  I've been designing an application, based on .NET/Mono framework, which should make an heavy use of the shortest-path in a graph theories and I would like to use a native solution to traverse the nodes of the graph, instead of implementing surrogate solutions which would be hardly maintainable and would massively affect performances. I've found an application which would be perfect for my scope: neo4j. Unfortunately, this application is purely written in Java code and it's not portable to .NET, because of the massive differences between the two architectures. Is anyone out there knows if is it there any port of neo4j or a similar solution for .NET?

• Ldap search query with parameters

  Hey guys, I'm using a ldap server to store phonerecords. I want to select a record with a specific telnumber. So this is what I'm doing: LdapSearchResults lsc = _conn.Search(dnForPhonebook, 1, "(&(objectClass=*)(uid=" + id + "))", null, false); I'm using novell library for ldap commands. The options i need to give in for the Search command are the dn to the node "phonebook" (string), scope (int), filter (string), attrrs (string[]) and typesOnly (bool). As you can see, for the filter, i'm pasting the parameter as string in de stringfilter. I was wondering, does ldap have the same way of work as mysql or sql server, which can work with paramaters? • iPhone - cannot run code on device

  Hi I have some source code which I had developed and later gave to another team. They signed it with their certificate and provisioning profile. Now I have the code back and have set the appropriate values in the project properties for code signing identity (with my cert and profile). But when I run the application on a device, I get an error showing the other team's certificate and prompting that the provisioning profile does not exist. I don't know where it is being referenced. Can someone please help. Thanks.

  Is it, in any way, possible to disable the browsers execution of script inside a block/section/element ? My scenario is, that I'm letting my (future) users create "rich content" (using CK-editor). Content that wil later be shown to other users - with all the dangers that imply: xss, redirection, identity theft, spam and what not... • Rails Model multiple column uniqueness

  I am making a Viewer model with belongs_to :users belongs_to :orders that joins the models Users and Orders with a :has_many :through => :viewers. And the Viewer model has the attributes of user_id and order_id. How would I set it up so that new viewers are only accepted if both user_id and order_id are unique in the same row? I remember in MySQL being able to do so with a flag (although I can't for the life of me remember what it was), but I'm not sure how to do it with Rails. Can I do something like (for Viewer.rb) validates_uniqueness_of :user_id, :scope => :order_id?

  Hi, I'm trying to solve the problem: when a user is being logged into a WebSite (via user control .ascx stored on the Master Page), it's name is being stored in a Page.User.Identity.Name property. OK, but how to retrieve that user name in the controller ? Is it possible without registering System.Security.Principal namespace in the controller ? In the other words - the controller must know whose user wants to do some action (e.g. change account data). I could store it's name in the Html.Hidden control on each View but I don't want to have a mess in my Views

  I want to create a communication layer in android. The layer will communicate with server asynchronously. Multiple activities should be able to call methods of the communication layer. The layer will get messages from the server (it is not important for the scope of this question how) and should be able to tell activities to do some work based on these messages. How should I implement this? Should I do this using android Service? The main questions that I need to answer are: How can activities access the layer? How can the layer access activities? How can i make the communication layer live for the lifetime of the application?

• WCF Authentication on the Internet - HELP

  I have a WCF service using the basicHTTP binding. The service will be targeted to be deployed in production in a DMZ environment on a Windows Server 2008 64 bit running IIS 7.0 and is not in an Active Directory domain. The service will be accessed by a business partner over the Internet with SSL protection. Originally, I had built the service to use x.509 Message authentication with wsHTTPBinding and after a lot of problems I punted and decided to back up and use basicHTTP with UserName authentication. Result: same exact, obscure error message as I received with certificate mode. The service works perfectly inside our domain with the exact same authentication but as soon as I move it to the DMZ I get an error reading: "An unsecured or incorrectly secured fault was received from the other party. See the inner FaultException for the fault code and detail". The inner exception message is: "An error occurred when verifying security for the message."   My situation is that I have agreed on a per-project proposal with the client. The proposal is vague, but still names functionality in a way that can be argued as to whether it's included or not, while leaving some room for interpretation. I originally pressed as much as I could to get a per-month contract, arguing that the project is mostly non-predictable, but the client refused. Being a small company, I had to fold and signed a contract on an estimate based on my group's estimations. At this point we have reached completion on about 85% of the features (we think) but we ran out of budget. We have been working for almost two years with this client in previous contracts, and we have delivered a good product that they are happy with, so we have a good standing relationship. More info: -There has been a bit of scope-creep, but I don't think enough for me to hide behind that argument -We've been delivering partial releases about monthly. -We don't have systematic user-testing in place.

• Can't check more than one RadioButton across multiple items in a Treeview

  I’m using a TreeView control to present a list of Questions. Using the Prism.DataTemplateSelector, I'm loading a View (.xaml file) that represents a single Question into each node in the TreeView. In the View for that question is a ListBox containing RadioButtons (one for each item in a Picklist object that the ListBox is bound to). The radio buttons work as expected for the question, but when I check a RadioButton on another node/question in the TreeView, the check for the button in the Question I was editing before disappears. In other words, I'm only able to check one RadioButton in the whole list of Questions/Items bound to the containing TreeView. How do I group the RadioButtons in the ListBox to the scope of the single question instead of all the questions in the TreeView.

