  • How to add the Windows defender(MS essential) in Windows explorer right click menu to scan a particular drive/folder on demand?

    - by avirk
As we have inbuilt antivirus like Windows defender in Windows 8 now, I called it antivirus because it has embedded option of MS essential as well. But there is no option to scan a particular drive on demand by right click on it in windows explore as we had in Windows 7 with MS essential or like other antiviruses. I know we can run a custom scan for the particular drive or specific folder but that process is too lengthy and time consuming. This guide explain that how we can add the Windows Defender in the desktop right click menu, so I'm curious is there a way to add it in the Windows explorer right click menu to launch a search whenever I need to.

  • Data Mining Resources

    - by Dejan Sarka
There are many different types of analyses, each one with its own pros and cons. Relational reports have a predefined structure, and end users cannot change it. They are simple to use for end users. Reports can use real-time data and snapshots of data to show the state of a report at specific points in time. One of the drawbacks is that report authoring is limited to IT pros and advanced users. Any kind of dynamic restructuring is very limited. If real-time data is used for a report, the report has a negative impact on the performance of the source system. Processing of the reports might be slow because the data comes from relational database management systems, which are not optimized for reporting only. If you create a semantic model of your data, your end users can create ad-hoc report structures. However, the development is more complex because a developer is needed to create these semantic models. For OLAP, you typically use specialized database management systems. You get lightning speed of analyses. End users can use rich and thin clients to interactively change the structure of the report. Typically, they do it graphically. However, the development of an OLAP system is many times quite complex. It involves the preparation and maintenance of an enterprise data warehouse and OLAP cubes. In order to exploit the possibility of real-time restructuring of reports, the users must be both active and educated. The data is usually stale, as it is loaded into data warehouses and OLAP cubes with a scheduled process. With data mining, a structure is not selected in advance; it searches for the structure. As a result, data mining can give you the most valuable results because you can discover patterns you did not expect. A data mining model structure is limited only by the attributes that you use to train the model. One of the drawbacks is that a lot of knowledge is needed for a successful data mining project. End users have to understand the results. Subject matter experts and IT professionals need to understand business problem thoroughly. The development might be sometimes even more complex than the development of OLAP cubes. Each type of analysis has its own place in an enterprise system. SQL Server has tools for all kinds of analyses. However, data mining is the most advanced way of analyzing the data; this is the “I” in BI. In order to get the most out of it, you need to learn quite a lot. In this blog post, I am gathering together resources for learning, including forthcoming events. Books Multiple authors: SQL Server MVP Deep Dives – I wrote an introductory data mining chapter there. Erik Veerman, Teo Lachev and Dejan Sarka: MCTS Self-Paced Training Kit (Exam 70-448): Microsoft SQL Server 2008 - Business Intelligence Development and Maintenance – you can find a good overview of a complete BI solution, including data mining, in this book. Jamie MacLennan, ZhaoHui Tang, and Bogdan Crivat: Data Mining with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 – can’t miss this book if you want to mine your data with SQL Server tools. Michael Berry, Gordon Linoff: Mastering Data Mining: The Art and Science of Customer Relationship Management – data mining from both, business and technical perspective. Dorian Pyle: Data Preparation for Data Mining – an in-depth book about data preparation. Thomas and Ronald Wonnacott: Introductory Statistics – if you thought that you could get away without statistics, then you are not serious about data mining. Jiawei Han and Micheline Kamber: Data Mining Concepts and Techniques – in-depth explanation of the most popular data mining algorithms. Michael Berry and Gordon Linoff: Data Mining Techniques – another book that explains data mining algorithms, more fro a business perspective. Paolo Guidici: Applied Data Mining – very mathematical book, only if you enjoy statistics and mathematics in general. Forthcoming presentations I am presenting two data mining related sessions during the PASS Summit in Charlotte, NC: Wednesday, October 16th, 2013 - Fraud Detection: Notes from the Field – I am showing how to use data mining for a specific business problem. The presentation is based on real-life projects. Friday, October 18th: Excel 2013 Advanced Analytics – I am focusing on Excel Data Mining Add-ins, and how to use them together with Power Pivot and other add-ins. This is the most you can get out of Excel. Sinergija 2013, Belgrade, Serbia Tuesday, October 22nd: Excel 2013 Analytics to the Max – another presentation focusing on the most advanced analytics you can get in Excel. SQL Rally Amsterdam, Netherlands Thursday, November 7th: Advanced Analytics in Excel 2013 – and again I am presenting about data mining in Excel. Why three different titles for the same presentation? I don’t know, I guess I forgot the name I proposed every time right after I sent the proposal. Courses Data Mining with SQL Server 2012 – I wrote a 3-day course for SolidQ. If you are interested in this course, which I could also deliver in a shorter seminar way, you can contact your closes SolidQ subsidiary, or, of course, me directly on addresses [email protected] or [email protected]. This course could also complement the existing courseware portfolio of training providers, which are welcome to contact me as well. OK, now you know: no more excuses, start learning data mining, get the most out of your data

