• Wordpress items catalogue plugin

  Could you please recommend me a plugin for Wordpress or may be a tiny standalone php script that allows to add some items with text info and a photo to a database, XML or just a text file from a special admin page. Then I need to fetch these items from the source and show in the page some way. To understand the task better, please check this page http://treaky.com/denis/products-classiccare.html.   I have two tables, events and photos, which relate together via the 'Event_ID' column. I wish to select ONE random photo from each event and display them. How can I do this? I have the following which displays all the photos which are associated. How can I limit it to one per event? • Using JavaScript to change the URL used when a page is bookmarked...

  JavaScript doesn't allow you to update window.location without triggering a reload. While I agree with this policy in principle (it shouldn't be possible to visit my website and have JavaScript change the location bar to read www.yourbankingsite.com,) I believe that it should be possible to change www.foo.org/index to www.foo.org/help. The only reason I care about this is for bookmarking. I'm working on a photo browser, and when a user is previewing a particular image, I want that image to be the default if they should bookmark that page. For example, if they are viewing foo.org/preview/images0-30 and they click on image #15, that image is expanded to a medium-sized view. If they then bookmark the page, I want the bookmark URL to be foo.org/preview/images0-30/active15. Any thoughts, or is there a security barrier on this one as well? I can certainly understand the same policy being applied here, but one can dream.

  I'm writing VBA codes for multiple Excel spreadsheets, which will be shared with others from time to time. At some point I find there are lots of duplications in my works. So I want to find a way to share codes in a sort of Excel add-in, like the .xla file. But when I tried to save the Excel file containing shared codes as .xla file, I got some problems: The file cannot be edit anymore after I save it in the default add-in folder If I move the .xls file to a folder other than the add-in folder, and open it directly - I cannot use its classes - which creates problems for sharing the codes Any ideas to create add-ins in a flexible and powerful way please? • Help with setting up panels in Java

  I'm new to Java awt, so I am having trouble with setting up panels. I have one giant panel, which needs to hold 3 panels inside (photo is attached at the bottom). One will go on top(1), second one will be in the middle(3), and third goes on the bottom(2). Any remaining space has to be divided equally between (1)/(3) and (3)/(2). Also, the middle panel (3) is a table, so GridLayout has to be used. How can I achieve this? Thanks in advance! P.S. I've tried to draw it in MS Paint (http://i45.tinypic.com/2w523ie.jpg)

• Cannot load PNG in C# on Mac OSX running Mono

  In C#, I'm trying to load a png file on Mac OSX using the latest Mono using System.Drawing; Bitmap bmp = new Bitmap("test.png"); I get the following error Either the image format is unknown or you don't have the required libraries to decode this format [GDI+ status: UnknownImageFormat] It doesn't happen with all png files; just this one. Resaving in photo shop doesn't fix it unless I switch to 8bpp. Is there something I need to install to support this "special" png file? Works fine on windows.

• iPhone: Grouping records in multiple UITableView views

  Let me first say, I know how to create sections and group records within a UITableView. What I am wanting to do is something similar to creating a photo album. So, I have all my data objects coming from core data, and, I want to be able to create a custom group, such as "My Trip to Mexico" and "First Birthday". Then, the user should be able to add objects/records into new sections/albums. So, basically the user is creating custom sections with their own custom names, and then choosing what records should go into that section/album. So, I am just wondering what is the best way to do this? I am thinking that I would just create some extra attributes for my core data model. Or, would I create a whole new "Album Section" object, and somehow use that? Point me in the right direction. :)

  Wild question here. Is it possible to access the copy buffer on the web. What I mean is. Can I go into Photoshop. Select a piece of a photo. Copy that piece and paste it into some element. That something would be like a Java applet or Flash or Silverlight or anything. I am just wondering if it is possible and if someone could point me in a direction. Since a few google searches have only found where you can copy files and paste via a Java applet.

