  • Loosing network cached passwords after a restart on Vista

    The passwords cached for Network shares on other computers and applications like MSN Live, MS Outlook, Sharepoint portal, Outlook Webmail, etc are lost when I reboot my computer, which runs on Vista. I always check the Remember password checkbox in applications/login dialogs where ever prompted. I cannot imagine of a third party program that may clean up this on system restart/shutdown. Any idea, as to what is going wrong?

  • Possible to disable smart card PIN change in Windows 7?

    I'm looking for a way to disable the smart card PIN change ability provided with Windows 7's native minidriver. It doesn't allow us to enforce any PIN complexity requirements such that users could change their PIN to 000000 or blank without any issues so we'd like to disable that ability. I've been googling around and haven't found any way to do this, but perhaps someone has encountered a similar issue and found a resolution? A third party minidriver is the next step, but if we could do it without additional tools I'm all for it.

  • Transferring programs to a different Windows partition

    I have two Windows partitions installed on a HDD, as well as a third partition where I have hundreds of programs installed. I've installed all the programs with my Windows 7 RC, but now that the Release Candidate is coming to an end I have to switch over to my other Windows installation. Is there an easy way to transfer all of my programs registry entries and other references to my new Windows installation, or do I have to reinstall all of my programs on my new partition? Thanks.

  • SQL 2008 Report Manager not working

    I have a SQL 2008 developer edition with SSRS and the report manager is only available from the local machine. If I try to access it from any other machine I get challenged for my domain u/name and pwd 3 times and then the screen stays blank. I have made changes to some config files (originals copied out) in order to get a 3rd party application to run but that is now uninstalled and the config files are all back to vanilla (originals copied back in) I feel its something to do with authentication but am stuck ... any suggestions welcomed Jonathan

  • Authenticate Teamcity against LDAP using StartTLS

    I am running a 6.5 version of Teamcity on a Debian Squeeze server and I use OpenLDAP to authenticate users. I know I can use LDAPS to be able to use encrypted password authentication, however this has been deprecated by the OpenLDAP developers, see: http://www.openldap.org/faq/data/cache/605.html I would like to know if there is a way to configure LDAP authentication in Teamcity to use StartTLS on port 389. I'm not finding anything explicitly saying so, but there are lots of recommendations to download assorted random software to do it.     I wonder if there is an option (inside of Evernote or outside of it, manually with the help of 3rd party tools) to locate the biggest notes inside of Evernote? I want to remove those or put them into another system. Basically a "order after note(file) size" option is what I need. My EN database is now over 250 MB big due to my increased usage so I need to take some action. Thanks for your help in advance.

    I would like to know of addons which actually enhance firefox's performance, both intentionally and unintentionally. I find that firefox tends to have major performance issues with certain websites. These websites tend to have a fair amount of javascript and css, and probably a large dom tree which may even be growing dynamically through javascript too. The worse offenders are those with heavy javascript, use heavy facebook integration, websites with non performant javascript, excessive javascript and websites with too many advertisements.

    I'm trying to configure hMailserver with a 3rd party SSL cert. I'v 1) Installed the SSL key & cert 2) Placed the hash named CA and intermediate in to the \externals\cs folder Now, the connection between the mail client and the server is secure and works. The issue is that mail clients outlook, apple mail, others issue an untrusted cert warning. I've followed several threads on the forums, but none seem to solve this problem

  • Ubuntu Server VM: copy paste?

    I've installed Ubuntu Server under Virtualbox just to get a nice little shell. I've also installed the VirtualBox "Guest Additions" and set "Shared Clipboard: Bidirectional". I still can't seem to get any copy-paste working. Am I missing something here? I've installed gpm which gives mouse support in server mode (no X), and allows copy-paste using the mouse, but still the VirtualBox integration doesn't work.

Unfortunately we kept the auditing disabled completely due it being such a resource hog. So I was wondering If there is a way to audit a specific folder for a specific security group, for just file and folder deletions within the specified folder.   • Collecting and viewing statistical data on website usage? Want to give Google Analytics the boot.

    I have always been somewhat reluctant to "outsource" site statistics to Google. We have an Apache server running on a Windows server. I am pretty sure all the foundation to collect the needed visitor data are there. I would like to stop using GA, and use some form of application where the data does not travel to a third party but remains at the host, or at least travels to the remote administrator, if it is a log analyzer in a browser. What are my options?