  • Is MS Forefront Add-in for Exchange server detecting HTML/Redirector.C incorrectly?

    - by rhart
Users of a website hosted by our organization occasionally send complaints that our registration confirmation emails are infected with HTML/Redirector.C. They are always using an MS Exchange Server with the MS Forefront for Exchange AV add-in. The thing is, I don't think the detection is legitimate. I think the issue is that the link in the email we send causes a redirect. I should point out that this is done for a legitimate purpose. :) Has anybody run into this before? Naturally, Microsoft provides absolutely no good information on this one: http://www.microsoft.com/security/portal/Threat/Encyclopedia/Entry.aspx?Name=Trojan%3aHTML%2fRedirector.C&ThreatID=-2147358338 I can't find any other explanation of HTML/Redirector.C on the Internet either. If anyone knows of a real description for this virus that would be greatly appreciated as well.

  • Moving Portable Office. Have a LAN & Phone line query?

    - by John Smith
We are about to move a portable office that has 8 phones and 12 lan connections. They are all wired back to our main switch and Nortel bcm200 phone system which are only about 20m (65ft) away. After the move the office will be 180m (600ft) away from these. What is the maximum length of cable a digital phone line can be? I am aware that a lan connection can only be 100m (305ft) when using cat5e utp. Does this rule apply to phone connections also? If so how can I extend beyond 100m for the phones? I was going to install about three cabinets, 3 switches and 6 patch panels for the lan connections but the ideal struck me tonight that maybe I could run a fibre optic line. Would this be feasible? Any feedback on this is greatly appreciated. Thanks

