    Is anyone else experiencing Chrome extensions disappearing upon closing the browser? I do have the Click and Clean extension installed, and I'm wondering whether that is uninstalling my extensions somehow when it deletes browsing history. Thanks!

    Normally we can specify a target in the link or use javascript window.open to open a new window. But when I access this site www.wenxuecity.com (It is a chinese site) I could't find out how it opens each news in a new window. no target in the link. debug javascript doesn't show any call to window.open Could someone tell me how it is implemented?   • Shrinking windows and recovery partitions on the samsung new series 9

    I just bought a samsung NP900X3C, and as I was going to install linux, I noticed the windows partitions and recovery partitions occupied a major portion of the disk. The disk is a 128 GB SSD, and I want to keep the windows partition in order to play some games once in a while, but the windows disk is already 45GB full (with no installed programs) and the recovery partition is 20GB. That leaves under 60 GB for linux, which is not optimal, since that is what I'm going to be using most of the time, and there would be no room for games on the windows partition. There are also two small partitions that I don't know what are doing, one 100mb at the start of the disk that I'm guessing is some kind of boot partition, and one 5GB, that is described as an OS/2 hidden C: drive What I'm wondering is: can i delete the recovery partition? What about the mystical 5gb partition?     Hello; Why can't I start a line using a parenthesis followed by the keyword new?? For example: (New <custom_obj>).foo(var) In that case is obvious that I'm trying to avoid creating a named instance of the the <custom_obj> because I know that I'll only be using it at that sentence. Note that actually creating a named instance is not a problem for me... I just wanna know the reason why this is not possible.

  • Display issues on new OpenSUSE install

    I installed OpenSUSE 13.1 on my newly built PC, but the display is just horrible : the edges of the screen are missing. For example, I can't see all the top part, I can barely read the date and I see "ctivities" instead of "Activities". However, when I take a screenshot everything seems to be fine (the cursor doesn't appear though) the characters are sometimes too big and sometimes too small the cursor is huge and many other strange things. I took a few pictures I'm using an Intel integrated GPU (HD4400) and made all the possible updates with YaST. Any idea how I can fix this? Thanks

  • How do I assign a new keyboard shortcut in Excel 2010

    I need a keyboard shortcut for Merge & Center. I'd like it to be Ctrl+Shift+M. I am unfamiliar with Macros as was suggested in another answer and when I go to Options, I can't find shortcuts...I tried to follow the Help info, but as was already answered the Excel Customize Ribbon doesn't have the same options that Word 2010 does. So, how do I go about it step by step? I know this is for superuser...and I'm not one...but I hope to be one some day. Please help me on the way. Thanks.

  • Issues with new graphics card and drivers

    With my onboard graphics card (Intel HD 4000) I was able to use 1680x1050 screen resolution. Using the same screen and an Asus ENGTS250 graphics card with 296.10 drivers installed, I'm not able to use that resolution anymore. Also, I've been having other trouble with driver installations. Using 340.52 or 337.88, I can't boot into Windows 7. I see the Windows Welcome screen and then the screen goes black, loses signal and the computer locks up. I think the drivers issues and the resolution problems go hand-in-hand. I have a feeling I could use a newer driver than 296.10 which would give me access to use the 1680x1050 resolution I want to use, but I'm terrified that if I update or install another driver, that the computer will lock up again. Can anyone recommend a [better] driver for me to use?

I also tried downloading the package directly from launchpad.net and running dpkg -i on it (this had worked for a similar issue with a kernel upgrade), but to no avail. I'm not actually particularly interested in what's going on with mysql, per se (though I will need to figure it out at some time); at this point, my primary concern is that I am unable to apt-get install other packages! What to do?

    Building my FIRST computer. Will start with at least - one HDD, I purchased a WD SATA HDD a 10,000RPM VelociRaptor 500GB. I have read that if you use one of the settings, can't remember what it's called, that it would make an HDD rund at IDE speeds??? Could I or should I run it in RAID instead? Is RAID only for more than one HDD/ssd? I would like to get like a 64GB SSD later to maybe speed things up working together. Thanks

    I have get_iplayer installed on a Windows 7 PC and, generally, it has worked without too many problems. Now I find that I cannot download "The Sinking of the Laconia" from the BBC. Both episodes are still available for viewing (although only episode 2 has a live ' download' option). An error message saying 'ERROR: RTMP_ReadPacket, failed to read RTMP packet header' may be relevant? If anyone can help before the programme becomes unavailable, I'd be grateful

  • New Kingson SSD drive fails after 1 week

    I upgraded the hard disk in my notebook to a 128GB Kingston SSD V100. Everything worked fine for about a week then out of the blue the notebook would not boot up any more. A black dos-like screen was shown with the options to try and boot normally or attempt to repair windows. Neither option would do anything. When I removed the drive and tested it in an external usb case no other computers are able to access the drive either. Is there anything I can try to fix it myself? The drive is partitioned into three drives and when it's connected through an external usb case to another computer I can see the partitions, just can't access anything on them. Does this mean the drive might be recoverable?
