    Hi What are the possible ways of representing data in memory in .Net (or in general)? It would be great if data could be sorted and looked up by key (or multiple keys). We are thinking to use collections, arrays, list of collections/arrays. One object would be in several collections (one sorted asc, other desc, etc.). Maybe this is not a good idea, and we would like to hear some other possible solutions. Thank you

When I insert something mysql_query('INSERT INTO `table` SET `column` = "data";'); Now, what I want is, without further queries, to get the value of the auto-incrementing column, maybe like this: mysql_query('insertion = (INSERT INTO `table` SET `column` = "data"); SELECT `auto_incrementing_column` FROM `table`.insertion'); Please tell me how something like that is done.   • IE8 disappearing image bug

    In IE8 (& maybe others), when I leave my page to go to another tab in IE and then come back to my page's tab, each time the cursor runs over an image it disappears until I refresh the page. I've heard of disappearing image bugs, but I couldn't find anything on this particular case, especially given this isn't a weird pre-IE8 bug. Right now I'm logging some info of the user in my web app in a log file to observe the usage & interest for some services, but I'm interested in checking that info in a readeable way, so I'm questioning if maybe I shall save that info in a database and then retrieve it to show it in tables or whatever. It's better to log in the database for my purposes? Or logging like now I could select/order the info of the log easily?

    Is there a command-line tool that could tell me if Gzip is on? What I'm looking for is something that can say the stream coming from the server is really gzipped even if the header params say Gzip:1 (which it could be falsely placing in the headers). I don't see a switch in curl, or wget, or tcpdump, or anything, but maybe I'm just missing something, or perhaps there is something else that could provide me this bit of information? Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi, I first learned C++ then moved to C (I know kind of backwards) and then I found a thing called iTunes U and began watching programming classes to extend my knowledge and noticed that Stanford and MIT both did not teach C or C++ as an introduction to computer programming. Then I began to wonder why they didn't begin teaching C/C++ because I thought C/C++ was more efficient than Java (which Stanford taught) and Python (which MIT taught). Or maybe there is no particular reason?

In several places I found descriptions like this: "What’s special about I/O actions is that if they fall into the main function, they are performed." But in the following example, 'greet' never returns and therefore nothing should be printed. import Control.Monad main = greet greet = forever $ putStrLn "Hello World!" Or maybe I should ask: what does it mean to "fall into the main function"?

    In my application I am using a webview, and in order to increase/decrease text size, I am using WebSettings().setTextSize method, but, this method is limited to 5 predefined enum sizes only (SMALLEST, SMALLER, NORMAL, LARGER,LARGEST). I know I can use WebSettings().setTextZoom(int), but my application is available for API Level 8 and above, and this method was introduced in API Level 14... My question is: Is there any way to add other sizes to webSettings().setTextSize? maybe by extending textSize enum, or define other sizes?

Example string: other | text [tag]text|more text|and more[/tag] end | text My goal is to replace | with <br/> between [tag] and [/tag].