  • Implications of Java 6 End of Public Updates for EBS Users

    - by Steven Chan (Oracle Development)
The Support Roadmap for Oracle Java is published here: Oracle Java SE Support Roadmap The latest updates to that page (as of Sept. 19, 2012) state (emphasis added): Java SE 6 End of Public Updates Notice After February 2013, Oracle will no longer post updates of Java SE 6 to its public download sites. Existing Java SE 6 downloads already posted as of February 2013 will remain accessible in the Java Archive on Oracle Technology Network. Developers and end-users are encouraged to update to more recent Java SE versions that remain available for public download. For enterprise customers, who need continued access to critical bug fixes and security fixes as well as general maintenance for Java SE 6 or older versions, long term support is available through Oracle Java SE Support . What does this mean for Oracle E-Business Suite users? EBS users fall under the category of "enterprise users" above.  Java is an integral part of the Oracle E-Business Suite technology stack, so EBS users will continue to receive Java SE 6 updates after February 2013. In other words, nothing will change for EBS users after February 2013.  EBS users will continue to receive critical bug fixes and security fixes as well as general maintenance for Java SE 6. These Java SE 6 updates will be made available to EBS users for the Extended Support periods documented in the Oracle Lifetime Support policy document for Oracle Applications (PDF): EBS 11i Extended Support ends November 2013 EBS 12.0 Extended Support ends January 2015 EBS 12.1 Extended Support ends December 2018 Will EBS users be forced to upgrade to JRE 7 for Windows desktop clients? No. This upgrade will be highly recommended but currently remains optional. JRE 6 will be available to Windows users to run with EBS for the duration of your respective EBS Extended Support period.  Updates will be delivered via My Oracle Support, where you can continue to receive critical bug fixes and security fixes as well as general maintenance for JRE 6 desktop clients.  The certification of Oracle E-Business Suite with JRE 7 (for desktop clients accessing EBS Forms-based content) is in its final stages.  If you plan to upgrade your EBS desktop clients to JRE 7 when that certification is released, you can get a head-start on that today. Coexistence of JRE 6 and JRE 7 on Windows desktops The upgrade to JRE 7 will be highly recommended for EBS users, but some users may need to run both JRE 6 and 7 on their Windows desktops for reasons unrelated to the E-Business Suite. Most EBS configurations with IE and Firefox use non-static versioning by default. JRE 7 will be invoked instead of JRE 6 if both are installed on a Windows desktop. For more details, see "Appendix B: Static vs. Non-static Versioning and Set Up Options" in Notes 290801.1 and 393931.1. Applying Updates to JRE 6 and JRE 7 to Windows desktops Auto-update will keep JRE 7 up-to-date for Windows users with JRE 7 installed. Auto-update will only keep JRE 7 up-to-date for Windows users with both JRE 6 and 7 installed.  JRE 6 users are strongly encouraged to apply the latest Critical Patch Updates as soon as possible after each release. The Jave SE CPUs will be available via My Oracle Support.  EBS users can find more information about JRE 6 and 7 updates here: Information Center: Installation & Configuration for Oracle Java SE (Note 1412103.2) The dates for future Java SE CPUs can be found on the Critical Patch Updates, Security Alerts and Third Party Bulletin.  An RSS feed is available on that site for those who would like to be kept up-to-date. What will Mac users need? Oracle will provide updates to JRE 7 for Mac OS X users. EBS users running Macs will need to upgrade to JRE 7 to receive JRE updates. The certification of Oracle E-Business Suite with JRE 7 for Mac-based desktop clients accessing EBS Forms-based content is underway. Mac users waiting for that certification may find this article useful: How to Reenable Apple Java 6 Plug-in for Mac EBS Users Will EBS users be forced to upgrade to JDK 7 for EBS application tier servers? No. This upgrade will be highly recommended but will be optional for EBS application tier servers running on Windows, Linux, and Solaris.  You can choose to remain on JDK 6 for the duration of your respective EBS Extended Support period.  If you remain on JDK 6, you will continue to receive critical bug fixes and security fixes as well as general maintenance for JDK 6. The certification of Oracle E-Business Suite with JDK 7 for EBS application tier servers on Windows, Linux, and Solaris as well as other platforms such as IBM AIX and HP-UX is planned.  Customers running platforms other than Windows, Linux, and Solaris should refer to their Java vendors's sites for more information about their support policies. • Has anyone managed to install Office Webapps on SharePoint 2010, on Windows 7 ?

    - by Nick Haslam
I've installed SharePoint 2010 as a development environment on my Windows 7 x64 environment (notes here) and would like to install Office Web Apps onto it also. However, when trying to install (following this link), I get an error saying that Web roles aren't installed. The error message in the log file is: Start C:\Windows\system32\ServerManagerCmd.exe -whatif -inputpath C:\Users\nickh\AppData\Local\Temp\PRE1.tmp.XML Error: Failed to start process for file: C:\Windows\system32\ServerManagerCmd.exe arguments: -whatif -inputpath C:\Users\nickh\AppData\Local\Temp\PRE1.tmp.XML ErrorCode: 2(0x2). Which is effectively saying that ServerManagerCmd is not found. It isn't on my machine as it is deprecated and replaced by Powershell functions, but is on Server 2008 R2. I've tried copying that over and it just fails to run. Is there a way to get Office WebApps installed on Win7 ? Is there a way to get a working version of ServerManagerCmd.exe on a Windows 7 x64 environment ? Many thanks

  • How much the distance and ms can affect on the download speed ?

    - by Prix
Let's consider A (client) and B (server) where A makes download from B. How much can a bad routing from A to B affect the download speed ? For example A does a tracert to B and get a response of 10 steps where the avg ms is around 300 with 10% packet loss at the 4 step and when the connection is normal the avg from A to B is 10 ~ 30 ms. Could this sort of impact reduce A download speed drasticaly or as long as both side and routes have enough link for the full speed of A from B and vice-versa it should maintain the same speed ? Besides tracert and the ping analyse of A to B what else is used to identify the problem ? If you need extra information please let me know.

  • Where to download MS SQL Server 2005 Developer Edition?

    - by Mark
Just got put in charge of a big web project. All I know is the web server is running MS SQL 2005, so I need something comparable to test locally. I figure developer edition is my best bet because it offers everything that the enterprise edition does, but is for development purposes only. But this page is pretty worthless http://www.microsoft.com/sqlserver/2005/en/us/developer.aspx Where do I actually download it? What about SQL 2005 Express? Would that meet my needs? I can't figure out all the differences between these stupid MS products.

