• How to manipulate the default behaviour of jQuery Imageflow?

  Some of you sure know the jQuery-Plugin Imageflow on hxxp://finnrudolph.de/ImageFlow/ (sorry for that, I definitely need to gain reputation, working on it ;)) The default behaviour is that the images within the image-container (which has 100% width in this case) will be resized according to the image-container. There's an option to declare the distance between every image and it would be much better, if this value would be encreased and decreased with the window-resize-event. Everything seems to happen in a function called "moveTo" which is unfortunately also responsible for the resizing when moving to another image. I tried it since hours now but I don't come to a solution. Find the source-code here, and the mentioned function "moveTo" on line 554. Thank your very much for any help! Tim

My problem is that i too need to execute some client side code (to prompt user for any unsaved changes in my web part) on windows beforeunload event. How can i achieve this ? • How can I enable Pascal casing by default when using Jackson JSON in Spring MVC?

  I have a project that uses Spring MVC to create and handle multiple REST endpoints. I'm currently working on using Jackson to automatically handle the seralization/deserialization of JSON using the @RequestBody and @ResponseBody annotations. I have gotten Jackson working, so I've got a starting point. My problem is that our old serialization was done manually and used Pascal casing instead of Camel casing ("MyVariable" instead of "myVariable"), and Jackson does Camel casing by default. I know that I can manually change the name for a variable using @JsonProperty. That being said, I do not consider adding "@JsonProperty" to all of my variables to be a viable long-term solution. Is there a way to make Jackson use Pascal casing when serializing and deserializing other than using the @JsonProperty annotation?

  I have several keybindings in my text editing application that no longer work now that I have switched from using a regular textbox to using a richtextbox. This is because the wpf richtextbox has several default hokeys such as "Ctrl+1", "Ctrl+2", and "Ctrl+5". My keybindings are defined in a view that contains the view that the richtextbox is in. I can't move the keybindings to the richtextbox; Is there any fix for this problem? Other than using a third-party control or creating my own richtextbox from textboxbase.

• iphone: custom UITableViewCell taller than the default cell view.

  Hello, I'm creating an application that consists of a ListView with 5 rows: - 1st one containing a graph - 2nd to 5th rows containing some data with the same formatting. I have created 2 classes: GraphCustomViewCell and DataCustomViewCell. Depending upon the position of the cell I load the correct CustomCell with: NSArray *topLevelObjects = [[NSBundle mainBundle] loadNibNamed:@"GraphCustomViewCell" owner:nil options:nil]; for(id currentObject in topLevelObjects) { if([currentObject isKindOfClass:[GraphCustomViewCell class]]) { cell = (GraphCustomViewCell *)currentObject; break; } } That works fine except that the first row, the one corresponding to the graph, is bigger (in height) that the 4 other rows, and as a results it hides the 3 first other rows. Is there any option in the table view that enables the custom cell to expand the default cells ? I'd like that the 5 rows (graph + 4 data rows) to fit the entire screen (480 - tabbar's height).   I have a web site that works perfectly fine in IE9 when compatibility mode is turned OFF (the compatibility symbol is gray). When compatibility mode is turned on (blue), the jQuery doesn't work at all. I need to call it a number of times, and I'd like it to work the same way in subsequent calls but, as expected, it doesn't re-use the default value. I've read that this is a newbie trap and I've seen suggested solutions, but I haven't been able to make any solution work. • Why is this XMLHttpRequest sample from Mozilla is not working in Firefox 3?

  I'm trying to get the sample code from Mozilla that consumes a REST web service to work under Firefox 3.0.10. The following code does NOT work in Firefox but does in IE 8! Why is this not working? Does IE 8 have support for XMLHttpRequest? Most examples I've seen use the ActiveX allocation. What should I be doing? XMLHttpRequest seems more standardized. My problem was indeed cross-domain. I was viewing my site unpublished (just on the file system) which was hitting a published service. When I published my site under the same domain it worked. Which also brings up an important distinction between IE and Firefox. When IE experiences this scenario, it prompts the user whether or not they accept the cross-domain call.   We use NTLM auth in our application to determine whether a user can perform certain operations. We use the IPrincipal of their current Windows login (in WinForms applications), calling IsInRole to check for specific group memberships. To check that a user is a local administrator on the machine, we use: AppDomain.CurrentDomain.SetPrincipalPolicy(PrincipalPolicy.WindowsPrincipal); ... bool allowed = Thread.CurrentPrincipal.IsInRole(@"Builtin\Administrators") This works if the current user is the Administrator user, or is another user that is a member of the Builtin\Administrators group. In our testing on Windows 7, we have found that this no longer works as expected. The Administrator user still works fine, but any other user that is a member of the Builtin\Administrators group returns false for the IsInRole call. What could be causing this difference? I have a gut feeling that a default setting has changed somewhere (possible in gpedit), but cannot find anything that looks like the culprit.

