  • VSS - Solution file between multiple users

    Hi folks, we have a solution with multiple projects that is being developed by a team of developers. Project paths in the solution file checked in initially contains the path that are specific to that developer. Now when another dev gets latest of the solution, some of the projects won't load as the path differs. What's a better way to manage this ? TIA

  • Why doesn't Apple make private APIs inaccessible?

    If Apple doesn't want developers using private APIs in the iPhone SDK, why don't they do something like mark the classes and/or methods with whatever the Objective-C equivalent of C#'s "internal" keyword? If the APIs are spread amongst multiple binaries, Apple could refactor them into dedicated private-API-only binaries to make this easier for them.

  • Selecting a column that is also a keyword in MySQL

    For some reason, the developers at a new company I'm working for decided to name their columns "ignore" and "exists". Now when I run MySQL queries with those words in the where clause, I get a syntax error; however, I can't seem to figure out how to reference those columns without running into an error. I tried setting them as strings, but that doesn't make any sense. Help? Also, is there a term for this kind of mismatch?

    Hey, I've been developing an application in the windows console with Java, and want to put it online in all of its console-graphics-glory. Is there a simple web applet API I can use to port my app over? I'm just using basic System.out and System.in functionality, but I'm happy to rebuild my I/O wrappers.     Hello, I have a few questions regarding JavaScript obfuscation on client side. First question: What is the best tool or best three tools which ones you could suggest for this operation? Second question: How developers should debug such code (in example with firebug) when extreme situation appears in the production if the code is obfuscated?     This question was inspired by what-features-would-you-like-to-see-added-to-c. anBasically, C++ is a great general-purpose language. But perhaps too general and feature-rich... multiple inheritance, operator overloading, manual memory management, templates, smart pointers, virtual destructors, legacy frameworks (think MFC), and I could just go on.