  • MS-Outlook add-on to move a new message to the same folder as the rest of the thread

    - by Guss
I'm forced to use MS-Outlook in my job, while I very much like the feature that shows all the messages of a discussion thread (that are stored in different folders) in the inbox when a new message is received for that thread, if the previous messages are in a different data file (which I'm forced to have as the MS-Exchange server quota is very very small) then the message list only shows the name of the data file and not the name of the folder where the messages are stored. As a result, because I file my message by context (i.e. all the emails for project A go into a "Project A" folder, etc), and its important for me to have all the messages in a single thread in the same folder, it is sometimes hard to figure out into which folder should I file the new message. It would be great help if there was some add-on or VBA script that I could add to my setup that will offer a shortcut key or a button to "file this message to the same folder as the previous messages in the conversation thread".

  • Managing MS Exchange server-side email rules on Mac OS X?

    - by Doug Harris
Has anybody found an easy way to manage server-side rules from Mac OS X? Here's a brief list of what I know doesn't work: Entourage 2008 - it supports client rules, but not server rules. No good, there are certain actions that should happen before I open my laptop or check my email on my iPhone. Apple Mail - same as Entourage, but at least I don't get as frustrated since, unlike Entourage, this isn't a Microsoft product. Web mail (aka Outlook Web Access) - perhaps you can manage rule in the fancy version which Exchange serves to IE, but not with the browsers available on a Mac. I manage this now by launching a VMWare virtual machine running Windows XP and Outlook. I don't count that as an easy way. Update, post release of Office 2011 Does MS Outlook 2011 have the ability to manage server-side rules? Update, post installation of Office 2011 No. Outlook 2011 doesn't have this ability. I've already removed my account from Outlook and switched back to Apple Mail and iCal

  • Connection between Windows Web Server in DMZ and Windows Application Server and MS SQL Database Server within LAN [closed]

    - by user1345260
Excuse me for being naive. But I'm a newbie. We have a Windows Web Server within DMZ and a Windows Application Server and MS SQL Database Server. What ports do we open for connection between them? For example: Someone opens the Data Driven Website on the Web Server and they should be able see the data that the website is trying to access from the Database. Currently, I'm planning to open the following ports on the Web Server to establish the access, 80 HTTP 443 HTTPS 21 FTP 3389 RDP 53 DNS 1433 MS SQL Server Please validate my assumption. I would highly appreciate your help. Also, please provide me any articles on this topic so that I can read.

  • Make Ms Word activate window of file if it is already open when I double click the file's icon?

    - by barlop
When I try to open a word document that is already open, I want it to just activate the window where the file is open. How can I do that? sometimes it takes time to check if an ms word document is already open, I don't to have to have to check through a bunch of open word documents to see if it's in there or not, I just want to double click the icon of a word document, and if it's open then go to it, if not then open it. With the doc/docx or shortcut to the doc/docx , I have some files where when I double click , it activates it when already open. I have other files where double clicking will bring up a "file in use" dialog box. I can't find what is the cause. I want it to always activate the window rather than reopen it. update- maybe that is default behaviour to activate when already open, and after a crash I had that stopped. i'll try deleting the working files and starting ms word again, idea from here

  • Is having both MS Access 2003 and 2007 on the same computer possible?

    - by tintincutes
I have Microsoft Office 2003 first in my computer and since we are on the migration stage to Microsoft Access 2007, I also installed the Microsoft Access 2007 in the same computer. Now I have the 2003 and 2007 in my PC. Do you think it will cause any problem if I do the migration, that I have the two version of the Access in the computer? Additional Question: I'm just wondering why I'm getting the below window every time I open the Microsoft Access 2003 Microsoft Access 2007. It's really strange. Before I was able to open it after I install the Office 2007 after 3 days it just started this strange thing. I don't have any clue.