In my case i need to login to view all pages. I want these common pages to be viewable without having to log on. If someone posts a link to my site in Facebook, it is generally just get the site's domain name and one of the images that appears on the site. No text appears. I would like to be able to control what text and images appear in the link. Is there a specification that they use? Can I provide some metadata so Facebook will display what I want?

  I've been testing graph API and ran into a problem. How can I get like count from photos of a page/group? I'm administrator/creator of a group. When entering in https://developers.facebook.com/tools/explorer/ certain photo ID from that group it brings almost all data, even comments, but not the like count. For like part it needs (according to docs) access token despite the fact that anyone can access that info. How to get access token of my page/group with required permissions and how to use it to get info I need? If possible I would like to get JSON from a single address if it is possible.

  Transparent persistence allows you to use regular objects instead of a database. The objects are automatically read from and written to disk. Examples of such systems are Gemstone and Rucksack (for common lisp). Simplified version of what they do: if you access foo.bar and bar is not in memory, it gets loaded from disk. If you do foo.bar = baz then the foo object gets updated on disk. Most systems also have some form of transactions, and they may have support for sharing objects across programs and even across a network.   I am going to write an application that uses QT4 (with C++ or python it isnt important in that moment). One of functionality is "Showing all items in database". One item has a Title, author, description and photo (constant size) And there could be very many items. Let's say 400. There won't be enough space to show'em all at once time. One row will have 200px, so i need at most 4 for once time. How to paginate them? I have no idea. I can use limit and offset in SQL queries, but how to tell window: "that's 5th page"? Any solutions?

• Simple modal div in jQuery?

  I have tried almost all of the jQuery Modal plkugins I can find on the net but they are all much to bulky for what I need. I dont need all the fancy features, I want to be able to open a div and have the background of the page go transparent grey like the photo below and have my div be on top of it, that is all I need to do so I would like to write some jquery to do this instead of using a bulky plugin. Does anyone have any small code that can do this task? Is the transparent background an image or just css?

• Playing BG Music Across Activities in Android

  Hello! First time to ask a question here at stackoverflow. Exciting! Haha. We're developing an Android game and we play some background music for our intro (we have an Intro Activity) but we want it to continue playing to the next Activity, and perhaps be able to stop or play the music again from anywhere within the application. What we're doing at the moment is play the bgm using MediaPlayer at our Intro Activity. However, we stop the music as soon as the user leaves that Activity. Do we have to use something like Services for this? Or is MediaPlayer/SoundPool enough? If anyone knows the answer, we'd gladly appreciate your sharing it with us. Thanks!

• SQL Not Exists in this Query - is it possible

  This is my script - it simply looks for the image file associated to a person record. Now the error will display if there is NO .jpg evident when the query runs. Msg 4860, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 Cannot bulk load. The file "C:\Dev\ClientServices\Defence\RAN\Shore\Config\Photos\002054.2009469432270600.001.jpg" does not exist. • Most efficient way for testing links

  I'm currently developping an app that is going through all the files on a server and checking every single hrefs to check wether they are valid or not. Using a WebClient or a HttpWebRequest/HttpWebResponse is kinda overkilling the process because it downloads the whole page each time, which is useless, I only need to check if the link do not return 404. What would be the most efficient way? Socket seems to be a good way of doing it, however I'm not quite sure how this works. Thanks for sharing your expertise!

• need to upload multiple files each with different parameters

  I have a form in which there are total eight fields, name, address, age and 5 other file/photo upload fields such that at a time one upload field is visible.. Now here every time I upload a file i need to fill the "name, address and age" as well. at this point I dont want to submit the form, but I just want to save these values in any variable and get back to same form with information of previous file ready to be submitted, now again user can upload new file with new values in... and so on... as user is done with the 5 files he should not be allowed to upload more but he should be allowed to submit all the 5 files to DB along with there supporting fields.. How should I proceed further ...?
