• Fluent NHibernate Column Mapping with Reserved Word

  I've read that using a back tick ` should allow for using of reserved words. I'm using SQL Server and Fluent NHibernate and have a column name "File". If I map it with "`File" it tries using [Fil] so it's adding the brackets correctly, but dropping the "e" from the end. If I map it as "`Filee" it uses [File] correctly. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug in NHibernate or Fluent Nhibernate?

• Entity Framework one-to-one relationship mapping flattened in code

  I have a table structure like so. Address: AddressId int not null primary key identity ...more columns AddressContinental: AddressId int not null primary key identity foreign key to pk of Address County State AddressInternational: AddressId int not null primary key identity foreign key to pk of Address ProvinceRegion I don't have control over schema, this is just the way it is. Now, what I want to do is have a single Address object. public class Address { public int AddressId { get; set; } public County County { get; set; } public State State { get; set } public ProvinceRegion { get; set; } } I want to have EF pull it out of the database as a single entity. When saving, I want to save the single entity and have EF know to split it into the three tables. How would I map this in EF 4.1 Code First? I've been searching around and haven't found anything that meets my case yet. UPDATE An address record will have a record in Address and one in either AddressContinental or AddressInternational, but not both.

• Rspec Selenium. Test to check certain Ajax functions passes when i expect it to fail.

  I am testing a Ajax action using Rspec and Selenium. My story is as follows: it "should create a new User with any input" do @browser.open "/people" @browser.wait_for_page_to_load "2000" @browser.type "user_name", "Alok Swain" @browser.click "user_submit" @browser.text?("Alok Swain").should be_true end The action i am testing is: def add_user @users = User.all User.create(params[:user]) render :update do |page| page.alert "Created User" page.replace_html "users", :partial => '/people/users_list', :locals => {:users => @users} end end The test fails and the error I get is: 'User should create a new User with any input' FAILED expected false to be true. This test should pass right ? I also kept an alert and tried @browser.is_alert_present.should be_true but i got the same error. I tried @browser.is_text_present("test") and this test succeeded. In the test database a record was created for Alok Swain but when I tried the above assertion it passed when i expected it to fail. Is there any thing else to be done here. What am I missing ?

• .htaccess file on localhost throwing an error when using a Virtual Host config on my Localhost!!

  I am trying to set-up my localhost development server. I have everything working but when I try to add an .htaccess it throws this error: Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, [no address given] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log. I dont know exactly why this is, this is pretty much the exact same setup as the other developers machine, but when using my .htaccess file I get that error. Here is my .htaccess file (NOTE: They are commented because I left my site with this setup. It only lets me view the index page.   I've been wrestling with this problem for a couple hours now. • Linux servers going into Halt when pressing Control-D in putty or exit in the shell

  Since today at noon, there's a number of Linux CentOS servers which are going to Halt whenever i type exit or use Control-D to close the putty window. Did anyone encounter this weird behavior before? I've checked the aliases list on the servers and there is no alias regarding halt command. After the server came online i've checked the history and saw a "logout" command there but nothing which is related to Halt. At first, i thought it happens only from my computer but later i realized that it happens to everyone which types exit, logout or control+d. 2 of these server are our main iptables firewalls and so it's super critical, your assistance is much appreciated.   Hi, I am running some application on Tomcat 6.0.26. There is Apache in front of web server talking to it over mod_jk. Every few hours when I try to access application browser simply spins, and no content is retrieved. On a small screen, when the silverlight content is taller than the screen, the bottom is cut off, and there is no scroll bar. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?

• Managing database connections in an Android Activity

  I have an application with a ListActivity that uses a CursorAdapter as its adapter. The ListActivity opens the database and does the querying for the CursorAdapter, which is all well and good, but I am having issues with figuring out when to close both the Cursor and the SQLiteDatabase. The way things are handled right now, if the user finishes the activity, I close the database and the cursor. However, this still ends up with the DalvikVM warning me that I've left a database open - for example, if the user hits the "home" button (leaving the activity in the task's stack), rather than the "back" button. If I close them during pause and then re-query during resume, then I don't get any errors, but then a user cannot return to the list without it requerying (and thus losing the user's place in the list). By this I mean, the user can click on any item in the list and open a new activity based on it, but will often want to hit "back" afterwards and return to the same place on the list. If I requery, then I cannot return the user back to the correct spot. What is the proper way to handle this issue? I want the list to remain scrolled properly, but I don't want the VM to keep complaining about unclosed databases.   I like how Windows Skydrive lets you drag files into Internet Explorer where an ActiveX component uploads those files to your Skydrive account in a queue. This avoids the cumbersome traditional HTML approach where you present multiple "Browse" buttons and the user has to select individual files one by one, click Upload and then select more files after the first batch completes. What I'm not sure is how the same effect could be achieved in a web app without ActiveX. Any suggestions?

  On a production server (Windows Server 2003 SP2) I can connect to a remote WCF service with Internet Explorer 8: When I browse to the URL http://www.domain.com/Service.svc (where my service listens) I get the expected info page of the service displayed. Connection settings in Internet Explorer only specify "auto detect", proxy settings are disabled.   Given a URL, I would like to be able to render the returned HTML to know width and height for each div, fonts' size for each piece of text, color of each element, position of each element on screen, etc. A possible approach could be traversing the DOM tree with Hpricot and checking CSS style by parsing the associated stylesheet using css_parser gem. But this would not consider default styles, inheritance, floats, etc. In Java there's Cobra, a Java Web Renderer, which is able to render a web page and query attributes like width, font size, etc. for each fragment. I could use Cobra with JRuby or similar solutions, but prefer a Ruby native tool. Is there any library like this for Ruby?

It was design only for use with ie6 but now we need make it also run well on new client: ie8,ie7 on win7. I understand the most difference is the client: DOM and CSS. But my problem is we hasn't been worked with ie8, and I have not enough time to build an testing environment because our developing environment is not ready to make test (its remoting completely, and managed by another partner) Any experience or suggestion to help me weighing this task need will be welcomed.

• IE browser problems occurring with Javascript Movable Type SignIn widget!

  i am using movable type 4.23 (publishing system) and have been testing my site on a PC and discovered that internet explorer (IE) browsers are unable to view my site due to a conflict in the javascript of the signin widget (initially i thought it was in the mt.js file). i receive this error: "Error 80004004"...as well as in the Javascript itself: "Element is not an object" (or object is not an element?)... function mtUpdateSignInWidget(u) { var el = document.getElementById('signin-widget-content'); if i put in "id" where 'sign-widget-content' goes, it will say its not an object. all other browsers work perfectly (firefox, safari and opera on my mac and firefox on pc). if anyone wants a link to the test page, i can provide that... someone please help! thanks.

• How to get mp3 files to play in iPhone Safari web browser?

  How can I get an MP3 audio file to play in iPhone Safari (OS 3.1)? Currently, I am generating HTML e.g. <a href="file.mp3"><img src="sound.png" alt="Play audio"/></a> to play the file on clicking on the nested image. This works on Safari on OSX, but not on the iPhone. There, the content of the file is shown as text, but it does not appear to be a mime-type problem when checked with Live HTTP Headers from Firefox. I have found approaches referenced here. These require the Safari Plugins setting to be on in the preferences, which is why it did not previously work for me.
