  • My MS Access control displays no text for appended items following an append query

    - by Zaid
The control in question is part of a datasheet-style subform that feeds off a multi-field combo-box. The control is bound to the first field of the combo box, an ID field which is hidden from view (column width set to zero). Consequently, the second field (Code) is displayed in the control when an item is selected from the combo box. I'm using a form button action to append values to this datasheet. It seems that because I need to INSERT ID values in, the control is unable to display the corresponding Code value. Nothing is visible, unless I go manually into the combo box and select an item from it. How can I get the control to display the Code value?

  • Disassemble Microsoft Visual Studio 2003 compiler output

    - by Carl Norum
I'm seeing what I think is strange behaviour from object files output by the Microsoft Visual Studio 2003 tools. The file utility tells me: asmfile.obj: 80386 COFF executable not stripped - version 30821 For objects created by the assembler, but for objects coming from C files, I get just: cfile.obj: data Using Microsoft's dumpbin utility and the objdump I got from cygwin, I can disassemble the assembly-built file, but I get no useful results from either utility for the C-built files. I have a couple of questions related to this difference: What is the object file format generated by the MSVC2003 compiler? How can I disassemble that object file? I am particularly interested in getting the disassembly in AT&T syntax - I'm doing a port of a large source base to make it work with GCC, and I would like to use this method as a shortcut for some of the inline assembly routines in the project. Thanks!

  • How do I bind one TabControl to the TabItems of another TabControl in WPF?

    - by joebeazelman
    I've defined the following TabControl called TabControl1: <TabControl> <TabItem Header="Cheese"> The Cheese Tab </TabItem> <TabItem Header="Pepperoni"> The Pepperoni Tab </TabItem> <TabItem Header="Mushrooms"> The Mushrooms Tab </TabItem> </TabControl> I've defined another TabControl, TabControl2 which is dynamically loaded from an add-in or plugin: <TabControl> <TabItem Header="Anchovies"> The AnchoviesTab </TabItem> <TabItem Header="Jalepenos"> The Jalepenos Tab </TabItem> <TabItem Header="Rattle Snake"> The Rattle Snake Tab </TabItem> </TabControl> After TabControl1 binds to TabControl2 after the "Cheese" item, TabControl1 should look like this: <TabControl> <TabItem Header="Cheese"> The Cheese Tab </TabItem> <TabItem Header="Anchovies"> The AnchoviesTab </TabItem> <TabItem Header="Jalepenos"> The Jalepenos Tab </TabItem> <TabItem Header="Rattle Snake"> The Rattle Snake Tab </TabItem> <TabItem Header="Pepperoni"> The Pepperoni Tab </TabItem> <TabItem Header="Mushrooms"> The Mushrooms Tab </TabItem> </TabControl>

  • Setting style of ContextMenu on subitems

    - by thedesertfox
I have created a custom style and template for MenuItem and ContextMenu, and for my first level, that works great, but whenever I add a SubMenu item, the style of that ContextMenu reverts back to the default style. How can I make sure that item uses my custom style? I've tried using the <;Style TargetType="ContextMenu" Key="{x:Type ContextMenu}" syntax as well, and it doesn't seem to be overriding it either.

  • Binding a slider value on the height of its thumb in WPF

    - by sofri
Hi, I have a databinding problem in WPF. I would like to "customise" a slider in a way that the thumb grows when you move the slider to the right and the thumb shrinks when you move the slider to the left. So I edited the template for the slider and changed the look of the slider so the slider looks like I want it to. But now I have to bind the height of the thumb to the value of the slider but I do not know how that works. I did some simple data binding things but I cannot figure out how I can bind this "thumb height" that's inside of my slider's template to the slider's value that's inside the User Control where my slider is in. So how can I do it?

  • WPF Textbox "normal" text input

    - by Ash Rowe
G'day, I'm not sure if this is a problem relevant to only me or if anyone else has this issue also. None the less, I'll try and describe what is going on here. I have a few textbox's, default style, etc. I set an explicit maxwidth and maxheight to prevent resize when the text exceeds the default width of the textbox. The issue is that the text wraps to the next line, but I only want single line. So I set maxlines to 1 and textwrapping to NoWrap. That's fine. Now the carat and typed text disappears under the edges of the textbox when the width is exceeded and the only way I can get the carat and newly typed text back into view is by pressing the left and right arrows. Coming from MFC and using textboxes all the time with HTML, I would have thought the default behaviour would be to have the textbox content scroll with the carat or am I missing something here? Thank you, Ash

  • Microsoft Robotics Development Studio simulation project deployment

    - by slibby05
I am currently working on a project in Microsoft Robotics Development Studio, and I am having a little trouble deploying the solution for general use. My problem is this. I am making a simulation, so I need to deploy the simulation engine along with my project. This is dependent on the Ageia PhysX engine, DirectX, and the Microsoft XNA framework. I understand this, and I understand that the deployment tool for MRDS (dssdeploy) isn't set up to deploy simulations by default. So, if anyone has worked with MRDS before, and has deployed a simulation, I could use some help with this.

