• Zend Framework-does every webpage have it's own controller and indexAction and view?

  I'm wanting to be sure that I am setting things up correctly. On a typical website with 10 pages, would each page have it's own controller with it's own IndexAction and it's own View folder with it's own index.phtml as a view? Or do you have one controller with multiple Page1Action, Page2Action, etc and have multiple differently named view.phtml pages within view/index folder? I'm leaning toward the former because then I can have a cleaner controller for each page... Is there a standard, or is it subjective?

  Google app engine has smart feature named back references and I usually iterate them where the traditional SQL's computed column need to be used. Just imagine that need to accumulate specific force's total hp. class Force(db.Model): hp = db.IntegerProperty() class UnitGroup(db.Model): force = db.ReferenceProperty(reference_class=Force,collection_name="groups") hp = db.IntegerProperty() class Unit(db.Model): group = db.ReferenceProperty(reference_class=UnitGroup,collection_name="units") hp = db.IntegerProperty() When I code like following, it was horribly slow (almost 3s) with 20 forces with single group - single unit. (I guess back-referencing force reload sub entities. Am I right?) def get_hp(self): hp = 0 for group in self.groups: group_hp = 0 for unit in group.units: group_hp += unit.hp hp += group_hp return hp How can I optimize this code? Please consider that there are more properties should be computed for each force/unit-groups and I don't want to save these collective properties to each entities. :)

  I am basically trying to write this information from my dictionary to this file. I have this dictionary named files = {} and it is for a filing system I am making. Anyhow it is always being update with new items, and I want those items to be uploaded to the file. Then if you exit the program the files are loaded back to the dictionary files = {}. Here is the code I have so far: file = {} for i in files: g = open(i, 'r') g.read(i) g.close() EDIT I want the contents of the dictionary to be written to a file. The items inside the dictionary are all stored like this: files[filename] = {filedate:filetext} where filename is the file's name, filedate is the date that the file was made on, and the filetext is the files contents.

• Jython project in Eclipse can't find the xml module, but works in an identical project

  I have two projects in Eclipse with Java and Python code, using Jython. Also I'm using PyDev. One project can import and use the xml module just fine, and the other gives the error ImportError: No module named xml. As far as I can tell, all the project properties are set identically. The working project was created from scratch and the other comes from code checked out of an svn repository and put into a new project. What could be the difference? edit- Same for os, btw. It's just missing some path somewhere...

  I'm studying ASP.NET MVC and I use LINQ to SQL for model. I have a table named "Note" with the fields "Title" and "Content". The "Content" field can contain thousand characters. What I want to do is to display the LIST of notes in a page. I use table with two columns, for "Title" and SUBSTRING of the "Content" (50 characters). My problem is, I don't know how to edit the model so that it will display only the substring of the "Content". Thanks in advance!

  Hello guys, I need some help with a complex SQL query. Here's my setup: there are two tables, one with authors, and another with books. The books table contains a field named "author" which holds author's id. If a book has more than one author, then the "author" field will contain all the authors ids separated by ";" (something like 2;34;234). On the website I have to list all the books written by an author. If there's only one author, its simple, but how can I get those books where the author I'm interested in is the second or third author? Many thanks.

  This is FIrst time i try to create Cocoa Touch Static Library and follow these steps. Create New Project with Cocoa Touch Static Library named it By default i got single class with Demo.h and Demo.m. 2.Create a public function in .h and implement it in .m. 3.Select iOS Device and press cmd + B. 4.Copy Demo.a from products and the .h file drop it in my iOS App where i want to use it. 5.Then Import Demo.h and try to call the function that i wrote. • ActiveRecord find all parents that have associated children

  I don't know why I can't figure this out, I think it should be fairly simple. I have two models (see below). I'm trying to come up with a named scope for SupplierCategory that would find all SupplierCategory(s) (including :suppliers) who's associated Supplier(s) are not empty. I tried a straight up join, named_scope :with_suppliers, :joins => :suppliers which gives me only categories with suppliers, but it gives me each category listed separately, so if a category has 2 suppliers, i get the category twice in the returned array: Currently I'm using: named_scope :with_suppliers, :include => :suppliers and then in my view I'm using: <%= render :partial => 'category', :collection => @categories.find_all{|c| !c.suppliers.empty? } %> Not exactly eloquent but illustrates what I'm trying to achieve. Steps: Clear cache tables (Site Configuration Performance Clear Cached Data button) on localhost Export db and then import on live server Move files/folders to live server Edit settings.php to reflect live server config everything is working great until I make Clear Cached Data on Server. than my custom theme, custom front page, etc... all mess up :( What can be the problem? I appreciate helps so much!! Thanks! !!SORTED!! I used a subtheme for Zen, named mgf . then I had taken a back-up as mgf- somehow after I make Clear Cached Data, Drupal links to this mgf- which is old and doesnt have latest stylings. I just removed this folder from themes, and it linked to the right-latest mgf.

Of course I am able to do with visibility of textboxes but I can not understand how to change the position of the horizontal line dynamically?

• Why can't i call Contains method from my array?

  Arrrg!I am running into what i feel is a dumb issue with a simple script i'm writing in powershell. I am invoking a sql command that is calling a stored proc, with the results i put it a array. Does a variable give a name to an object, i.e. are variables just a naming mechanism for otherwise anonymous objects? Or is a variable the name itself? Or is a variable a named object in the sense that every variable is also an object? Or is a variable just a "proxy" with a name that "delegates" all operations to the real object? To confuse things further, many C++ books seem to treat variables and objects as synonyms. What is your take on this?

  I'm often confused by this. I've always been taught to name numbers I use often using variables or constants, but if it reduces the efficiency of the program, should I still do it? • Read file structure into an array, but only specific files.

  I have a directory structure that looks like this: /expandables - folder - folder - folder - folder - BannerInfo.txt - index.html Each one of the folder has the same exact stucture. One file named BannerInfo.txt and index.html. There are about 250 of these folders if that matters. I want to loop through these folders and store each of the index.html files into an array. Inside of the index.html file is just some simple HTML and Javascript of which I want to read into a string to be displayed later on. I'm struggling with how to filter out only the index.html file from the individual folders. The purpose of this is because I want to randomly select an index.html file and put the contents into a textarea. I thought I could do a simple array_rand() on the returned array and spit out the string. Any ideas?

  I have a message queue named amq570queue, after accumulating 2 million messages it started to slow down. What broker settings do I need to adjust to fix this issue? I temporarily moved it into a new message queue(in the same broker) and it is working fine. I initially thought that the kahadb has reached its size limit that is why it is getting slow. Before you all suggest me to rewrite the code: This is just a simplified test, my real aim is to use a named template to select a node into the variable FirstPicture and reuse it for further selections. I hope someone could help me to understand the behavior or could suggest me a proper way to select a node with code which could be easily reused (the decission which node is the first one is complex in my real application).   Hi, I have an interface named IHarvester. There are 3 implementations of that interface, each under their own namespace: Google Yahoo Bing A HarvesterManager uses the given harvester. It knows the interface and all 3 implementations. I want some way of letting the class user say in which harvester it wants to use. And in the code select that implementation, without a switch-case implementation. Can reflection save my day? There several people writing harvesters, I want them to focus only on building more harvesters, without ever needing to update the enum, or at worst, update only the enum.