  • MemoryStream, XmlTextWriter and Warning 4 CA2202 : Microsoft.Usage

    - by rasx
The Run Code Analysis command in Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate returns a warning when seeing a certain pattern with MemoryStream and XmlTextWriter. This is the warning: Warning 7 CA2202 : Microsoft.Usage : Object 'ms' can be disposed more than once in method 'KinteWritePages.GetXPathDocument(DbConnection)'. To avoid generating a System.ObjectDisposedException you should not call Dispose more than one time on an object.: Lines: 421 C:\Visual Studio 2010\Projects\Songhay.DataAccess.KinteWritePages\KinteWritePages.cs 421 Songhay.DataAccess.KinteWritePages This is the form: static XPathDocument GetXPathDocument(DbConnection connection) { XPathDocument xpDoc = null; var ms = new MemoryStream(); try { using(XmlTextWriter writer = new XmlTextWriter(ms, Encoding.UTF8)) { using(DbDataReader reader = CommonReader.GetReader(connection, Resources.KinteRssSql)) { writer.WriteStartDocument(); writer.WriteStartElement("data"); do { while(reader.Read()) { writer.WriteStartElement("item"); for(int i = 0; i < reader.FieldCount; i++) { writer.WriteRaw(String.Format("<{0}>{1}</{0}>", reader.GetName(i), reader[i].ToString())); } writer.WriteFullEndElement(); } } while(reader.NextResult()); writer.WriteFullEndElement(); writer.WriteEndDocument(); writer.Flush(); ms.Position = 0; xpDoc = new XPathDocument(ms); } } } finally { ms.Dispose(); } return xpDoc; } The same kind of warning is produced for this form: XPathDocument xpDoc = null; using(var ms = new MemoryStream()) { using(XmlTextWriter writer = new XmlTextWriter(ms, Encoding.UTF8)) { using(DbDataReader reader = CommonReader.GetReader(connection, Resources.KinteRssSql)) { //... } } } return xpDoc; By the way, the following form produces another warning: XPathDocument xpDoc = null; var ms = new MemoryStream(); using(XmlTextWriter writer = new XmlTextWriter(ms, Encoding.UTF8)) { using(DbDataReader reader = CommonReader.GetReader(connection, Resources.KinteRssSql)) { //... } } return xpDoc; The above produces the warning: Warning 7 CA2000 : Microsoft.Reliability : In method 'KinteWritePages.GetXPathDocument(DbConnection)', object 'ms' is not disposed along all exception paths. Supress warning CA2000 and hope that Microsoft is disposing of MemoryStream (because Reflector is not showing me the source code). Rewrite my legacy code to recognize the wonderful XDocument and LINQ to XML.

  • MOSS Search Error: Authentication failed because the remote party has closed the transport stream