  • How to bind a WPF CustomControl to a ListBox

    - by VivyG
    I've just started to learn WPF this week so please accept my apologies if I am being stupid or missing fundamental points! Iam trying to build a very simple Contact browser. I have a Collection of Contact objects that displayed in a ListBox control which shows the FullName of the Contact and to the right I have a customControl called BasicContactCard. This is the XAML for the ContacWindow that displays the ListBox: <DockPanel Width="auto" Height="auto" Margin="8 8 8 8"> <Border Height="56" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Top" BorderThickness="1" CornerRadius="8" DockPanel.Dock="Top" Background="Beige"> <TextBox Height="32" Margin="23,5,135,5" Text="Search for contact here" FontStyle="Italic" Foreground="#FFAD9595" FontSize="14" BorderBrush="LightGray"/> </Border> <ListBox x:Name="contactList" DockPanel.Dock="Left" Width="192" Height="auto" Margin="5 4 0 8" /> <Grid> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="1*" /> <RowDefinition Height="0.125*" /> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <local:BasicContactCard Margin="8 8 8 8" /> <Button Grid.Row="1" x:Name="exit" Content="Exit" HorizontalAlignment="Right" Width="50" Height="25" Click="exit_Click" /> </Grid> </DockPanel> and this is the XAML for the CustomControl: <DockPanel Width="auto " Height="auto" Margin="8,8,8,8"> <Grid Width="auto" Height="auto" DockPanel.Dock="Top"> <Grid.RowDefinitions> <RowDefinition Height="1*" /> <RowDefinition Height="1*" /> <RowDefinition Height="1*" /> <RowDefinition Height="1*" /> </Grid.RowDefinitions> <TextBlock x:Name="companyField" Grid.Row="0" Width="auto" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" Margin="8,8,8,8" Text="Company"/> <TextBlock x:Name="contactField" Grid.Row="1" Width="auto" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" Margin="8,8,8,8" Text="Contact"/> <TextBlock x:Name="phoneField" Grid.Row="2" Width="auto" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" Margin="8,8,8,8" Text="Phone"/> <TextBlock x:Name="emailField" Grid.Row="3" Width="auto" HorizontalAlignment="Stretch" VerticalAlignment="Stretch" Margin="8,8,8,8" Text="email"/> </Grid> </DockPanel> The problem I have is how do I bind the individual elements of the CustomControl to the object behind the SelectedItem in the ListBox?

  • Listbox of comboboxes and binding them WPF

    - by Bashawy
Hello, I have a situation where i have a listbox of comboboxes , mainly it binds to a bridge entity so the object contains foreign keys . What i need to do is that i need to bind the display of the combos to the respective entities and their value members to the foreign key values in the bridge entity that i bind the listbox to. the code i have now is : <ListBox Name="lstServices" ScrollViewer.HorizontalScrollBarVisibility="Disabled" HorizontalContentAlignment="Stretch"> <ListBox.ItemTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Grid Margin="2" DataContext="{Binding ElementName=wndMain,Path=DataContext}"> <Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ColumnDefinition Width="*"/> <ColumnDefinition Width="*"/> </Grid.ColumnDefinitions> <ComboBox Name="cmbService" SelectedIndex="0" DisplayMemberPath="Name" SelectedValuePath="{Binding RelativeSource={RelativeSource Mode=TemplatedParent}, Path=FK_ServiceID}" ItemsSource="{Binding Path=AllServices}" Grid.Column="0"></ComboBox> <ComboBox Name="cmbService_Role" Margin="2,0,0,0" SelectedValuePath="{Binding Path=FK_ServiceRoleID}" DisplayMemberPath="Name" ItemsSource="{Binding Path=AllService_Roles}" Grid.Column="1"></ComboBox> </Grid> </DataTemplate> </ListBox.ItemTemplate> </ListBox> I could manage to display the values that i needed but since the List Item context changed i can't get to the listbox itemSource . Any help is appreciated Bishoy
