    While learning Haskell I am wondering when an IO action will be performed. In several places I found descriptions like this: "What’s special about I/O actions is that if they fall into the main function, they are performed." But in the following example, 'greet' never returns and therefore nothing should be printed. import Control.Monad main = greet greet = forever $ putStrLn "Hello World!" Or maybe I should ask: what does it mean to "fall into the main function"?

  • would there be such case of jumping, if yes how?

    I have an issue in the mind and that is since the jump instruction changes EIP register by adding signed offsets to it(if I'm not making a mistake here), on IA-32 architecture how would going upward in memory from location 0x7FFFFFFF(biggest positive number in signed logic) to 0x80000000(least negative number in signed logic) be possible? or maybe there shouldn't be such jump due to the nature of signed logic?

  • Using C# to read/write from excel spreadsheet.

    Hi there, I need to make a program that writes some data to an excel spreadsheet. Something basic along the lines of First name, last name, phone number, e-mail per row with each category in its own column. I don't even know where to start. If someone could tell me which assemblies to reference and maybe point me to a website or a book that covers writing/reading data from an excel spreadsheet via a c# program that would be great.     I know this is common in most languages, and maybe in C, as well. Can C handle separating several functions out to a separate file and having them be included? The functions will rely on other include files, as well. I want the code to retain all functionality, but the code will be reused in several C scripts, and if I change it once I do not wish to have to go through every script and change it there, too.

    One of the sites i visit has an annoying habit of naming all their files showimage.php. When i save the image or file it saves as a .php so i cannot open the file. The worse part is, there is a &ext=zip&more=blah in the url. Is it possible to use greasemonkey to rename the file ext so it isnt php? (maybe injecting a content disposition header?)
