory but this problem is occurring before any files have been batched over. There is nothing for the server to look at to determine whether the peerProivider needs scope. • Connect rails application to SQL Server 2005 from Windows

  Hi guys. I (sadly) have to deploy a rails application on Windows XP which has to connect to Microsoft SQL Server 2005. Surfing in the web there are a lot of hits for connect from Linux to SQL Server, but cannot find out how to do it from Windows. Basically I followed these steps: Install dbi gem Install activerecord-sql-server-adapter gem My database.yml now looks like this: development: adapter: sqlserver mode: odbc dsn: test_dj host: HOSTNAME\SQLEXPRESS database: test_dj username: guest password: guest But I'm unable to connect it. When I run rake db:migrate I get IM002 (0) [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified I'm not a Windows user, so cannot understand really well the meaning of dsn element or so. Does someone have an idea how to solve this? • iPhone application-Memory handling issues

  Hi All, I am having some memory management issues in my app. Maybe someone may help me out here. 1) While checking for leaks in intruments, when I deploy and run the app on device, the virtual memory utilized, starts from 50 MB(even though i've just launched the app and am on the first screen). My resources contribute to 2.6 MB of it and I don't know what is contributing for the rest. What is the ideal utilization of virtual memory for an app? 2) In certain screen of the app, user is allowed to click a picture from the camera. In Instruments, I observe that virtual memory utilization jumps around 20MB, on the invocation of camera. Is it normal and can it be decreased? Looking forward to hear a reply soon. • Determining URLs updated via a series of commit logs

  I'm working on a project where I programmatically need to know when a URL has been changed by a developer, post or during deploy. The obvious answer may be to curl the URL one day, save the output, then curl and in x days then do a diff. That won't work in my case, as I'm only looking for changes the developer mande. If the site is a blog, new comments, user submitted photos, etc would make that curl diff useless. RoR example, using github. Let's assume I have access to the entire repository and all commit logs between iterations. Is there a way I could see that "/views/people/show.html.erb" was commited, then backtrack from there (maybe by inspecting routes.rb), to come up with the URL I can then hit via a browser?
