  I'm fairly new to Ruby on Rails, and I'm attempting to create some fancy CSS buttons using the "sliding doors" technique. I have it almost working, but I feel like there has to be a better way to handle the tags for a link. The way I'm currently doing it: <%= link_to '<span>New car</span>', {:action => "new"}, :class=>"button" %> This isn't terrible, per se, but I would like to know if this is the best way to handle span tags is RoR.

  I want my app to be available for both phones and tablets. The only difference between phone and tablet versions is: in "phone" version my app has buttons, which allow to make a phone call to a certain number. What is my problem: to be able to make phone call I need to add a permission to manifest file - <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.CALL_PHONE" /> This permission makes application incompatible with tablets. If I remove the permission, app cant make calls being launched on phone. How to make an app, that supports both phones and tablets and allow to make calls from phones?

• How to hide and disable cursor globally?

  I have two questions: How to hide cursor for all programs? I tried to hide the cursor by using ShowCursor, but it only works in my program. The cursor still appears when moving cursor outside of my program. How to disable mouse operations for all programs? I use SetWindowsHookEx to hook mouse and prevent other programs to processing the mouse operations. I can hook the clicks, but the problem is that I can't hook the "move". When I move the mouse to menu or system buttons ("minimize/restore/close"), they are highlighted. This means they can still "see" the mouse. Can anyone help me please?

  Lets say I have an application with a structure such as: System set date set name set something Other set death ray target calibrate and I want to have "back" and "next" buttons on a page. The catch is, if you're going in via the "wizard", I want the nav path to be something like "set name" - "set death ray target" - "set name". If you go via the Advanced options menu, I want to just iterate options... "set date" - "set name" - "set something" - "set death ray target" - calibrate. So far, I'm thinking I have to use different URIs, but that's that. Any ideia how this could be done? Thanks.

• How can I make the boostrap js carousel automatically cycle as soon as the page loads?

  Using bootstrap.js version 2.02 I'm trying to get the Twitter Bootstrap Carousel to automatically cycle as soon as someone visits my site. Right now, the auto cycling works only after you click one of the cycle buttons at least once. I want the carousel to begin cycling at the interval right away. Does anyone know how to do this? My site is hotairraccoon.com You'll see how after you click the carousel once, it begins to cycle every 5 seconds or so, but I don't want the click to be required to reveal carousel content. Thanks!

• Wrong Editing Controls Displayed in UITableView

  Hi all, I'm having a strange problem with UITableView. When the user taps the Edit button, the tableview (which is a grouped view with multiple sections) is supposed to show delete buttons for each row--except for the final row in each section, which has a green add button. When a user taps the green button, a new row is inserted, but now the final row gets a delete button. Even stranger, that delete button ACTS like an add button. So it seems there's a drawing glitch, rather than a problem in assigning the correct style. (Extensive NSLogging shows that the last cell is getting the Insert editing style correctly.) I've tried setting setNeedsDisplay on the cell and the tableView, I've tried reloading that section/row/the entire table, but the issue persists. Any ideas on how to get UITableView to explicitly redraw the editing controls?

  Hi all, It's been a while I'm consulting stackoverflow, but this time I didn't find any answer :( My question is quite simple :) On an iPhone/iPod touch, play music. Double tap the home button while the music is playing. You will see appear a popup with the play/pause/next/previous buttons and a volume control. Do you know if it's possible to make this popup appear programmatically ? I mean, I would like to add a button in my app that will display the popup, avoiding the user to double tap the home button (most of them doesn't know this shortcut). Thank you in advance !

  I am making a simple online application. I have a navigation bar with a few buttons and one "div" into which all the new contents will be loaded dynamically i.e. when I click "About", it will load the page parts into the "div" without reloading the whole page with .load() function. The problem is: what if I need to give a link to the Documents section of my web site, or the user wants to store this kind of link, the url is not rewritten when browsing my site. when the user stores the default link it will always link him to the default "Home" part. How can I rewrite the URL and what is the most correct way to do this?

  I created a UserControl with the buttons Save, Close and Cancel. I want to close the form without saving on the Cancel button, prompt a message to save on the Close button and Save without closing on the Save button. Normally, I would have used this.Close() on the Cancel button, but the UserControl doesn't have such an option. So I guess I have to set a property for that. Scrolling down the "Questions that may already have your answer" section, I came across this question: How to close a ChildWindow from an UserControl button loaded inside it?   I have UITableView. I customized the cell height (increased). I have 4 labels(UILabel) and 1 image(UIImage) and 3 buttons (UIButton). one of the button is delete button. By touching the cell or button(play button) on the image a video is loaded and played. I need to delete the cell by touching delete button. If I touched the delete button the corresponding video is deleted from library . But, how to delete the cell and all remaining data in it ? I am not able to delete the cells or the data in the cells. Unfortunately, because the ASP.NET page already has a wrapped around it, a lot of the buttons on the page break. Does anyone know how I can nest the form inside the ASP.NET page without breaking the top-level form? • Using UIImageViews for 'pages' in an iPhone/iPad storybook app?

  I'm new to iPhone programming, and well, what seems obvious to me may seem silly to a seasoned coder. I did a few 'switching views' tutorials on Youtube, and basically, they seems to work nicely for adding pages to a storybook type app. You add a UIViewController and associated view for each page. My question is would this become insanely slow, or a memory hog if I continued this method for say....35+ pages? Each page would also have a sound file associated with it that would play narration when a page load and stops when we leave. Basically, think of a powerpoint type app, with sound, possibly animated image elements, next & back buttons. I'm probably thinking of this very simplistically, but that's where my experience is at for the moment. Any insight or tips as to better and or more efficient ways to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

  I am working on my first Python app using PythonXY (2.6 and Qt4). I have a window with some buttons and a QtabWidget. When I press a button I want to plot a 3D image on a specific tab. I managed to get a 2D plot but I can't get the axes to 3D. Via Qt desiger I use the mplwidget. In many examples I see the use of figure(), but I can't get that to work with the mplwidget.   I have a custom Drupal module displaying some data in a table. Each row has a link which if clicked will delete the relevant row. Specifically, when the link is clicked it will take the user to a confirmation page. This page is really just a drupal form which says 'are you sure' with two buttons: 'Yes', 'No'. I figure I will need to pass the rowID to the confirmation page. My question: What is the typically way to pass data to a new page in Drupal 7? I guess I could just add the rowID to the URL and use the $_GET[] from the confirmation page... I don't think this is very safe and was wondering if there was a better 'Drupal' way. Thanks!

  In my winform app in VB.NET i want to use the localization option. But i have a few questions/problems. I'm using a menu strip to select an other language. But it seems that is doesn't change my menustip text to my selected language. It does change my labels, buttons, and textboxes but menu strips doesnt seem to change when i choose an other language. Also is it possible to get those resx files such as MyForm.fr-FR.resx compiled so it isn't an external file outside my app? Or to get those files in an Language folder at the same location of my app, so i don't have all those fr-FR, nl-Nl folders in the same location as my program.

• iPhone App takes up too much memory

  Ok, so here's my problem. My iPhone app is 1.2MB on disk. Granted I have a bunch of Images for the GUI buttons and backgrounds, etc. In-memory, my app takes up a whopping 15MB! That means if I then take a picture with the camera, 8MB default, it gives a memory warning (several) even before the picker calls its delegate! How can I tell what is grabbing so much memory, and how to remove it? I've removed all of my debugging symbols and added [-Os], but it still takes up a huge amount of memory! Also, (how) can I change the default resolution of the camera?
