• Unable to hide TabBar on sub view in iphone

  Hello Everyone, My app flow requires Navigation and TabBar controller. So I decided to use TabBar template. Since my first page is login which do not require TabBar, I used presentModelViewController to show Login screen which have Navigation bar if user Navigate to Forgot password. LoginView *rootView = [[[LoginView alloc] init] autorelease]; navigationController= [[[UINavigationController alloc] initWithRootViewController:rootView] autorelease]; [tabBarController presentModalViewController:navigationController animated:FALSE]; Ones the user login I dismiss view controller and show TabBar with 5 Tab and Each Tab contain TabaleView. User select any row and navigate to sub view. The issue is, on sub view I dont need tab bar. (TabBar is needed ONLY on dashboard). If I hide tabBar a white space remain there. • TimeoutException in simultaneous calls to WCF services from Silverlight application

  Analysing log files I've noticed that ~1% of service calls ended with TimeoutException on the Silverlight client side. The services (wcf) are quite simple and do not perform long computations. According the log all calls to the services are always processed in less that 1 sec (even when TimeoutException is occurred on the client!), so it is not server timeout. So what is wrong? Can it be configuration or network problem? How can I avoid it? What additional logging information can be helpful for localizing this issue? The only one workaround I've thought up is to retry service calls after timeout. I will appreciate any help on this issue! Update: On startup the application performs 17 service calls and 12 of them simultaneously (may it be cause of failure?). Update: WCF log has not contained useful information about this issue. It seems some service calls do not reach the server side.

• Acordex Image viewer throws out of memory exception in CITRIX environment

  We have a .net 2.0 application. In the .aspx page we are calling the java applet using . This applet is calling the Acordex Image viewer. In the production environment users are facing "out of memory" or "insufficient memory" issues when users try to open the image or magnify an image in Acordex viewer. Strangely when the users logout and login again they are able to see the same image without any errors. The website is hosted in a CITRIX environment. We have access to this environment but we are not able to reproduce this issue on the test servers or the local machines. We dont know what is causing this issue. What should we do to troubleshoot the issue? Do we have to increase the memory allotted to the users in CITRIX? The RAM is around 4 gb. • SSRS - Unable to determine if the owner of job has server access [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 15404))

  SQL Server Reporting Services, in SSRS it seems like Schedules never fire, however a look at the SQL Agent reveals a permission issue related to not being able to resolve a user account. Seems SQL Agent does not rely on caching or whatever voodoo Windows magically works. link text Fix is listed here... edit -- Above is the fix I used to workaround this issue, has any one found any other work arounds or resolutions to this issue? It seems that by default the SSRS Generated Schedules are run as this phantom user account. How do I change this default? Is SSRS creating the jobs as the user the service runs as? Thanks Remus

• [LINQ]InsertOnSubmit NullReferenceException

  Hello, I have a rather annoying issue with LinqToSql. I have created a class that is derived from the class in the DataContext. The problem is that as soon as I use "InsertOnSubmit(this);" on this derived class I get a NullReferenceException. I've seen some people with the same issue. However they've used a custom constructor and solved the issue by calling ": this()" like this thread http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/linqprojectgeneral/thread/0cf1fccb-6398-4f16-920b-adef9dc4ac9f The difference is that I use a default constructor which causes the base constructor to be called so there should not be any problem! This started when I put the threading code. Could I have some rogue threads out there? what is the best way to zero in a threading problem? The issue can't be recreated on my machine...I know I must be missing something on how to dispose of a backgroundworker properly. Any thoughts are appreciated, Thanks, Jose

• MSDN Subscription Site Down?

  I am not sure that this is an SO worthy question. (At least it is not like ones I normally ask.) But I can't get my MSDN Subscription to work any more. Is anyone else having this issue? When I log in and select "My Account" I get this: and when I try to download I get this: I have asked other developers that I know and it is broken for them too. But before I go digging into this, it would be nice to know if this is a me/us issue or an everyone issue. Also, if I am breaking the rules by posting this here let me know and I will delete it. • Unable to login magento administration

  Hi Everybody, I have just installed Magento on Windows using WAMP. Installation was successfull without any errors or warnings. When i browse administration page, i can see login screen. After entering the correct credentials it is not displaying me the Dashboard/Control Panel. Its displaying the same login page. If i enter wrong credentials, its authenticating and displaying a message as "invalid username or password" I am unable to determine the issue. If anybody has been through this issue and solved it please help me. How can i login Magento administration. Note: While installation i have selected session=Database. Will that be a issue? • Problem serving video to iPad from Mongrel 1.1.5 , RoR 2.0.2 on Mac OS 10.6.3 Server

  I am working off the Final Cut Server Integration sample provided by Apple that is a Rails app using 2.0.2 and runs on Mongrel 1.1.5. I can have a basic non-Ruby directory on my boot volume (Mac OS 10.6.3 Server) and can serve up video files just fine to iPad. However, when I drag the same video file into the 'public' area of the app running on -p 3000 it will not play on iPad, but will in Safari 4.0.5 desktop version. Images work fine so I know it's not a permissions issue. I'm getting the crossed-out play icon on iPad so it is not an issue of waiting on a large file to download before playing. I suspect it is a Mongrel/Snow Leopard issue but why would Safari on desktop work fine and not Safari iPad?   I have three objects; Action, Issue and Risk. These all contain a nunber of common variables/attributes (for example: Description, title, Due date, Raised by etc.) and some specific fields (risk has probability). The question is: Should I create 3 separate classes Action, Risk and Issue each containing the repeat fields. Create a parent class "Abstract_Item" containing these fields and operations on them and then have Action, Risk and Issue subclass Abstract_Item. This would adhere to DRY principal.