  I'm in the process of doing some identity consolidation, so I'm providing URLs to me at various locations on the internet. I'm quite active on IRC, so this naturally lead me to wonder whether there was a way to provide a link to my IRC presence. This lead to me finding http://www.w3.org/Addressing/draft-mirashi-url-irc-01.txt which appears to be a draft of an RFC for associating URLs with IRC, which suggests that I would be irc://irc.freenode.net/DRMacIver,isnick Which seems a little on the lame side. Further, this RFC draft has very thoroughly expired (February 28 1997). On the other hand it seems to be implemented in chatzilla at least: http://www.mozilla.org/projects/rt-messaging/chatzilla/irc-urls.html So does anyone know if there's a superseding RFC and/or any other de facto standard for this?

• Can I create a collection in Scala that uses different equals/hashCode/compare implementations?

  I'm looking for as simple way to create an identity set. I just want to be able to keep track of whether or not I've "seen" a particular object while traversing a graph. I can't use a regular Set because Set uses "==" (the equals method in Scala) to compare elements. What I want is a Set that uses "eq." Is there any way to create a Set in Scala that uses some application-specified method for testing equality rather than calling equals on the set elements? I looked for some kind of "wrapEquals" method that I could override but did not find it. I know that I could use Java's IdentityHashMap, but I'm looking for something more general-purpose. Another idea I had was to just wrap each set element in another object that implements equals in terms of eq, but it's wasteful to generate tons of new objects just to get a new equals implementation.   Sometimes i like to write up template classes and use type parameters to make the abstract methods more type safe. Template<X> { abstract void doStuff( X ); // NOT public } While type safety is great etc, the problem remains that even though X is not visible to outside code, one must still include the type to avoid warnings. My solution in this case would be to make it possible to define a scope for type parameters (now they are always public). Would other original features besides the obvious would you like.

  If I iterate through an array twice, once by reference and then by value, PHP will overwrite the last value in the array if I use the same variable name for each loop. This is best illustrated through an example: $array = range(1,5); foreach($array as &$element) { $element *= 2; } print_r($array); foreach($array as $element) { } print_r($array); Output: Array ( [0] = 2 [1] = 4 [2] = 6 [3] = 8 [4] = 10 ) Array ( [0] = 2 [1] = 4 [2] = 6 [3] = 8 [4] = 8 ) Note that I am not looking for a fix, I am looking to understand why this is happening. Also note that it does not happen if the variable names in each loop are not each called $element, so I'm guessing it has to do with $element still being in scope and a reference after the end of the first loop.

Does the script's use lib, 'dir2' override the use lib, 'dir1' in the first module, or do they have different scope?

• How to programaticaly gain root privileges ?

  I am writing a software (in C++, for Linux/Mac OSX) which runs as a non-privileged user and but needs root privileges at some point (to create a new virtual device). Running this program as root is not a option (mainly for security issues) and I need to know the identity (uid) of the "real" user. Is there a way to mimic the "sudo" command behavior (ask for user password) to temporarily gain root privileges and perform the particular task ? If so, which functions would I use ?   I have the following table, which is used for storing bandings. The table is maintained via a web frontend. I want to get to a position where I can use the operators values stored in the table in a case statement in a where clause. Like this. SELECT * FROM table WHERE CASE ValueLowerLimitOperator WHEN '<' THEN VALUE < X WHEN '>' THEN VALUE > X END rather than having to write mutiple case or if statements for each permutation. Does anyone have any suggestions how I can decode the operators values stored in the table as part of my query and then use them in a case/where statement?

  I'm attempting to create a custom jsp tag. Everything is working fine, except for the fact that I the request seems to be out-of-scope for my custom function.   Can I do this? I have the following in my code: public class ARClass : ActiveRecordBase<ARClass> { ---SNIP--- public void DoStuff() { using (new SessionScope()) { holder.CreateSession(typeof(ARClass)).Lock(this, LockMode.None); ...Do some work... } } } So, as I'm sure you can guess, I am doing this so that I can access lazy loaded references in the object. It works great, however I am worried about creating an ISession like this and just dropping it. Does it get properly registered with the SessionScope and will the scope properly tare my ISession down when it is disposed of? Or do I need to do more to manage it myself?

• Exception when programmatically copying content type

  Hi all: I'm getting exceptions when copying content type from one web to another: foreach (SPContentType destinationWebCt in destinationWeb.ContentTypes) { destinationWeb.ContentTypes.Add(existingWebCt); destinationWeb.Update(); } existingWebCt is the content type from another web e.g. /Site/Web. destinationWeb is the web that I wish to copy the content type to e.g. /Site/DestinationWeb. I got the SPException that says something like content type can not be added outside of its scope. Then I decided to replace all "ContentTypes" to "AvailableContentTypes", but then I got the SPException saying this collcetion could not be modified. So how can I copy a content type to another web?