    - by Cherie Riesberg
    http://support.microsoft.com/?id=962928 To resolve this issue, follow these steps: Stop the Office SharePoint Services Search service. To do this, follow these steps: Click Start, click Run, type cmd , and then click OK. At the command prompt, type net stop osearch, and then press ENTER. Type exit to exit the command prompt. Download and install the IIS 6.0 Resource Kit Tools. To obtain the IIS 6.0 Resource Kit Tools, visit the following Microsoft Web site: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=56FC92EE-A71A-4C73-B628-ADE629C89499 (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=56FC92EE-A71A-4C73-B628-ADE629C89499) On each server in the farm that has Office SharePoint 2007 installed, follow these steps: Click Start, click Run, type cmd , and then click OK. Navigate to the location of the IIS 6.0 Resource Kit Tools (default location is: C:\Program Files\IIS Resources\SelfSSL) At the command prompt, type selfssl /s:951338967 /v:1000, and then press ENTER. Notes For 64 bit Server, 951338967 is the default ID of the Office Server Web Services certificate. For 32 bit Server, 1720207907 is the default ID of the Office Server Web Services certificate. I'm running a KVM instance inside of OpenStack, and it isn't getting an IP address from the DHCP server. Using tcpdump, I can see the request and reply packets on vnet0 of the compute host: # tcpdump -i vnet0 -n port 67 or port 68 tcpdump: WARNING: vnet0: no IPv4 address assigned tcpdump: verbose output suppressed, use -v or -vv for full protocol decode listening on vnet0, link-type EN10MB (Ethernet), capture size 65535 bytes 19:44:56.176727 IP 0.0.0.0.68 > 255.255.255.255.67: BOOTP/DHCP, Request from fa:16:3e:46:f6:11, length 300 19:44:56.176785 IP 0.0.0.0.68 > 255.255.255.255.67: BOOTP/DHCP, Request from fa:16:3e:46:f6:11, length 300 19:44:56.177315 IP 10.40.0.1.67 > 10.40.0.3.68: BOOTP/DHCP, Reply, length 319 19:45:02.179834 IP 0.0.0.0.68 > 255.255.255.255.67: BOOTP/DHCP, Request from fa:16:3e:46:f6:11, length 300 19:45:02.179904 IP 0.0.0.0.68 > 255.255.255.255.67: BOOTP/DHCP, Request from fa:16:3e:46:f6:11, length 300 19:45:02.180375 IP 10.40.0.1.67 > 10.40.0.3.68: BOOTP/DHCP, Reply, length 319 However, if I do the same thing on eth0 inside the KVM instance, I only see the request packets, not the reply packets. What would prevent the packets from making it from vnet0 of the host to eth0 of the guest? My host is running Ubuntu 12.04 and my guest is running CentOS 6.3. Note that I have added this rule in my iptables, but it doesn't resolve the issue: -A POSTROUTING -p udp -m udp --dport 68 -j CHECKSUM --checksum-fill The instance corresponds to vnet0 and is connected via br100: # brctl show bridge name bridge id STP enabled interfaces br100 8000.54781a8605f2 no eth1 vnet0 vnet1 virbr0 8000.000000000000 yes Here's the full iptables-save: # Generated by iptables-save v1.4.12 on Tue Apr 2 19:47:27 2013 *nat :PREROUTING ACCEPT [8323:2553683] :INPUT ACCEPT [7993:2494942] :OUTPUT ACCEPT [6158:461050] :POSTROUTING ACCEPT [6455:511595] :nova-compute-OUTPUT - [0:0] :nova-compute-POSTROUTING - [0:0] :nova-compute-PREROUTING - [0:0] :nova-compute-float-snat - [0:0] :nova-compute-snat - [0:0] :nova-postrouting-bottom - [0:0] -A PREROUTING -j nova-compute-PREROUTING -A OUTPUT -j nova-compute-OUTPUT -A POSTROUTING -j nova-compute-POSTROUTING -A POSTROUTING -j nova-postrouting-bottom -A POSTROUTING -s 192.168.122.0/24 ! -d 192.168.122.0/24 -p tcp -j MASQUERADE --to-ports 1024-65535 -A POSTROUTING -s 192.168.122.0/24 ! -d 192.168.122.0/24 -p udp -j MASQUERADE --to-ports 1024-65535 -A POSTROUTING -s 192.168.122.0/24 ! -d 192.168.122.0/24 -j MASQUERADE -A nova-compute-snat -j nova-compute-float-snat -A nova-postrouting-bottom -j nova-compute-snat COMMIT # Completed on Tue Apr 2 19:47:27 2013 # Generated by iptables-save v1.4.12 on Tue Apr 2 19:47:27 2013 *mangle :PREROUTING ACCEPT [7969:5385812] :INPUT ACCEPT [7905:5363718] :FORWARD ACCEPT [158:48190] :OUTPUT ACCEPT [6877:8647975] :POSTROUTING ACCEPT [7035:8696165] -A POSTROUTING -o virbr0 -p udp -m udp --dport 68 -j CHECKSUM --checksum-fill -A POSTROUTING -p udp -m udp --dport 68 -j CHECKSUM --checksum-fill COMMIT # Completed on Tue Apr 2 19:47:27 2013 # Generated by iptables-save v1.4.12 on Tue Apr 2 19:47:27 2013 *filter :INPUT ACCEPT [2196774:15856921923] :FORWARD ACCEPT [0:0] :OUTPUT ACCEPT [2447201:1170227646] :nova-compute-FORWARD - [0:0] :nova-compute-INPUT - [0:0] :nova-compute-OUTPUT - [0:0] :nova-compute-inst-19 - [0:0] :nova-compute-inst-20 - [0:0] :nova-compute-local - [0:0] :nova-compute-provider - [0:0] :nova-compute-sg-fallback - [0:0] :nova-filter-top - [0:0] -A INPUT -j nova-compute-INPUT -A INPUT -i virbr0 -p udp -m udp --dport 53 -j ACCEPT -A INPUT -i virbr0 -p tcp -m tcp --dport 53 -j ACCEPT -A INPUT -i virbr0 -p udp -m udp --dport 67 -j ACCEPT -A INPUT -i virbr0 -p tcp -m tcp --dport 67 -j ACCEPT -A FORWARD -j nova-filter-top -A FORWARD -j nova-compute-FORWARD -A FORWARD -d 192.168.122.0/24 -o virbr0 -m state --state RELATED,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT -A FORWARD -s 192.168.122.0/24 -i virbr0 -j ACCEPT -A FORWARD -i virbr0 -o virbr0 -j ACCEPT -A FORWARD -o virbr0 -j REJECT --reject-with icmp-port-unreachable -A FORWARD -i virbr0 -j REJECT --reject-with icmp-port-unreachable -A OUTPUT -j nova-filter-top -A OUTPUT -j nova-compute-OUTPUT -A nova-compute-FORWARD -i br100 -j ACCEPT -A nova-compute-FORWARD -o br100 -j ACCEPT -A nova-compute-inst-19 -m state --state INVALID -j DROP -A nova-compute-inst-19 -m state --state RELATED,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT -A nova-compute-inst-19 -j nova-compute-provider -A nova-compute-inst-19 -s 10.40.0.1/32 -p udp -m udp --sport 67 --dport 68 -j ACCEPT -A nova-compute-inst-19 -s 10.40.0.0/16 -j ACCEPT -A nova-compute-inst-19 -p tcp -m tcp --dport 22 -j ACCEPT -A nova-compute-inst-19 -p icmp -j ACCEPT -A nova-compute-inst-19 -j nova-compute-sg-fallback -A nova-compute-inst-20 -m state --state INVALID -j DROP -A nova-compute-inst-20 -m state --state RELATED,ESTABLISHED -j ACCEPT -A nova-compute-inst-20 -j nova-compute-provider -A nova-compute-inst-20 -s 10.40.0.1/32 -p udp -m udp --sport 67 --dport 68 -j ACCEPT -A nova-compute-inst-20 -s 10.40.0.0/16 -j ACCEPT -A nova-compute-inst-20 -p tcp -m tcp --dport 22 -j ACCEPT -A nova-compute-inst-20 -p icmp -j ACCEPT -A nova-compute-inst-20 -j nova-compute-sg-fallback -A nova-compute-local -d 10.40.0.3/32 -j nova-compute-inst-19 -A nova-compute-local -d 10.40.0.4/32 -j nova-compute-inst-20 -A nova-compute-sg-fallback -j DROP -A nova-filter-top -j nova-compute-local COMMIT # Completed on Tue Apr 2 19:47:27 2013

