  • iTunes 9.0.2 hangs on launch on Mac OS X 10.6.2

    My iTunes 9.0.2 hangs on launch in OS X 10.6.2. This doesn't happen all the time, only if I've been running for a while. Then it will recur until I restart. Similarly Safari 4.0.4 will hang in the flash player plugin when about to play a video. If I restart both these problems go away until later. Based on this crash dump I am suspecting Audio Hijack Pro. I will try to install a newer version of the driver involved, but so far I haven't had much luck. I have uninstalled the Flash Plugin (10.0.r42 and r32) but clearly I want it in the long run. This is iTunes' crash report.   • Watchguard Firewall WebBlocker Regular Expression for Multiple Domains?

    I'm pretty sure this is really a regex question, so you can skip to REGEX QUESTION if you want to skip the background. Our primary firewall is a Watchguard X750e running Fireware XTM v11.2. We're using webblocker to block most of the categories, and I'm allowing needed sites as they arise. Some sites are simple to add as exceptions, like Pandora radio. That one is just a pattern matched exception with "padnora.com/" as the pattern. All traffic from anywhere on pandora.com is allowed. I'm running into trouble on more sophisticated domains that reference content off of their base domains. We'll take GrooveShark as a sample. If you go to http://grooveshark.com/ and view page source, you'll see hrefs referring to gs-cdn.net as well as grooveshar.com. So adding a WebBlocker exception to grooveshark.com/ is not effective, and I have to add a second rule allowing gs-cdn.net/ as well. I see that the WebBlocker allows regex rules, so what I'd like to do in situations like this is create a single regex rule that allows traffic to all the needed domains. REGEX QUESTION: I'd like to try a regex that matches grooveshark.com/ and gs-cdn.net/. If anybody can help me write that regex, I'd appreciate it. Here is what is in the WatchGuard documentation from that section: Regular expression Regular expression matches use a Perl-compatible regular expression to make a match. For example, .[onc][eor][gtm] matches .org, .net, .com, or any other three-letter combination of one letter from each bracket, in order. Be sure to drop the leading “http://” Supports wild cards used in shell script. For example, the expression “(www)?.watchguard.[com|org|net]” will match URL paths including www.watchguard.com, www.watchguard.net, and www.watchguard.org. Thanks all!

  • How to resolve Windows Update Error 8024402F on Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit?

    I have been having the same problem with Windows Updates on 2 of my machines at home, both running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. One of the 2 machines is a brand new install, the other has run Windows Update in the past, but is also not working now. When I manually check for updates using the Control Panel, I get error code 8024402F: I followed the link to "Get help with this error", which brings up several articles in Windows Help and Support, none of which are for this specific error code. From the help and general googling I've tried: Checking internet connectivity. Most of the help suggests that this error is caused by a general internet connectivity problem. But if you're reading this, my connection is definitely working fine. Disabling antivirus temporarily and trying to run Windows Update. This didn't help (I run AVG free) Running Control Panel - Troubleshooting - Security Systems - Fix Problems with Windows Update. This said it detected and resolved problems, but didn't help. Update using IE (as I used to in XP). Go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ redirects me to http://test.update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/vistadefault.aspx for which IE displays a "connection problem" (i.e. site unreachable) I've had the same problem for 24 hours now, so surely the Windows Update servers haven't been down this whole time? A quick check on twitter shows no worldwide outcry about Windows Update being unavailable, so is it just me?     I have both local.domain.com and lmarket.local.domain.com pointing to my localhost from etc/hosts. The problem is that I am using XAMPP on Windows 7, and have 2 SSL VirtualHosts in my apache config, but no matter which one I access, I am taken to local.domain.com.   • Is there a simple LDAP-to-HTTP gateway out there?

