• STAThread and Process output capture in c#

  Hi: This is a strange problem I encountered. I have an window application written in c# to do testing. It has a MDI parent form that is hosting a few children forms. One of the forms launch test cripts by creating processes and capture the scripts output to a text box. Another form open serial port and monitoring the status of the device I am working on(like a shell). If I ran both of them together, the output of the script seems only appear in the text box after the test is done. However, If I don't open the serial port form, the output of the script is captured in real time. Does anyone knows what's causing the problem? I notice the onDataReceived even handler for serial port form has a [STAThread] header to it. Will this cause the serial port thread having higher priority than other processes? Thanks in advance.

  Here is my dilemma, I have not been able to manipulate my data to a form fitting to jqgrid standards. This is my first time using the jqgrid and I've spent a lot of time reading up on it.   I'm launching a new site soon and would like to use one nice font (for headings etc). I've experimented with scripts like cufon and find them very disappointing. The way I see it I have to legal options: create my own font stacks using fonts that are licensed for @font-face (like fontsquirrel) subscribe to typekit use standard font stacks including some of MS Office's nicer fonts (not keen on!) I'm looking for comments from someone with experience here, not speculation please (i can do that myself!). Has anyone used typekit? Have you noticed any performance issues?

• Remove address fields from Mac address book using Applescript

  Hello, A Facebook Sync app filled the address fields of my Mac Address Book contacts with their cities. Having tons of people who have useless addresses makes it difficult to search by people on Google Maps app (ending up scrolling through many many people- I only want to see those who have proper addresses entered). I want to clear all the home address fields in my address book using applescript. I wrote something small but couldn't get it to work, probably needs some help from somebody who knows applescript :) tell application "Address Book" repeat with this_person in every person repeat with this_address in every address of this_person if label of this_address is "home" then remove this_address from addresses of this_person end if end repeat end repeat end tell I tried to deduct the logic of multiple addresses/phones from other scripts but could only find adding them, not removing them. • CurvyCorners in Wordpress Theme only rounds some corners in IE - what am I doing wrong?

  Hi, I'm implementing the CurvyCorners script on a blog I'm developing. The script works in IE on some parts of the blog, but not others. • Oracle SqlPlus Command Line: There's a way to concatenate set options?

  Heya, I need to set up some SET options in Oracle SQLplus command line program each time I use it, such as SET HEADING OFF and the likes to beautify my results. I found that I always have to input each line separately so Set different options and this is becoming annoying since I need to access it many times a day. I found that there's no way to separate different SET commands with semicolumns because it doesn't accept it: SET HEADING OFF; SET LINESIZE 100; returns an error A solution could be adding them to a control script and create a shell alias, but I know control scripts execute and then exit and don't return you control over the command line. So, anybody knows another solution? Or am I missing something?

• Install multiple iPhone apps at once from Xcode to device

  Supposing we have an Xcode iPhone project with 2 targets, is it possible to build and install both of them on the device with one click? Of course, I understand we will not be able to "build and run" both, but can we at least install them? And to extend this concept a bit a bit: are there any scripts to achieve the same thing but with multiple iPhone projects instead of multiple targets in one project? This would be useful when you want to load all your apps on a new development device and don't want to go through all your projects one by one and install.

  I've read that including the scripts dynamically may provide some better performance, however i'm not really seeing that on the small local tests I'm doing. I created a jquery plugin to dynamically load other plugins as necessary and am curious as to if this is actually a good idea.   Advice needed for backend form submission to aweber and get response. Scenario When customer signup at my form, I will 1. insert the customer details into my own database, 2. send them a welcome email from my system, 3. at the same time I want the email to be added into aweber (this should run in the background, so that customer no need to fill in details for second time) If I use the php curl call alone, is it a good solution? I want to submit form value to aweber, so that aweber add the new email into their system, and then response to my backend script?   I created the global temp table. when I execute the code as an individual scripts it works fine. but when I execute it as a single script in TOAD then no record was created. there was just an empty global temp table. eg. CREATE GLOBAL TEMPORARY TABLE TEMP_TRAN ( COL1 NUMBER(9), COL2 VARCHAR2(30), COL3 DATE ) ON COMMIT PRESERVE ROWS / INSERT INTO TEMP_TRAN VALUES(1,'D',sysdate); / INSERT INTO TEMP_TRAN VALUES(2,'I',sysdate); / INSERT INTO TEMP_TRAN VALUES(3,'s',sysdate); / COMMIT; When I run the above code one statement at a time it works fine. But when I execute it as a script it runs fine but there was no records in temp table. can anyone help me on this please?

• When will NAnt reach version 1.0

  I like Nant very much. I do a lot of scripting with NAnt. It is a great little tool. Since NAnt is pre 1.0, when problems occur, I often think if that it is a problem with NAnt itself, but this is not always the case. One funny example: After running the oracle scripts I parsed the log output to make sure there was no problem. I was testing this with a small log file and it was fine. I used the task to load the file contents to a string property and used a regex to search for errors. When I used this script for a large log file, I stopped getting the "build failed" message at the bottom, because I was printing the error messages. Because the "build failed" was hiding at the top, I thought NAnt crashed, but it worked fine. It would be better for NAnt to have a 1.0 release. Any reasons why not?

