  • ASP.NET Writing to the Bin directory, access denied when anonymous user

    Hi all I have a program that creates a small file in the Bin directory for the purpose of tracking a license (that's the intention), all works fine when debugging but I've just realized that when I run it on a IIS server under the anonymous user account (IUSR) the file isn't created as IUSR only has read permission (I know this is correct but drat!). Can I write to another location under IUSR account or can I run my code under 'Local Service' account? Thanks

The reason why I store it within this folder is since these images need to be cleared once in a while and it's so much easier just to clear the tmp directory using tmpwatch.     I have a shared disk that I would like to clean up once per week using a scheduled task of some sort. I would like to use a batch script so that the system admins can easily modify it or reuse it on other directories when needed. The directory has files with multiple file extensions but the ones that need to be deleted end in .bkf and must be over 2 weeks old. Does anyone have a batch script solution for this windows server (not sure which version)?

    I only get this error on one machine and its only on one directory when trying to check out some source code: Server sent unexpected return value (502 Bad Gateway) in response to OPTIONS other folks can download it fine. any ideas whats going on. I just uploaded to version 1.6.7 to see if it was a versioning issue but still see the error above.

  • Why is YAML installing to my home directory instead of its proper directory?

    I keep getting the following error when installing Ruby 1.9.3-p125: It seems your ruby installation is missing psych (for YAML output). To eliminate this warning, please install libyaml and reinstall your ruby. I've tried installing LibYAML and for some reason it's installing in my home directory on OS X Lion where the Documents, Music, Pictures, etc. folders are. Any idea how I can get rid of this error, properly install YAML and never have to deal with this again?

If you notice it seems to append a "\\" to the path when it tracks the file. Any idea what the problem may be? Thanks

    Hi, My team and I are programming a sort of Document Manager and the idea is to store them completely on DB. Is there a protocol or Extensions that allows us to show a "Virtual Directory" or files that are really non existent (only in DB). How does Sharepoint do this? I understand that Sharepoint uses WebDav but it implies that the files do exist physically somewhere. We intend to develop this application on .NET 4.0 and deploy it on IIS. Any suggestions?     I need to get the path (not the executable) where my application is running from: System.AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory() When I run the above statement with & "/images/image.jpg" on my local machine it works fine but when I install the application on another machine it says it cannot find the file and there is a lot of extra path information some. I just need the directory of where the app is running. I am coding in VB.NET with Visual Studio 2008. Thanks!

  • delete the 'target' directory after build

    hi, i know this is probably frowned upon by maven lovers, but the whole 'target' directory is a waste of space in the context of our program and it's deployment. we have other build processes responsible for creating the actual deployment and i currently manually delete the target dir after every maven build, so that its contents don't interfere with my file searches etc... is there a way to delete this dir automatically at the end of a maven build/install? thanks, p.