  • php5-fpm.sock file doesn't exist

    - by Caballero
I've just compiled and installed PHP-FPM 5.5.5 following this tutorial. I have ignored the apache setup section, because I'm running nginx. Everything seems to be fine: php -v PHP 5.5.5 (cli) (built: Oct 18 2013 21:56:02) Copyright (c) 1997-2013 The PHP Group Zend Engine v2.5.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2013 Zend Technologies Problem is, I need to link it to my nginx conf via a socket, but /var/run/php5-fpm.sock file doesn't exist. How do I create it? The file /etc/php5/fpm/pool.d/www.conf does include the line listen = /var/run/php5-fpm.sock It is possible (though I'm not sure) that it's a leftover of an older php version 5.5.3 which was installed and removed via apt-get. I'm running Ubuntu 13.10 (Saucy Salamander)

  • Django HttpResponseRedirect acting as proxy rather than 302

    - by Trevor Burnham
I have a Django method that's returning return HttpResponseRedirect("/redirect-target") When running the server locally, if I visit the page that returns that redirect, I get the log output [17/Oct/2013 15:26:02] "GET /redirecter HTTP/1.1" 302 0 [17/Oct/2013 15:26:02] "GET /redirect-target HTTP/1.1" 404 0 as expected. But, when I visit that page in Chrome, the Network tab shows the request to /redirecter with the response from /redirect-target, rather than showing the 302. cURL does the same: $ curl -I -X GET http://localhost/redirecter HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found date: Thu, 17 Oct 2013 19:32:30 GMT connection: keep-alive transfer-encoding: chunked In production, the same Django code does show a 302 redirect in Chrome and cURL. What could be going on here? Is there some kind of Django setting that might be causing it to proxy the target rather than send a redirect when HttpResponseRedirect is used (but lie about it in the log)? Or is there a quirk on my system (OS X) that might cause localhost redirects to behave this way?