  Is it possible to use CPP extension on Haskell code which contains multiline string literals? Are there other conditional compilation techniques for Haskell? For example, let's take this code: -- If the next line is uncommented, the program does not compile. -- {-# LANGUAGE CPP #-} msg = "Hello\ \ Wor\ \ld!" main = putStrLn msg If I uncomment {-# LANGUAGE CPP #-}, then GHC refutes this code with a lexical error: [1 of 1] Compiling Main ( cpp-multiline.hs, cpp-multiline.o ) cpp-multiline.hs:4:17: lexical error in string/character literal at character 'o' Using GHC 6.12.1, cpphs is available. I confirm that using cpphs.compat wrapper and -pgmP cpphs.compat option helps, but I'd like to have a solution which does not depend on custom shell scripts. -pgmP cpphs does not work. P.S. I need to use different code for GHC < 6.12 and GHC = 6.12, is it possible without preprocessor?

  Hi guys Just wondering if anyone knows if there are any MSBuild starter kits out there. What I mean by starter kits is that from the looks of it most builds to kinda the same sort of steps with minor changes here and there (i.e. most builds would run test, coverage, zip up the results, produce a report, deploy etc). Also what most people in general want from a CI build, test build, release build is mostly the same with minor changes here and there. Now don't get me wrong i think that most scripts are fairly different in the end. But I can't help but think that most start out life being fairly similar. Hence does anyone know of any "starter kits" that have like a dev/CI/test/release build with the common tasks that most people would want that you can just start changing and modifying?   We're currently not applying the automated building and testing of continous integration in our project. We haven't bothered this far as we're only 2 developers working on it, but even with a team of 2 I still think it would be valuable to use continous integration and get a confirmation that our builds don't break or tests start failing. We're using .Net with C# and WPF. We have created Python-scripts for building the application - using MSbuild - and for running all tests. Our source is in SVN. What would be the best approach to apply continous integration with this setup? What tool should we get? It should be one which doesn't require alot of setup. Simple procedures to get started and little maintanance is a must.

  Hello, I would like to understand better exactly what is going on when Apache on linux receive an HTTP request in a process pre-fork model. Let's say we have 20 Apache child processes waiting. When I receive an HTTP request, is it true to say that 1 child process will be chosen to handle the request and that this process won't handle another request from another user until the first one is finished ? I am asking the question because of a PHP limitation that states : The locale information is maintained per process, not per thread. If you are running PHP on a multithreaded server API like IIS or Apache on Windows, you may experience sudden changes in locale settings while a script is running, though the script itself never called setlocale(). This happens due to other scripts running in different threads of the same process at the same time, changing the process-wide locale using setlocale(). Thanks Jerome Wagner

• Can't run os.system command in Django?

  We have a Django app running on apache server (mod_python) on a windows machine which needs to call some r scripts. To do so it would be easiest to call r through os.system, however when django gets to the os.system command it freezes up. I've also tried subprocess with the same result. We have a possibly related problem in that Django can only access the file system of the machine it's on, all network drives appear to be invisible to it, which is VERY frustrating. Any ideas on both of these issues (I'm assuming it's the same limitation in both instances) would be most appreciated.

  I am developing a new project, using Autotools for my build infrastructure. I would like to subsume external dependencies into my source tree. These dependencies are using Autotools, as well. How can I configure my project's build scripts to build and link against subsumed dependencies? Though Duret-Lutz's tutorial is excellent, this situation is only briefly addressed in a few slides. I found his explanation deeply confusing. By adding the directory name of subsumed dependencies to the toplevel Makefile.am's SUBDIRS the dependency is being configured and built. It is possible to manually set include paths through CFLAGS, but how do I link against libtool .la files?

  There are so many lightboxes to choose from, I'm looking for a very lightweight one to use in an embedded javascript widget that would be used on a number of different web sites. This would work in a similar way to the GetSatisfaction/UserVoice feedback tab. • Stress Test tool for Password Protected Website

  We need to run a stress test on a password protection section of a website we host. What tool (paid or free) would be best for us to use for this? We'd like to be able to create several 'scripts' and then have the stress test simulate X number of users. Each script will have us login as a specific user and then click on some links and submit forms to simulate an actual user. Ideally the software would also create some nice data exports/charts. Server is a linux web server, but we could run this on linux or Windows so software that will run on either is fine.

  Hi all, The following code works fine on my WAMP localhost server, but when I try to upload it, to my webhoste, it don't and I'm a bit confused about what's wrong. The code is: <?php if(isset($_GET['menu'])) { if($_GET['menu'] == 3) { echo "<!--Gallery Scripts-->\n"; echo gallery(); } } ?> The purpose is that if the URL is saying: index.php?menu=3 it will run the function "gallery()" which will load the gallery. • Unable to allocate new pages in table space "XXXX" ... but it's 250 megs and I'm only running DDL

  Hello, I'm a DB2 newbie, so I'd appreciate even any pointers on where to start looking. We have great DB2 admins but they're swamped with other issues now, so I'm trying to do some troubleshooting on a development database. My situation is that I have a tablespace that's giving me this error message Unable to allocate new pages in table space "[MyTableSpace]". However, all I'm doing is running multiple (hundreds) of DDL statements, mainly creating tables but also indexes and pk scripts. So, considering that the tablespace has about 250 mg, I shouldn't be running out of space, right? Here's another thing - it appears that after I leave my script for a while, something "resets" and works for a while, then I begin to have the tablespace issue again. thanks, Sylvia