  HI all, I have a issue that when I try to write some bytes in the outputstream, I am getting the bad access. The code is as follows : int writtenBytes = [_os write:[packetInBytes bytes] maxLength:lengthOfPacket]; where the "packetInBytes" points to NSData and "lengthOfPacket" corresponds to the data length, and _os represents the NSOutputStream. • post commit hook fail

  I have Master/Slave setup using Win2k8R with SVN 1.6.9 and using TortoiseSVN 1.6.7. The access is through Apache and using http. Everything works but when I commit I get the following message: Error: post-commit hook failed (exit code 1) with output: Error: The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process. This happen when using multiple TortoiseSVN dialog for committing the files in rapid succession. If I use one TortoiseSVN dialog and wait till the commit reply is back then I won't see the problem. In other words, committing one at the time cause no issue. The post-commit script output is logged. Even though I get the above error but when I check the Master and Slave repository the files have been replicated okay with no issue. I am wondering how this issue can be solved.

  We are using Nagios to monitor our network with great results. There is now a new requirement we are struggling with: We want to notify Nagios of an non fatal but critical application errors. The application does not stop running but there is some sort of issue that needs looking into. Once the issue has been looked into, we need some way to "unflag" the issue in Nagios. We tried using the syslog, but the biggest problem was once an error was logged, the service was put into an error state with no way to recover. Also, while applications would report a critical error to the syslog, most of the time they don't report an "All clear" error.

• Import OLE Object from Access to MySQL

  I have a table in an access table which contains Product entries, one of the columns has a jpg image stored as an OLE Object. I am trying to import this table to MySQL but nothing seems to work. I have tried the MySQL migration tool but that has a known issue with Access and OLE Objects. (The issue being it doesnt work and leaves the fields blank) I also tried the suggestion on this site and while the data is imported it seems as though the image is getting corrupted in the transfer. When i try to preview the image i just get a binary view, if i save it on disk as a jpg image and try to open it i get an error stating the image is corrupt. The images in Access are fine and can be previewed. Access is storing the data as an OLE Object and when i import it to MySql it is saved in a MediumBlob field. Has anyone had this issue before and how did they resolve it ?

• HTML page showing blank in iOS6 Safari

  I have a HTML page which is showing blank after it loads completely. Here is the scenario, The page is build with a set of using 3 frames. There are various javascript's which push content into the site. Also, there is a timeout function, which checks if the user has not responded for 3 minutes, it logs out the session. The issue is, when I load this page whole page along with the content gets loaded, but after a fraction of seconds the page goes blank! This issue is only with iOS6 Safari on iPad. Can anyone help me out in figuring out the issue? Thanks in advance.

• Internet Explorer generates extra br

  I have an issue where Internet Explorer is generating an additional br element that is not in my source. The additional br effects the page's layout and is visible when using the developer tool. I've tried removing all hard returns between the surrounding elements but the additional br persists. Firefox and Chrome do not have this issue. Ideas on what I can do to fix the issue? • Can I ask Postgresql to ignore errors within a transaction

  I use Postgresql with the PostGIS extensions for ad-hoc spatial analysis. I generally construct and issue SQL queries by hand from within psql. I always wrap an analysis session within a transaction, so if I issue a destructive query I can roll it back. However, when I issue a query that contains an error, it cancels the transaction. Any further queries elicit the following warning: ERROR: current transaction is aborted, commands ignored until end of transaction block Is there a way I can turn this behaviour off? It is tiresome to rollback the transaction and rerun previous queries every time I make a typo.

• Handling newline character in input between Windows and Linux

  I think this is a standard problem which may have been asked before but I could not get the exact answer so posting the issue. The issue is that our server is running on a linux box. We access the server over the browser on a window box to enter data into field which is supposed to contain multiple lines which user can enter by pressing the enter key after each line Abc Def GHI When this input field (this is a text area),is read on the linux machine, we want to split the data based on new line character. I had three question on this. Does the incoming data contain "\r\n" or "\n" If incoming data does contain "\r\n", the linux line.separator property (vm property) would not work for me as it would say "\n" and therefore may leave "\r" in the data. If "\r" is left in the data, if I open the file on a windows machine, will this mean a newline character? Finally can anyone tell me the standard way to deal with this issue?

• Xml files stop being served by IIS6 after allowing .net to process the .xml extension

  I added a route into my site to allow for a sitemap and everything worked fine in IIS7 but once I deployed the route stopped working. Since the live server is running IIS6 I needed to put a new mapping in for .xml to be processed by .net and then it started to work. My issue though is on every other xml file on the site now. I keep getting a 404 error when trying to view xml files, but the sitemap.xml route works. Is this a routing issue or an IIS setup issue?