  I've successfully completed light weight migration on my core data model. My custom entity Vehicle received a new property 'tirePressure' which is an optional property of type double with the default value 0.00. When 'old' Vehicles are fetched from the store (Vehicles that were created before the migration took place) the value for their 'tirePressure' property is nil. (Is that expected behavior?) The usual way to do this seems to be to set a custom format string by calling logging.basicConfig, but this can only be called once and has already been called by the time my code runs.   I've heard that using el.innerText||el.textContent can yield unreliable cross-browswer results, so I'm walking the DOM tree to collect text nodes recursively, and write them into tags in the HTML body. What this script does is read hash substring valus from the window.location and write them into the HTML. This script is working for me in Chrome & Firefox, but choking in IE. I call the page with an URL syntax like this: http://example.com/pagename.html#dyntext=FOO&dynterm=BAR&dynimage=FRED UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE Solution: I moved the scripts to before </body> (where they should have been) then removed console.log(sPageURL); and now it's working in Chrome, Firefox, IE8 and IE9. This my workaround for the innerText vs textContent crossbrowser issue when you are just placing text rather than getting text. • Why are the default UI controls in my iPhone app blurred?

  Why would the default iPhone interface elements, specifically the UISwitch (unmodified) and a UISegmentedControl appear slightly blurred? I have not changed them or called any private APIs. This blurring occurs when I run it both in the simulator and when I load it on my iPod Touch, so I don't think it's a one off drawing glitch.   I am using the CodeSorcery arm-eabi-gcc tool chain and I have a problem using ld separate from gcc I can compile my simple program and link it, if I let gcc call the ld.   Visual Studio 2010 changed the help system to run a little daemon and launch the system default web browser to view it. I'm using Firefox for my system browser but would like to use Chrome for VS help. Is there an option to change the Help browser that I'm not seeing in Tools|Options? If not, is there a workaround or registry setting to do this? As a backup I've been using H3Viewer but I'd like to be able to get context-sensitive F1 help from within the VS IDE.

The cleanest way that I've come across is to create a state block via IDirect3DDevice9::CreateStateBlock just after the device has been created so that it can be applied later. Unfortunately, I'm operating under the constraints of an existing project such that I can't modify the device creation code; by the time my component gets the device, its default state has been modified.   Lots of times we have to download files from the net. In IE we get to see the ugly download progress bar. In firefox we get to see a pop-up window opening etc. However, I have never seen this being over ridden in any manner. Until recently on the site *thesixtyone DOT com* If we get to download a song free and click on the ok link to start the download we get a pop up to select location in the default style of windows.   Let's say I have a grammar defined to something like: a b c d where c, and d are optional and default to 14 if not given. Can I get it to automatically return the 14 if the value isn't given? The closest I've come is like the following: qi::rule<Iterator, std::vector<int>(), ascii::space_type> some_rule; some_rule %= >> int_ >> int_ >> -int_ >> -int_; // ... some_other_rule = some_rule[&some_callback_for_int_vectors]; which will then get 0 for the optional values that didn't show up (I believe). I then change consecutive 0s at the end into 14. Not only is this horribly wrong, but its also just not elegant. Is there a better way to do this?

So a person would create an association where friends has an active column = false. User has_many :friends has_many :dogs, :through => :friends Now when I assign a dog to a user User.find(1).dogs << dog The friends table has null in the active column. My friends model is defined as Friend def initialize(args = {}) super(args) active = false end yet this does not work because the friend object is never created. Do I have to manually create one?

  I was wondering if there was a way to change the default GECOS fields on a user. Now, I don't mean change their name, number, shell, etc. What I mean is change the field-type/name itself. Like, for example, since I never use the "Work-Phone" field, could I say, rename it to something else, like "Address" ? Also, is it possible to add completely new field entries as well? All I could really find through searching is how to change the fields that are already set.
