  I have been trying using MS VSTS 2008, no luck so far.. After the redirection from server to accomodate the sessionID in URL, the test fails during the first time recording. I am open to looking at other tools which are not very expensive. Does anyone have any experience using any tool for testing cookieless sessionID website?

• SQL Server 2000, yes 2000 password hash

  I need to store a password has in a SQL server 2000 database. The information isn't critical but I really don't want to store the password in clear text. How can I get a unique hash (sha, sha1, md5, etc) in SQL server 2000 as HashBytes isn't available. I'm not looking for compiled DLL or the ilk, I dont have access to the server, needs to be pure MS SQL.

• Lotus Notes embeds SSRS csv data in body not as attachment

  I have a MS Reporting Services subscription implemented which emails out a CSV report as an attachment. The email is received with the attached CSV file no problem, EXCEPT for users with Lotus Notes. With LN users the contents of the csv file are embedded in the body of the email. Any suggestions on this?

  I have a java code that reads an excel file and writes it to a text file. When i get the output text file, I can see only symbols like this in the notepad. "????????????????????????????" But if i open the text file in wordpad or ms-word, the data is correctly displayed. What could be the error?

  I am loading a bunch of rows into MySql in C#. In MS Sql I can feed a DataReader to SqlBulkCopy, but the MySqlBulkCopy only presents itself as a bootstrap for a load from file. So, my current solution is using a prepared command in a transacted loop. Is there a faster way to accomplish bulk loading of MySql using a DataReader source?

  I'm familiar with WideCharToMultiByte and MultiByteToWideChar conversions and could use these to do something like: UTF8 - UTF16 - 1252 I know that iconv will do what I need, but does anybody know of any MS libs that will allow this in a single call?   I want to do a database-side string concatenation in a Rails query, and do it in database-independent way. SQL-92 specifies double-bar (||) as the concatenation operator. Unfortunately it looks like MS SQL Server doesn't support it; it uses + instead. I'm guessing that Rails' SQL grammar abstraction has solved the db-specific operator problem already. If it does exist, how do I use it?

  I am using msdb..sp_help_job to access whether a job succeeded or failed and can retrieve a general error. But, I want to access the specific error for the step that failed. I cannot seem to find it. It is not in this list of helpful stored procedures provided by MS http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms187763%28v=SQL.100%29.aspx The account running the query is limited but does have the SQLUserAgent role and owns the Jobs that it is accessing.

  I'm trying to use a custom sort with a ListView, as described in this blog entry. I'm doing ListCollectionView view = (ListCollectionView)CollectionViewSource.GetDefaultView(TheList.ItemsSource); as recommended there and in several other places, but for some reason I'm getting "Unable to cast object of type 'MS.Internal.Data.EnumerableCollectionView' to type 'System.Windows.Data.ListCollectionView'." (TheList is of type ListView). What could be causing this?

Why the hell did MS increase the standard font size (well font size is still set to 8, but it's somehow bigger now)? Can I fix it somehow, without correcting all my buttons etc. manually? I am quite happy with the result as I managed to integrate it with the ms build process etc. The problem with Selenium tests is that they are not always reliable especially if you browse with something else than Firefox. • WinAPI magic and MONO runtime

  I'm trying to get the same result of a .NET application (see the link Hide TabControl buttons to manage stacked Panel controls for details), but using the MONO runtime instead of the MS .NET runtime. Pratically, when the custom control is executed using the MONO runtime, the underlying message is not sent to the control, causing the tab pages to be shown... Is there a portable solution which is elegant as the linked one? If it is not possible, what are possible workarounds (apart from removing/adding tabs at runtime)?

  Having a table with 60 columns, and 200 rows. Altering a BIT column from NULL to NOT NULL, now has a running execution time of over 3 hours. Why is this taking so long? This is the query that I'm execution: ALTER TABLE tbl ALTER COLUMN col BIT NOT NULL Is there a faster way to do it, besides creating a new column, updating it with values from the old column, then dropping the old column and renaming the new one? This is on MS SQL Server 2005.
