• Javascript unable to pass parameters into a property acting as a function

  Currently in a simplified form, my code looks like this function AddFileParam(file_id, name, value) { uploadcontrol.addFileParam(file_id, name, value) } uploadcontrol = new Upload() function upload() { //logic } upload.prototype.AddFileParam = function(file_id, name, value) { //logic }; The code is giving me an error as it states that addFileParam is not a valid function. This is caused by the instance of the function upload (aka. uploadcontrol). This is only occuring in Firefox/Chrome and not in IE. Any ideas on how to fix this?

  When using the programmers text editor vi, I'll often using a wildcard search to be lazy about the file I want to edit vi ThisIsAReallLongFi*.txt When this matches a single file it works great. However, if it matches multiple files vi does something weird. First, it opens the first file for editing Second, when I :wq out of the file, I get a message the bottom of the terminal that looks like this E173: 4 more files to edit Hit ENTER or type command to continue When I hit enter, it returns me to edit mode in the file I was just in. The behavior I'd expect here would be that vi would move on to the next file to edit. So, What's the logic behind vi's behavior here Is there a way to move on and edit the next file that's been matched? And yes, I know about tab completion, this question is based on curiosity and wanting to understand the shell better.

• Presentation Issue in an Unordered List

  I'm having an issue with correctly presenting items in an unordered list. The labels are floating left and the related spans that are long in length are wrapping and showing below the label. I need a solution that keeps the related spans in their respective columns. In other words, I don't want long spans to show under the labels. What property can I take advantage of so that I get the desired layout in all of the popular browsers, including IE6? Thanks in advance for the help. • Replacement for Azure SDK Powershell commandlets for deployments

  Hi, We've run into an issue with the New-Deployment Azure Powershell commandlet timing out; we've put in a bug report with MS. While they gave us an explanation for it (the path and timeout threshold used to upload through commandlets is different then what's used by the web portal); they don't have a fix for us. We need to get this running so we can automate our build deployments, so we're looking into developing a custom commandlet to replace New-Deployment using the Azure SDK; hoping this path will not have the timeout issues the commandlet did. But before we go down that route; are there any other scriptable tools I can use to replace the New-Deployment functionality? I looked at Cloudberry for Windows Azure; but that doesn't have a scriptable interface yet. Any constructive input is greatly appreciated.

I also found via some Googling that the command is part of the debian system. I was wondering if the command is available on non debian based distros. If it isn't is there a standard way of opening an html file in the default browser on a linux OS via command line? Note that I'm using Bash.

I have several Git Repositories in a folder on my Mac (OSX 10.6) and would like a script or tool that will loop through all the repositories and let me know if any of them needs "commit"-ing. I've migrated the class to IronPython, created a library assembly and referenced it. Now, how do I actually get an instance of that class? • How to Send Headers Through PHP Proxy?

  Okay, so I have an issue with an AJAX request. I currently have this URL: http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&safe=off&gbv=2&tbs=isch%3A1&sa=1&q=cars+imagesize%3A500x500&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&start=0 I then pass it to my proxy script by modifying the string to this: proxy.php?url=http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&safe=off&gbv=2&tbs=isch%3A1&sa=1&q=cars+imagesize%3A500x500&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&start=0 I need to use the PHP proxy script to grab that page's HTML so that I can then parse through it with javascript. However, the problem is that the headers in that URL are also being sent to the proxy script, and as a result, I get a 'malformed or illegal request' error. I'm pretty sure the two different sets of headers are the problem, because if I just replace the original URL string with 'http://wwww.google.com', the proxy returns the HTML of the page correctly. So basically, I don't know how to fix this. I'm a complete PHP noob, and I tried escaping the original URL before I appended it to the 'proxy.php?url=', but that doesn't fix anything. Any ideas?   Hi, I want to be able to pass anything to a git command (maybe its a SHA, maybe it's just something like "origin/master" or "devel/epxerimental" etc.) and git tells me the ref path of the branch that the passed something lives in, e.g. <git_command> 0dc27819b8e9 => output: refs/heads/master <git_command> xyz/test => output: refs/remotes/xyz/master ... I've been looking at git show or git log or git rev-parse and apart from --pretty=format:%d I couldn't find anything. (--pretty=format:%d output is quite strange with lotsa free space and empty lines and sometimes more than one ref paths are on one line bunched together). There has to be a better way? • why is internet explorer displaying my javascript pagination backwards?

  Here's a version of the code I'm using, stripped down to just the parts that aren't working. This is all written to generate some basic pagination with jQuery. In Chrome/Safari/Moz, I generate see spans, 1,2,3,4,...,etc When I look in IE7/8, I see etc,...,4,3,2,1 The string seems to be concatenating backwards!! This seems very strange to me, because there's not a whole lot going on in the code here, I can't figure out which bit could be causing problems. • Letter spacing issue with 'overlapping' character

  I'm having some trouble with a font I found on Google Web Fonts. As you can see in the image posted below, the capital V in 'Versus' overlaps with the 'e' when i'm using Firefox. Though when i'm using Chrome (or IE) it does not overlap and leaves me with an ugly space between the two characters. Is there any way to fix this and make it look like the one in Firefox? Or should I start looking for another font?