    We have a local LDAP directory that provides basic contact information about our user community. We would like to integrate this into some third-party hosted services that allow us to implement widgets that run arbitrary Javascript. In order to connect Javascript to our LDAP directory, I would like to set up a simple LDAP-to-HTTP proxy that would accept HTTP GET requests, translate them into an appropriate LDAP query, and respond with directory information as JSON-encoded data. In an ideal world, something like this: GET /ldap?mail=bob@example.com Would get me something like this: { "cn": "Bob Person", "title": "System Administrator", "sn": "Person", "mail": "bob@example.com", "telepehoneNumber": "617-555-1212", "givenName": "Bob" } (And this obviously assumes that the web application has locally configured information about what base DN to use, how to authenticate, etc). I guess I could write one...but surely something like this already exists? UPDATE The consensus seems to be that there isn't a pre-existing solution out there and that I should just get off my lazy derriere and write one. So I did, and it's here. It's not especially pretty, but it works for my prototyping and I figure maybe someone else will find it useful someday.

    I'm trying to make a IIS URL rewrite rule that appends an URL parameter to the URL. The url parameter is hssc. So, any url that is processed through the server, needs that parameter. Keeping in mind that some urls will have their own params already, and other urls won't, and root urls, etc, sometimes it will need to add ?hssc=1 or &hssc= - so, if I have a URL that is as such: http://www.blah.com should become http://www.blah.com/?hssc=1 http://www.blah.com/index.html should become http://www.blah.com/index.html?hssc=1 http://www.blah.com/?q=5 should become http://www.blah.com/q=5&hssc=1 http://www.blah.com/index.html?q=5 should become http://www.blah.com/index.html?q=5&hssc=1 http://www.blah.com/index.html?q=5&hssc=1 should be left alone I also want it that the URL should not be hidden (as in a backend rewrite behind the scenes). I need the URL to appear in the URL, so when users copy the URL, or bookmark it, the parameter is there. I've set the condition to match it \&hssc|\?hssc - now I just need a way to write the URL, so it appears and keeps the part of the original URL that is already there.

I have ISPConfig 3 installed on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Server The server has several domains and lets call the main domain: example.com. I have also demo.com I have several emails on each domain. The status of the email sent between the emails: email@example.com - email@demo.com (Success) email@demo.com - email@example.com (Failure) The failure is with error: postfix/pipe[31311]: 8E72ED058D: to=<[email protected]>, relay=dovecot, delay=0.1, delays=0.03/0/0/0.07, dsn=5.1.1, status=bounced (user unknown) I saw the fix for removing the example.com from: mydestination = localhost, localhost.localdomain in /etc/postfix/main.cf It didn't help. Also an important thing is that the example.com MX records are Google's. We are using Google Apps for this domain in order to use Gmail servers. I think the problem is that the mail server is not looking for the MX records of the domain. It knows the domain is set on this server and it searches for the destination email on the local server, not on Google's servers. For several days I'm really lost! Thanks for your help in advance!

  • How to fix a Postfix/MySQL/Dovecot Unknown Host Issue?

    I am having an issue with one of my Postfix/Dovecot mail servers and I'm unsure how to fix the problem. I will try to explain it in detail, here it goes: I have an Ubuntu server setup using Virtual hosting with Postfix, Dovecot and MySQL. We have one domain setup as a virtual domain, for this example I am going to use mail.example.com. Under that domain we have one email address. I have another server (MS Exchange) setup using another one of my sub-domains, ex.example.com. The problem is that when I SMTP into the account on mail.example.com and try to send an email to an account on ex.example.com, I get the email returned back to us with an "unknown host" error. Now, I know that the mail.example.com server can resolve the ex.example.com domain because I can ping/dig while SSH'd into it. I can also log into Postfix via Telnet and send an email to an ex.example.com mailbox. I'm guessing that it has something to do with Postfix/Dovecot looking locally for the domain in the virtual domain list because of the tld domain (example.com)? If that's the case, how do I get Postfix/Dovecot to only look locally for the entire URL (mail.example.com) and if it doesn't find it, send it to the correct server by looking up the MX/A records (which I know exist and are setup correctly)? I have been working on this all day and any guidance would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks for your time!
